Bast entered the Arts District and immediately a smile came across her face. She Reverse-Summoned her shopping cart and equipment and immediately started to run joyfully through the lively streets. She stopped at the edge of a wide canal and removed her goggles to get a better look at the water as soon as her eyes adjusted to the light. The water was almost perfectly clear, and remained relatively undisturbed by the leaves that floated across its surface. In the reflection on the water, Bast saw the many trees that grew anywhere they could, the multitudes of buildings and bridges, and the occasional cloud that floated above. Her gaze was interrupted by the wake of a boat that went by, the images of the city scattered.

As soon as the boat passed, Bast jumped across the wide canal. She was happy to be back home, and she was going to get reacquainted with the city. She stopped in at The Indulgence when she was nearby and bought twenty books, a light pen, two sets of floating lanterns, and a painting of four figures--three on the left, one on the right--silhouetted against the overwhelming Gate. Feeling 500 Ryou lighter, the woman Reverse-Summoned her new goodies and started to run around the city, following paths higher and higher until she found herself near the tops of the buildings. At that point, tired from all of her excited running, she plopped down on the side of a road and stared down at the lively city, a smile still on her face.

San's senses were bombarded with new smells, sensations, and feelings as he went through this district following Bast. He stopped at a few of the same stores, buying 1 lantern, 1 light pen, and 10 books (physics, general anatomy of the human body, chemestry, art of war, book of five rings, tao te ching, World history from 2500BC to 2011 ad, Chakra for dummies, wilderness survival guide, Kenkei genkai in brief). Following the sannin to her perch, the ninja sat next to her, waiting for a moment before speaking. he had never seen Bastet like this.....

"So sensei....were exactly are we?"

"We're in the Void, of course. This is where I grew up," Bast responded. A few levels below, she espied a street performer juggling torches. After a few moments, the smell of fire wafted upward as the performer lit the torches on fire. On the other side of the canal, a well-dressed gentleman was playing a kazoo with a perfectly serious expression. "It's changed a bit."

San smiled and nodded. He knew they were in the void, but what was THIS place!

"Your home? So...is this a ninja village? I remember Mam talking about a place similar to this...."

Bast looked thoughtful for a moment, and then nodded.

"You could say that. We have all the necessary components of one, but without the heavy concentration on military affairs that pervades the cultures of the other Villages." The woman leaned back as a hawk landed next to her. The bird laid a rose on her lap and then flew back to its owner, who was down a few levels and entertaining a crowd with his animal-training. She held the rose up and nodded her head in thanks to the man, causing a wave of applause through the crowd. The woman laid the rose down next to her as soon as the fanfare ended. "This brings up so many memories. I haven't been here in years!"

San nodded. It seemed like Bast really needed this trip. It was cool to see how giddy she got for being in this place. San had never experienced a spot like this before! The Void's arts district made San figure that they could maybe get one in suna......

"Normal memories. Meeting friends, doing missions, competing in contests." Bast pulled out her flask and took a swig from the lukewarm tea inside. When she finished, she placed the flask back in its holder and went back to looking at the performers. "Those were fun times!"

San nodded, allowing his biosense to pick up on the mass commotion of performers and arts. it was good times, being an academic, that a military man could have an appreciation for the arts. He was really enjoying himself here, and was interested in Bast's story. He really enjoyed story time....

"Sounds like it. What contests did you do? Should we have something like that in Suna? And why dont we have an arts district like this in suna? It would be a whole bunch of fun...."

"Races, fishing, team sports, and so on and so on. Anima was surprisingly good at fishing, but Kybele never got close to losing the races. It was interesting when she started living on the streets, though; we ended up putting on a three-person circus act for a month so that we could save up enough money to pay to get her food. She ended up staying with Anima until she became a Jounin, at which point she managed to get an apartment of her own." Bast took another swig of tea. A few feet away, an old man cast his lure and started fishing in the canal several floors below. "If Suna had an arts district, it would get destroyed fairly frequently. Remember the Genin sparring in the Residential District? I wouldn't trust them near any unsuspecting non-Shinobi-inhabited place of importance. Damn immature brats..."

San nodded once again. She had nailed it down when it came to gennin sparring in the residential district. It was bad then, cause the ninja would have enjoyed an arts district.

As they approached the new area in the Void, Akane was caught off guard by aroma's which smelt, new, and vagrant! Akane inhaled the wonderful smells and looked around seeing plenty of wonderful sights, floating lanterns, artwork, banners... This must be the arts district. Passing a lonely man drawing a picture Akane's eye was caught by it, stepping off a bit he looked at the beautiful picture and smiled, asking the man if it was finished the man simply said 'No painting is ever done, much like how a story can always continue...' Akane smiled and pulled out some money buying the artwork along with a light pen, and Ten Books.

Catching up with San and Bast, Akane made a slight jog, everyone in the art district was so... cheerful and at peace. But Akane still had a bone to pick with this Void. Catching up with Bast and San he let out a few words in a somewhat serious voice "This place is great Bast, It's all great... But why were we greeted so rudely. I understand that we were kind of intruding or... invading as they said. But won't that come to bite us in the a**?" Akane said, it looked like Akane needed to sleep or something, cause bags were beginning to form under the eyes of the shinobi.

"Exactly, San." Bast stood up with a sigh and stretched. "Anyways, where are the others? There's still lots that I want to do before heading up to the clan household for the evening."

At this point, Akane's voice hailed from off to the left and attracted the woman's attention. She hadn't noticed him following, but figured it was because he spent some more time in the store than she did and then enjoyed the culture along the way, rather than zooming along.

"Did the Omni-Clone give you trouble?" the woman asked, ogling Akane with her naked eyes. "Or are you talking about the interrogation shenanigans?"

Quickly taken aback, the ninja spoke almsot hastly to the Sannin about the omni-clone. The monstrisity was a b***h to defeat, but Akane in the end was a bamf.

Akane was a bit surprised, Bast knew about the Omni-clone? Akane thought for a second and then looked back at the Sannin when she stared at him with naked eyes asking him about the interrogation too. "Both, but i have a few theories... The Omni Clone might have been a security system type seal... Maybe... I'm not to sure. But yes, that is what i'm referring too. The Clone and also why we were strapped to chairs with dark aura coated men watching us while cake was in front of us... I found it a bit odd...." Akane said still wondering why cake.
