This is a PRP between Kiran (Kazu-chan) and Bao (Lilbabe80 cool
Setting: Kiran's falcon, Aditi, flies away from him and comes to land on Bao's leg while she is reading at Cherry Tree Hill.
*Note: I don't have the cert for Bao yet, so that's why there is a cropped pic of her there.

Things at home were getting stressful. Just yesterday, her father had to bury one of the Lunarian that worked for him. The poor man had been killed sometime the night before and they found him a few feet from their estate. It had looked like he had crawled to their home, most likely seeking aid but didn't quite make it. The whole thing had made Bao quite sad and she didn't like feeling sad. In a fit to get rid of her sorrow, she had been particularly harsh to her servants while ordering them about. That was why she had to get out of the house. Then her mother had decided to add to it all.
Bao settled down beneath the tree atop Cherry Tree Hill. She always found this place to be peaceful and made the walk out to get rid of stress by reading. Her mother was getting on her case to do more lady-like things, the first time her mother had ever been pushy about anything. She wanted none of it and would rather listen to her dad talk strategy with the Lunarian's that fought under him. The sun was high in the sky and a few puffy white clouds drifted above. It was the perfect setting for reading since the weather was so nice. The tree provided the perfect amount of shade and Bao allowed herself a few minutes of silence with her eyes closed.
After relaxing a bit, Bao opened the book that she had sneaked out from her mother's collection. It was a rather worn, old one and was held together with thick stitching along the spine. There was great satisfaction in knowing her mother couldn't stop her. Of course, Bao was a bit curious as to why her mother suddenly grew an opinion on how she should live her life. A sigh escaped her lips and she decided it was best not to think on it. She opened to the first page and quickly lost herself in a story about young love that lasts till death.
Somewhere in the middle of the book, a beautiful red-necked falcon landed on top of her leg. The talons of the bird dug into her leg a bit painfully but Bao didn't mind. It wasn't gripping her leg to the point of puncturing skin, though she couldn't say that about her clothes. She gently put down the book, making sure to move slowly so as not to spook the falcon. In a soft voice, she said, "Hello. Are you lost little falcon?" They weren't allowed to keep pets at her home, so it was a real treat to have such a beautiful creature this close to her.

The day was nice. The sunny was out and shining brightly high in the blue sky overhead. Puffy white cloud lazily rolled past, like even they were taking a break today to relax and do nothing. Kiran had spent the majority of the morning at work before his boss decided to let him off early. A part of him suspected that even his boss, as grouchy as he could get when a boat needed to be finished in a hurry, wanted to enjoy such a great day. Kiran had to admit he was quite happy to have the time off.
However, at the moment, frustration was building up in him. Since it was such a nice day, he decided to take out his falcon Aditi and let her soar around for a couple of hours. Kiran had been spending so much time with work and fishing and selling those fish and training and the rest of it that he hadn't actually had much time to let Aditi spread her wings for more than an hour or so every couple of weeks. Aditi wasn't happy with being cooped up all the time and now kept trying to take a chunk out of his fingers whenever he tried to pet her.
Kiran tried to explain more than a few time that he was sorry and that he didn't mean to leave her alone for so long, but he doubted his words were getting through to her. He made a promise to himself to try and spend more time with her, letting her fly free. But right now, he needed to find her. He had ran all through town trying to keep up with her as she flew off, as a punishment to him, he guessed. He knew eventually she would return to him. She always did. But he always worried when she flew out of sight for too long. What if something happened to her?
As he approached Cherry Tree Hill, Kiran smiled as he spotted Aditi spiraling downward as she came in for a landing. He started up the hill. Then he hesitated, surprised, to see that she landed, perching on another Lunarian's leg. "Not too lost," Kiran responded upon hearing her question. "Just a bit far from her mew."

