Now why didn't she just do this interview on her own? Danny knew exactly how the club functioned. She could've just written the whole thing by herself, and it would've come out the exact same way.
Yet ... Amrita said she had to interview the president. It said very clearly on the sheet of instructions "PRESIDENT." Danny herself, was a vice-president. It said so on the club application. That was her role, vice-pres. She wasn't the president.
It was really quite simple. She couldn't just do the intreview because she wasn't the president. If there was one thing she was good at, it was following an instruction (once she understood the instruction, and it was simple enough of course).
So she found herself at the local take-out place, sitting in a booth by herself. Of course, she wouldn't be alone for very long. Not when she had her ... EYEPHONE! Danny whipped it out and typed a simple message.
Text Message meet me @ spooks. if ur not here in 5 minutes, i will burn down ur dorm. & roch? FREE FOOD. The 5 minutes part probably wasn't even necessary.

He showed up two minutes later, riding his skateboard. "Yo! Where's the food?" he asked, stopping and popping his board so he could carry it. "And seriously, free food works a lot better than threatening to burn stuff down, y'know?" he asked.
There was a grin on his face. After the hellish week he'd just gone through it would be good to hang out with Danny, and not think. Or practice. He was sick and tired of practicing and failing. He swore his FEAR was on vacation or something.

"I don't even get a 'Danny I missed you so much!'" she said, mimicking a concerned dame when it came to the proper timing. She even threw her hand on her forehead for extra effect.
Danny pulled out her haphazard wallet (it was more like a bunch of seeds, receipts, papers, cards, shiny things, etc. all rubber banded together) and threw it at Roch. "Go get what you want then come back," she said. She was going to be as official and serious as possibly.
That facade would probably be gone in about 10 minutes tops.
Nervously, she pulled out the questions Amrita had given her. She could do this. She could totally do this. No problem. She would ask the questions, and Roch would respond civilly, and they would act like jolly old gents.
Probably.

He grabbed the wallet and headed to the front counter to order his massive pizza and a jug of pop. The place was packed with kids, all of the games full up. It was his sort of joint-- and it was even karaoke night! Sweet! Best hang out place ever!
"Hey, they'll call my number when it's done," he said, tossing her her wallet back. "Do we wanna game or karaoke first?" he asked, looking around eagerly as he dropped down across from her. "Look, it's not that long of a line for the karaoke machine!"

"Rooooooooch," she whined. Maybe she had picked the first place with shiny lights. Maybe she HAD played some of the games before he showed up. Maybe this was all her fault.
BUT THEY WERE GOING TO BE CIVIL.
She caught her wallet with pure instinct. It was a good thing she was attentive in that area! Danny put the bundle back into her pocket and hid the questions under the table. No way she was letting Roch see that she had the assistance.
What had Amrita said to do first? Oh right right. Man these booths were uncomfortable. Danny had to prop her feet up on the side opposite to her just to make her legs fit. Sometimes being a tall girl kind of sucked.
"Kay so, the reason I invited you here um," she said. This was kind of weird wasn't it? She wasn't used to having to talk so formal. Had you mentioned this was a date setting, Danny might've just flipped the table and left. She hadn't realized this could potentially be "romantic" (not that she would ever want that anyways).
Danny pulled a pad of paper and a pencil out (like the detective ones in the movies!!) and wrote a little 1). "So Amrita wants me to um ... collect ... an information blurb about Fright Music Club." She had learned from Ren that that didn't mean you had to fight the person. Which was a tad disappointing. She would've like to beat up Roch with purpose.
Reading directly off the paper, she said, "And it's for yearbook, so you should ex... expo ... expand on concept aim and purpose." She smiled as she finished off the sentence. That wasn't so hard!

He stared at her blankly. "Danny," he said abruptly. "You're the vice pres. Make something up!" Which showed just how serious he was about becoming a great club leader, didn't it?
"Wait. You mean... you're on the newspaper club thing?" he asked, completely distracted as the issue hit him belatedly. "Why?"

"ROCH," she said, slapping her forehead, "It's 'cause I'm vice that I can't make something up! Look!" She lifted the instructions Amrita gave her and point directly to wear it said "President" in bold, black ink, then continued, "See? It says president! I can't do it cause I'm not the president!!"
Danny threw her hands up in the air, clearly exasperated with how stupid Roch was being. Didn't he know it said president, I mean c'mon that's l-
Wait. Wait wait. She had just revealed she had instructions, and was reading off them.
VADERNOOOOOOOOOO.
Sighing, she said, "Not the newspaper, the yearbook. It sounded like fun and they had a really cool pen that flipped colors and was all prettyyyyy." She finished the sentence off in a whine.

