Freya had spent the entire day in her room. She had put up various upholsteries, covered the bed with her father's fur coat, unpacked all of her little wooden amenities, and finally flopped down on the couch her father had made them order. It was just like a tiny version of the one they had at home, and she instantly sagged into the couch, almost disappearing in it's folds. It was soooo good.
Lastly, she would consider unpacking her outfits. But the couuuch, the coouuuuuuuch.. she didn't want to get up. That was the danger with this thing.. it swallowed you whole and never let you leave.
But eventually she managed to climb out of it and get back to work, putting away her clothes while quietly singing to herself. The sound still managed to penetrate, however, if only because her Fear was tied inexorably to her voice, even without her control.
"Mellom blåklokkene, Sitter en jente med blonde fletter~ En blå-eyed engel, Med jordbær kinn~ Spell har bundet meg, Jeg bodde en drøm~ Norweigan hjemland, Mitt hjerte tilhører deg!"

Lattice was actually bored today, bored enough to want to go wandering to see what everyone was doing, she wasn't quite finished with Mot's inks yet but she wanted to let him know that soon he would have a nice fresh batch of his very own but as she made her way to the Reaper Boil's room something caught her attention and made her stand completely still for a moment just to listen.
Music. It was beautiful! There was just one thing she wanted to do and that was to see the source of this wonderful song though she didn't understand the word of it. Walking a little further brought her to a door - it happened to be the door of the voice she was seeking out.
The Engraver hesitated a small moment not wishing to intrude or interrupt but she just wanted to listen a little bit closer! Gathering her courage again a pale hand lifted and knocked at the door, Lattice waited patiently.

The music died out instantly, like a bird being choked out of their song, and a moment later Freya opened the door with a wide swing to get a look at her visitor. What an interesting looking young lady! Very sharp and dangerous - Freya liked that. Whoever she was could probably handle herself well in a fight.
"Ho, hallo friend! What brings you to my door today?"

Lattice was a bit disappointed when the song suddenly stopped and for a moment she almost regretted having knocked on the door interrupting the person who was actually singing. She thought perhaps it was something else instead but then again nothing that pretty could come out of a device.
The door open and Freya's form filled it though Lattice couldn't make out details at all but at least she sounded friendly enough! The Engraver tilted her head and the blunt question tumbled past her lips, "Were you the one singing just now?"

"Ach, I'm so sorry! Come on, come inside." She gestured for Lattice to enter, but her voice sounded extremely apologetic. "Did it bother yeh? I thoughts these walls would keeps the sounds in! Blast, I hopes I wasn't botherings the neighbors.."
She mumbled the last few thoughts to herself as she closed the door, and turned to face the ghoul. "My name's Freya, friend! I just arrives a few days ago, very new! Don't know many peoples, I suppose. What's your name, then?"
It wasn't as though Lattice had asked to enter. Nor did she ask to be introduced. Freya just.. sucked her in, the way she usually did with new people. Took her in and adopted her as her own.

Lattice shook her head, "It wasn't bothering me at all. I just wanted to see who was singing so beautifully," she said again in complete honesty. If it bothered her she likely would have fled the area as soon as she heard it! Lattice didn't seem too alarmed when suddenly Freya introduced herself and welcomed her in - it was surprising but not upsetting. Quietly she wandered into the room when invited not wishing to be rude but also wanting to know more about this new person now. Her prior objective was now forgotten in favor of meeting someone new.
Once in the room she bowed slightly, "My name is Lattice. I have only been here a short while myself. I hope you enjoy it here very much," Lattice replied. She turned her head to look about a little but mostly saw indistinct shapes, "I wasn't interrupting you settling in was I?"

"Hah!" The short, but guffawed laughter was a sharp sound. "Then we're both new, hah? Lattice, that's a good name. I likes it! Sharps as you look, I'd say. Make yourself comfortables, Lattice. You are only interruptings me from being bored, after all! Who wants to stands here and puts their things away in the silence, with no one to talks to? Crazy peoples, that's who! Freya is not crazies, not at all."
She went straight back to putting her clothing in the closet, but easily managed to keep up a conversation while she did so. "That's very kinds of yeh to say, I hope so too. To be honest, I'm here to makes sure my sister is not in troubles. She wrotes me some letters, I gets worried. That is how it goes, ja?"
She turned to the ghoul, tilting her head. "Maybe you knows! Have you met Hel? She is my sister, youngest of the lot. My little crumpet, hah. Why did you comes to the schools, then, friend Lattice?"

