Shilo's mind was somber, his expression much less how it once was. He'd lost his fluffy, happy edge through the despair he felt while searching for Ali. She just had to be out there.. some where.. Just.. Where? Furrowing his brow beneath his shaggy forelock, he mulled over muddled thoughts. He'd had it pointed out that he loved Ali.. and the way he'd been pining.. how could he not? now he faced finding her.. and if he did.. what to do. Should he tell her and hope for the best? But what if she had found some one? None of these things served to ease his mind any as he crossed over the open area through the now deadening grass.

Umbra had not once left his mind since there last meeting. She was still there and he felt lost knowing she had no feelings for him but he loved her. Why was love such a harsh thing? Why did he have to fall for someone as troubled as her? He knew it was becauce she needed help..she was convinced stallions were evil things due to the way she was treated by her father..He wanted to prove her wrong more than anything and in the process of trying he fell in love with her. He wondered when he might catch a glimpse of her once more..He knew it would not be now but he was less like his old self. He had started to roam during the night and sleep during the day. He was becoming the knight who had to rescue his lady even if she did not want it. He sighed looking up at the sun tired from a long night out. He decided to lay down in the grassy area he was in and he closed his eyes waiting for sleep to find him.

Heavy dull thuds were accompanied by his hoof falls. As much as the grass helped to muffle his steps, still, they made noise. It wasn't till he caught a glimpse of bright color that his mind snapped from his dreary thoughts to the present. The corners of his mouth curved upwards as he painted a small friendly smile on his face, willing his inner torment to a deeper part of his mind. Besides, there was no use in bringing some one else down to his level. It'd be rude of him to allow his own problems to effect the moods of others.

He heard it before he saw it the leaves were rustling and the birds flew out of the trees. He looked up wondering what was going on and saw a large stallion approaching from the woods. He watched him get closer and saw he was larger than he was and was very..fluffy? He had no idea what was going on but he stood up and tried to look friendly even though all he wanted to do was sleep after yet another long night. The grass was somewhat helping the noise but not enough to make a huge difference. He wondered what anyone would be doing out in the start of the morning..He would just have to but on his best face to find out.

"Good morning." His voice was deep, warm like a nice fur blanket given life or anything else that was warm and comforting to the touch. "Seems our days are starting to come with a bit of a chill to the air, wouldn't you say?" He stopped a good enough distance from the other so as not to make the other feel crowded.

He looked up at the stallion trying to keep a good face "Same to you stallion" he nods at him and stands up slowly despite being tired "The seasons have been changing for sometime..There will be snow underhoof before we know it" he nods again as he is now standing but even though he is big the other stallion is slightly larger himself only going to about the top of his neck. He was not close to him but he could tell the other stallion was massive. He extends a paw to him in greeting "My name is Kamau..Who might you be to wander around at such a time?"

He eyed the pawed booties for a moment. "With so much snow the time of empty bellies and crying foals isn't too far off." He gave a small frown. "I'm Shilo... and surely it's not so strange to be up and wandering around in the morning... or are you like some I've met and prefer to wander at night?" his ears perked as he looked Kamau in the eye.

He sighed thinking of the hard times in his childhood where his parents has struggled to provide making him want to help others "It is a terrible time but with hope we all manage to make it though..even those who are worse off then us" he slightly inclines his head to the stallion only bowing to the mares "It is an honor to meet you stallion.." his mind wanders off again back to Umbra but he shakes his mane out "My habits have been changing since the day i first saw the one i vowed to help..I fell in love..nothing has been right since them" he stares into the eyes of the stallion a distant look creeping into his face

"It's a pleasure meeting you as well." He forced a small smile, his mind was wandering to what unfortunate discomforts Ali might be forced to endure soon. That was till he heads the other speak of his own issues. some how.. it was comforting just knowing that he was not alone in his plight. His expression softened as he shook the forelock from his eyes. "It would seem, we are more alike in that... Sadly it took me loosing the mare in question to figure it out. And even still.. it wasn't clear until some one other than my daughter pointed it out to me."

He nods at the huge stallion wondering what was going through his head wishing he could escape him and the talk of the one who eluded him "You lost the mare..? Did you let her go? or did she just leave without a trace?" he frowns "You have a daughter..? At least you have a family to lean on" he looks to the sky again trying to find comfort in himself "You should of held onto her and never let her go" he wished he had done that to Umbra he would prove himself to her no matter what or took

"More like we planned to meet and she never showed up.." His eyes followed the other's to the sky line. "She's out there some where I just know it.. And I'll find her no matter what it takes." He glanced to the other a moment. "I have a daughter.. well two to be exact. One stayed with her mother and the other's so independent regardless of her deafness that I rarely see her these days." His brow furrowed under his forelock as the other mentioned who should have been done. "Hard to hold on to some one as free spirited as Ali.. and truthfully... how do you know to hole onto some one tightly when you don't know your own feelings for the other?"

He frowned lowering his head "She fled from you..? You seem like a great Stallion..Why would she run and never show up?" he pondered this for a moment before moving on "I know my Umbra is out there aswell..I will never stop trying to find her" he looked back down at the ground pondering his words "Is it nice to have a family..? Even if they are long and far? I would love having someone to reply on and protect" he sighs wishing his dream would come true "I promised her i would prove her wrong..in the process i fell in love with her elusiveness..She is convinced stallions are evil because her father rejected her..I met her sister.." he nods at the other stallion again

"I believe now.. that she fled because she thought I would not have time for her when my family came about And as much as we tried.. the fact was I didn't love the mother of my foals. Still I stayed so that they wouldn't have to know what it was like not having a father. It was a fate i wouldn't wish on any of my foals regardless of my feelings for the mother in this case. And while my family is wonderful, my life feels empty without Ali." He smiled warmly at the other stallion. "But you knew your love for what it was no? I had mine pointed out to me." He chuckled at the thought. how silly it must sound that one could be so blind to their on feelings.
