He hadn't known that today would be one of the most epic days he had experienced so far at Amityville. He hadn't realized upon waking that morning that he would remember it for the rest of his life. Today was the first day West was allowed to battle. He had punched plenty of things on campus before, but this time he'd be using his FEAR. It made him a little nervous, but he was well aware that this sort of training was what he had come here for. There was also the matter of that strangeness he had experienced in minipet class. He wondered... well, he wasn't going to dwell on that right now. West strode into the gym, his head held high until he realized that the floor below him seemed to be made of water. He stopped and bent over, placing his hands on his thighs and peering down. No, not water. There was some sort of barrier here. Weird. (( West and Demi will spend this fine RP taking out their aggression on one another in the fabulous Inside Gym. Enjoy! ))

Ever since the hellhound took his first few steps onto campus grounds, there was always one place that was never open for exploring. The gymnasium where he heard so many stories about its first few classes last year. He was not going to be shy and say that his ears were keen and alert whenever he heard the word gym and all his running took him past the place that had its doors tightly shut day after day in October.
It was supposed to be a regular day with another ten laps around the campus when green eyes spotted the doors of the building wide open and that familiar feeling of exploring the unknown crept back up his neck and any thoughts of continuing his run went right out of his mind. Who was to say the doors will still be open tomorrow?
Demi strolled in with his usual pep in his step, taking in the rather large room and its peculiar floor below and crouched down above the transparent floor. There was a pool below! but the clear floor prevented the frantic scratching of his boots from getting to it, such an odd feature.
It didn't even dawn on the canine that he wasn't alone until he looked up at the taller and pink haired boil he knew at a moments glace. How fitting for him to be here already. "Hey Westus, shouldn't you be checking out the scareling gym down by the Nursereap?" he said in a calm voice, already beginning the day with the banter he couldn't imagine not having with the demon.

Perfect. West's grin was so wide that he might have looked happy if it hadn't been for the set of his brows. Nope, still angry. Still, he couldn't have asked for a better opponent short of Jingleberry wandering back onto school grounds. The demon pushed thoughts of the ninja out of his head and stood up straight again, placing his hands on his hips for a moment as he bent backwards slightly to stretch.
"Ha, ha," West replied, his back still facing the other boil. He turned, dropping his arms back to his sides. "Come 'ere ready for a fight, kid? Or are ya just lookin' for some toy y'lost?"

Damien was glad to see the Demon for once, after all it was the perfect place and the prefect time. In his mind, the boil could do with a couple of well placed kicks to get his tail out of his butt. Demi wasn't one to back down from West and rose up to his own full height as well, even if it was indeed far shorter than the cocky boil.
"I came in to explore, but I don't mind giving you a trouncing." he said back coolly, giving his legs a proper stretch for what was going to inevitably happen. "Besides, I ain't no kid, and I'll be sure to remind you of that right now!"
((OHNOES, Demi and West are bickering like an old married couple idiots again, and its going to be a rumble!
We probably could have decided who could have gone first outside of the RP, but for the sake of this explanation we will be rolling for initiative, and in Demi's case, he has to beat West's three in order to go first.))

Kid kid kid kid, that was the only thing West took the time to call him as of late. It really was getting on Demi's nerves. But it felt nice to finally get rid of all the anger and animosity out on the punching bag with the pink hair. "Put up yer dukes!" the hound snarled out as his eyes shifted into its more darker hue and threw out his foot toward the Demon's shin.
(( 3 < 9, So Demi got to attack first!
-Since Demi is a Yr 1 student, he has to use 2d6 for his standard attacks and subtract 6 from the sum of the dice to determine the damage done, if any.
In Demi’s case he got (5,5) so 5+5= 10, 10-6 = 4, did four damage to Westus.
- I’m also keeping a tally at the bottom to make it easier for Smerdle to see what damage has been done and what HP Damien has left.))

If the kid wanted dukes, dukes would be what he would get. West raised his fists, his expression turning sour for a second as the right one began to glow an angry red. That had never been good in the past, but, hmm. It didn't seem to be affecting him in the same-- "What the--" West yelped. "Y'kicked me!" The glow left his hand, but returned a moment later with an accompanying chuckle. "Little b*****d."By now his hand was bright enough that he was squinting against its light. He lashed out, striking Demi with as much strength as he could muster, which was actually considerably more than he could remember wielding in the past. Too bad a moment later, the glow whipped back into his fist, sending it barreling toward his chest with nearly as much force as he had hit the hellhound with. West exhaled sharply, trying to keep the look of surprised 'ow' off of his face and mostly succeeding. He couldn't really come up with much of a taunt in his current state, so at least Demi was spared that. The demon bounced back, waiting for his opponent to try and strike again. (( West is a Y2 student with a new Y1 FEAR attack that fits into The Gambler's Chance category. To calculate his damage, I rolled 6d12 as outlined here.
The first number is greater than or equal to 9, which indicates that West's attack hit his opponent.
The second and third numbers added together designate how much damage the attack caused. If he had missed, these second two numbers would not be used.
Since The Gambler's Chance always causes damage to the character using it, the fourth number rolled using Y1 mechanics is a damage multiplier. I rolled a 1, which means West takes full damage.
The fifth and sixth dice added together denote the amount of damage West did to himself.
After Damien's attack and West's backlash to himself, he is now at 24HP out of his original 40. ))Target: Damien Damage: 15 HP: 40 - 4HP (from Demi's attack) - 12HP (from FEAR backlash) = 24/40Effect: West is not really suffering from a kicked shin and really suffering from a backlash of his own FEAR.

