Dragain A day at the maul was nothing for the demoness; she spent (way too much) time there whenever she found herself not knowing what else to do after all, although this time, she was there alone. Ever since the Student Council election results were announced, she found herself wishing to get away from the school once in a while... Losing twice in a roll was not good for her self confidence, no matter how happy she was for her friends for getting the positions they wanted. Just... She probably wouldn't be trying out anymore. Twice was enough. It was obviously because she lacked something that she wasn't being picked. What made her feel worse was the fact that she hated feeling like this; she liked to think of herself as an optimistic person! Sighing, a small shop at the corner of the maul caught her eye - a pet shop! Looking at cute minipets would surely make her feel better, right? With a small smile, she headed in its direction. Huni Pi The horse boil had few reasons for coming to the maul. More often than not it involved accompanying someone else in order to serve as their personal pack-mule. Thankfully, no one has yet to actually use that label when they refer to him because otherwise, they would have to find someone else to carry their things for them. As helpful as Petro was, he had his pride to consider after all. Unfortunately for said pride, Petro had to admit defeat in his most recent goal of finding appropriate minipets for the Sisters. He was a land monster first and foremost. While he can swim a fair amount, diving was a different matter altogether and it wasn't something he can easily pick up. Which was why he was here at the maul. By himself. Staring pensively at the rows of shops, uncertain on where to go or what to do. Until, that is, he spotted a familiar shade of pink! Relieved, the horse boil (sporting his new loincloth, which a certain valkyrie reaper had woven) trotted up to the spider demoness, "Lizzy!"Dragain The palm of her hand was pressed against the glass as she peered in through the window, staring at the most adorable foxfire puppies she had ever seen... Then again, all foxfire puppies were adorable. She was so lost in the sea of fluff that it took her longer than usual to process the fact that someone had just called her name. When she did, however, she turned around, spotting a familiar figure heading in her direction; then again, someone as tall as him was not easy to miss! "Petro!" She smiled, brightening up as she gave the boil a quick hug (really quick though, due to NOT-SO-SUDDENLY MAN CHEST) when he was within hugging range, "What brings you here today?" She was pretty sure that the boil was not a 'maul' type; his new loincloth went unnoticed for now, since... Well, his eyes are up there.

Huni Pi The hug is returned with a gentle pat on the ghoul's pink hair, careful to avoid the newly developed row of spines. It was hard for him to imagine how much Lizzy had changed ever since they returned from the break. But Tro took comfort that it was only appearance-wise and that Lizzy was still very much the bright, bubbly leader-figure he saw her as. "'M looking to get Needle and Lattice a particular minipet. Don't think they got one that ain't from a class," he explained once the demoness distanced herself and asked him what his purpose was. Brown eyes glanced over Lizzy's shoulder towards the petshop she had been looking at earlier and the tall boil couldn't help but frown at the display window. "Y' think this place's got any good ones?" Of course, Tro did forget to mention what particular sort of minipet he was looking for. Dragain While she knew Lattice, she had never met Needle; hearing the two names together though, she assumed that 'Needle' must be the name of the sister Lattice had talked to her about... Wait... "Did Lattice's sister get enrolled too?" She asked, blinking; if that was the case, she must go congratulate Lattice! The last time she spoke to Lattice, the ghoul mentioned that she felt lonely without her sister around. She paused, looking through the window again before heading for the door, pausing right outside the entrance as she gestured at it, "Uh, well... We could go in and look around? What are you looking for anyway...?"Huni Pi Petro stared quizzically at Lizzy when the demoness asked him whether Needle was enrolled. He had assumed since Lizzy knew Lattice, the pink-haired ghoul would have also met the other Engraver. Oops. His mistake then. "Yeah, Needle 's Lattice's sister. Got 'em confused for each other at first but 'm better at telling 'em apart now. And it ain't 'cuz'v the color'v their clothes!" he laughed. He did use that technique the first few times he saw them together but having spent time with both sisters (when they were apart at that!) allowed him to notice the differences between them. How he could have mixed them up in the first place seemed like such an embarrassment to the horse boil now that he thought about it. Following after Lizzy, the tikbalang stepped into the petstore and immediately gave the establishment a quick sweep. "Over there," he pointed towards the aquariums filled with floresces. Maybe there were more aquatic minis? "'M looking for something that's got a lotta ink in 'em." Again, the horse boil was under the assumption Lizzy would understand the logic behind this criteria.

