User ImageThe winds whistled through the silent grasses through the Mizuka'nyevu lands. The clouds were high, thick, and billowing - much like the metaphorical clouds that shrouded the pride in mystery. That was how life was for the members. It was their secret, and it was kept well with the help of the pride's founders and lore.

Ever since the cub had grown up in the pride, life was very simple and easy. The lions stayed the same, acted the same, and everything was peaceful. Sure, there were a couple of family dramas here and there, but other than that...

Shani and Feidhlim seemed to enjoy the tranquility the Mizuka'nyevu brought; judging by his mother's gentle and meek nature, he was not surprised. It even seeped into him, making him content of the pride's way of life. But sometimes... it was too quiet. Not many new faces found themselves in the pride, if any. It was almost hard to meet anyone other than those already part of his family.

It almost seemed like there was a new destiny somewhere else awaiting him. But was it just a deceiving feeling?

He overheard his parents a couple of times talk about crossing the pride's borders. Perhaps there was something close that was new to see, or something... But his mother had been a part of the pride's culture and history, tracing back to their original ancestral lands. He was sure she had many doubts about leaving all this heritage behind. But as each day passed by, and life seemingly became more dry...

"Hoo boy," he breathed out, brown mane flickering just over the water's edge; he had laid next to a small pool of water beforehand, as it was one of his usual relaxing spots.

"I wonder what is to come," he sighed out, oblivious to anything around him.

Sollunta had always taken after her parents. She was quiet, meek, and in love with her home. The thick swirling mists and the cool humid atmosphere were comfortable and beautiful, and for a long time she had dreamed only of living in the cool hollow that made up the area of her family's dens for her whole life. She was content, and happy, even if every day blended into the next easier than shadows in the mist.

Eventually though she began to see less and less life in the pride. Always the same people, doing the same things. No one new had joined in a long, long time. She prayed, hoping the gods that watched over them would come and revive her beloved home, but it seemed instead that the gods were urging them to move on. She had been in on several conversations with her father about the possibility. He told her he had been born outside the pride so long ago, but had been too young to remember it. The thought of leaving scared Sollunta, but knowing that good lions like her father came from that land made it seem...well, it was something to think about.

She spotted her brother and threw herself down beside him with a 'whump' of flattening grass. She sighed, mirroring his own sentiment, and closed her eyes. "I think we're...leaving. That's what's too come." She said just loud enough to be heard. She didn't want to think about it just then, and she pinched her eyes shut. Would the gods still hear her prayers in a foreign land? Would they be mad that she'd left the land of her pride? She didn't know.

WHUMP! The sound was enough to make him flip over, almost falling into the water. Of course, it had to be his sister. She'd be one of the only ones left on the land - it was hard to see someone new walking next to him, striking up a conversation.

"Watching me when I don't know you're here again, Sollunta?" he asked with a vague smile.

"Hmm, I don't know where we'd leave to, though... Do you? I mean, didn't this whole group just come to this land from somewhere else? Where else could we all move to..?"

He looked around, scanning if anyone else had been nearby - but there was none. It seemed that even the members of the pride were scarce these days. None bothered to say "hi" as warmly as they had before, or at least from what he remembered when he was a cub.

"I mean, we're used to being the shaman for the Mizuka'nyevu, can you imagine doing something else somewhere else? What if they don't need shaman?"
