Welcome to La Esperanza Just off the docks of East Port is a little building with a wooden sign that reads La Esperanza, its one of the very few Spanish bars. This cantina is famous for its various types of alcoholic drinks, so don't worry about it not having your preference, because chances are it most likely does. Be forewarned, though its atmosphere is welcoming, they don't tolerate people who want to pick fights or start trouble. So be respectful to the workers and enjoy a little Spanish hospitality. Enjoy your stay at La Esperanza and feel free to grab a drink or two!

Hod quickly walked in and grabbed a table in the far corner, sitting with his back in the corner so no one could approach behind him.He pulled out the seat next to him for the captain and motioned for a bar wench to come over." Sorry about this captain...But hey, we all 'ave our own pasts now don't we?"

Captain Paloma DelmarYou may allow your hands to wonder...Paloma followed Hod to one of the far tables in the cantina. As they reached the table she took a seat in the chair next to him. A lovely blonde lady, who looked quite young, walked over to them. "The usual please lass, if ye be so kind." The blonde nodded with a sweet smile and turned to Hod who looked quite uneasy....but be warned my trigger is not far behind.

Hod smiled,"Just a pint of bitter for me lass, would you kindly?" He handed the wench a shilling as a tip and turned to the captain." I'm guessing you got some questions, or should we just finish findin' you a crew?"

Captain Paloma DelmarYou may allow your hands to wonder... As, the blonde walked away, Paloma looked up towards Hod. ”Aye we do all ‘ave our pasts, some we not be very fond of.” She tried not to look down at the pommel that rested at his side, but her curiosity and concern made it quite hard. “Well lad, I’m sure ye can tell what I be ’bout to ask, so ye wan’ tell me what all this be ’bout?” she asked looking straight into his eyes, so she wouldn’t lose his attention. ...but be warned my trigger is not far behind.

Hod sighed," Well now tha' be a good question." He took the sword in it's sheath from his hip and looked around. Once he was sure no soldiers were in the bar he set it on the table."This is the sword of the ex-fleet admiral Johnathan A. Grendel. He was the man in charge of the soldiers that were stationed in my home town. He was an evil bast'urd, he took everything the people had...Even our pride, he was obsessed with hunting pirates. Turns out my father is one hell of a pirate and be known around the world...So was our name, one night he broke into our 'ouse and killed my aunt and uncle. I tried to protect my 'little sister' from them but they took her, and they did unspeakable things to her before they finally slit her throat with this sword." He laid his hand on the sword." So I knocked the old codger on his ar'se and killed him with it, then the rest of his men. Ever since I been lookin' for my da' to drive this thing threw his gut. But I been bein' hunted allot of late, seems someone higher up got the heeby geebies when they heard my family name. and now here I am"

Captain Paloma DelmarYou may allow your hands to wonder... “Aye I see, lad. Well that does explain a lot,” she nodded as she put her a finger on the insignia and began to trace it. “Guess, we all ‘ave our hardships that be bring us together,” she paused looking up at him, once more, “what I mean to say is tha‘ I know how it feel to hold a burden like tha‘," she smiled at him and placed her hand over the symbol, covering it, just as the blonde came back with their drinks. “Thank ye kindly, lass,” she said handing her a few shillings, with her free hand and smiled at her.
When the blonde had left and there was no one around, she removed her hand from the sword and the insignia seemed to gleam in the low cantina lights. "Best keep that out of sight for now, don't know who might be lookin' to start some trouble," she gestured to the sword. "Ye said ye was lookin' for ye da', any clue where he might be?" she asked just before picking up her drink, an elegant black bottle with golden engravings, and taking a swig from it. ...but be warned my trigger is not far behind.

Hod took a long drink and set the tankard on the table and sighed."I don't rightly know, Last I heard he was here. But there isn't a bloody sign of him and the trail has gone cold." He snickered."Sorry, just an internal joke. Many say my father rides on an unsinkable ship, that freezes the very ocean in it's wake, and the night shall fall where ever he may be. Lot of tripe but damn funny."He took another drink." Just hoping tha' somewhere one in the world I might find some clue."

Captain Paloma DelmarYou may allow your hands to wonder...Paloma took another swig from the black bottle and leaned in slightly, just before asking, “Would ye like some help findin’ him, Lad? She smiled playfully and then continued to ask, “Where exactly did ye say the trail went cold? saying it in sort of an attempt to lean him towards accepting her assistance.
She didn't want to assist him, simply, because he was part of her crew. She wanted to, because it would give them something to do while they did the unpleasant and weary chore of recruiting. She took a longer drink, then set the bottle down on the wooden table, as she looked at him with intensely patient eyes. She was curious about this young fellow, and knew that all would be revealed in due time....but be warned my trigger is not far behind.

Hod lit another cigarette," I would love to have some 'elp here. But the trail ran cold here, in this town. I have done everything I can here, I just hope that if I go out to sea then I might run into him...then..Well I 'aven't planned that part out yet." He took a long drag. " I was supposed to meet a man at the docks but from what I here he is kind of locked up in the asylum in town."
