* ~:: Sand Trap - The Infamous Amago Haruhisa Incident ::~ *
(Location - Yasogami High School - School Gates)

Cold Afternoon, June 26th, 2012. Yasogami High School - School Gates.

User Image

At the gate of the school waits the guardian of the Amago Forces and perhaps one of the most clever members of their squad. Standing openly in the path and waiting for those who would try to pass from the outside and reach the inside, there is more to him than meets the eye. At his side stands a fierce tiger which always fights by his side, his pet and companion, as deadly if not more so than its skilled and talented master. Those who dare to challenge this gate must have both skill and brains, the combination strong enough to overpower one of the real tacticians amongst this sect of fighter.

Here stands Utsonomiya Hirotsuna, back to prove this time that skills and brains together can indeed overcome all. His scores will be settled in time, but for this warrior, it's all a matter of pride in battle. Ambitions came come after he has established his name amongst the greatest warriors around.

This is the Tale of the Infamous Amago Haruhisa Incident! ...Um, how did it go again?

Jo(shu) seemed to stop as he approached the school gates, noticing an unfamiliar figure around them. He didn't think hall monitors and such would be outside like this......or that there would be tigers around them.
He suddenly felt a lot less great about his idea to return to class, wondering if he should just sneak off. Not that the Tiger scared him. Oh no, he'd seen tigers. And Bears. .....Giant...fire breathing...demon bears.
But it wasn't something he figured was suppossed to be there.

"Didn't know hall monitor duty let you have pets." he stated plainly, and perhaps stupidly. Maybe he was just there to keep anyone from leaving school? ....Like Him and Amelia had? Jeez, if so, it was a bit much. Sure, truancy was an issue, but he didn't think it was that bad.

Naoto Shirogane
The Detective Prince of Inaba

Sometimes she wondered why she had to have that sense of 'something is going wrong somewhere.'

Naoto Shirogane had been wandering Inaba, repeating what she'd been doing for a while now. She needed clues. Hints. Anything. She wasn't sure where the others were. Maybe some of them were doing the same thing as her. Trying to track down their missing leader. As used to mysteries like this that Naoto was, the fruitless search was getting to her a little bit. She walked up the road of the flood plain path to school, a contemplating frown on her face as she rummaged through the memories of what she knew so far.

It didn't last that long. She stopped, spotting...well, first of all, she spotted the school. But there was something off about it. What? She walked up calmly next to where another boy had arrived, staring at what they were both looking at now. A tiger and his supposed master. At least, from what she could see. She could also see the intent on not letting neither her nor the other pass into the school. I need to get in there... This wasn't going to be easy. She was almost entirely sure that if anyone else had gotten here just now as well, and from the blank looks on their faces, that they knew as much as she did. Naoto adjusted her hat a little bit, before stepping forward some. "State your name and your purpose here." She asked, straight to the point. There was no point in wasting time here, in the middle of this potential threat.

Hirotsuna Utsonomiya, Ambitious Samurai...and His Tiger

Guarding the gate was getting boring...but he knew that it was probably the most important job of this entire mission, so it was a natural that he would volunteer for it personally. Nobody gets in, nobody gets out...it was a simple order and he was pleased to have the chance to show how excellent he was not just at following orders and doing a job, but if he did have to come into conflict with someone, preferably of the Shogun's forces, he could really show off what he and his tiger were capable of doing! ...Young, ambitious, skilled, and smart, these were all words that could somewhat accurately describe Hirotsuna Utsonomiya, the youngest and perhaps most naive amongst the Amago troop that had come to claim the school. He stood before the gate with his tiger, resting a hand lazily atop the large, white and black-striped beast's head as he waited for somebody to show up. A sigh escaped him...when were the Shogun's forces supposed to show, anyway? "Don't worry, Tiger...there's no way we're not going to get some action in like this. Amago's plan is bulletproof; one way or another, Motonari Mori's going to have to show his face when he finds out about this," he encouraged his pet, though perhaps it was as much for himself as the tiger, and as if on cue, that was when a pair of newcomers made their way up the road one at a time. Excitement gripped him as he wrapped his fingers around his spear tightly...only to be disappointed when he saw school uniforms instead of military ones. "Aww man..." the warrior shrugged a bit, remembering his training on patience and took a breath. Then, stepping forward from the gate, he held out a hand firmly to those who sought entrance.

