A Wandering Esper

Beloved Stargazer

PostPosted: Sun Sep 25, 2011 10:33 am

That was the good thing about uniforms - a quick power-down, shower, and power up and all traces of what happened had gone. He stepped right back into the night without awakening his roommate (hopefully - the shower of their apartment wasn't the quietest thing in the world, but he hadn't heard any sound from Sebastian's room at all)

He had a few locations he wanted to check, and there was finally the aura of a lieutenant in one of them - blinking into existence just as Alunite was about to teleport again. The energy drain was starting to get to him now, but with some luck, this was the man he was looking for.

Well, this was a man allright - clearly older than most in the negaverse, if not the oldest he knew of. It was hard to tell, in the darkness, and from the rooftop.

"Lieutenant Osumilite, I assume ?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 25, 2011 11:46 am

Lieutenant Osumilite was slacking, relaxing on the rooftop with a flask of scotch and a cigarette dangling between his lips as he lay on the roof. To be fair, he was ahead of his quota in energy draining. With his mother in town providing extra stress and burden to his already stressful life, he had found the best way to take a load off was to drain more energy. Normally his fallback plan would be sex, but the current woman who caught his eye was being withholding and throwing him off his game.

When the voice called his name, he became immediately alert, the cigarette nearly fell out of his lips. The power signature was undoubtedly Chaos-aligned, but the voice was unfamiliar. He slowly turned his head to face the voice - it was a Senshi. One of the corrupts, no doubt. Was he sent there to punish Osumilite for slacking? Or was there other matters to address?

"You've got that right," Osumilite smiled as he removed the cigarette from his lips, taking a long exhale. "Pardon my French, Senshi, but who the ******** are you?"

Little did Osumilite know that Alunite didn't even have the rank to punish a slacking lieutenant, in spite of the power he processed. So no, he was certainly not here for that.

He had a message to carry.

Being called a senshi rankled, but there was no denying it to be the truth. "Alunite." He simply said, jumping down from his perch.

It was a wonder one could balance properly with wingbows, honestly.

"I've been asked to relay some information by General King Zinkenite." He said. "If you have a minute."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 25, 2011 12:17 pm

"Another message from General-King Zinkenite?" he asked, a brow raised. He did not appear to mind - in fact, of any expression he showed delight at the recognition he was receiving as an asset to the Negaverse. Surely a promotion was in store for him if he was able to fulfill his duties properly. "What does our tiny blue-haired friend have to say?"

He rose the cigarette back to his lips as he awaited the message.

It was a good thing he wasn't allergic to cigarette smoke, or he would hate his life right now, really. "Well, we figured out some information, and he said it could be of use to you."

Who was the 'we' was unclear, but it didn't matter. "The zodiac have gotten the rest of the senshi to work in tandem with them. They are carrying supplies up in the surrounding - food, clothing... that kind of thing. Like there's... people up there that they need to keep going... And there are way less senshi in the streets that there used to be."

He waited, wondering if the man would add up to what both Zinkenite and him suspected.

"I see," he paused. In silence, he slowly rose to his feet with his cigarette and flask, and dusted himself off. He lowered the cigarette, took a swig from the flask as he stepped into a tight, close range with the long purple-haired corrupt Senshi. What the boy was trying to get at seemed obvious enough to him, but he was considering his options.

"The implication is that the missing civilians are actually Senshi, protecting their little space heaven of short-skirtted evil - and you want me to report on it?" he questioned. His identity as Tag Swagger, reporter of Channel 6 News, was no great secret to the higher ranks of the Negaverse. "There's a slight hiccup in our plans there. I don't doubt what you suggest; however, the evidence is at best circumstantial and there's no verifiable witnesses. I can't go reporting something without any evidence, the public would have a fit. I need a story to spin, I can't just make things up out of thin air and expect people to believe me. I'm a journalist, not a minister."

"Unless you have some evidence," he suggested, a half-question. He brought the cigarette to his lips once more and lowered it, exhaling the smoke into Alunite's face as he stared hard into his eyes.

"That's what we think." He said, trying to ignore the smoke. Good thing he wasn't allergic to it, but it still made his defenses raise, instinctively. "Mass dissapairances would be a perfect cover up, after all." An explanation as to why suddenly, so many were gone.

"At any rate, there's something going on."

Oh. Journalist. That was the reason, then. God damn he needed a beer - the flask only served as a reminder, really.

"If we can find their new meeting point, then we can film it." He pondered. "If they're any smart, they're not gonna use the one we'd stumbled upon again." It didn't sound like the man worked for the one of the stations that liked to spurt conspiracy theories out the wazoo, which would have made things easier.

"Then it looks like we'll have some Senshi-hunting to do, won't we?" he smirked. "We'll follow them, capture them, beat them, whatever it takes to get the information out of them. If you hear anything, report back to me, will you, and I'll get the cameras set into place."

