Destiny City had a lot of problems, Sessrumnir was quickly finding out. Ever since arriving back in the city and starting his teaching job, things have just gotten stranger and stranger. Heck, he hadn't even had the time to really relax and enjoy his time off duty for the first time since he turned eighteen! What he wouldn't give to hit up a bar and maybe not know the girl who woke up in his bed the next morning, except perhaps her name of course.
But no, there was no time for things like that. There were monsters out and civilians to protect. Sessrumnir wasn't really complaining, though. He found out fairly quickly that he could jump higher and run faster than ever before. All the training and boot camps and drills in the Navy would have been a breeze if he'd only been able to power up and use his new found super powers. Of course, he also realized the risk for being involved in something like this, and he was being especially careful not to let anyone find out who he was or where he lived. The last thing he wanted was his fun being cut short.
He'd even taken some time to research the strange 'weapon' that had appeared the first time he'd powered up. He'd known what a storm glass was, but he'd never used one before. They were kind of primitive and inaccurate when compared to the technology they had today. Sure, ships back hundreds of years ago would have found a storm glass useful, but as a weapon, he was sure he could cause a pretty decent concussion if he hit the monster just right.
For now, though, he took to scanning the alleyways from the rooftops, enjoying the rush he got from jumping from building to building. No longer than about an hour into his watch, he picked up what felt very similar to the monsters he'd fought before, and was drawn to the spot.
Sure enough, down in a dark alley was a youma. An oversized chicken with not very many feathers, from the looks of it.
Sessrumnir grinned at the opportunity and swung his legs over the edge of the building before dropping down. If only he could teach his students how to fight instead of how to build robots...

Youma hunting was growing increasingly easier, and much preferred to encountering random Negaverse agents, though there was always a chance of that happening whenever he chose to power up and head out through the city for a while. Ganymede did his best to steer clear of that sort of danger, and was generally able to manage it, at least when he paid attention to his surroundings and made use of his ability to sense various forms of energy.
Tonight, he'd been enjoying a night of relatively uneventful patrolling by himself -- so uneventful, in fact, that it was almost boring, and he'd considered calling someone for a little company -- and was two seconds away from turning for home when his senses were piqued by a youma a few blocks away. It didn't appear to be alone for long, as Ganymede then felt the energy he recognized by now as being from a knight.
Curiosity got the better of him. He wondered if his help would even be needed, though some youma had the tendency to be rather ferocious, and he thought it felt more like a page, like Val, than someone of a higher reading. They might not be able to handle it on their own if it turned out to be an especially tricky one. Maybe it was Val. He was close to his area of town, and he knew the page tended to go out more nights than not, at least for a little while.
It wasn't. He noticed that right away, as soon as he came to the mouth of the alley, but whoever it was was wearing green, and that was enough to attract Ganymede's attention. Val wore green. Did any of the others knights wear green? He couldn't recall seeing any.
"Need any help there?" he called out, checking out the youma while he was at it. Some sort of a half bald, deformed chicken. Gross...

Sessrumnir glanced up curiously when he caught the energy of a senshi close by, and took a moment to look around for the source. His eyes caught sight of the young man when he heard him speak up, and he didn't try very hard to hold back his amused, forced grimace. "Wow, you have it worse than I do," he commented, glancing over the senshi's outfit before turning his attention back to the youma that was now squawking at them.
"Think you could?" he wondered, curious as to whether a little senshi like the one close by could actually help with a youma. Well, he was a senshi, right...? He had to have magic and some experience. "How do you think we could take it down?" he wondered, circling around the creature as it lunged out to try and snap at him, and then turn to head for the senshi.
He hadn't met more than a couple senshi, but their outfits got more and more interesting with each appearance. This one looked like he wanted to be some burlesque dancer, but the sequence was missing. It wasn't the worst he could imagine, though, and he didn't really have much room to talk with his long sleeves and girly chain hanging from his belt. He held out his hand though, pulling the weapon that was really just an old school barometer of sorts, out of subspace. It was a convenient little discovery he'd made. Quite convenient to store his weapon.
This super hero thing was fun trying to transition into. He liked getting challenges.