Bao looked up from the falcon when she heard a voice, a male voice to be exact, answer her question. A small smile played upon her lips and her eyes lit up. The male voice happened to belong to a very cute Lunarian, one who looked a little older than her. The falcon obviously belonged to him because the bird seemed to straighten up a bit more when he had come into view. Bao had also straightened her back a bit more too. He was too cute to pass up, it must be meant to be that they met on this day, here on Cherry Tree Hill.
So the falcon was a her now. Bao's smile grew before she spoke. "So she belongs to you? Do you always spend time with beautiful ladies?" There was a distinct laziness to her voice and if one was able to pick it up, a flirtatious tone to it. It definitely held a double meaning. After all, his falcon was beautiful and Bao knew she was beautiful too. Maybe not to all who glanced at her but she definitely had her own uniqueness that made her pretty, just as all Lunarian's did. Looks was just a matter of taste.
Bao waited for a reaction, her eyes studying the Lunarian before her. He had a serious look about him, or maybe it was just the way that he looked. His coloring though, made her think of water. It made her wonder if he was opposite of her not only in looks but in personality too. That would be incredibly interesting and perhaps a bit fun. She always liked flirting with those that didn't want it or even know it.

Kiran walked the rest of the way up the hill. He sighed internally at the reproachful stare that Aditi gave him. She bristled her feather. "Well, you could say that," he said as he scratched the back of his head. "But I might belong to her as much as she belongs to me." It was an odd way of thinking about the relationship between a man and his bird. But sometimes, Aditi struck him as a friend who got jealous whenever he didn't spend enough time with her.
He blinked, his attention torn away from the rift between him and Aditi by the woman's second question. "Ah," he mumbled ponderously. The question reminded him of all the different women that he had met, each one beautiful in their own rights. "Well, sometimes," he answered with a roll of his shoulder. Flirting was still an art lost on him. While he might compliment a woman's beauty, in most cases, he used it as a means to distract the woman while trying to lift an item of value from her, reminding him of his first encounter with Van.
His gaze dropped to Aditi, who didn't seem interested in forgiving him just yet. Kiran frowned at the falcon but decided she deserved a little bit of freedom. "Do you come up here often?" he asked in a friendly manner. This was his first time actually ever coming to Cherry Tree Hill. The only time he had really seen the famous hill was in the painting that his sister had done and let him use as a wedding gift to his friend Yue. Kiran never really had reason to come to the hill until Aditi decided to fly over to it.

Bao watched the interaction between the falcon and her owner with great interest. It seemed that the bird did have some kind of mastery over him. It seemed the falcon held a secret that many women still searched for. The falcon seemed content to stay put instead of go to her master. Maybe she was giving him the cold shoulder. The thought made her laugh, a soft laugh, but a laugh nonetheless.
Bao held out her hand to the falcon to see if she would hop onto it. Without moving her hand from the falcon, she answered, "I guess you could say that. I usually come here to escape. On nice days like this, it's very peaceful." Her answer was just an answer, no hidden meanings and no flirtatious tone. He seemed unable or unwilling to flirt back. She'd have to rethink her approach to flirting with him.
Just then, the falcon decided to take interest in Bao's hand. She lightly pecked at the hand held out to her, it didn't hurt but it surprised Bao. Maybe she was hungry or maybe she was just trying to see if Bao's hand was safe or not. "It's ok little one. I won't hurt you." She gave the falcon a friendly, encouraging smile and she pushed her hand a little bit closer. Bao tilted her head to look at the man, "My name is Bao, in case you were wondering. Who might you two be?" Her question obviously meant to include the falcon, after all, the bird surely must have a name.