Lattice blinked a bit at the short sharp laughter but she wasn't bothered by it, she accepted it and moved on giving a small nod at the observation that they were both new and smiled lightly at the compliment to her name, "Thank you, I like your name as well it has a very fierce feel to it." It was similar to another name of someone she'd met recently but for now she kept that little observation to herself.
The Engraver giggled slightly at Freya's words, "Yes I suppose company is always nice when you are cleaning up and such," she replied softly she was told to make herself at home and so she wandered over toward something that looked like seating - the couch. For a moment she wasn't sure what to make of it until she turned and sat down.
First thing that caught her attention that it was that when she placed her hands down on the seating was the furry quality of it second thing was that it seemed to be swallowing her whole. The Engraver uttered a soft dismayed squeak as she sunk in a little bit and just sat there tense for a second before relaxing.
...Wonderful. This was wonderful.
"O..Oh! Yes I wrote to my Sister a lot until she managed to come to the Academy. I was very worried for her when we were apart," Lattice replied once she realized that Freya was talking to her about siblings. Her preoccupation with soft furry comfort was getting the best of her. She perked up a bit when Freya mentioned a name in particular, "Oh! Yes I know her. She is very kind I enjoyed her company very much."
Lattice seemed thoughtful before she answered, "I came to the school because my Sister and I wanted to learn about things outside of our Manor. We wanted to experience new things."

"New things." Freya was thoughtful about the last thing Lattice had said, and she was checking out the wrinkles on one of her dresses as she thought on it. "I thinks that's a very good reasons to come to the schools. Hel wanted the same things. She was vary excited to comes here, and I thinks she's getting exactly what she wanted." She hung the dress up on the rack, and turned to grin at Lattice.
"I thinks she woulds be happier if I had not come to ruin her funs, but ehh, I can't helps it! I worry. I loves her so."
Freya put the last of her dresses away, closed the closet, and hopped over to flop down in the couch. It would give Lattice some push upward, but otherwise it remained the plush, soft haven it always was. "And thanks yeh, I like being fierce. All meh sisters has fierce names! Papa named his ghouls well." She leaned in, as if she was telling Lattice a secret - but really it was a mundane bit of information. "We're Norse, yeh see. Very proud culture. Just like tha songs yah heards me singing when you passed by! Sorry about that again, by the by."
She bounced on the couch, consequently bouncing Lattice as well. "Whats yehr sister's name then?"

The ghoul canted her head to the side and shrugged a bit, "I am sure you will find more for you other than just keeping a watchful eye on your sister." Certainly Freya would find her own path here at Amityville; Hel was simply the starting cause - the Gateway. It was almost disturbing how much faith Lattice had in people even though she had only just met them.
She blinked a bit as the seating adjusted to allow for the other person with her on the couch but it wasn't unpleasant just surprising at first. Lattice was not used to such plush things but she liked it. The Engraver smiled lightly as she listened to Freya even as she leaned in a bit to 'confide' in her, "Norse? My Clan are ...said to be of Japanese origin. Over the years it has become more of a ... folktale for us."
What did it mean anyways? She just knew there was some culture and language based connection to the whole idea.
"Do not apologize I hoped I could hear you sing some more soon," she murmured some of the shyness creeping into her voice as she admitted this.
Bouncebouncebounce. She felt jostled and it made her giggle a bit. It was fun!
"My Twin's name is Needle, she is very inquisitive." Lattice answered when she wasn't so distracted by the bouncing. Now she wanted to ask her own question, "What do you like to do in your free time?"