Ganymede didn't pay any attention to the curious glances or amused expressions being thrown his way. After doing this for months, it was sort of something he had to grow used to. It barely even phased him anymore, though he wished they'd save it for after the fact instead of making a point to stare in the midst of a battle. It got pretty annoying, and sometimes downright distracting.
"Sure thing, hot stuff," he said, keeping his ground as the deranged chicken youma began to come his way. He let it charge, all precariously hanging, crumpled feathers and flailing wings, and ducked aside at the last second to let it soar right passed him, sticking a foot out to catch it in its scaly, spindly legs and watching as it fell to the floor of the alley, squawking all the while.
"Usually it's just a matter of beating it enough," he added, lashing out with a swift kick in the youma's back. Ganymede wondered how new this guy was, or if he thought he didn't know what he was doing. "This one doesn't look all that terrifying. Unless you count its beak. It'd probably hurt if it bit us. Those talons on its feet don't look fun either, so watch out for those."
It was flailing around on the ground, trying to get back up, and in an effort to avoid its clawed feet -- which he couldn't imagine it being able to use when it was actually standing right-side-up -- Ganymede stepped to the side and glanced around as he always did for something to strike it with.

Sessrumnir watched, intrigued as the senshi went to work, tripping up the bird and then advising him what to look out for. So this one has at least been around for a while, huh? It certainly seemed as thought he knew what to do. His energy was different from the other senshi he'd met, too. Stronger, somehow. Maybe after a while their power levels raised...? It seemed silly and convenient, or maybe this senshi really was stronger than the average person. Maybe he got special abilities in exchange for the ridiculous outfit.
The knight moved to the side as the bird finally got back to its feet. It hissed as it jumped into the air, clearly trying to attack the both of them with its talons, but being so big and in such a small alleyway, it was easy to just duck behind a dumpster to get out of its way.
"Looking for something, Babydoll?" he called over to him, picking up what looked like half of an old plant stand that was obviously broken and probably thrown out because of it. Not the best weapon of choice, but it was better than a storm glass, and better than whatever magic the senshi had and didn't seem like he was planning on using. "Catch," he called, tossing the plant stand towards the senshi, before he turned around to see where the youma was and what he could do to bring it down.
It caught sight of the movement and lunged to attack, but Sessrumnir just turned to kick it back towards the now (hopefully) armed senshi. "All yours."

He deftly avoided the talons, ducking to the side for a few moments and finding shelter until the youma could no longer keep itself airborn and landed back on the ground. Cautiously, Ganymede stepped out in front of it again, arching a brow at the page's nickname but taking the offered broken plant stand. It was a bit awkward to weird, at least compared to a tree branch or some sort of piping, but it was good enough under the circumstances.
"Thanks," he said, maneuvering himself to be within striking distance while trying to stay out of the way of the youma's beak. It tried to peck at him a few times, and though he managed to avoid it each time, it got a bit tedious having to continue to dodge.
After a rather loud squawk and a lunge of its mouth that came too close for comfort, severing one half of his draped collar so that it split into two pieces and no longer hung down his upper arm, Ganymede chanced a bit of magic. "Tantalizing caress," he whispered, hoping to time it just right.
There was always the chance that his magic would have some adverse effect, and so he watched carefully. The youma stumbled and seemed to grow a bit dazed, its head swiveling around in the air as if it were looking for something. Then, it bent forward and crouched over and started pecking at the ground as if it were searching for food. Ganymede reared with the plant stand, lifting it high over his head, and brought it down hard on the back of the youma's head, sending it careening into the ground with a loud clack of its beak against pavement.
He took a few steps back and glanced over at the page again. "Seems about done," he observed, sparing a few moments to study his company a little more closely and decide that he wasn't bad looking. "Would you like the honors?"

"Not bad, Babydoll," he said, although it didn't sound jeering or cat-calling. Just a casual comment. The magic the senshi used was, well... he didn't know what it did, but apparently it had done the trick and kept the creature distracted enough to get a hit in. Sessrumnir moved up when the kill was offered to him, placing his foot on the bird's back so he could lean down and swiftly break its neck. There was no need to torture it. They just wanted to kill it and prevent it from hurting anyone else.
The youma bust into dust, disguising the sound of the snap, and Sessrumnir straightened back up, turning to the senshi with a hand out. "Thanks for the help," he said with a small wink. Yeah, he could have probably taken the monster on by himself, but why not grab another and tag team? They were all doing this together, right? No point in not pooling resources. "And who are you?" he asked, looking the senshi over curiously again. Definitely interesting outfit.
Although, it wasn't like he wasn't covered in a strange outfit as well, with delicate chains and Jupiter's symbol in various places. It reminded him a little of a brand, but he figured it was just a way of determining who was who among knights... If there were more like him, of course. He hadn't met any others, just yet.