Kiran glanced around the area. It was a pretty peaceful place, definitely a nice place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. He, of course, thrived in the setting of crowded streets and enjoyed weaving through the thick gatherings or merely watching it all from rooftops. His preferred idea of finding a bit of peace and quiet was to find a secluded spot to do some fishing. But this spot wasn't too bad, if he felt like sitting around somewhere without being disturbed.
"It's nice to meet you, Bao," Kiran said with a gentlemanly bow. "I'm Kiran."
Aditi, at that moment, decided to take flight. She flew the short distance between them and came to land on Kiran's shoulder. Her talons pinched uncomfortably into his shoulder, and she gave him a none-too-gentle n** at the ear fin, apparently not very happy that he had not yet introduced her.
"And this is Aditi," Kiran added belatedly, and Aditi puffed up her chest importantly. He reached up a hand to her, and Aditi nudged her beak into his curled hand, looking for a treat that might be hidden there. Sometimes, it really did feel to him that she owned him more than he owned her. He rolled his eyes at the falcon before his attention strayed back to Bao. "What's that you're reading?" he asked, taking note of the book resting beside her.

Bao followed his glance with her own, taking in the surrounding area. The great thing about Cherry Tree Hill was that it offered a great view of the city without being very city-like. Of course, they would never use the hill to build on either. It was an important location to them. Probably the reason that Bao liked it so much. After the fighting had started in the secret of the night, few Lunarians ventured to the hill as they used to.
Bao's mouth curved into a familiar flirtatious smile. Now she knew his name, she liked it. “Nice to meet you, Kiran.” She pronounced his name slowly, rolling it off her tongue, almost as if she were tasting the syllables.
Just then, the falcon decided to take to flight and land on Kiran's shoulder. Bao watched with interest at the way they interacted with each other. It seemed more like the falcon was the master in their relationship. “Aditi, a beautiful name for a beautiful falcon.” She glanced down at the little tears in her clothing from Aditi's claws. Looked like she would just need to get something new to wear later. Her father would definitely have questions about it. It made her wonder what side Kiran was on but she didn't feel like asking him at the moment.
At his question, she picked up the book that she had been reading. The cover was so worn that you couldn't really make out the title. “I'm not sure what it's called. All I can make out is 'The N', but I'm sure that isn't the whole title. It's a love story, something my mother reads.” Her voice had turned a bit wistful at the mention of love. While she liked to flirt, one day she'd like to really find love. But she was still young and had a lot to learn before finding the one for her. Bao looked up at Kiran from where she was sitting. “Do you like to read?”

Aditi squawked approvingly at the compliment. Kiran gave a subtle roll of his eyes at the falcon's response, but he couldn't deny the statement. Aditi was quite beautiful for a falcon, and it seemed that she had finally forgiven him. "I believe that means she is happy with your comment," Kiran told Bao, interpreting the falcon's actions as best as he could. He reached up and stroked a finger carefully down Aditi's neck, happy when the falcon didn't jerk away or try to snap at his finger.
Kiran turned his attention back to her as Bao answered his question. He wasn't familiar with a book called The N, but a number of books came to mind that started with that. The number was quickly cut down to zero at the mention of a love story. Kiran never bothered much with those kind of stories, though he wouldn't be surprised if his mother and sister read that type of book. "Sometimes," he admitted, though most of what he had read in the past was for school.
"But I don't usually get the chance to just sit and read." Kiran rolled his shoulder, forgetting for the moment about the falcon perched on it. Aditi squawked indignantly as she spread her wings and whacked him in the back of the head with one. A cringe flickered briefly onto his face. "I have other things keeping me tied up," he explained as his eyes darted quickly toward Aditi at the mention of "things." Aditi puffed up her chest again like she was the most important of those things.

Bao liked Aditi. The falcon clearly was an expert at taming men. Kiran also seemed really nice too. She wondered what exactly they did for fun. Aditi certainly seemed like she yearned for freedom but there was a definite attachment to Kiran there too. She gave Kiran a slow, easy smile and then gave him a wink at his explanation for Aditi's squawk. "I know how to please a woman just as much as I can a man." Bao couldn't help herself, she could only suppress her flirtatious side for so long.
She had to cover her mouth with her hand to hide the fact that her mouth was currently grinning in laughter at Aditi hitting Kiran with her wing. But it was obvious that Bao took great joy in watching the whole thing. Her eyes were lit up and soft giggling could be heard coming from her. Kiran seemed to do that a lot, roll his shoulder. It must be an unconscious habit of his, one that Aditi clearly didn't like. "I see that she still has to train you on some things." The laughter was still there in her voice. It was a teasing comment since Aditi clearly seemed to make herself out as the higher being.
After finally calming herself down from all the laughter, Bao lowered her hand. She had to wonder what it was that he did to relax. Maybe he trained Aditi or the falcon merely made him thing she was being trained. "What do you do for fun Kiran?" A smile full of humor found it's way to her face. "Clearly Aditi makes you chase after her for fun." This was definitely more interesting then the book and Bao could feel her muscles relaxing. At least she would go home free of the stress that brought her here.

