History
According to Zero-G, they looked at what was missing and decided that there was a gap for a classical soprano voice. Prima was the first English capable Vocaloid to gain satisfactory levels of popularity, even after Vocaloid became mostly obscure in the west, and saw heavier usage than previous English capable Vocaloids. After increased interest began to occur in vocaloids and demand rose, Zero-G began reselling Lola, Leon, and Miriam from their own website via their virtual shop.

Usage for Music
What makes Prima different from the Vocaloids before her is that her voice was modeled after a professional Soprano opera singer, this means she can hit high notes with accuracy and ease and is considered amongst one of the more professional aimed Vocaloids. She has one of the most powerful sounding of the Vocaloids and favors long drawn out notes, many consider her one of the most natural sounding English capable Vocaloids, if not the most natural sounding. Her vocals blend together fairly easy when used correctly and she was smoother then Sweet Ann before her. Prima can create the 5 breathing phonemes ([br1] - [br5]) making her the only current female of the English only voicebanks that can. Because opera involves languages that require a rolling tongue for pronunciation, the phoneme "R" had to be invented for Prima's voicebank. From Prima onwards, this became a prominent feature of most English capable Vocaloids. However, she is noted to be harder to tweak into other styles in general despite having what is considered one of the clearest English speaking Vocaloid 2 voice banks, as her voice is one of the most stylistic of the Vocaloids. Despite difficulty, with adjustments Prima's voice can be made to suit the intended genres a user wishes her to sing in. This has resulted in her having one of the most extensive collection of songs with covers and original works in almost every genre possible despite being intended for just one style of music originally. In Japan, Prima became a common back up singer to other female Vocaloids and was one of the first English Vocaloids to see heavy usage by Japanese producers.
Currently there are no plans for an updated version of Prima. However, it has been confirmed that if there is demand, Prima will be updated to a newer engine version. Confirmation was also given from Anders, that if English Vocaloids become a lot more popular, Appends for existing Vocaloids is also a possibility.

Personality
Prima is one of those personality's that you love to watch ,she is so absolutely dramatic ( in the best way possible) you can't help but love her. She is a true a Prima Donna (Italian term meaning "first lady" aka the one with the most talent ) and she knows it. She knows how good she it and that's why she can get frustrated when she is not used to her fullest. Prima seems to enjoy the finer things in life however she is incredibly tough and is not easily intimidated. However due to this she can be seen as spoiled and afraid to work hard, to the unknowing eye.