Ganymede stood back enough to allow the page some room while he went to work, approaching again only once the youma was gone. Without such a large creature taking up most of the room in the alley and with the action done, he could take his time looking the other man over, and he couldn't help but appreciate what he saw. He didn't think he could see a tall, dark, and handsome man without finding them attractive in some manner, and this one wasn't any different.
He arched a brow again at the nickname but said nothing about it. Instead, he smiled in response to the wink and took the proffered hand. "Isn't it more polite to introduce yourself first before asking for names?" he teased.
He looked closer while he still had the man's hand, from the cut of his hair to every perfect line and angle of his face, and then down to the outfit he was wearing -- green, grey and brown, with long sleeves and a sash about his waist, and fur on his boots. This close up, he was able to see the tiny symbols that decorated the outfit in certain areas -- at his shoulders, hanging from the chain around his waist -- and he recognized it as the very same symbol that adorned Valhalla's belt. The symbol for Jupiter.
Immediately surprised and intrigued, Ganymede leaned a bit closer -- perhaps invading his personal space -- to get a better look, just in case he wasn't seeing it clearly. But he was. Right there, the symbol for Jupiter, gleaming off of both corner's of the page's square cut neckline.
He glanced back up at him with an entirely different sort of interest from before. He was still attractive, of course, but now there was the added Jovian connection to go along with it.
"I'm Super Sailor Ganymede, Senshi of Lust," he introduced himself with a wide, inviting smile. "And you are? A Page of Jupiter, aren't you? What should I call you?"

Sessrumnir flashed the young man a charming sort of smile at his jest about introductions, before staring at him curiously when he leaned in suddenly. Not that he cared. He didn't have much of a bubble needed for personal space, anyway.
He grinned when the introduction was made, either way, amused by the look of interest on Ganymede's face. "Do you want my number or my name?" he joked, not thinking his comment was that big of a deal, especially not with the way the senshi was looking him over. "Sessrumnir," he answered after a few moment, and then looked down at his own clothes. "I was never really into astronomy," he admitted, releasing Ganymede's hand as he looked up to smile right back. "But yes. I'm a Page of Jupiter." Obviously some people knew what these symbols meant.
"Never heard of a Ganymede, though. I thought Sessrumnir was some kind or Norse thing." He was never really into mythology, either. There was no real reason for him to learn about mythos and the stars, anyway. He was more interested in technology of the future than stories of the past.
"Senshi of Lust?" he repeated, clearly intrigued. "This is going to be an interesting life, isn't it? This whole being a knight thing, I mean."

"Your number'd be fine, too. I happen to be back on the market," Ganymede replied, finally letting go of the page's hand once the introduction had been returned.
So he was right. Of course he was right. He'd know that symbol anywhere. He'd known just enough about mythology to know where his name came from when he'd first awakened. Anything more than that he'd learned in bits and pieces since then, after looking up what he could online, basic information without any mention of senshi or the worlds that had once been, but enough for him to recognize who he needed to when he came across them.
The name "Sessrumnir" immediately rang a bell, not because of anything he'd seen in his brief and limited research, but from a day up at the Surrounding with Valhalla, and a globe of Jupiter marked with a certain name.
So this was him. This was the other knight -- one other knight. There had to be more, he was sure, others that would crop up eventually should all this fighting continue.
"If by 'interesting' you mean 'difficult' and 'terrifying,' yes," he said, stepping back enough to put at least a marginal amount of space between them, but remaining close enough to continue studying the other man. "I'm going to assume you're relatively new to this. Probably trying to tough it out on your own, meeting people when you happen to come across them but otherwise not doing much to bring too much attention to yourself?"
It was a familiar enough pattern of behavior, but one he didn't have to continue.
"Ganymede was one of Zeus's lovers," he told him. "Zeus, Jupiter, they're the same person. All of Jupiter's moons are named after his lovers, attempted lovers, and some of his daughters who, considering Greek myth, could have been one and the same for all I know. As I'm sure you can guess," he continued, that same inviting smile still on his face, "that means I'm from a moon of Jupiter. The biggest moon. It's pretty impressive. There are more of us, too. Other moons. Another knight. His name's Valhalla. He wears that same symbol you do," he said, pointing to one of the silver shoulder charms inscribed with Jupiter's mark.

