With the Boogeyman Training Camp just a blink away, Bul had to begin his search for a team of fellow trainees. It was difficult, the decisions had to be made in a short period of time and there were too many things for him to consider. If it played out anything like the last field trip the half beast knew that he was in for a terrible adventure. Having knowing what he did, the boil was absolutely set on taking the course. While the waiver he'd signed almost guaranteed he wouldn't have much choice, Bul was convinced that with all the spontaneous training courses that had popped up over the weeks were somehow related and that in order to complete this somewhat secretive training he needed to proceed to the field trip ahead.
Only... there was one problem.
Bul had given his partner a call sometime within the week requesting they meet up and discuss the trial ahead. Not entirely certain about his group situation he needed to speak with the living doll on behalf of his concerns. There was no easy way to solve this dilemma he had going but after a lot of thought he'd made his decision as to whether or not they should be grouped together.
"Mei? You around?" Bul asked as he approached their meeting spot in the monster dorms.

No matter how hard she tried, her thoughts toward this trip practically doomed her outlook on the entire thing. Not at all was she prepared for this, nor was she at all happy to be taking part of it. Thanks to the last two trips, Mei had predicted this trip to be like them--or worse. Worse. Definitely, worse.
After receiving a call from Bul earlier in the week, the two had arranged to meet and go over things dealing with what was to come. The idea of being separated into different groups didn't rest well with the doll, and she had already had an offer from some friends to join their group. However so, the idea still troubled her.
Pacing back and forth, she waited for Bul to arrive, pausing now and again to see if he was there or not. Eventually she drifted off into her own thoughts, only to snap out of them again as a familiar voice called over them. "Over here." Waving to the boil, she moved over to greet him with a hug. "Sorry..I didn't hear you coming."

Bul's embrace was as genuine as the red on his skin. "It's alright Mei," he smiled and sat down with her while his tail wrapped gently around them.
"I know we're not in the same group. As much as I could say I would protect you I'm just afraid that... if it's anything like last time-" Articulating his words wasn't the hard part. Instead it was admitting to himself that while he was protecting her from himself he was also not being protective of her from anything else. "You remember the fog as well as I do I'm sure."
Leaving at that he leaned closer and pecked her on the forehead. "We're strong knobs now but its not enough. I want to come back to school and find you could run circles around me with FEAR."
Seriously, that way we know I'm the one that needs protecting.. he thought but not without a smirk on his face.

Smiling, she took a seat with him letting out a small sigh as her thoughts returned to the subject they were to talk about. Though they may be in separate groups, what was to say they might not run into each other further on? But that was wishful thinking. She had no idea what to expect, nor did she think putting too much thought into it was going to help ease her nerves.
Nodding as he stated their different parties, her hands clenched at pant legs until letting them slide down beside her at ease. "Yes." She nodded again to confirm. Its not like she, or anyone else who ventured onto the island, could forget what had happened there. She only wished she could. "I remember it well in fact."
Easing again, she gave another nod. "Lets just..Make a promise: To survive this trip." Smiling up at him, she reached for her bag she has dragged along with her. Digging around in the bag for a minute, she then handed Bul her emblem. "I haven't given mine out to anyone yet. I thought you should be the first to have it."

As the living doll pulled out her emblem Bul felt almost remorseful- this was something he felt he should've offered her long before now. Holding out a scaly hand he accepted the trinket and furrowed his brows. The first? He was her first?
...not THAT kind of first at least.
"Mei, this is- thank you.." For a moment he clasped the emblem close until it warmed and leaned forwards to give the ghoul a short kiss on the lips. Being the first to receive her emblem meant a lot to him. Fortunately he would be able to return the favor.
"Here-" Bul set the ghoul's emblem on his knee while he reached into his jacket pocket to pull out an emblem with a snot-ball oozing on it. Another regenerated as he removed it and held it out to offer to Mei. "I haven't given mine out either. You can be my first," he smiled. "I mean its not as pretty as yours but.."

It was strange, that with all the time at Amityville, she had yet to give her emblem to anyone. Until now that is. It only seemed right that if anyone was to receive it from her first, it was Bul. After all, they had gone through a lot together, and it was him who helped her through those times.
Smiling, she returned the kiss, placing her hand over his before pulling back again. "Your welcome. I'm not sure why I didn't think of giving it to you before. But with this trip coming up, I figured now was probably the best time for it." After all, if things went bad, and she didn't get a chance later..
Snapping out of her thoughts, her gaze followed his hand as he reached into his jacket pocket. Taking the small emblem as he held it out for her to take, she clasped it between her hands and gave him a small kiss of her own in thanks. "Thanks Bul. Lets make it through this trip. Alright?"

