It was a nice warm afternoon at Amityville and Raziel was feeling pretty good. Things seemed to be going much better lately than usual, although there was that field trip coming up. That had him a touch worried. All the previous field trips had been... well, disastrous. He let out a small sigh as he walked up to a tree with plenty of shade and sat down underneath its large branches. The warm air made him want to nap as he sat there plucking pieces of grass out of the ground and pulling them apart bit by bit.

Onibis brows rose infinitesimally higher as he caught sight of a familiar ringed tail peeked from behind one of many gnarled and perpetually leaf-less trees scattered about the grounds. This was the tiny monster he had asked, awkward and strained though it was, all those months ago to the Moonlight Masque. At that thought Onibi made a heroic effort to will down the mortified chill currently fighting it's way down his spine and back up to the very tips of his horns, and even with his seemingly effortless ability to appear unruffled and disinterested he could feel the slight flush making it's way across paper white skin. Jack, what had he been thinking then? But at the time the academy had still been new and something to explore and, for once without the constant guidance of parents, asking a seemingly common monster to a festival in the very heart of the monster districts had seemed just the thing to do.
Briefly Onibi considered pretending he hadn't seen of the other boil. It was not as if they had had any contact outside that one night, after all, and while well-versed in many things, idle conversation was something he had little talent in. Unlike Len, who could make a chance meeting feel like long lost friends coming together.
Feeling off balance he slid into the empty spot beside the little monster, hesitantly - though he'd never admit to the feeling - setting andon lamp between them. "Raziel."

Raziel wasn't really thinking about much of anything as he sat there killing the grass one blade at a time. He was pretty much at peace with himself for the time being. Or at least with his social life, he was always slightly concerned when field trips were coming up.
Suddenly, someone was sitting next to him at the base of the tree. His once half-open eyes flew open from surprise and slight alarm. He turned his head to see who had joined him, trying to asses whether they were a treat or not. Then he heard his name, and his mind slowed. It was Onibi... but it had been so long since the last time he saw him. Raziel could feel his heart skip a beat as the few memories from so long ago came back.
"Onibi..." he breathed out, his voice only a little above a whisper, "It's been so long." He wasn't sure what else to say, he hadn't seen the demon in nearly a year and this was a sudden kind of reunion.

Ringed eyes swept over Raziel as the monster trailed off, leaving Onibi wondering if it hadn't been a mistake after all to approach the boil. It was obvious the other felt awkward at his sudden appearance, though that was hardly something new in the Ao-Andons brief dealings with other students, and Onibi could admit he hadn't been sure what else he had expected from the little monster.
Head tilted, Onibi forged on "It has. You are well?"

He was in a state of shock. Raziel hadn't seen Onibi since the demon had asked him to the Monster Masque last year, and here he was all of the sudden. He was at a sort of loss for words, though that wasn't unusual for him. Though usually with Onibi, Raziel was the one driving the conversation a little more. Thankfully Onibi was taking on that role this particular afternoon.
"I've been well, yes," the words came out slowly, with him wondering exactly how much of what had been happening recently to unload on the boil. "How have you been?"

The irony was not lost on Onibi. What amounted as a smile for the ao-andon tugged at the very corners of his lips as Raziel, who Onibi would have never before this moment been hesitant to describe as brash and boisterous, took to their conversation with what amounted to be near tentativeness.
Firmly brushing off what awkwardness still remained, Onibi nodded, gesticulating carefully with one hand before allowing it to rest lightly atop the andon lamp between them. "Much of the same," casting a glance at the other he continued "Though you've undoubtedly had a much more interesting time of it than I."

As the seconds ticked on, Raziel was beginning to settle more and more. He was becoming a lot more comfortable, and slide back into his usual tendencies. He wasn't about to be off-the-wall and in your face, but he was speaking a little faster and more conversationally.
"It has been rather crazy around here," he said, glancing up at the demon before plucking another piece of grass to shred. "I've made some new friends, like Xiu and Beatrix, they're great. I also met someone I never wanted to see again. And Xiu helped me figure out what type of monster I am." he felt that he was going on and on, and yet he hadn't really gone into much detail about any of these things. Instead of hogging the entire conversation, he posed a question, "What have you been doing since we last saw each other?"