Freya stopped bouncing for a moment, considering the words Lattice offered her. They sounded very smart.. full of wisdom! Freya just knew if she ever had a problem, she would come to this ghoul for some advice! It would be nice to have someone to come to, here in the school. She was used to having a pretty strong support base, with so many sisters to go to - but she was also used to being the older, wiser one.
And she certainly did not enjoy asking her eldest sister for advice. Ugh.
"I knows a Japanese ghoul once! She was vary pretty." Freya leaned in, brushing her hand against the long, silken strands of hair beside Lattice's face, and grinned. "Not as pretty as yeh, of course! Yehr hair is likes so dark, and shiny." The backs of her fingers brushed against Lattice's cheek as she pulled away. "And soft skin, hah? Lattice, yeh has to be careful, I'll fall in loves with yeh any minute now!" Freya's bubbling laughter was loud and full of life.
"Needle and Lattice." Freya tasted the names in her mouth, as she continued to play with Lattice's hair inappropriately. She was certainly fond of touching, wasn't she? "Ohh, I gets it. She has the sharp points like yeh, hah? Yeh two would makes for some challenges in the battlefield, mmm. Very nice!" What kind of defense could one use against an opponent covered in needles? It was a question Freya would ponder on for some time later on!
"Meh free times?" She paused in brushing her fingers through Lattice's hair, to think about that. "Well, guess I likes to fights, and eats, and sings! But I has to apologize for my singings, yeh see." She pouted visibly. "Voice, best weapon I has. We sing, and it makes peoples confused. Lost. Sometimes they don't knows what they were doing. Somethings bad could have happened, yeh know? I would have felts vary bad. Vary, vary bad."

Lattice would be all too glad to give advice. She quietly listened to the other ghoul's odd speech as she talked to her and suddenly she was being told that she was pretty and Freya would fall in love with her any minute now which made Lattice's cheeks tinge a bit as her face tilted downward she didn't mind that her hair was being played with inappropriately or not she gazed over at Freya wondering if this was just some sort of playful prank or if it was real. Anxiety built in her for a few moments, "D..Don't be silly, we have only known each other a few moments." Lattice murmured a bit not sure how to take this sort of blunt flirting as she stared over at Freya's shape.
She quietly toyed with her sash a bit, "A..And besides it...would only end in sorrow I am not allowed to fall in love unless it is with my work."
...Yeah she took this way too seriously.
Lattice's mind focused on the battle talk, "Yes my Sister and I do aim to partake in a bit of training and fighting," she replied trying to focus again.
The Engraver tilted her head as Freya explained her abilities and how they were a danger to others, "Oh I see...It is a little bit how I can see only ink. I mean that right now I can see many other things as well but only their shape and such...Though it is not a particularly dangerous ability."

She was right about Lattice - a very smart ghoul! "Ach, Lattice! Trust me, that's a good thing! You don't wants to be in love, Lattice. Love is a four letters word. You and me, we're on the sames page, Lattice. No fallings in love for us. We can just be ******** buddies, ja?"
Lattice was just so much fun to joke around with! She was quiet, and sweet, and Freya loved to make inappropriate jokes and make people squirm.
As if she wasn't just talking about sex with Lattice, she made an 'oooh' noise as she digested the information of Lattice's ink sight. "Yeh mean yeh can't see me right now?" She pouted. "Do I needs to take an inks bath, and then yeh can sees who yehr talking to?"

She went still. Totally still. Should she be scandalized? Was she scandalized? Freya was so different from Hel in many regards she almost wasn't prepared for all this. The words seemed to flow through her head as the other spoke and she couldn't figure out how to cope with it the last part because she didn't know what it meant. Pale finger tips poked and pulled at the fabric of her sash for a moment before she asked, "What is a '******** buddy'?"
At least Lattice wasn't offended that was for certain!
There was a moment of thoughtful quiet when the question came before she replied, "Something like that. If you have a tattoo on your skin that isn't covered up I can see that for example but I would never know what your skin color is and such..."

Lattice's question made Freya grin like a cheshire cat. She was chuckling, high pitched, but she stifled it so she could answer the question without sounding condescending.
"Aiya, you are most precious, little Lattice. Kjønn, knulle, the times in the beds where you touch your partner between the legs and make them cries out your name in ecstasy. I think perhaps Freya has gone too far with the jokings if you didn't know what that was, hah? I will stop teasing you, pretty ghoul, I promise."
It was a promise she'd probably break. Repeatedly.
"I don't haves any tattoos, yet. I wants one! I wants several. I would look good with a nice tattoos along my legs, I thinks. Proud, fear-inspiring tattoos, ja. My skin colors, it is very light, you are missings nothing special." She laughed under her breath and bounced on the couch again. "You likes my couch? Papa bought it for me. Made of real foxfire fluffs!"
