* ~:: Snake Charmer - Final ::~ * (Location - Near the Head of the Orochi's Serpent Trench, Iwatodai)
Cold, Rainy Afternoon, June 26th, 2012. Iwatodai Shrine District, near the Entrance to the underground Serpent's Trench.
The peaceful morning passes and an ominous cloud falls upon the city of Iwatodai; the demons of the Tachibana-Hakushaku Clan have arrived. Summoned forth from their headquarters in the Northwestern Edge of Kyushu by the office of the Shogun himself, they descend upon the town to uphold their antiquated oath to the leader of the country of Japan and unleash their strength upon his enemies. Fueled by their demonic power and their unwavering loyalty to the Head of their Clan, they come to settle an old score...amongst many others.
But their mission is not just any, and their foes are as dangerous as they are. Demon against demon, man against man, Cesc Fabregas and his followers await the arrival of the Head of the Taihaku Clan, Seo Tachibana-Hakushaku, for a battle that will shake the underground and the foundations upon which each of the two clans stand. Those who are caught in the crossfire will receive no mercy...those who do not fight will almost certainly die.
The snakes have been lured out of their hole...and together, they and the demons shall come and play.
Time stands still! Snakes v. Demons! Will the charmers come to regret agitating their prey?
The Battle Between Taihaku and Orochi Begins Now! Quote: Cesc Fabregas (Ichiro Kuzunoha, Orochi Founder) and Asmoedean Ballentine (Orochi Mercenary) v. Seo Tachibana-Hakushaku (Head of the Taihaku Demon Clans)

Lord Seo Taihaku of the Tachibana-Hakushaku Demon Clan It had gone well thus far, their intrusion into the city of Iwatodai from their estate on the outskirts, but there had been a sense of ominous eyes following them from the station all the way towards the Port Island, a hidden malice and an unblinking eye following them everywhere that they might have gone, weighing upon them, surrounding them, and Seo hadn't missed it. He knew that the moment they had come into the domain of the snakes that their enemies were watching them, lying in wait in the 'grass' of the sprawling city. Somewhere like eyes in the shadows and figures in the alleys flashing by just faster than they could see, that sense of being followed but never being able to turn fast enough to see your pursuer. If this was a trap, the Orochi were executing it perfectly, allowing them to wade further and further into the net before they pulled the rope and held them in. ...It would have been more ominous and unsettling if this wasn't exactly what their Lord had anticipated would happen, knowing that their 'charge' would only lead them into the spider's web, or snake's den, if you preferred consistent metaphors. It wasn't getting the element of surprise that Lord Seo had deemed key to victory, it was rather the superior strength of their team and its individual parts that he was confident would overcome their enemy's challenges and allow them to emerge victorious...or at the very least, emerge with their lives. His standing orders were, as per the usual, to fight until the battle had been decided one way or another...but never waste your life if death became your only option. His soldiers and clan heads were too precious to waste, and a dead soldier was no good to anyone. Any honor lost could be later regained by fighting the same enemy that had beaten you before and emerging victorious the next time...at least, that was his thoughts, perhaps influenced by his own weak grip on mortality. Though when push came to shove, Seo Tachibana-Hakushaku was more than willing to spend his own life if it meant the defense of the rest of his clan members; hardly the actions of your typical lord, but what good was his expiring life when weighed against those long, enduring lives his followers might yet live in service to the next leader of the Clan? Nothing...everything...
It was in the district of the Shrine that the feeling of silent dread became more ominous than ever; heavy and thick, a killing intent and malice that began to grow with each passing moment. All of the eyes, all of the thick spiritual pressures that had been tracking them suddenly spiked all around them, and the trap was revealed. Drawn deep into the territories of the snake, the were surrounded by the agents of the enemy. Pausing his leaping through the tops of the roofs in the city, hidden from the sight of the humans who went about their daily lives below, he dropped down low into an alley in one of the least-populated areas of the Greater Iwatodai sector and his clan fell in-line with them. All about them he could feel the enemies closing in, a circular formation spread out across the city and closing in, could hear their silent taunts and laughter through the corridors of the city, and his eyes could see...there were many of them, some more menacing than others, and one whose presence surpassed them all. Folding his arms as his sandal-clad feet touched against the blacktop, their swift march had come to a close. Smiling faintly, his eye closed and he waited for his allies to fall in behind him. Now was the time for him to trust in their skills, to trust in the power of their clan. ...He was ready.
"Our enemies got here sooner than I expected. They're surrounding us. ...But the target lies in wait shortly ahead of us. I will go on..." his voice was solemn but light as it ever was, his easy attitude meant to defuse the tension thick in the air and the suddenly-perilous situation that had overcome them. All at once they were here, in the moment of battle, and their enemies had the upper hand. ...They had only one option left. They could not run without conflict. ...It was time to do what they had come here to do. "Ichirou's allies are closing in...do not allow them to reach your Lord. You are proud Taihaku Clan Members, and this is an order from Lord Seo Tachibana-Hakushaku. Hold them for as long as you can, and if you are overwhelmed, escape to our estate knowing you have done all you could. I shall do the rest..."
Suddenly a deep wind blew from the front, like the breath of a devilish serpent or perhaps a demon, ominous, threatening...Seo smiled as he brushed over the pale skin of his face and turned to glance over his shoulders. "There will be a great feast back at the estate when we're done to celebrate our victory. ...I look forward to sharing a celebratory sake with each of you. Do not disappoint me and die," Seo smiled brightly but beneath it was a serious edge, "Understood?" Not a question, a statement...and a promise they would have to make him. And just like that, he turned and began towards the greatest of the ominous presences that had surrounded them, beckoning him forward, ready to greet him.
Would he do his ancestors proud and make some use of this fading life of his? ...What a thought! How uncharacteristically serious of him... Quote: The order has been given...foes close in on the Taihaku from all sides! Clan Heads must scatter to defend their lord and buy him the time necessary to meet with the stray Kuzunoha and perform the duty that the shogun has given them.
Can they endure the bite of the Orochi? Will their Lord survive his encounter with the Snake's head?
Operation Snake Charmer has begun!
[Members of the Taihaku Clan should scatter to their designated fighting ground to search for their foe!]