"Are you?" Sessrumnir asked, showing his curiosity with a little glance over the young man, and gave him a wink once his eyes returned to his face. He had a pretty face, that was for sure, and it wasn't like he'd never had a fling with a guy before. Sure, he was probably half drunk and it only lasted a night, but who knew. He was always up for some fun.
He was brought back from his thoughts when Ganymede spoke up again, and his grin faltered just a little. Okay, so maybe there were worse things than just youma to deal with, but he'd never had to worry about that before. He'd only ever seen three youma and three senshi. It wasn't much he could go off of, after all. And of course he'd been off on his own without drawing attention to himself. Why would he be bothered with others except when it came to saving them?
His curiosity peaked again when Ganymede explained the relevance of his interest in him. It was because they were both 'Jupiter', huh...? That was interesting enough to know. Even more so when the senshi mentioned that there was another knight named Valhalla.
"Sessrumnir is one of the three places people went when they died in Norse mythology," he shared. He'd researched his name, of course, but now he was interested in the fact that there were others. "Warriors who died in battle were taken by the Valkyries to Valhalla and Odin's rule. The rest who died in battle, or were killed because of war were taken by Valkyries to Sessrumnir and Freya's rule. The rest went to Hel," he said, and then paused with a shrug. "They're just stories, though. What? Because you're from a moon of Jupiter you think we're meant to work together?"

"'Meant to,' maybe. 'Have to,' no. Not if you don't want to," Ganymede told him, propping one hand on his hip at they conversed, not at all shy about the looks he was receiving, or even the ones he was still giving in return. "But the rest of us have gotten together, or as many of us as we know are out there. There could be more. We don't know. We sort of grab people as we see them."
Should he even bother trying to convince this guy to join them? He hardly knew him, and he wasn't showing much interested in anything aside from what he was seeing. Ganymede didn't think he seemed all that inclined show his face to the others if he didn't have to. It wasn't laziness, he didn't think. Confidence, maybe? Did he think he could do it all on his own? Maybe he could. People were different, but the idea of him wandering around the city on his own with no one to turn to when things got bad -- and they would at some point -- prevented him from keeping his silence.
"You don't seem all that serious about this yet," he continued, lowering his hand back down and clasping them both behind his back as he leaned closer again, "and that's fine. I guess you've had it easy. Probably taken on a few youma, proven you're a big, tough man, and maybe you are, I bet you are, but there's going to be a time when that isn't enough, and that's what the Jovians are here for, to help each other when help is needed, to protect the ones who can't protect themselves, and to stand for something that's worth standing for."
He had no idea if he was making any sort of an impression. The only person he'd ever recruited had been Valhalla, and that had been easy enough, given that he and Val tended to do a lot together anyway. Even still, the presence of another Jovian knight was exciting. They were growing in number. Maybe if they grew enough, they could do some very real good in the world.
"There's already about a dozen of us. Eight of us are legit Jovians, nine now if we include you, but there's two others, a senshi and another knight, not from Jupiter, who've joined up with us. Then there's two cats, one who's definitely with us and another I'm not sure I should include, but she was at the first meeting so I guess it's worth mentioning. We're supposed to meet again at some point. I could let you know when it's going to be if you're interested in seeing what it's all about."

Sessrumnir lifted his arms to cross over his chest as Ganymede went on his speech about the seriousness of everything and needing help and feeding him what could be taken, well... in a lot of different ways.
"You didn't seem that interested in me until you found out that I was a Jupiter knight," he pointed out, knowing the difference between interest of a physical kind and a more sincere interest. Ganymede hadn't really thought of him as a potential ally until he noticed the symbols on his uniform or whatever the hell he was wearing. "Sounds like the start of some kind of well rehearsed propaganda to me," he added, looking at the young man curiously still. Sessrumnir didn't look like he was concerned about anything, but he also didn't look convinced.
"First off, you barely even know me. How do you know I'm not working for whoever the other side is...? And second... why the hell should I care that there are cats at your meetings?" That sounded completely random to him. Why should he care about cats?? Was that some kind of code or something...?
It wasn't that he didn't think the kid meant well. Ganymede had helped him take care of a youma, so of course they were on the same side, at least in that respect, but why should he bother with anyone else he didn't know? He had his own things to do and didn't want to waste time waiting on others to come around, much less work with people he might not agree with.