"You joined the yearbook club cuz of a pretty pen," he said deadpan. "Oooookay, sure, let's come up with a quick blurb. Something like, 'The FMC want to bring people that enjoy music together, and create opportunities to play for other people,' or something."
He looked at the number card in his hand as a number was called over the loudspeaker, and pouted when he realized it wasn't his. "So you've got a list you gotta fill out or something?"

Danny thought the pretty pen was a completely legit reason, thank you very much. Either way, she wrote down exactly what Roch said, word for word. That seemed like an acceptable bit of intformation. Her tongue stuck out of her mouth as she tried to write down the correct words and spelling, but she probably fudged quite a bit of it.
"How do you spelll...." she trailed off as she continued writing. Oportunitees sounded about right. Right.
Brushing her hair out of her face, she said, "Umm ... yeah, Amrita gave me this list thing ..." Now that it was out in the open, there was no reason to hide it. "So ... number two is a list of updated members."
Had she interpreted that horribly incorrectly? Maybe. Continuing, she said, "Do we have any downdated members?" She scratched her head trying to think of any that came to mind.

"Y'mean like they got dumped?" he asked blankly. "I dunno, haven't asked them. But for memebers... we got you, me, Ren, Bul, Demi, Xiu, Mitsu... Edel, you brought in Calder, right? And I brought in Hel the other day, girl can SING," he said. "Rikki, uh... do you remember his full name, cuz I sure as hell don't. Who else was there? Or is that all of them?"
He leaned back in his booth, checking his number again as the loudspeaker crackled, only to pout a bit as it still wasn't him. "What's the next question? What type of underwear I wear?" he teased.

Danny scratched her head and agreed with Roch, "Yeah I don't know what updated members means either." Roch's answer sounded just about correct though. She started scribbling down the names of people she knew.
Ugh there was that name again. Edel. Danny reluctantly wrote it on the paper, if not before putting a bold >8P face next to it.
The pencil she was writing with tapped against her chin as she tried to think of more members. More members. More. Members.
Duh.
She nudged Roch with her leg from across the table and plainly said, "You forgot about Moure." She added his name to the list. This was a lot easier than she'd thought it be. All the answers were really easy to come up with when they were together. They should really work together more often.
"Okay last but not leeeeeast," she said, thumbing through her instructions, "Any extra tidbits of information ... and um... if another club is affeelihtawted with our club, we're supposed to write it down." She had already gone from "I have to" to "we have to." Nevermind that she didn't know how to pronounce affiliated.

"I've talked with the host club a few times, but it's not official," Roch said. "So I guess we can't report that. Oh! Add another name to that. Vieve. Vee eye ee vee ee," he spelled out.
"She's going to try putting together concerts for us, for a small skimming off the top. No idea if it'll work or not," he added. "She's some sort of fire type, too, you should have a lot in common. Maybe." He jerked as his number was called. "I'll be right back," he said, racing off to the counter.

Vieve was joining the club? Danny still wasn't sure how she felt about that ghoul. Part of her wanted to really like her because she had fire and stuff, but another part of her really wanted Vieve on the other side of the planet.
And a third part of her wanted that damn earring.
Either way, Danny wrote down her name. "Why do we have to do concerts and stuff," she whined, "Can't we just have fun playing toge-"
Roch was already up and getting his pizza. Danny pouted. He was making this much less civil than it was supposed to be. Danny would bet all her seeds that Hellma wouldn't just get up in the middle of a serious meeting and go get pizza.
Then again, no one could predict Hellma's movements.

He came back carrying a huge pizza on a platter. "Awesome," he said as he sat down again. "You want some? You better grab it quick for both our sakes," he added as he grabbed his first slice. "Hey, those all the questions we had to answer?" he asked as he finished it.
DDR was just WAITING for him, he thought. He could SO beat that!

Danny just about slammed her head down on the table. That's it, this meeting was adjourned. There was no way they were getting anything accomplished anymore, not when there was food, flashing lights and music involved.
Sighing, she picked up a piece of her own, and said, "Don't just hoark it down! Jackdammit Rochhhh" She whined the last bit, mourning the loss of her perfectly civil meeting.
Looking back up, Danny's eyes followed Roch's line of sight to the DDR game. Smiling, she said, "Let's go play it?" She had already forgotten her serious self and was back to not caring. Ignorance is bliss, right?