It always surprised him how Aditi seemed to know when someone was complimenting her. She always got that air of superiority around her. Kiran actually worried that she might be getting too big an ego from those compliments. But he was about to mention that out loud as it might cause Aditi to bite him and take off for another long flight that would make him chase after her just to keep an eye on her. He didn't feel up to making another run around the city.
Kiran turned to Bao as one eyebrow lifted. "Well, she still has plenty of training to do herself," he said as he stroked Aditi's neck. He was still working on training her to deliver messages. It wasn't going as well as he hoped - and would probably go better if he spent more time at it than he had been - but it was progressing little by little.
He chuckled and nodded. "Sometimes she does that," he agreed, but she mostly only made him chase after her when she wasn't happy with it for one reason or another. Since this was their first meeting, he decided not to mention his habits of eavesdropping on passersby or secretly lifting value items off Lunarians. "Fishing mostly," he said after a moment's thought. "And recently building boats." He had come to really enjoy working for Bojing, a master boat builder.
He shifted his weight as he reached into his pocket to retrieve a small treat for Aditi. When he held up his hand to her, Aditi happily snatched the treat from his hand. "What else do you do for fun?" Kiran asked with his attention back on Bao.

Bao stretched her arms above her. Her neck was getting a bit stiff from constantly looking up at Kiran, so she stood up. Then she bent down to stretch out the rest of her muscles before leaning back against the tree. The breeze felt really good. She had been listening to Kiran tell her about his hobbies, two hobbies to be exact. Bao was sure that Aditi wouldn't appreciate him calling her a hobby. The falcon seemed more like a friend or companion, definitely not a hobby.
Fishing, she'd never done that before but it seemed like it would be fun. "Fishing, you should take me with you one day. I'd like to try that." At the mention of boat building though, she definitely didn't think that would be fun. It sounded like way too much hard work. That was what she had servants for. Though she cared deeply for each and every one of them. She smiled at how quickly Aditi took the treat from Kiran's hand.
Kiran then asked her what she liked to do. She tilted her head and answered in all honesty. "I like to flirt with any cute lunarians I meet." Bao gave him a wink and a smirk before continuing. "I like to fly kites, it's relaxing and fun. I also like to run. Well, it's not running exactly." She tried to think of a way to explain what it was she liked to do. There was definitely running involved but it wasn't just running. "I guess it's like running with acrobatics thrown in the mix and I use whatever is around me to perform moves..." She trailed off, at a lost of how to describe it to Kiran. "I'll have to show you one day I guess. I can't describe it. But it makes me feel free, like I'm not caged in by this world, by the rules that we are bound to." Just thinking about it made her feel good and excited.

