Claire had created a new hobby for herself-- potato toys. As far as she was aware, nobody else had this hobby and it was obviously very original and unique.
As to what it was... it was an interesting hobby. She had placed a sack of potatoes on the top of her usual table outside the mathematics classroom and a few potatoes were spilling out. She was sat with her tongue out, drawing a face on one of the potatoes, including very important features such as ears and sideburns. Not to forget the beard, of course. Also on the table was a small pile of sticks. She grabbed four of them and stuck them into the sides and bottom of the potato. Now it had arms and legs. All of that was fairly simple. She now moved on to the very difficult and fun bit-- decoration. She had a packet of various decoration materials such as feathers, sequins and glitter. The glue was slowly spilling, turned on its side. Claire didn't notice this, however. Her attention was taken up by footsteps coming closer to her.
"Hello?" she said, spinning around on her chair.

She ignored the girl's greeting, instead pointing towards the tube of glue that had fallen on its side. Ordinarily she wouldn't care, but she'd almost stepped in it, and what if her boots had gotten damaged, somehow?
On closer inspection, though.. this girl seemed to be creating.. things. Out of potatoes. And she seemed to be decorating them with sparkly things. Huh. Were these meant to be.. dolls, or figurines of some sort?
"That's a cute cow," she said, just slightly intrigued. "Are you intending to sell these?"

She followed the ghoul's finger to the glue and made a small "oh!" as she put it upright again. She watched the girl intently, rather confused, as she studied what Claire was doing. She blinked a few times as the ghoul got closer.
"Oh, well, it wasn't supposed to be a cow, but it can be!" Claire responded, looking cheerful as usual. "No, I don't need the money. I'm making them for fun! Would you like one?"
Claire picked up the 'cute cow' and held it up like and offering to this orange oompa loompa dressed ghoul. "I'm Claire. Who are you?" she asked, staring into her soul.

She.. didn't need the money? Interesting. Granted, money wasn't too necessary for survival- but when you just wanted to hoard more, and more, and more... every single bit counted.
But wait- that wasn't a cow?
Vieve blinked again, looking at it more closely. Was it a bear? A fox? It couldn't be a rabbit! Either way, she accepted the potato toy from Claire, turning it around and observing it.
It did look like a cow...
"I'm Vieve," she replied, still a bit distracted by the toy. It wasn't shiny, but something about it was adorable, though she couldn't pinpoint it exactly. Oh! Maybe...
"Could you decorate this, too?" She pointed to the bag of decorations- naturally, it was the sequins that caught her attention. "And thank you for the cow, by the way!"

Claire moved onto the next potato. This one was going to be a girl! She stuck the sequins on first, very quickly, and drew a face on it with huge, ghetto lips. Hot.
"Hello, Vieve!" she said, continuing with the ghetto-fabulous doll. Then Vieve mentioned decorations for her cow, and Claire nodded vigorously, dropping the doll and taking the cow. She said it was a cow, yes? Well, Claire picked out the sparkliest black sequins she could find and started sticking them on the doll as cow spots. Beautiful! She realized that the cow also needed a tail, so she dug out a pipe-cleaner and cut it to size before sticking it in the potato's backside. "That there is a tail!" she whispered, as though it was a secret, and handed it back to Vieve. "You can sit down, if you like."
Then, she picked up the ghetto-fabulous potato and decided it needed more decoration, so she gave it some more lipstick and make-up. It was her favourite so far.

Vieve had no idea why, but this was fascinating her. Of course it was just potatoes and a few sparkles, but.. shinies.
She just liked them; there was nothing much else to say about that.. Watching as Claire stuck sequins onto her cow for her, and then a tail, she almost wondered if she could make one from scratch, herself. It didn't look too hard- just a lot of sticking things into or on other things.
And then Claire invited her to sit. Somewhere in her heart Vieve could sense this was some sort of trap; if she accepted, she'd probably spend hours sitting here. Hours that could be spent treasure-hunting, or just doing something more productive, in general.
But perhaps she'd stay just long enough to make one. Yes. Just one.
"I'm a tad busy, but I guess I could make some time for this. Like, fifteen minutes. Tops." The cow she'd received as a present was propped up on the table, looking directly at her with its many, many eyes.
Just fifteen minutes, Vieve thought to herself. I don't even.. something this stupid...