Dragain "Ahhh! I have yet to meet Needle," She nodded, trying to explain why she asked that in the first place, "It's great that she's enrolled now though! I'm sure Lattice must be delighted! Oh?" She blinked, pausing before wondering if they would possibly be identical twins, for Petro to mix them up initially, "Do they look similar?"While she wanted to stop by all the cages to fuss over the many different minipets in them, it did not take much for her to drop the idea when she saw how Petro headed straight to the aquatic section of the store; he must be pretty determined to find that particular minipet! Looking at the many floresce swimming in the tank, Lizzy couldn't help but drift off into lala land for a bit before her attention once again went back to Petro at the mention of ink. "Ink? Ah! That makes sense! What sort of a pet with lots of ink though?" She knew about how Lattice could see ink better, so maybe Needle was the same way? Huni Pi "Y' should meet both of 'em. Apart or together, they're real close with each other. 'M glad both of 'em are Enrolled now," Petro murmured, a hand absently brushing against a series of scars on his back that were once puncture wounds. When he realized what he was doing, he quickly brought his hand back to his side. "Y-yeah, first glance y'd swear there were two'v 'em. But they act different and sound different." Even when both ghouls still spoke in monotone, Tro had learned to distinguish the minute variations between them. Which was a way to tell how much time he's spent with them, more than anything. But rather than going further into this topic of conversation, Tro gladly continued on Lizzy's tangent of minipets. "Dunno myself," he frowned, rubbing his chin in thought, "Think any'v of the cephallatos make ink? The only ones I've seen squirt ice cream... and the red ones..." he chuckled, "Don't let 'em squirt into y'r eye. That ain't any fun." Dragain "Ohhh? I'll have to ask Lattice to introduce me then!" She grinned, clearly excited at the prospect of meeting the ghoul she had heard Lattice spoke so fondly of, "Awww, I'm glad!" She remembered how sad and disappointed Petro was after open house, when he realized that he had no way of contacting the sisters; he must be happy to see them both again! "Into the eye? That sounds... Painful," She frowned, tilting her head as she paused, trying to recall if she had ever seen a minipet squirt ink before. When nothing came up, she smiled sheepishly, "I'm not too sure... Maybe we should ask the shop owner?" If not, they might never find something that might be suitable for both Needle and Lattice.

Huni Pi The horse boil gave Lizzy a knowing grin, "Very. Painful." He watched and waited for Lizzy's wisdom in minipet matters, slightly disappointed when even she couldn't figure out a suitable minipet for the sisters. "Sure, shop owner'd be a good choice to ask." It made sense to the horse boil, after all, whoever was running the store should know what they were selling. It was only common sense. Hopefully, the owner would be knowledgable enough that they could even tell them where they got the mini! Although wouldn't that be going against their intention of making money? Huh. Well, it seems the demon and the monster were going to find out as Petro immediately began to motion for one of the shop boils milling about. Dragain Sadly, Lizzy's knowledge on minipets was limited and she could only offer Petro a sheepish, apologetic smile; at least he was taking her suggestion to ask the shop owner! Her attention drifted briefly to the fish tank again before she turned to look at the approaching shop assistant. "How may I help you today?" He had a bright smile on his face, "Looking for something specific today?" She nodded, glancing at the fish tank behind them, "Other than the floresce, do you have other aquatic minipets for sale? Specifically one that can squirt ink." She looked hopefully at the boil, "We were thinking of cephallatos, but wasn't sure which ones came with ink... If any at all." Maybe all of them just came with ice cream... "Ah! I'm afraid we don't have anything like that in the shop..." He replied with a shake of his head, "Is there nothing else that you want instead...?" He gestured at the other cages, filled with foxfires and berrors and other minipets. Huni Pi Petro could only give a disappointed sigh along with the shake of his head. Then an idea strikes him, "Y' said y' don't got nothing like that in the shop. Do y' know anything that makes its own ink that y' don't got in y'r shop?" The horse boil unconsciously widened his stance, straighting his back until he was standing ramrod straight, arms folded across his bare chest. He wasn't really spoiling for a fight, no, that was a bad idea. But he wanted information and he couldn't help but try to appear that he meant business and he didn't want anyone pulling his leg or sending him on a wild goose chase. He was on a very important mission and Jack help anyone who made things harder for the tikbalang.

