Order of battle: It's a fairly simple procedure. We will assign numbers to each participant, and then randomly determine each matchup as it arrives. At the moment, that means assigning the numbers one through four, and then rolling a d4 to determine which participant will fight first.
The first battle: Tsukishiro Shia vs. Albel Nox/Crazy Fox
The second battle: Miquelet vs. William Helmsley Kraven (Zodiac field)
The third battle: Philinegro vs. LT. K. Rikers
The fourth battle: Mr.Grimmm vs. Naota Sagara
The second round! The first semi-final: Tsukishiro Shia vs. LT. K. Rikers (Zodiac Field)
The second semi-final: Miquelet vs. Mr. Grimmm

The field is a simple affair, just a huge expanse of grassy plain. The snow has been carefully removed, leaving the grass lush and green for prime fighting conditions. To the east the grass gives way to a series of rocks, not quite big enough to be called boulders. They are randomly scattered over the area, creating a small series of rises and falls, easily large enough for a person to hide among. There is a small river cutting through the northwestern corner, although it is less than a foot deep. The water is cool and fresh, and several fish swim throughout it. A brisk wind blows, and the grass is ruffled by it's delicate caress. Several fluffy clouds float across the sky, and the sun shines down brightly. All in all, it is a perfect place for a good-natured fight. As the first two contestants step out onto the field, the judges get themselves ready to monitor the fight.

Shia steps out onto the field, looking it over with a critical eye. This open grassland may be a bit of a challenge for her style, but it was nothing truly insurmountable. She let her staff drag through the soft grass as she wandered about, waiting for the other contender to show up. "Miquelet, I'll prove myself to you."

Albel walked towards the open grassy arena with his katana hanging below his waist and saw his contender. He thought to himself, ("Hmph, I hope she will be a worthy advisary"). And proceeded to walk towards the middle of the arena.

As her opponent approaches, Shia also walks toward the center of the field. She sizes him up as she does so, trying to make a guess as to his ability. She stops just short of the actual center of the field, a good twenty feet away from Albel. "Shall we begin?" Even as she speaks, she readies her staff, and shifts into a defensive posture.

Shia nods once to herself, and then leaves her defensive posture. Shifting her staff to one hand, she mirrors Albel's stance, holding her staff almost the same way one would hold a sword. She aligned herself to have her feet the same way as he, settling into the same position he was in. She was staring directly at him, taking in every movement he did. Each time his leg bent, each finger's movements, everything was noticed and copied. It would seem her staff wasn't as heavy as it looked, as holding it the way she was would usually tire out one's biceps quite quickly.

Albel wondered why she was copying the same stance as he was. (Perhaps to mirror his techniques he thought) Better to find out now what she was capable of, so he dashed towards her, his katana ready to strike...

Shia saw Albel charge, so did the same, her footfalls matching his as closely as she was able. She brought her tsaff up to strike, lining it up with his sword. She made sure to keep an even closer eye on him for this step, as she was fairly confident he would twist his blade at the last moment, to dodge her own strike. If so, she would be ready and waiting for it.

(how odd he thought. She was moving just as perfectly as he was...he'd better be much careful...) "Allrite...you want to play like this...lets do it!" As he neared her, he increased the speed at which he was charging at her, but now he was moving left, right and left again over and over, his right hand on top of the hilt of the katana, ready to strike.

Shia had quite a bit of practice at reading body language, so she was able to see the signs of his impendin g changes in direction a mere moment before he acted. A weight adjustment here, a foot twist there, she did her utmost to mirror his actions as perfectly as she could. Her staff felt somewhat heavier, but not enough to really make a change to how she was holding it. By now, they were only a matter of feet from each other, now would be the time to attack. Shia focused with all her might on his sword and torso. Thw sword itself for any sudden shift in direction, and his torso for any signs of a last-minute change of muscular torsion.

As soon as he got within striking range he quickly concentrated his energy to summon a pair of ice-blue gauntlets and greaves on his hands and feet and quickly spun around with great force and preformed a round-house kick aimed at Shia...
