Celosia was standing on the hard, cracked, ground where water had once been. All grown up now, she was now officially a water seeker. No surprise, since when the drought started she had searched, even as a cub, for the missing water.

Looking at one dark spot in the center of the dried pool, she let out a sigh. Just a little too late it seemed. But it gave her hope. She figured she'd sit here and rest for a little while before moving on. She'd been out searching for the last couple of days. She wondered if her other and father were worried...? Of course they were. Celosia was the dainty little princess. They'd worry about their little princess, no doubt, and complain that it was so cruel that one as delicate and beautiful as she should be out doing such grueling work!

Okay, so Celosia had a bit of a delusional ego. She was, at the very least, kind hearted when it mattered.

Celosia's ears perked, and she lifted her head up to look for the source of the voice.

"Hello!"

Celosia was always happy to be around others. perhaps because of her fondness for playing make-beleive in her mind. Indeed, everyone was her loyal subjects, and she the fair lady sneaking away from the kingdom, and she'd just been caught! Oh no!

"Seeking~ Always seeking.." She said melodramatically, complete with the back of a paw placed against her forehead. "But this is a good sigh...I think." She said, gesturing to the dark spot in the otherwise parched earth where water had once been.

Celosia put on a pouty face. "Well how come!? They should share! And why are they allowed in to the pride with conditions such as they are!?"

She stomped her foot, kicking up dust as she did so. It just didn't make sense. It wasn't smart. And why would anyone new want to stay knowing the conditions? Just...UGH! Obviously she was one of the few with a brain here.

"No one saw what they were protecting when they were found?" Celosia's face scrunched. "In times like these, I don't think we should be p***y-footing around. There should be a full blown interrogation. Things are geetting desperate, and we can't afford new thirsts to quench."

Oppinion, the girl had one. Princess though she might try to be, she could be harsh. So while on one hand she might be a bit of a shame to the firekin, on the other she did the old ways proud. What happened to the stories she used to be told about the ruthless ferocity of the Firekin that sparked a war and left the pride devided for so long? What happened to their pride?

"If they attacked and have information vital to us, then that information should be extracted by any means necessary." She stuck her nose up in the air and 'hmph'ed. "I hear torture can be very effective."

A tactician? No. Ethical? Not hardly. But then again, just how much did it seem like she really cared for ethics and tact when it meant the survival of her family and pride.

"So, 'wait and see?'" Well then, she hoped they were deprived of water. Members of their own pride were lucky these days to get their portion. Celosia wouldn't stand to have her share cut because of these new-comers.

"Whatever. I'm going to keep looking for water. Just in case we do have to provide for these nuisances."

It was then she began stalking off.

Celosia stopped and looked back at the older lioness from over her shoulder.

"Very well then. We'll look later."

Perhaps it was best to let Celosia ruminate on things for a while. Then her innate cruelty and relatively shorter fuse would have time to cool down. Hopefully. No doubt the young water seeker would fuss and fume aloud to herself as she sought the precious water, but maybe that venting would help.

But she would not forget. Indeed, later they would go looking.