Dragain "Hey man, I don't want any trouble!" The shop assistant hissed, bringing up his hands, palms facing Petro as if to say 'whoa, stop' as he frowned, "I'm not a hundred percent sure, but aquatic minipets are found in water, right? Cephallato-types prefer deep, salt water so you might have more luck searching there..." He then shrugged, "You could also try another pet shop, but we're the biggest in the maul." Unlike the shop assistant, Lizzy failed to notice Petro's 'intimidating' stance; perhaps she was used to being around the boil, but more often than not, she found him to be comfortable to be with despite the fact that he could be brash at times, "Ah, thanks!" She smiled before looking at Petro as she made her way out, "Are you going to try looking for them yourself?"Huni Pi Petro clucked his tongue at the shop assistant's reaction and answer, his lips curling in irritation. Was it over how quickly the other halloweener backed down or over how unhelpful he was? "Thanks, I guess," he muttered, quickly turning to follow after Lizzy. He didn't mean to but with the petshop's layout of their tanks and stalls, Tro was forced to shoulder his way past the shop assistant. He muttered a quick apology as he caught up to the pink-haired demoness. "Y' heard what he said. Theirs' the biggest shop in the maul. Looks like 'm gonna have to find some myself," he half-grinned, rubbing the back of his head in thought. "Deep water, eh? Heh. Was afraid of that. Y' don't got like some sorta underwater breathing webbing, do y'?" he asked the ghoul. Dragain "Brute."It might be a good thing that they were already out of the shop by then, and the shop assistant soon went back to attending to his other less intimidating and violent costumers. Outside, Lizzy shook her head, pausing at Peto's question, "I'm afraid not... Although there are a number of aquatic students in the school, right? Maybe you can ask them for some help?" She thought that it was a pretty good suggestion on her part. "Maybe Merope? He - uh, she - is an undead student who might be able to help?" She remembered the then-boil telling her that while he/she was unable to swim in his humanoid form, he/she was more than capable of it in his natural form; then again, he/she might be busy with his/her 'racetrack' project. The only other aquatic student she knew of was... Uh... "Or Calder," She seemed hesitant as she said that, "He's a kelpie... Uh, I would suggest asking Merope first though, with Calder as a last resort." She didn't have very fond memories of the boil, after all.

Huni Pi It was a very good thing Petro had out of earshot when the attendant made that... remark of his. Had the tikbalang heard it, he might actually offer to show the other Halloween just how much of a brute he could be. What? It wasn't as if he had been talking to a ghoul. Petro's brows knitted together as he mulled over the two students Lizzy had suggested. He'd never met Merope before, apart from seeing the undead on groanspring once or twice but he did know Calder. He wasn't aware what exactly what a kelpie was and how that meant the other monster boil would be any good with water-related activities. "Might go ask Merope first since y' think I should. But 'm more familiar with Calder. We're both on the Bruteball team," he explained. "Hey, y' gonna watch the upcoming game?" he suddenly asked. He hoped she would. He was sure he got a couple of responses to the very same question on Groanspring but maybe Lizzy had changed her mind since then? Dragain "Oh, you are?" She seemed surprised, her eyes widening slightly before she smiled, "Ah, I didn't know that both of you are on the Bruteball team! Perhaps Calder would be a better choice then?" She had heard that they had try-outs recently, but she didn't know that Petro went for it... Then again, Petro did seem like a very Bruteball kind of boil, so it made sense for him to tryout! "Now that I know that you're on the team?" She grinned, giving a nod and a thumbs up, "For sure! I'll be there to cheer you and the rest of the Amityville team on!" Huni Pi Petro was nodding enthusiastically now that the topic of conversation had shifted to Bruteball, "Yeah! Even got the spot I wanted. 'M a Running Back. And Hel's on it and Bul too! Y' ever see Bul's real form? Looks way wicked awesome!" There was an eager giddiness in the horse boil's voice as he continued to rattle off the names he remembered reading on the announcement sheet Nukpana had posted on the skulletin board. "We got a good mix'v strong'n fast players," he beamed. "Ah, but 'm probably boring y' about it. Y're gonna see us for y'rself anyway!" he laughed. "Anyway, why're y' here at the maul? Gonna pick up some cloth again?"

Dragain "Ohh!" She was actually rather interested and not at all bored of Petro's More people she knew - vaguely or otherwise - on the Bruteball team! She would have to go cheer them on now! Besides, she hadn't really seen Petro this excited over anything before, and it was rather contagious, evident from the grin on her face. "Ah, no," She shook her head, smiling up at the boil, "I just needed to take a breather from school..." Her smile turned sheepish for a moment, but soon went back to normal, "I think I might head back now though! Are you going back as well?" Huni Pi The tikbalang gave the spider ghoul an easy smile and an approving nod, "Breathers'r good now and then." Of course, it didn't occur to Petro just what exactly about school Lizzy was taking a breather from. He didn't think Lizzy's loss to Jericho for the position of Treasurer was something that would affect the demon. Then again, the concept of voting for their Student Council was still odd to the horse boil who was used to the Elders deciding things for the Clan. "Ain't got no other reason to be here. Do y' mind heading back together," he asked while offering her his arm. Dragain "It is indeed good," She smiled, actually grateful that Petro didn't ask her any questions regarding her reason for being at the maul; she wasn't quite ready to talk about it, and a small part of her wanted to just wait it out... That disappointed feeling had to go away after some time, right? It did, the last time this happened... Then again, she had distractions back then. Giggling softly when he offered his arm, she then took it gratefully, beaming up at the boil, "Sure, why not?" Always a pleasure to spend time with Petro, despite his lack of clothing - although speaking of which, she couldn't help but notice that there was something different about his loincloth. "I see you changed it," She commented, tilting her head as she gestured at the boil's new apparel; hopefully it wouldn't seem like she was gesturing at something else.