"Sorry, I'm not one of these 'Hall Monitors' you're thinking of...I'm just here to protect the gate. And right now, you guys can't go inside until the Shogun shows up to meet with our leader. Or until our leader decides to leave. It's something like that," he explained coolly, before catching the question of the other girl...who conveniently, just had about half of her question answered, "Huh, me? I suppose you wouldn't recognize me yet...but you will, one day! My name's Utsonomiya Hirotsuna of the Utsonomiya Clan. But right now, I'm working together with Amago Haruhisa of the Amago. We're former Devil Kings, part of the branch of the military that was wrongly accused of attacking the Emperor, or we were until Motonari Mori set us up to get kicked out of there like some sort of traitors. ...Anyway, we're just looking for a girl who can help us turn the tables on that man. So don't mind us. Hang around outside and enjoy the day off, or...something."

Naoto Shirogane
The Detective Prince of Inaba

Naoto listened as Hirotsuna spoke of who he was and what he and his apparent group were doing here. Words caught her attention. Shogun? Motonari? Naoto examined him carefully. So they were here to find her, then. Prior, just standing out here wasn't on her agenda, but now that things were a little bit clearer, she was more determined than before to get in there. "If it is who I'm thinking of that you're looking for, I'm afraid I can't take that as an option." Naoto said, carrying herself awfully confidently, despite that to anyone else she looked outmatched. "Just what are the Amago's intentions with her?"

She wasn't putting off a threatening front. Not until she needed to defend herself. There was also the other spectator nearby who had gotten here just before she did. But she needed to get answers, and also try to figure out a way around this obstacle. All she had on her was her revolver, and her mind. If she could do it many times before, she could do it again now. But she needed to know just what they wanted with Minori. It was bad enough they had to worry about Mori deciding to look for her.

Aselia Bluespirit

Tug, tug. "Nn." a girl said, tugging on Naoto's sleeve. The girl doing the tugging wasn't quite known to all of the Investigation Team very much; she only occasionally showed up to interact with them, but they had been introduced. In particular, Aselia was the girlfriend of one of the team's members, and possessed some fair degree of power of her own... which might have explained part of why she was aware of pretty much everything her boyfriend did with the team. In particular (and Naoto was more likely than the others to remember such details), Aselia was a member of the ultra-nationalist organization known as the Yatagarasu, and effectively a minion of Raidou Kuzunoha the XIX, Soji's occasional ally in the fight against the forces of madness. All of which meant, put together, that she wasn't totally an unknown entity... and it was probably a good thing that this was the case, because the girl didn't often speak so much as she vocalized a noise with a startling variety of inflection. She'd really only been here at the school to hang out with her boyfriend during lunch before going back home, but heading home had just gone out the door as a possibility, more or less. With this many enemies, flying away would probably just make her a target... "Nn." the girl vocalized again, determinedly this time... and making it apparent that if Naoto wanted some backup for something, she'd have it. An opponent like this probably wasn't going to back down very easily, and there was no way that Aselia was going to let her boyfriend's companions fight alone if there was anything she could do about it.

Jo(shu) almost let out a sigh at assuring himself of his view. Yes, there was in fact, a Tiger standing at the front of the gate. Alongside a kid who seemed to be from somewhere else.
"Not a hall monitor..." he pierced together things, before hearing about what he was. Former Devil King? As in, the people Amelia knew and were seen with a lot? Not to mention how he so openly remarked on some guy named Mori, saying they were set up to get kicked out of hte Devil Kings. Was that Dragon Guy with them? He sure hoped not.....
"Will any girl do, or is there one in particular?" he called, plainly. "Cuz I'm sure there's a few ladies you could proposition that would be alright with being used to help.....turn the tables on any man."

He seemed to be jesting at a time like this, as if baiting the man. Clearly, people didn't surround a school, and close off acess without a reason. Not to mention the two people that were now there with him. Some girl that said "Nn" and someone he recognized as the fabled 'Detective Prince'. Straight laced, serious, and to the point. Seems just like someone with a title like that. Despite this, he kept his fingers loose, and his body could be seen idly twitching. Was it in fear, or Anticipation of things to come? Hard to tell, with someone like him.

"I think I left my backpack in the school earlier.....could you go get it for me then? I'll give you my homeroom and everything." he added once again to the Spear wielding "Devil King", clearly ignoring the fact the boy had no intention of letting them pass.

Naoto Shirogane

Naoto's attention was temporarily diverted from the man when she felt a tug on her sleeve and heard some sort of sound. She turned her head, finding out what was doing that. Oh. "Bluespirit-san?" She...didn't really know a lot about her, other than she was apparently in a relationship with their investigation teammate, and at that, an ally. By the time she did it again, Naoto nodded. "You want to help? All right. We need to get into the school, and I'm certain that he's going to be very persistent in not letting us by." She observantly said, before glancing at the other boy. She couldn't tell if he was really that ignorant to the possible danger, but either way, none of them were going to be questioning it in a minute.

