It had been several weeks since Asch came into possession of Rosie's Vaporeon, and a few since he had let her out of her ball and started working with her. Vahy'n seemed to be cooperating, but trust still wasn't there between him and the Vaporeon. He knew she would be likely to bolt whenever given the chance, thus Vahy'n never left Asch's sight outside her ball, but today that would change.
The agent was making his way down to the bottom level of the HQ. He had an appointment for DNA extraction and testing. Faleen had requested that samples be taken from Vahy'n, and he was dropping her off for processing. The sound of his footsteps echoed through the sterile white halls as he made his way to a laboratory with Pokemon storage. As he entered, he paused and was greeted by a technician. After a short exchange of words, the ball was handed off to the tech.
A series of Pokemon proof cages lined the walls, meant for smaller species. The tech took the ball and put it against a port in one of the cages which allowed for direct release into the box. Asch stood nearby, watching the entire process. Once Vahy'n appeared in the cage, he bent down and leveled his green eyes on her. "I will be leaving you here for today. I will come back to pick you up later."

She had gotten used to opening her eyes after being released to see The Rocket who had stolen her, and sometimes his pokemon, Though she was kept in careful arias, clearly he wasn't going to take chances with her. This made things a little frustrating, but Vany'n remained calm.
This time though, as she was released, her eyes opened to dull col bars, and a small enclosure that was... rather uncomfortable. "Va?" She gave a few sharp glances around, wondering what was going on, before she caught movement of someone outside the cage, and looked over to see Asch leaning down to look at her. She blinked a couple of times when he said she was staying here.. but for what? what was the meaning of this?
"Por, Vaporeon!" She tried to glance around him, wondering where she was.

Asch could clearly see the Vaporeon's bewilderment that was possibly bordering on panic. "Don't worry, you'll be fine." And that's all he told her before standing fully and turning to make his way out of the room. Once Asch was gone, the tech went about his business again. Vahy'n would be held there until they were ready for her. There was a list of other things to be done first. She was low priority.
Several minutes later, in another adjoining room, the sounds of yelps and whimperings could be heard. Eventually another tech came in, carrying a limp Growlithe in his arms. The cage next to Vahy'n was opened and the whining puppy placed inside. The Growlithe just laid there on the cold floor of the cage, continuing to whimper pitifully, her back to the beautiful eeveelution next to her.

He reassured her, even though she didn't know what was going on, and she didn't like the looks of this place... would be really come back for her? he was probably just saying that.
Things didn't help when she heard cries of pain from a room close by. yellow eyes shot toward she door, as she leaned down onto her elbows slowly. Worried, what was going on?
A Pokemon was brought out of the room, and placed into the cage next to hers. Vany'n flattened her fins a little as she watched the Rocket leave, only when he was gone did she turn her head, pushing herself up to look at the Growlith. It was truly horrifying, seeing a pokemon in pain like that. <... What have they done to you young one?> Vany'n said, in a low, sympathetic voice.

Eventually rolling onto her stomach, the Growlithe lifted sad brown eyes to look up at Vahy'n as she spoke. Tears welled up in her eyes. It had been so long since she'd heard a friendly voice. Not since... since...
"" She then cringed. "" The puppy Pokemon whimpered again. ""
The tears then rolled down her cheeks, ears flat against her skull. "" She was such a pretty Vaporeon. She didn't think they'd want to do terrible things to her. The Growlithe mostly saw just normal looking Pokemon around here, being used as experimental subjects.

Her brow furrowed, with am expression of sadness and pitty. This is what Team Rocket did to pokemon... How could they justify this?
Vany'n lifted a paw, and let it slip through the bars to gently reach out the best she could to the other Pokemon.
Her head tilted to the side lightly when the Growlithe looked to her, her expression falling.

The Growlithe lifted her ears a little as Vahy'n reached a paw towards her. Weakly, the puppy lifted her own to reach back and touch the Vaporeon's.
"" All the days seemed to blur together and she'd lost all track of time. She sighed lightly, the despair evident in her eyes, as if she'd given up all hope.
"" She doubted that Vahy'n ever would.

Vany'n wished she could lend more in the way of encouraging words to the Grolwith, But... Vany'n had never heard of a case where Team Rocket stole a pokemon who somehow found its way back to its trainer. And it was clear that the Growlith knew this.
The Vaporeon offered, her expression still sad as she watched the Growlith also reach out a paw to her as well.

The Growlithe blinked at Vahy'n. "" She remembered it all too well. Parts of it anyway. But she knew they had captured Kyogre, as well as her human. She overheard the lab techs all the time. How could they ever hope to escape from here or to be rescued, when they had that kind of strength? She even knew that her trainer and his other Pokemon were very strong. Was there really any hope?
"" And that's how they all ended up here.

Vany'n head tilted to the side, a worried look crossing her already sad expression. None of them knew for sure, but there had been talk. Vany'n was no at all disillusioned to the strength of this organization, though it was clear that words to try and instill some hope into this young pokemon would be in vane. She understood more about them, and about pain then Vany'n knew she should.
She fell silent for a time, keeping her paw laying on the fire types, gently, in instinctual motherly affection. It was the name that the Growlith said was her trainer that caused Vany's fins to splay, and her eyes blink rabidly three times in surprise.
THAT was her trainer?

Lifting her ears, the Growlithe blinked once at Vahy'n's surprised reaction. "" After all she had no clue what was going on in the outside world. Whether or not her trainer had been missed or that anyone was looking for him. The fact that she knew anything about Kyogre though, did pique her interest.
"" She asked, now lifting her head while remaining splayed on her belly. It seemed that this Vaporeon knew things that she didn't.

Vany'n glanced around the room when Komashi asked about what was going on. unsure if there were Rocket pokemon in the aria. just in case though she kept her voice low.

Komashi leaned close ro listen as Vahy'n spoke in a low voice. The lab techs didn't usually keep their own Pokemon out, and any Pokemon in the cages didn't have any loyalty to the team either. However, you could never be too careful.
Eyes widened a little as the Vaporeon explained what was happening. "" However, all this talk about her trainer caused the Growlithe's hope to droop once more. ""

She nodded softly, her eyes closing for a couple of seconds before yellow orbs reopened to look at Komashi. The news that she had seen Lance here in the base drew a soft frown from her.
That was good news! though what followed was not good news at all, Vany'n had no idea what kind of things they did here. but what had they done to the champion to make him chance him enough so that his pokemon know, and are worried.

Komashi nodded, for yes, Lance was most certainly alive. Although she had quickly noticed that the man was not himself. While physically he was alive, it seemed like he was dead inside.
"" It could have been longer, she wasn't really sure. She only knew that she had seen him, and called out to her trainer. But he didn't respond, he didn't even look at her. This had been the final straw in breaking Komashi's hope of ever getting out and returning to her master.
