When Amrita opened her door that day, there was a tiny bundle of cute curled up out front of it. A fluffy red and orange thing with a horn; she had never seen this mini before so she didn't think twice about kneeling down and picking it up. Why would she? It was cute and it wasn't on fire! From the moment she picked it up though, she knew something was wrong. Under all that fluff she could feel...well, almost nothing. It was skin and bones under there, and she wasn't sure it was a good thing that each rib could be felt through the fluff. The baby had woken up then, stirring weakly and churring up at her with big black eyes.
Her heart instantly shattered and melted into thousands of gooey pieces. This wouldn't do! Not one bit! Aaaaa VETS GOTTA TAKE IT TO THE VETS! The churring won her over and she coo'd at it, being all sorts of reassuring as she grabbed her bag and left her room in a hurry, not stopping long enough to notice the new, tiny scorch marks on the floor outside of her door. The problem started while still on campus; the little Kindle started to hiccup and breath frantically.
"O-Oh jack! No no no, don't do that! J-Just...Just hang in there! It'll be okay, we're gonna get yoo---OOOOUAAAAAAAHHHHH!" She shrieked as the little creature hacked up a furrball. Only it wasn't a furrball.
It was a fire ball.
The sickly little thing was grabbed by the scruff and held at a full arm's length away from her; she could only stare at it wide-eyed, suddenly paralysed with fear.

Vieve was walking around the campus randomly, not even sure what she was doing. It was a nice enough day for a walk, and an even better day for treasure-hunting.
Recently, she'd noticed the fountain near school was full of silver pumpkin seeds- but the darned thing was still full of water, and there was no way she'd jump in, even if for the money.
Perhaps she'd find someone willing to help her 'pick up some money she'd accidentally dropped...' and as if on cue, a girl carrying something red and orange hurried by.
"Hey, you?"