She looked at Hirotsuna and waited for an explanation for him like she had asked, if he was even going to give her one. She wasn't entirely sure how much information they would, or could, give. But she didn't want to start a fight right away if she could at least get a bearing on why this was happening in the first place. Besides, she needed to think.

Hirotsuna Utsonomiya, Ambitious Samurai...and His Tiger

If it was the girl that she thought it was? He hadn't thought he had given any hints at any girl other than the one it actually was, so did that mean that this girl had already deduced who it was they were looking for? Impressive logic, the samurai had to admit; thinking for a moment about her question, he decided that there really was no reason to be dishonest about things. Even if Amago had done things in a rather brash and dramatic fashion, it didn't mean that the rest of them had to forget their manners. After all, they might have seemed it, but they weren't really the bad guys here! At least, their intentions weren't bad. "Well if you really want to know, we kind of want to use her as a hostage. It's not like we want to hurt her, just keep her until we can lure Mori out into the open or make him vulnerable. After all, it's not like even he would attack his own fiancee...or at least, that's what we're betting on," the spearman explained with much more certainty than the others, as it was he who had brainstormed much of this plan together with Amago. Being one of the more clever members of the group, it was easy for him to realize exactly why they were doing the things that they did, and what their goals truly were. They were setting themselves up as the villains for the greater good of the country, and perhaps they might not go down in the history books as heroes, it was a chance for Utsonomiya Hirotsuna to make a positive mark on history. "Well, either way, this is pretty much the only plan we could come up with that has any chance of success...and against someone like him, you can't just use your fists. You've got to use your brains."

Perhaps it was coincidence that at that point Jo(Shu) made his attempt at deception, which was a rather poor one. Naive he might have been, but Hirotsuna wasn't stupid. "Sorry guy, but there's only one person we're looking for," he declined the question calmly, before scratching his chin and asking, "...and what do you mean, 'turn the tables'? Who was talking about tables?" He shrugged and twirled his spear idly; lowering his hand to the tiger's head again, he frowned at the next obvious attempt at tricking him. "You know, it's kind of insulting you think I'd fall for something that obvious. Are you trying to pick a fight with me?"

"Obvious? I'm serious, I left my bag in class." he noted, with a slightly more serious tone. "It's nothing special, but it does have a few important things, so it would be reaaaaaaaaally helpful if you could go get it."

Well, if anything, he was sucessfully pissing the guy off. Perhaps it was the sleep deprivation talking, but Jo(shu) seemed to think that was a good thing.
"Picking a fight? Oh whatever could you mean?" he remarked, with a mock surprised tone. "I just figured that since we're not allowed to head in, that you could relay it to one of your men to go get it, and like, toss it out the window or something. That way no one gets in trouble, yeah?"
Perhaps he was genuinely concerned with his bag. It had all of his things in it.....

Or, he could just be seeing if he could get the drop on this particular person.
"Maybe while you're inside, looking for that....whomever?"

The brown haired senior seemed strangely insistent on getting his bag, disregarding the face of the matter stating that they'd 'kidnap' someone to lure out that Shogun guy. Either that, or some other guy named Mori who pissed them off. He had a feeling it was the former. And despite all of this, he seemed to be idly flinching about, as if preparing for something to strike at them, or purely because he was being very shaky, even with the strangely quiet girl, and Naoto beside him.

Naoto Shirogane
The Detective Prince of Inaba

Naoto narrowed her eyes a bit. Take her as a hostage? In hopes to lure Mori out? As good as she supposed they thought their intentions were, there were serious repercussions in deciding they were going to chance the safety of a young girl in a plan they didn't even look or sound too certain about. "And what if all of your theories turn out to be wrong and someone gets hurt? It sounds like you don't really mean harm, but in truth none of you can even really state if she's going to come out of such a plan unharmed and safe." She understood having to use your intelligence in such a situation. Mori was in a great deal of power right now, and that made him all the harder to target.

But Naoto couldn't just allow them to try and take a girl from her school and use her for something so dangerous, at least, not without putting up a fight first. She glanced at Jo(shu) as he spoke. From the dialogue between them, a fight wasn't too far off either. Naoto briefly glanced at Aselia, then at Hirotsuna. He was looking just a little bit irate already, which could spell trouble for all three of them.

Aselia Bluespirit

Tug, tug. "Nn." Aselia pointed into the school, towards the track and field area, where a number of students had been taken hostage. It wasn't just Minori they had to be worried about; whatever his motivations, the leader of those who had come to attack a school had kidnapped and threatened to kill schoolchildren. Innocent schoolchildren, who had no way to defend themselves and had done nothing to wrong the group of samurai. They had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and regardless of whether or not Minori came out of all this still safe somehow, it was growing more likely with each passing minute that other people would not be so lucky. How could you take their assurances of safety at face value when they were demonstrating the belief that murdering children to achieve their goals was an acceptable act? Who was to say they wouldn't kill Minori the moment they thought they had something to gain from it? In the confusion over an attack by Mori, they might just be able to get away with doing it and then blaming it on him... Well, she was going to follow her boyfriend's companion for now, but Aselia didn't seem to be very trusting of the tiger-befriending warrior...