Kiran glanced out over the city as Bao stood. This spot did have a very nice view of the entire city laid out before it. He scanned the city, trying to see if he could find his apartment or his parents' home. But with the mass of homes and walls and businesses and streets like a labyrinth, it was hard to pinpoint one home from another. He gave it up after a moment or two of searching and turned his head around again as Bao began to speak.
"It's pretty relaxing," he admitted. It was probably the most relaxing activity that he did, though he would say that boat building could be kind of relaxing, too, in its own way. He lost track of time sometimes when he was working on a boat. It was hard work, but he always liked a bit of hard work. "But sometimes, the fish don't bite as much and you have just sit there waiting and hoping one will come along and take the bait."
Kiran nodded as Bao talked about the things she liked to do. He chuckled. "I do a lot of running," he nodded to the falcon on his shoulder, "as you might imagine." But chasing after Aditi wasn't his only excuse for running. It was one way to keep in shape, and speed always helped in battle. Or if he was in a tight spot and needed to outrun someone, or a mob of someones. Thinking about speed and battles reminded Kiran of his last fight with Huang. He wasn't about to let himself slow down and let Huang beat him in a battle of speed.
But Kiran wasn't sure he really understood what Bao was trying to describe with her running. "I guess you will have to show me sometime," he agreed, still wondering over what kind of running she did. Kiran tilted his head to the side away from the shoulder on which Aditi sat as a curious expression wrinkled his brow. "You feel caged?"

Bao nodded when he explained fishing. Aditi seemed to have calmed down, not bothering Kiran and not making any noises. She leaned against the tree and stared out over the buildings. "Sounds relaxing and frustrating at the same time." She laughed softly, trying to imagine what exactly it would be like to go fishing. That was something she definitely had no experience or confidence in. Still, it would be a great experience and she'd learn something new. Well, it would be great if she could do it with Kiran.
She was starting to like him, not in the sense of anything serious but as someone she could spend time with. Maybe they could truly be friends. If something more came out of it, well that would just have to happen. Bao wasn't ready to look for anything serious. She was just starting out as a student at the Academy. She still had much to learn. Maybe after she gained more experience in life and learning, then she'd look for something serious. Of course, she'd have to also get father's approval. He was always one to want the best for her. If anything, he'd approve of a lunarian that he thought could protect her.
She glanced at Aditi when Kiran nodded to the falcon, saying he did a lot of running. Bao gave him a big smile in return, her eyes lighting up in humorous joy. The urge to laugh was there but she held it in out of consideration for Aditi. She nodded, "Yes, I'll show you some time. You should come over to my estate. That is where I do most of my running." A bit of bossiness crept into her tone of voice. She studied him a bit more closely. He definitely didn't look like a noble but it didn't mean he couldn't be fighting for the nobles. Bao would just have to wait and see which side he was on, not like she thought of it as a big deal. If one of the legion didn't bother her, she wouldn't bother them.
Bao watched with amusement as his brow wrinkled with curiosity. She shrugged and replied, "My father is quite protective of me. I'm his favorite." That was fact and was said as such with no bragging. "He didn't allow me to learn some things that I wanted to." She didn't mention the fact that she knew no martial arts whatsoever. That kind of information could be used to hurt her and her family, something she didn't want to risk. "My...running is kind of in defiance of him, a way to break away from his rules." She offered him a playful smile to cover up her disappointment in being so sheltered.

Kiran thought about that for a moment. "I suppose it does get a bit frustrating sometimes," he agreed. But in general, he found that the time spent relaxing while fishing outweighed the frustrations of not catching any fish. He had some off days but could pull in pretty good hauls when the fish were biting.
He nodded. "I'd like to see it sometime," he said, still curious about the running. From the term estate, Kiran guessed that Bao was probably from a noble family. He had never been into the noble estate area since he wasn't from a rich or powerful family. Despite his greedy, thieving nature, he didn't bother to give a thought of trying to sneak into that area and loot some valuables. It was much easier to try snatching something off the rich while they were distracted in the busy main street.
"Ah," Kiran said, knowing a lot about protective family members. But, despite her best efforts, his mother never succeeded in stopping him from doing what he pleased. His mother still hated that he had decided to join in the war between Nobles and Legions. Kiran grinned widely, understanding the desire to break away from rules. "If it were me, and I wanted to do something that wasn't allowed, I'd find a sneaky way to get around those rules." It probably wasn't the wisest thing to encourage someone else to break rules, but he couldn't resist suggesting it. He always hated rules like "no more fighting" or "no more scamming money from people." But now that he was living in his own place, he didn't have any of those rules to follow.