And this was apparently why he didn't do the recruiting. He was pretty sure either Europa or Kallichore could have done a better job at this than he was. Or even Pasiphae. She looked so nice and sweet, few people would probably ever say "no" to her, or look at her so suspiciously.
"Oh, sorry, you are new at this," he observed, backing off a little bit when he didn't think it was all that welcome anymore. "Guardian cats. They're more of a senshi thing, I guess. I don't think you knights really need them. You seem to awaken more on your own, right? But the senshi are different. The guardian cats... well, they're magical talking cats, I guess is the best way to describe it. They help awaken us, or... sometimes they go around giving us a bit of a boost. That's why I'm Super now. If you've met regular senshi, I probably feel a little different than they do. Stronger, maybe? There are others with wings that are even stronger than that.
"As for how I know you're not working for the other side..." he continued, taking a step or two back to lean against the alley wall, before deciding he didn't know what sort of nasty things were on it and standing a bit straighter again, crossing his arms over his chest as well. "You're a knight, Sess. I'd be able to feel it if you were anything else. I guess that doesn't really say much, but you're not evil. I don't even think the other side is evil, not deep down."
He had no idea what the hell else he was supposed to say to convince him. Maybe he hadn't played this very well. He hadn't really seemed all that interested until he'd learned he was a knight of Jupiter, had he? That was no good. He should seem more interested in helping anyone who needed it, otherwise he was just... restricting himself.
"Look, you don't have to show up if you don't want to. No one's going to make you, although I expect Europa might be a bit disappointed if she finds out there's another Jovian knight and you don't at least show your face. She's sort of our leader," he explained with a light shrug. "She's got the most experience at least, and she seems to know what she's doing, and to be honest, I'm just not that good at this. Clearly. You're already harping on my a** and we've barely been speaking five minutes."
He had to be the worst spokesman ever. Or maybe this guy was just a hard sell.
"But, since your feelings seem hurt, I was already interested before I knew you from Jupiter, because I happen to think you're hot," he said, lifting his hands as if to say "what do you want me to do about it?" The page hadn't exactly bothered to hide the fact that he thought he was at least something to look at, whether or not what he had to say was any good. "Sue me, okay? Sometimes I live up to the magic, sometimes I don't. All I've got to say is I was doing this pretty much by myself for," he paused to count on his fingers, "four months before Valhalla had I teamed up, and I can promise that those three months since then have been infinitely better than anything that happened before, and part of that, not all of it, but part if it, is because we, the Jovians, are starting the build something together. If you don't want to be a part of that, no one's going to make you, but in my experience you should at least consider it. How many people do you have now that'll watch your back?" he challenged.

He lifted his head in a half nod as Ganymede went on explaining the Guardian Cats, willing to believe anything at this point. He'd just fought a demented chicken, after all. And it wasn't that he thought this guy had bad intentions. Perhaps a little too trusting, but whatever got them more allies, right...? Not that he'd met many and therefore didn't know who to join up with or not, but... At least this guy was giving it to him straight.
Sessrumnir raised an eyebrow at the shortening of his name, but didn't comment on it. He was the one calling Ganymede "Babydoll" after all. It was probably the blond hair and sweet looking face that did it. Either way, despite seeming just slightly awkward about how to talk to him, Ganymede was okay.
"Can't say too many. I've only met you and two others," he admitted with a small shrug. He figured that there were a lot of them around. It was a big city, after all. He didn't know what made Destiny City so special, but it didn't really matter in the long run, did it?
He nearly snorted when Ganymede admitted to him being hot, not bothering to hide an amused grin. So glad he was looking though. Now if it only didn't look like he was wearing a dress... Although, he figured he could always rip off the sleeves if they got in the way too much.
"How would you contact me?" he wondered, curious as to how Ganymede planned on keeping up with him. "Unless you really do want my number," he added with a wink. What? It wasn't like he was seeing anyone.