Hirotsuna Utsonomiya, Ambitious Samurai...and His Tiger

"Yeah...right. Go try that on somebody else. You're clearly just spoiling to make me mad, but I'm not biting," the tiger-tandem fighter answered Jo(Shu) frankly, finding his entire charade to be pretty silly altogether, somewhat insulting, but that was clearly the intent at this point. Hirotsuna wasn't going to react that easily...he was here doing a job, and what sort of samurai would he be if he put aside his mission to teach some high school kid who was too stupid to quit flapping his gums about manners? And he didn't really want to fight a bunch of kids, anyway. His job, like the other four aside from Amago, was to ensure that the number of people who got hurt through all of this was kept to a minimum. To that end, he wasn't sure he was doing quite as good of a job as the others probably were; it would take somebody seriously offensive to spur Anegakoji into fighting, and Satake was honorable enough he wouldn't fight unless a blow was thrown against him or they tried to rush the door. Nanbu...well, they couldn't really guess what he might do. That guy was kind of crazy. And Amago, well...they just had to trust in him. He was the only one with the strength right now to oppose Mori if and when he appeared before them. But none of them mattered at the moment, not when it seemed like these kids were already turning on him. "Nothing's for certain, you've got that right. But she's not the only one whose life is going to be on the line...ours are already out there. And think about the big picture...if risking one person's life is enough to protect the entire country, don't you think it's worth the risk?" he asked a bit more enthusiastically, trying his best to make them see their point, why they had to do this, and why it was worth it...before adding, "And don't you think once we explain the situation to the girl, she might actually want to help us? I don't know why she's marrying that guy, but if we explain to her the type of things he's capable of, maybe she'll be on our side!"

Now there was an argument that nobody else had considered, showing a bit of the quick wit that he prided himself on. Everybody was so fast to jump to the defense of the girl, that nobody had considered yet whether or not she might actually consider going with them if she were only brought forth to listen to what they had to say? Naturally, she was probably not interested now, hiding maybe, as their dramatic, frightening, but admittedly necessary entrance had no doubt spooked her (and the entire student body). And the threats that Amago had levied were not to be ignored, not even by his own people. However...here he was by the gate, pleading his case to a bunch of kids, and yet silly as it was if he could win them over to his side at least somewhat, maybe they could get out of this whole thing without violence after all? Though he really could use the opportunity to test his skills and warm up before the finale against the Shogun's men...these weren't really the types of enemies he wanted to make his name on.

"Why don't you just wait and see what she decides to do, first? And if she doesn't want to go, then we can have it out..." he suggested slowly, perhaps a minor, purposeful jab at the loudmouth as he glanced in his direction. Though he didn't want to fight these guys after all...if he had to, he'd be sure to take out that one first.

Jo(shu) sighed at the Samurai, shaking his head as if hearing one of Eido's 'ideas'.
"Fine...fine...Whatever.." he stated, shrugging his shoulders as he stated his own viewpoint on the matter, saying how he wanted to get the girl on their side. Perhaps if they explained themselves to her?
"Listen, I'm not saying that's not a well thought out plan or anything.." he stated, not missing the last comment, "But, don't you think there'd be a better way to talk to the girl? Like, get her cell phone number or something. No need to take a whole School hostage. Maybe invite her out to dinner or something." Despite the seriousness of the conversation, he still seemed to remain light in his gesutres.

"I wouldn't want to fight someone like you anyways. I'm a little too old for petty squabbles like that."

Naoto Shirogane
The Detective Prince of Inaba

Naoto glanced at Aselia, then at the fields, still in view. Looked like there were situations like this one going on in various places of the school. Of anything, this was a less dangerous spot to be. Naoto wasn't sure about the other locations. "One person's life? How are you certain than your leader and his other men aren't putting the other students of this school in danger as well?" She wasn't unaware of the kidnapping from before, Minori was likely very aware of at least enough things to know Mori wasn't a choice man. "What if waiting is exactly what's putting more than just her life in danger?" Naoto's hand fell to her side and she unbuttoned the cover to her holster, though not reaching for any weapons just yet. "I'm sorry, but I really do not intend on waiting here to figure that out. I would rather this not turn dangerous, but if I have to challenge you to get inside of the school, I will."
