Feliks was leaning on the counter of the skate shop doodling on a sheet of paper. It seemed like a slow day and he'd already straightened everything and dusted, twice. So now he was hoping someone would come in and give him something to do instead of trying to plan out new moves when he went to the skate park.

All of this back and forth from Earth to the Surrounding was getting old very fast. It was also leaving the blonde very little time to just relax. She had work, but then after work she was pretty much taking her time to go visit the Surrounding to assist with the effort of babysitting a bunch of random people.
Today was a rare day. The day she had off. Rather than be a good Samaritan during her work hours, she figured she deserved some personal time to herself. Ellie figured she could treat her usual work hours as if it was her job, though the job itself would be simply to take it easy.
She had spent the morning in her garage tinkering around on her ever constant project, but then decided to break for lunch. Changing from her garage suit to some sort of clothing and lazily wiping away any grease, she ran off to the Taqueria. After eating her fill, she decided to wander about. It was then that the skate shop came into view.
"...it's been a while since I've bought any shorts fer myself..." she said in a low tone to herself. With a casual shrug, she then wandered into the shop. The sound of an electronic bell easily signaled that there was someone new in the shop.

Feliks heard the electronic bell sound and his head immediately popped up from his doodling to look at the new customer. Oh! He smiled at her, "Hello Miss, welcome to Mad Marxz Skate Shop. If there's anything I can help you with let me know." Obviously this was well rehearsed, as Feliks didn't even miss a beat while saying it.
He almost hoped she was like some of the customers that wanted to talk while they shopped and ask questions because at this point he'd be a lot less bored. Even if this was one of those people that didn't know when to shut up. So Feliks was rocking back and forth slightly in silent hopes that he could provide her with assistance the whole he was trying not to look like an eager beaver.

Two words in and this guy already messed up.
Ellie's plans had been to go to the racks and start looking through the shorts, but instead this guy's comment had earned him her negative attention. Walking up with a strange smile upon her face that seemed almost seething with anger, she stopped right in front of him.
The first thing she said was a simple observation as she had to crane her neck down slightly as she got nearly face to face with a complete stranger. "Yer short."
The reality of it was that the tomboy was just pretty tall, but that didn't mean she couldn't call someone short.
The next thing she said was "Don't call me 'Miss'..." Her eyes glanced to the name badge. "...Sh*t-liks."

Feliks paused looking at her, his brow lofted when she was smiling. Obviously this wasn't quite scripted, and he paused staring at her trying to figure out what to say. "First off it's Felix, like that cat only with a ks."
He said watching her, "Second you're tall, so obviously I'm short. Thirdly, I have to address you buy something when you come in and the company doesn't approve of hey you as proper addressing."

She wasn't about to give this guy a reason to call the police on her for assault, but one could have questioned how close she was to stepping over the line. With a finger, she jabbed at his name tag rather aggressively.
"I didn't ask fer reasons why yer callin' me that. I'm sayin' 'don't call me Miss.' And all I see on yer tag is 'sh*t' and 'liks,' and I don't think any cat is named that!"
Backing up a bit to give this guy room to breathe, she then rolled her eyes. "Grow yerself a set of balls and ask th'obvious question... I'll be over there when ya finally decide to stop actin' like a p***y!" She gestured to a rack and began to walk over to that destination.

He was standing there watching the blonde, obviously a bit confused and a little worried. Trying to keep an eye on her and not her finger, which obviously he was more than a little worried it'd turn into smacking him if he wasn't careful. He blinked blankly, "Do you talk to everyone like that?"
He asked probably not the question she meant but it was a question however he paused when she called him a p***y. Now that wasn't fair at all, he followed her and leaned on the rack near the one she was shifting through, "So what should I call you?"
He pondered the possibility of finding something super girly to call her that wouldn't get him in trouble if he boss was to hear. He could pull the my little pony card, perhaps pinkie pie? She looked like a girl that hated pink.

It wasn't like the blonde was ignorant about how she spoke. She had a mouth that put sailors to shame. It didn't stop her. "Talk t'my mom, my dad, and my dad's best friend 'like that.'" she scoffed as she pulled out a pair of shorts and held them up against her body. They were the sort of shorts that were supposed to be long when compared to the booty shorts that girls tended to wear, but against her long body, they still were a bit short.
However, when she heard the question she wanted to hear, she said in a loud voice that could almost be heard in the back of the shop "DING DING DING! SH*TLIKS GOT IT RIGHT!!"
Yes, she was definitely now giving him a hard time. She set the pair of shorts along her arm then began a slow clap to sarcastically congratulate the employee on his genius.
"Ya call me Ellie. Ellie Spectre." She nodded in his direction rather than offering her hand as usual. This guy had already pressed his luck, and she wasn't about to forgive him immediately with a respectful handshake.

