It was a strange little sight that unfolded itself in front of Eternal Sailor Alunite, tonight.

To be honest, it wasn't his first time observing this one senshi. It was always the same game, the same pattern. Lure a youma to a high rooftop, bind it with her powers, push it down to it's doom. Always, like clockwork, but she'd always fled the second she seemed to sense him. A smart move, in retrospect. Some nights it was out of genuine curiosity, the others it was because he felt a compelling need to beat someone's face in.

Then one night, he'd gotten in good view of her and powered down. She still fled suddenly, but when he powered back up, the only other aura was a normal senshi.

Curious to say the least. Was she avoiding every powered aura she'd felt ? Why ? Was there potential here ?

Perhaps. If not, well, he could just dropkick her off the building and be done with it.

Chance had it that he stumbled right onto her that night, while hunting down energy. He waited, as far away as he could, then teleported in once the youma thumbed right down to it's supposed doom.

"You're an odd kind of one trick pony, you know." He said, amusement leaking out of his voice. "Oh, my apologies. We start with names first, don't we ? You can call me Alunite." Once, he'd been careful about not giving out his name, But now arrogance had slightly taken over, thanks to his jump in power. Let them track him down. Let them try to harm him or his own.

He would crush them all.

Sailor Adhafera stood on the edge of the building, grim satisfaction filling her as the youma she'd just bound puffed into dust after hitting the ground. Sure, it had taken out a streetlight on the way down, but the metal driving through its body had probably hastened its inevitable demise. An excellent twist to her strategy, if fortune favored her.

She stretched, then turned - and suddenly someone was there, someone who felt powerful... oh, she knew what other 'special' people felt like, the weird sort of buzz on the edge of her hearing that usually indicated 'time to go, stupid approaching'.

But this one hadn't given her time to run. She stared at him, bringing her arms up, remembering her self-defense training - acutely aware both of her expended power and of the fatal drop just a foot behind her. This was the closest she'd been to another powered being in six months.

"Adhafera," she said, after a long moment, still keeping up her guard. "What do you want with me, Alunite?"

She hadn't backed away, and neither had she stated the obvious. Interesting. Definitively interesting. Of course, the best acting would not make her unable to see the dark wingbows, the holes or the chaotic nature of his aura, but if he laid his cards right...

Perhaps.

"Well met then, Adhafera." He gave her a slight bow, gentleman-like. "Call it curiosity - I've noticed you were avoiding..." He paused, weighting his words. "The idiots that like to call themselves senshi, as well. It's been a while since I've run into a kindred spirit, for certain."

Adhafera edged away slightly - trying to get to one side, enough so that the drop at her back wasn't a deadly one. There were balconies on one side of this building, after all; that's how she and the youma had climbed in the first place. "Yeah, I'm avoiding them. Anything that feels like... me. You too, I guess," she said, lifting her chin. At least he didn't have ridiculous ******** bows all over everything. "I'm doing things on my own. I don't need them or their pretty little mystery princess to kick things off of buildings."

Something about him felt different than the others, though. Truth be told the other auras she'd felt had weird and different... tastes... to them. Some sharp and vivid, some dark, some clean, and a rare few were... well, crackling. Like Alunite's.

"Ah, yes. Their beloved princess." He didn't stop her from moving, did not move himself. So she avoided all the others who could have given her information, any who could have told her that he was someone to avoid, that he was someone to fend off.

He did have one ridiculous ******** bow... Two if she decided to count the asswings. Alunite couldn't blame her. It was a show of power, a badge of strength, but also a god damn hindrance that limited his movements, somewhat.

Delicious. A mind free to plant whatever seed he wished into it, perhaps.... Through she was on her guard. As she should be, honestly - she'd have been entirely too stupid not to doubt. Stupid just got tossed off the building.

"The very same princess that very once brought this world to near ruin." He said, unable to keep his voice from wavering with disgust. "She certainly would do the same once more, you do well to not aid them. Adhafera. Not many senshi have the forethought to see and handle the truth, preferring to hide their actions under a veil of righteousness..." He let that float, wondering if she would take the bait and ask him what he meant.

"I just want to protect the people of this city," Adhafera said - by now, her sidling had got her over the balconies, so she could (hopefully) jump down and get away if this guy ended up being dangerous. "I don't trust these 'senshi'. I don't trust you, either," she added, giving him a grim smile. "I'm not interested in being used - and I won't serve some pretty princess who doesn't even have the decency to show up and ask me if I'm interested. ******** that."

"A noble goal, certainly." Not so easy, then - but she was a spiny ball of distrust. That could work for him or against him, really. "Did they do something to you ? The senshi. Did they try to force you into following the princess ?"

His tone of voice alluded that they had done some sort of wrong to him. Though he did not consider it a wrong, and instead salvation, but he could present it to her as such.

If he could crack her defense, slowly wriggles himself in.... Too quick would do no good. He'd learned that the last time he had bothered to fish out for info.

He finally did move, but forward, settling at the edge of the roof where she'd slid toward. Balconies... smart.

Unlike her, he seemed to have no fear of being pushed off the great height. If she tried, well, she would figure out in short order that teleportation was an handy tool and that he definitively could do it more than once. He looked down at the lights - streetlamps, cars - they seemed to tiny and surreal from up here.

"They sent me a talking cat, a shitty pen, and a brain-scrambling snowglobe," Adhafera snorted. "Nothing so nice as an explanation, for example. So I fight the foe I'm given. The one time I saw the 'others', they thoroughly proved themselves a mannerless, leaderless rabble. Perhaps they're willing to make fools of themselves in the name of some myth... but I'm not." She folded her arms.