"In the meantime, don't tell the General-King that I was relaxing in the Negaverse uniform, would you?" he pleaded. It wasn't quite a beg or even much of a question, it had a sense of demand to it. He followed with a bit of a bribe. "Besides, I'm sure you could use a break as well. Come on, join me for a little."

"Tell me a bit about yourself, and drink up while you're at it," he gently slammed the flask of scotch into Alunite's chest for him to take as he moved his way towards the ledge of the roof, staring out into the night with cigarette in hand.

"Yep... It's too bad you can only feel most of the auras from close by and that they don't... spread out the more of them there are." He frowned. "Destiny City is a lot of ground to cover, even when you teleport." Even if you could teleport with ease, really.

He still wasn't over that. God damn, teleporting was awesome.

It certainly wasn't Alunite's job to whip lieutenants into shape, but if it came with free booze, then he'd be an idiot to refuse.

He took the flash, uncapped it, then took a swig in a way that could only say one thing.

Bribe accepted.

"Well then." He shrugged. "What do you want to know about ?"

He expected the usual questions, to be honest.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 25, 2011 1:13 pm

"********, man, I don't know, haven't you ever talked to people about yourself before?" he shot back sarcastically. God knows he was one to talk about himself. For hours. "If I need to hold your hand through this conversation maybe you shouldn't be drinking. Who are you? What do you like? What do you do?" His questions were all personal-related, so he tossed one in about their private work for extra measure. "What's it like being a Senshi? Etcetera, etcetera."

"Most people don't care much of all of that." In the negaverse, anyway. It didn't matter who he was, what he liked. All that mattered what that he fought with all he had.

"But very well. Im 20, I go to DCU, im a programmer." Another drink, and the flash was held back to it's owner. Alunite was of the opposite opinion - there definitively wasn't enough alcohol in him yet. "I do freelance a fair bit - it pays damn good. Im basically just getting my degree to have a shiny paper to prove I know what to do what I've been doing since I was 16."

Pretty much.

"I wear a skirt and leggings. Being a senshi is about as fun as you think it is. Beside the magic." The magic was kinda awesome, he had to admit. "At least im not bent on world-domination."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 25, 2011 1:33 pm

"Nothing wrong with a little world domination," he grinned. Hell, it was his dream. Not in the sense of oppressing the people, he still had a good heart. Nonetheless, he craved power - and lots of it; more power than would be right for a man to have. "It is the world destruction that worries me."

He took a final drag of the cigarette before dropping it to the floor and putting it out with this shoe.

"As you know, I'm a journalist. You've probably seen my segment on Channel 6 News. Tag Swagger," he flashed his much-practiced signature smile to the boy, as if it were to jar his memory and become recognized. "I'm thirty years old, live an awesome life, and am in the Negaverse. Yadda, yadda."

He grabbed the flask back from Alunite and took a swig.

"The Negaverse isn't really the most social bunch, huh?" he asked, offering back the flask. "Bunch of sociopaths, social recluses and sexual teases. Not the type you exactly want to party with. But damn some of those Negaverse women are fine."

"Well, I haven't started firing death rays yet." He said, amused. "So I guess we're safe on that front." Unless his eternal attack counted. He still had no idea what senshi even heard and truly saw when he fired that off.

....Oh, yes, there was a flash of recognition here. Damn, whoever had corrupted him had probably earned a promotion on that one. Nice catch, all considered.

He could see the uses, as well.

He took the flask back - with the two of them having at it, it was probably gonna need a refill pretty soon, all things considered. "Hn." He said. "Kinda jailbaity for the most part, even for me. They're almost all my sister's age, so it's a little awkward. Nice legs on a bunch of them, through." Tanzanite had nice, long legs, and he'd gotten a nice view of them more than once, though not in the... most amazing circumstances.

And saying such would have probably ended in some part of his anatomy ripped off.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 25, 2011 2:13 pm

"I hear you," he nodded as he took back the flask. He had a feeling he knew which agent's legs he was talking about. He remembered a nice pair of legs from his corruption. "Tanzanite's legs? They make a bit for her arm, that's for sure. I don't think she's the flirty type though. It isn't easy finding a Negaverse agent who is down to clown without you landing up in court....or dead. I've been talking to Painite and trying to work that out, but little action so far."

He took a swig and offered it back to Alunite. "You said you have a sister?"

Alunite only offered a smirk that bordered on smart-assdness when Tanzanite's legs were brought up. He had... a particular relationship with those legs and the sights he got, though certainly no one save a masochist would willingly put themselves in some of the positions Alunite had been in.

It was a wonder he didn't have a youma heelprint permanently embedded on his chest, after all.

"Yeah you could.... say that." He pitied the poor sucker who tried to go there, honestly.

The mention of Painite made that grin vanish into a rather blank expression. Oh... Well then.

Maybe it was better that way. He took another swig before he spoke. "Good luck with that." That was surprisingly genuine, perhaps. In a way, it was liberating. If she was moving on, then he would, too.

The pain had died down by now.

Still, he was more than eager to change the subject. "Yeah. Four years younger. She... recruited me. Well, in a way.