He paused and tilted his head as she admitted talking to her parents and their friends like that. "If I talked to my mom like that I'd be picking my a** off the floor." He muttered glancing around almost thinking she might be around.
Feliks paused and hummed for a second before looking at the rack and picking up a pair of shorts that were stone washed, black and slightly frayed. "So Ellie, these might be long enough if you want something below the knee." He'd noticed the other looked a bit short.
He'd seen the color size she'd picked up so he made sure what he grabbed was the same size or a little bigger. "They'd probably be a bit bigger though, we have some nice belts to go with these."

"Means yer mom still thinks of ya as jus' a kid."
That was Ellie's assessment, and she didn't even bother to hold that assessment in. "Ain't nothin' wrong 'bout cussin' in front of other adults... there's a difference between cussin' in front of 'em and cussin' them out."
She barely spared his offered pair of shorts a glance, and when she had, she rolled her eyes very noticeably at the selection he had made. "Yeah, yer definitely a salesman... tryin' a classic up-sell." Her dad was a used car salesman. She had seen pretty much every attempt at up-selling ever to come into existence. It was one of the things her dad had taught her early on. Do not fall of an up-sell.
"...next thing ya know, I'll be buying shorts, a belt, some skater shoes, and probably five of yer finest skater shirts. Oh, and a skateboard that I'd never use." The pair of shorts she had on her arm was set back upon the rack.

Feliks paused, shook his head but he didn't continue that train of the conversation he just let it sit there. He didn't think it was respectful to swear like a sailor.
"Anyways...." He put the shorts back, "I was only trying to help you don't have to buy anything you don't want." He rolled his shoulders and walked back towards the counter. "Funny thing about sales is that the customer is always right. So if you say no then the answer is no."
"There are sales racks though in the back if you want cheaper stuff. I'll let you browse." He went back to his sketching book. If she didn't want help he'd just doodle, "Yell at me if you need help or want to try anything on. I'll unlock the fitting room."

As the salesman basically seemed to escape back to his little spot with that pad of paper, the blonde couldn't help but grin. "Sh*t... yer not very good at this..." she muttered under her breath at his expense. The fact was he essentially was abandoning the customer. Yes, Ellie was hard to satisfy in a retail setting, but seemingly giving up was not a good way to ensure a sale. Her own dad would definitely still be trying. Perhaps looking for an opportunity to spark up a conversation about something the customer would be interested in.
Of course, her Dad's world and Ellie's own were two different places.
Not giving the world of retail much more thought, the tomboy began to sort through the various pairs of shorts until she found 5 pairs that seemed satisfactory to her tastes.
Rather than yell, she rather walked over to where he was standing in a rather civil manner, leaning over to try to look over whatever the clerk was trying to doodle.
"Looks like crap..."

Feliks paused, and looked up from his doodle of what oddly appeared to be skate board moves or a crappily drawn horse. It was hard to tell with all the dotted lines and scribbled words with arrows.
"Well thank you for your.... uh.... input." He said looking up at her coolly with Magenta eyes focused on her yellow ones, "Would you like to try those on?" He asked having noticed the shorts in her arm. He'd given up the first time because he didn't want his a** kicked by a girl.

She wasn't done with her input. Oh no, not by a long shot.
"Ya need t'stop takin' a sh*t behind th'counter there and spreadin' it on yer paper, tryin' t'pass it off like it's art. It ain't art. I can smell how crappy it is dude... jus' stop. Seriously... it's 'bout as creative as monkey's flingin' their own feces..."
No Ellie, tell poor Feliks how you really feel!
When he eventually mentioned the fitting rooms (indirectly of course), the blonde's head bobbed up and down. "What took ya so long t'ask?" Various places that sold clothing had their own unique ways of doing fitting rooms, depending on their layout. She held out her hand, all five fingers extended.
"I've got five pieces... tell me where t'go and I'll go..."

"I have to unlock the door, policy and all." Feliks sighed as he reached for the key to the fitting rooms along with a tag that had a number on it. "It's not art, it's strategy planning." He said as he motioned for her to follow him.
"We're running a guild war tonight and I was trying to plan out protection detail." He shrugged as he unlocked the door to the fitting room and placed a tag on the door to show it was occupied and stepped back after she had the door, to keep it from locking on her.
He shrugged, "Iunno if you accessorize like some people like to do or not." Feliks wasn't about to try to 'shove' anything else on her but he was admittedly getting a little bit curious, "However, if you were to accessorize, is there anything in particular you'd be looking for?"