There was a strange sort of pride in her eyes - she was smarter than them, she was quite sure. She wasn't brainwashed. Lone wolf was better than sycophant.

"I know of talking cats and shitty pens, but I do admit getting lost at the brain-scrambling snowglobe part." Well, he figured. He didn't have a pen. Never needed it, but he'd heard that it was what senshi used to power up. The source of their power, condensed into a tiny, perhaps fragile object.

Seemed such a silly notion. He'd never needed it. He'd been flooded with raw power until he'd died from the strain, and when Metallia's hand had dragged him back from the abyss, he'd been forever changed. He needed no damn pen to unleash his true self at all, much like no member of the negaverse needed such a tool.

"Explanations are a rare thing here. They expect you to follow blindly." He snorted. He didn't follow blindly. He knew exactly what he was fighting for, and why. "I have no idea which foe you talk about... Perhaps it was before my time." He said, tone light. His words contrasted with the pressure his aura gave up, with the power that danced on his fingertips, only waiting for a few ushered words to break free.

"I was never much of a blip of their radars, thankfully."

"So. Who are you, Alunite?" Her gaze narrowed a bit. She didn't trust him, at all; who and whatever he was, he wasn't like the other senshi. His aura felt too different. She wasn't about to trust anyone who had even a bit of this supernatural power, whatever flavor it came in. "And why are you here, talking to me?"

Nobody else had tried - or, well, if they had, they hadn't been quick enough to catch her. Alunite had, and that was either intriguing or creepy. Probably both.

"I am exactly what you see, Adhafera." His tone was nice and even. Some might even have called him gentlemany.

Damn, Zink was rubbing on him.

"I am a senshi, through... Well, I am quite certain you have already figured out that I am not quite like you. I'd admit I would be a little dissapointed if you havn't figured out that much..."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 26, 2011 1:27 pm

"And you didn't get a cute little skirt? I thought they were required." It was evident from her sarcastic tone that Adhafera wasn't the biggest fan of her own 'cute little skirt'. His pretty superhero outfit was fairly decent, all things considered; she might even be a little envious... but the odd cracks and... gaps... in his skin made her a little antsy, just looking at them. There was no rational thought involved, just a one-way trip from normal to creepsville - and that bugged her. Ever since the snowglobe incident, she'd been damn wary of weird 'instinctive' reactions.

"So what else makes you different, Alunite? And how did you sneak up on me like that? I've gotten good at dodging people..." She met his gaze directly.

At those words he only stood up again - a fluid flip that had him land right back on his feet - and she could then see that, technically, yes, he was wearing a skirt. Not a miniskirt, certainly, but an overskirt all the time. It was a genuinely amused grin that crossed his expression.

This one was prickly, curious... Her body language spoke of confidence... arrogance perhaps. The truth, or something disguised as the truth, but none of the things she might have normally learned.

"I can teleport." He said, effectively answering both question. "I kept just outside your range of sensing auras, waited until you were done with the youma, then teleported here. Would have hated to see you fall when I was only curious."

"As for the rest, well..." His grin faded, and he shook his head. "I was almost like you, once." He said. "No, not really. Almost like them, perhaps, through that perticular train of thought I would prefer to avoid. But they... deemed me too superfluous, for all that I know. They did not even bother to send a cat for me. After all, when there are so many senshi... What's the loss of one ? Who cared about the lone little senshi of eclipse ? Not them, apparently."

There was no bitterness in his voice, as if he'd gotten over this a long time ago, and was simply listing facts. In reality, he was delivering her a greatly altered version of the truth.

"What's one dissident voice when there are hundreds of voices saying the same thing, Adhafera ? I was easily discarded... Easily forgotten. So I went to those who would have been my enemy... and blossomed under their care. I've been doing this for six months." He said. "How long have you been fighting your best ? How long have they not bothered to notice ? Not bothered to upgrade you for your hard work ? Not bothered to see you for who you truly were ?"

"From my impression of you, they are missing out. But that is their loss."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 26, 2011 2:39 pm

She raised an eyebrow yet again at Alunite's own skirt. Whoever designed these damn outfits was a ******** panty-shot fetishist, she was quite certain of that. "Nice, I suppose," she interjected, then fell silent as the other senshi continued to speak.

Teleporting... youma, enemies. "I know there's sides in this thing. I feel them - the way the power buzzes in my head. Different flavors. Not that anyone told me a damn thing." Over the past year she'd had voices in her head every so often, like some kind of ******** tannoy right into her brain. Another 'gift' she hadn't asked for. If she'd known how to put herself on their do-not-call list, she would have. "A damn useful thing," she amended.

But he'd been on both sides, apparently. If nothing else, his viewpoint would have none of the infernal bleating she mentally ascribed to other senshi... "What would they have me fight, in your opinion?" A faint smile played at the edges of her lips.

"I'd prefer pants, honestly." Who wouldn't ?

There was only leggings and an overskirt protecting one of the most precious parts of his anatomy, after all.

"Indeed, there are sides." He said. "Those who chose to trust the senshi, trust their princess... And those who didn't." It was some damn broad stretching of the truth, here... But there was a base truth to it, all the same.

"Me, most likely. They see me as lost, fallen... broken. I will not deny that my process has not been an easy one." It would be stupid to say such with holes all over him, after all. "My path is not... one easily taken. But I walk it all the same. I will admit to attacking senshi... When there is need to. Nearly all of them are too deluded... They won't listen to what I have to say because I refuse to be like them. I fear they will not listen to you, either, but hopefully you will learn yourself less scorn for it."

...It was odd, to feel that maybe... Maybe he wasn't wasting his time, talking to her. It would take some time, perhaps, but maybe...

Maybe there was hope for this one senshi.