"Better now before we're dead-" Bul blurt out before realizing how awful it sounded and looked away embarrassingly. That wasn't necessarily how he felt although after the discussion with Nox he knew there was not going to be a swift end to their troubles. Whether or not he should tell Mei was a completely different dilemma that did not need to be brought up so close to the field trip. After all the purpose of the trip presumably was for Red to train them. A boot camp if you will. The half beast doubted that if the hunters were to make their move it would be then. Not with so many creatures running around testing their FEAR. Though even THAT was pure assumption.
With Mei's returned kiss he nodded. Trusting that she would be safe from harm in a large group was tough but he knew better than to dismiss any of her or her friends' strengths. "We will make it through and hey, Red's gonna be leading this s**t anyway right? I mean.. if its anything like skitter sharks.. hmm.."
Not that the skitter sharks weren't intimidating but they gave promise that students would be returned at least to where they started. "Who all are you going with again? I still have to find a troop but.. shouldn't be too hard. It's sorta my goal to make sure some snots get through this thing as well. Yanno, being an upperclassman and all."

Better now before they're all dead? Well--yeah. Its not like she wasn't thinking the same thing after all. Well, if they did happen to die, there was always the school faculty bringing them back like last time..right? "Heh heh..yeah." In any case, if Professor Red was offering to train them into better fighters, than this was a chance she would not have to pass up. After all..she owed some hooded bastards a little pay back, and she was sure to pay it back in full. With them being second years now, maybe things would get a little easier? Wishful thinking, but better that, then negative thoughts.
"Righ--ew..skitter sharks.." Think positive! Think positive! Those were words she would need to repeat the entire trip. "Well I hope she'll decide to leave those behind as well. I'll go for training, but the last thing I want is to be swallowed whole again." She said, folding her arms. It took her weeks to get that smell of fish off of her! "Blech.." Shuddering at the near thought, she quickly shook the idea clear from her head.
"Hmm? Oh! I was invited to join a group with Natalia, Whisper, LW and uh..some newish boil I haven't met yet. Mor..Mori..Mortis--er, I can't remember his name off hand, but there it is anyhow." She still wished that she could go with Bul, but it was probably for the best. She had no idea what all Red had planned..and if their was a chance to be pitted against one another or anything of that sort--no. She wouldn't be able to do it. Whatever the case, it seemed the trip wouldn't involve such things anyways. She hoped. "I'm sure you'll lead them through just fine."

Mei could not be any further from what Bul himself had been thinking. If he were to get pitted against her again like in paintball he'd only fail Red's expectations. "Believe it or not I'm starting to get used to be eaten alive. You'd think I'd be more prepared for such occasions by now.." he snorted.
"A new boil?" the half beast asked teasingly giving her a small hug at the waist with a lanky arm.
"And if I don't I will surely lead them to a good a** whooping even if it's not by me," he snerked and rolled back on the couch a little. "When we get back you wanna spend a little time together? Maybe take a short break from school and buzz around Halloween Town? I think us knobs deserve a break, wouldn't you say?"

Grimacing at the thought of 'getting used to the idea', Mei was not able to adapt to such a thing. "I think..that's one thing I'll never get used too. Y'know, unless it happens like..fifty times or something." No..she would never get used to it. Never.
Grinning and rolling her eye, she playfully nudged him in the gut. "Hah hah. Very funny." Settling against him again as he hugged her, she honestly had no idea who this boil was, or what he was like--except that he was undead. Well, there would be time for introductions later.
"That's a possibility too! For both of our teams!" She grinned, knowing full well, that they would get a hell of an a** kicking either way. Perking up at the mention of spending time off school grounds, Mei completely agreed that they deserved a break. Even if it was just a small one. "Sounds good to me!"

Bul would rather it be him than Mei getting eaten any day and figured she'd be able to bank on this. For him he had to determine whether or not jumping in the way of anything was demeaning of her talents but for the most part he felt like he was a lot less protective than a lot of boilfriends. But was that a good thing?
"Okay, When we get back then-" he said and leaned forwards to kiss her sweetly. "We will have little naptimes in the sunspots on campus ya?" he chuckled, somehow reminding himself of the time he'd done that with Mot. "I love ya, Mei," he cooed.

Leaning into the kiss, Mei wrapped her arms around him in a hug, releasing him soon after. "Sounds good to me. I would like nothing more to just sprawl in the sun with you." She grinned, reaching for her bag.
"I love you too. Be safe Bul."
