Raziel had no idea how they had managed to set up this battle, he had never met this other student before. The one thing he did know was that he had maybe a fighting chance since the other student was only about as big as he was. In fact, he might of even been slightly larger than the blue boil. Raziel had decided to himself that he was going to show no mercy, though that hardly ever held true if his opponent started to look sad in any way. But he needed to toughen up his empathetic side for the up coming field trip otherwise he was as good as dead.

Jove felt very uncomfortable as he approached the middle of the gym, where his first opponent stood. Sure he had been all enthusiastic over having a chance to prove himself, but having to prove himself against a stranger? He hadn't really seen this student around campus much, what if they totally beat him up? But the boil didn't look too much bigger than himself.
His tail gave a shy wag, testing the waters, per se.

Raziel was ready to begin and without hesitation he aimed a hefty punch at the other kid. His aim was to hit him where it would hurt the most, but he managed to punch him in what felt like the collarbone. Shaking out his unclenched fist, Raziel moved back a step or two and shifted into a more defensive pose waiting for the other boil to take his first shot. He partially wanted to test and see what his opponent could do, but didn't want to end up as a punching bag to figure him out.
With the end of his tail twitching every few moments Raziel called out to the other boil, "Is this your first battle?"

Jove yelped, clearly the tail wagging wasn't going to buy him any friendship here! Perhaps it had been the wrong idea to sign up for a fight, he had much more glamorous notions about the whole scenario. Most of them involving his friends finally realizing he was tougher than they gave him credit for. But that hurt more than any of his notions had predicted!
His lips tightened into a frown as he rubbed his collarbone, and grudgingly gave his opponent a nod. It was his first battle. But he had his fair share of experience, ever since the summer he had been trying just a little bit harder, fighting back when bullies gave him grief, even if that meant making them even angrier.
Summoning up all those memories, Jove darted forward and gave the monster a fierce kick to the shin.

Raziel felt a little better that this was the other boil's first fight too. At least they were ever so slightly evenly matched. He made the mistake of letting his guard down a bit because of that though and the ghost boil came up and gave him a hefty kick in the shin.
Raziel yowled in pain, grabbing his shin with one hand and hopping a little bit to keep from falling over. After a moment of that, he stood again, not putting much pressure on his recently injured leg. His brows were furrowed and he no longer looked happy at all.
For his next move he attempted to spin and slap the boil with his hard tail, but while on one foot to spin he lost his balance and missed his target entirely.

Jove's ears flattened back at the sheer volume of the shouting coming from the other boil. A part of him wasn't even sure he wanted to hurt the monster. But... wasn't that the point of the match?
Caught in a minute of indecision, Jove couldn't summon the courage to follow up with another good hit. So instead he gave his opponent a little shove. Not enough to do any harm, just maybe knock the guy over if he was lucky.

Raziel had since quieted down, his shins were still throbbing a little bit from the hit before, but he could at least stand normal. When the other boil tried to shove him, Raziel was forced to take a step back to keep his balance.
If that shove did anything it only made Raziel's blood boil more. Emitting a low growling noise, Raziel shoved back. But instead of just pushing with his hands, he threw a jabby shoulder into the ghost boil.

Jove yelped as the other boil barreled into him. It didn't have as much force behind it as the members of the bruteball team, any of whom could easily squish the pup flat in one hit, but it still hurt!
He made a little growl of his own as he regained his balance, a sad and pathetic noise by most monster standards. But when he darted forward, he attacked with his sharp little teeth this time.

Raziel almost had to stifle back a giggle when the other boil tried to growl. All of a sudden the ghost kid bit him, snapping his arm out of the kid's mouth, he yelled, "Ow! You bit me?! Oh for Jack's sake!"
He tried to land a significant punch, but missed, only barely grazing the hairs on the boil's nose.

Jove's ears perked up, his expression indignant as the other boil held back a laugh. He was serious! He growled again, this time it was a sound with more heart to it, and a bit more threat.
The punch that barely touched his nose was a bit too close for his liking, and the pup's teeth came together on empty air with a snap noise as he barely missed the monster's arm. Yes, he was a biter. It might have been more effective if Jove had been in his natural form, although that narrowed his range to below the knees.

Raziel was glad as he heard the snap of the other boil's teeth closing on empty air. He had managed to not get bit again by his opponent. "Not one for talking much, are you?" he jeered at the boil.
Trying once again to punch him, Raziel finally landed a hit, this time to the side of the ghost's rib cage. He was moderately pleased with himself, though he did have to shake his hand out from the painful contact with the other boil's rib cage.

Jove scowled. He hated when people brought up his not-talking thing like it was a problem. Especially in that tone of voice. He opened his mouth to retort, but the only thing that escaped was a yelp when the other boil hit him in the side. At least it wasn't his bad side! It wasn't a big hit, but it would have just floored the pup.
He rubbed his sore ribs, and did the best thing a petulant little child could do. He stomped Raziel's tail.

Raziel perked an eyebrow when the kid opened his mouth, too bad nothing came out. "I'll take that as a- YEEOWCH!" The little brat had stomped on his tail. Raziel was done with the small talk, this kid was really starting to grate on his nerves.
Yanking his tail from under the kid's foot, Raziel slipped his own foot between the ankles of the boil and deftly swiped one foot out from under him, causing the puppy to fall to the ground. If he didn't move fast, Raziel was going to take advantage of his vulnerable position.

Jove squeaked again as he went down, unaccustomed to having his feet disappear out from under him. The fall only did a little damage as he landed hard on his back and rump, but it put him in a poor position for a counterattack. The pup flailed a little and then scrambled to his knees.
