The real problem was what she was supposed to do with that information. Was she supposed to like … edit the clubs? Now that didn’t make any sense. Why would the yearbook want to change all the clubs? Maybe Amrita had some secret ulterior motive where she wanted to change all the clubs so that they’d worship her! Danny gasped aloud at that thought. But … Amrita was too nice for that, so that probably wasn’t it.
Still, she had some sort of task to do. Well it looked like staring at the paper longer wasn’t going to help her. Danny was going to have to read this. Jack help us all.
Amrita's Instructions
To-Do:
Please contact the President of each approved club (except for the excluded ones, see list below), and attempt to get the following:

Okay, well that was easy enough. All she had to do was find all the leaders. It was like hide-and-seek! She wasn’t really sure where she would get a list of clubs, but she could probably just go to the office later and ask. They had nice secretaries, right? Right. Well maybe not the paper-throwing one, he seemed kind of scary.
Amrita's Instructions
1. An information blurb about their club (please be clear this is for yearbook, in case they want to expand on the Concept/Aim/Purpose!)
Now this was a lot more wording. What was an “information blurb”? Was she supposed to fight the leaders of the clubs for it, like with emblems? Now that seemed fun. Danny liked fighting, a lot. But why would the yearbook need an information blurb? Were they going to clone the little blurb and distribute it in everyone’s yearbook? That didn’t make any sense, and seemed like a waste. Danny shook her head and decided to just skip over it and move onto the next agenda:
Amrita's Instructions
2. An updated Members List, if applicable
Now why did Amrita only want the updated students? What about the outdated students? What about the downdated students? It all seemed a bit discriminatory. Danny bit her lip. Was she part of some scary organization for putting other people down, and worshipping Amrita? Maybe this yearbook thing wasn’t such a great idea…
Amrita's Instructions
3. Any extra tidbits of information they want to add, for example: If a club is affiliated with another club, make a note of it!
This one had too many big words in it. She got the first part: tidbits of information. She would just ask “is there anything else you’d like to add?” like all the fancy newscasters on the skelevision. It would be so official and perfect. The second part though, that made no sense. What was an “affliated”? Why was she required to make notes too? As far as Danny knew, there were only the notes C, D, E, F, G, A, and B. Did Amrita want her to create a new note? Like “the H”? Maybe she wanted a note made in her name, like “The Amrita.” That would be awkward to play. “Yes, A scale goes C, D, E, F, G, A, B, The Amrita, and repeat.” Danny couldn’t help but giggle at that idea. That was just silly.
So Danny just decided to throw out that second part. She would just get as many of these “information blurbs” as she could, and then get a list of the updated members. That would be easy enough right? Just in case, she decided it would be safer to carry the instruction list with her, than to leave it behind. If anything, she could just get Taryn to help her interpret it. Taryn was so nice like that.
Come to think of it, just who did she have to interview? If it was Xiu or Mitsu, Danny might have an easier time with this. They seemed a bit more scared of her than she was of them. Someone like Riley though? That might not be as fun. Maybe she would luck out. Maybe Roch ran all of the clubs in Amityville.
There was only one way to find out, right? Danny got up from her desk, and folded the paper, rather sloppily. She shoved it in her pocket it like it was a receipt from a cash register and then dug through her closet. There were lots of shoes, tons of shiny things, but not much else. Finally she found what she was looking for. Her skateboard!
A sudden flashback of when she had fallen asleep on Roch while they were skateboarding came back to her. Well she had been sleeping somewhat better, but you could never be too sure. Danny stood on the skateboard and just waited for a few moments. Was anything happening? Was she falling asleep?
Nope, definitely not falling asleep! Danny would’ve known if she was falling asleep right? Right.
She wheeled her way down to the office and sat down in one of the chairs. There seemed to be some kind of hubbub going on. Did someone get detention? Danny pitied the fool. She decided not to involve herself with that. Pretty soon, she realized that none of the secretaries were in. There were a few gnomes milling about, so Danny decided to ask them. She picked up the gnome, who’s little feet wiggled. He made some fuss about “let me down you ----“ but Danny payed him no mind. She just hit him on the head, and he immediately stopped. Well that was easy.
“Are you done being all ‘oh nooo’ and ‘let me doooown’?” she asked, with a very serious look on her face (serious for Danny anyways). The gnome just nodded, so she smiled and said, “Well good. Can you tell me where I can find a list of clubs at Amityville and their presidents?”
The gnome gave her a disappointed sort of “you are dumb” look, and pointed behind her. Danny didn’t even notice the look, she was that used to it. Turning around, she saw a corkboard with all of the clubs, their presidents, and various pictures of activities and events and meetings. “Oh!” she exclaimed, dropping the gnome. He rubbed his bottom and shook his fist at her, and then darted away.
Danny pulled out Amrita’s instructions once more and wrote down all of the names she could. She put a question mark next to people she didn’t know at all (some people she knew vaguely from classes) and she put an X next to the clubs she was a member of. It was something like this:
The Garden Club – Belladonna
S.S.A.C - Shape Shifters Appreciation Club – Pachua (?), Remi (?), Jack (?), Mai (?)
Club B.I.T.C.H. – Morrigan (?)
Freakuent Flyers – Tess
Miniature Monstosities – Raziel (?)
FFF – Israfel, Belladonna
Banned Books - Lilura Balandria (?)
Dungeons and Humans Club – Aymet (?)
Paranormal Photography Club – Alwine (?)
Fitness Club – Riley x
NAP Club – Barth
Amityville High Host Club – Aksaja
Scario Kart Club – Ren, LW
Skullinary Club – Alessa (?)
CLIFF – Mandy x
BLURP – Merope
FMC – Stupid idiot x
Movie Club – Bea x
Paranormal Post – Pepin
DANG there were a lot of clubs! How was she supposed to cover all of this? Danny scratched her head, as she ran through the list again. There were a total of 23 25 20 19 clubs at Amityville! Danny was absolutely blown away. Who knew this school had so many people? Well she had a mission now, and looking at the list, it looked like it was going to take a while.
Part of her wanted to just throw the list away and say “sorry Amrita, it’s too hard,” but that wasn’t in her nature. She had made a promise to Amrita to do the best she could, and she was going to keep it. In fact, she would get started right now, and make the best Clubs Editor the school had ever SEEN. It was going to be beautiful.
Or a complete disaster.
But probably beautiful.