Damien was gladly getting ready to prove that he did indeed kicked him, and do so again right in his ribs but that bright light said to stop in your tracks and prepare for a beatdown. "What the Jack are ye d-" the words promptly got muffled by the incoming blow from said shiny fist in his gut that had the canine gasping for the air that suddenly vanished from his lungs.
It was one heck of a blow, he'd give the boil that, even more so when the light got a mind of its own and the fear went barreling back into himself. And Damien didn't even have the ability to laugh at him for the moment as he sputtered to get back into his stance and get his breathing back under control. "What goes around comes around eh pinky? he growled back with the green smoke from his eyes billowing out....
fairly more than usual. Look at me West, LOOK AT ME IN THE EYE.
((Since Damien is a year 1 student, the only way his fear attack, Headlights can work, is if he rolls a 4, which missed, since it used up his turn, he cannot do a normal attack in this round.
If it did hit, it would mean that the opponent would have to skip their next attack and the user would get to go again.))

HP: 30-15= 15/30
Effect: Demi says West should stop punching the hound and get back to punching himself more.

"Hmmph." West couldn't really argue with that. Even after the idiocy that was him inadvertently punching himself he found he wasn't actually that pissed about the boil's retort. He hadn't even known he could do that whole crazy-hand punching thing until just now. Clearly, more time at the gym was in order to get it under control.
As for right now, it was time to end this. He snickered at the smoke wafting from Damien's eyes.
"Play dead," West monotoned, a measure of the swagger he had entered into the battle with returning as he swung a fist at Demi. Dog jokes. Hilarious!
(( As a Y2, West rolls 2d8 for a standard attack and subtracts 6 from his total. ))

It did take a minute but the smoke from Damien's eyes managed to dissipate into more manageable stream. It still didn't help him with the sudden punch to his chin that made the hound spin on his heel to the side. "Cute, real cute ya p***k." he said back lowly, taking a moment to carefully check his jaw for any fractures or if the jacking thing was still attached to the rest of him.
If this was what he had to expect from the higher ups then the truth was starting to sink in, that he was picking a fight that he might not be able to win. Instead of his usual style, the hound opted to take one a bit more composed, and easier to defend.
(( Demi is now rolling a 1d4 in order to block some of the damage West might do in the next round. Of course, this means he cannot attack this round because he is already trying to brace himself.))
Target: Westus
Damage: None, but can defend up to 4 damage against the next assault.
HP:15/30 - 9 = 6/30
Effect: Demi does not like how this is shaping up, his tail isn't wagging as happily as before.

West narrowed his eyes when Demi stood down. It hadn't mattered at the start of the fight, but it had very recently begun to register with the demon that he was technically fighting a first year. Having only advanced a grade fairly recently, West had not expected the boost in power that had seemingly come with it. If he was going to kick Demi's a**, he wanted to do so on a level playing field. He took a couple of large steps forward and flicked the boil's ear.
"'K. We're done. Y'can't handle..." He snorted. "Yeah, yer not ready fer this."
(( This is a regular 2d8 hit, minus Demi's 4HP block. ))

Damage: 13-6-4 = 3
HP: 24/40
Effect: West is a little miffed that the kid is blocking.

Having his arms take the blow rather than his face was indeed a good call in the hounds book before West decided to get his attention with a surprisingly painful flick to his ear. Um, OW. Damien winced at the strike to a sensitive area and winced further at what he was saying.
"No no NO, you finish what we started!" he howled out in irritation, mostly because he wasn't sure if he himself could do so on his own as he decided to resort to the limbs he didn't really use in a brawl, throwing a left hook at the demon's face. And it was rarely used for a reason as the boil swung inches to the goatees boil's face, but missed as he went sprawling to the floor on wobbly feet that refused to continue.
(Did a normal attack that after subtracting 6, came out to zero, so there was no damage)

HP:15/30 - 9 = 3/30
Effect: Demi refuses to whine like an injured puppy...... :T

West chuckled. "Jus'... shut up an' take the out, kid. I won't tell anybody."
Oh, but he totally would. The demon turned and started toward the door of the gym.
(( West is 'fleeing,' even though he probably wouldn't be caught dead doing so on a normal day. XD ))

Damien may have allowed a few things to happen. He may have been on the floor, and reduced to a withering pulp, but he was not going to be snubbed like this. It took a fair bit of energy, but the canines hand found its way around the Demon's ankle and head on like it was prey scrambling to get away from his teeth.

"I believe I said..... we weren't finished here." The green eared boil grumbled out lowly, unable to find the energy to put anger in his voice as he struggled to stand back on his own feet. Defeat was defeat, but to have West look down on him and push their albeit one sided, fight aside and sweep it under the proverbial carpet? UNACCEPTABLE.
Under the weariness of his battered limbs, that didn't want to move as much as his will wanted them to, and had to settle on clinching the boil in a grapple and try to throw them both to the floor. "If i'm going to lose, I will lose with dignity and you will NOT disgrace me like this!"
And he ended up hitting the floor first. Yeah, no disgrace, way to go.
((Because Damien [stubbornly] decided to block his escape and was successful by rolling a higher number on the 1d20, he now gets a free attack.))

It didn't take much struggling to force the younger boil off of him. West turned and looked down at Damien. He might have even given the kid a mocking little kick as his foot shuffled past.
"This's dignity?" He crossed his arms. "Looks like failure from 'ere."