:: Asmodean The Requiem :: :: Guardian of The Trench :: ~~~~~ As the demons of Taihaku began to scatter to face his brothers and sister, Asmodean began making his way toward the location of the Taihaku's clan head. Master Cesc was rest now, and the tall blue haired Frenchman would not allow these filthy creatures to lay a hand on the man who saved him from damnation. The six foot nine Snake kept a scowl on his face when he saw the puny monster who called himself a Lord. The Summoner reached to his belt and released the large steel mace from its metal loop. He hefted the weapon a few times, getting himself use to the weight of his trusty weapons (Affectionately referred to as "The Delegator" among his brothers and sisters in arms). The thus far silent brute gripped his weapon firmly and smashed it into the side of a building, not missing a step as an explosion of raw power came from the mace and demolished the entire east side of the two story building. "..." Asmodean could feel his blood pumping faster. His adrenaline raising his senses to their highest state of awareness. As pathetic and tiny as this demon was, Asmodean had been warned not to take him lightly or he would surely die. One false step could mean his head. The Requiem stopped about ten yards from Seo Taihaku, staring the midget of a man down. He swung his mace again, once more creating a massive explosion against the building beside him. He was trying to psyche Seo out. Get him worried.

Lord Seo Taihaku of the Tachibana-Hakushaku Demon Clan There was a quiet sort of sadness about him for a moment as the members of his clan scattered throughout the city as directed, but also a sense of confidence and anticipation for the fights that were go come. Each of them was capable and strong in their own right, far more capable than even they knew, and if they were to fight against the Apprentices of even a devil like this one, they would be ready to fight them. Resolve filled him now, a chance for the ill Lord to once again prove that despite his frail form he was worthy of the title and the honors that had been heaped upon him as the heir to the name of the Taihaku Clan. He watched until the last of his followers had gone off onto the trail of the powers rising all about him, and then turned back towards the source of the greatest of the enemies that lay before them. What he hadn't told them, however, was that there was another impressive foe who was much closer than even the rogue Summoner...and it didn't take long for his slow walk through the streets of Iwatodai to reveal him, a hulking brute of a man with blue hair and a solemn (silent) demeanor and a weapon that would have made even the most powerful and stout of men widen their eyes in wonder. Was this the guardian who stood between him and his confrontation with the leader of the 8-Headed Snake? His red eye peered through the dark alley and saw as the mace was hefted to the left and into the wall of a building, an unnatural explosion rocking it with the sheer force and bringing debris, rubble, and all sorts of destruction down upon the impact. Another crushed a building to the other side, creating a veritable ruin for the two of them to have their little encounter upon. Strength was certainly in this man's possession.
"My, my, you are certainly strong, aren't you?" the Lord of the Demon Clan mused as he paused his approach, arms still folded carefully inside the sleeves of his clothes, eye trained on his opponent with that easy smile upon his lips. He supposed he should have been intimidated, and if the intent was to psyche him out and make him fear for his life, then it was probably the sort of tactic that would have worked...if he really placed a lot of value on his life, that was. Then again, it wasn't as though Seo Taihaku was weak, was he? He barely flinched as the dust rolled past him and down the abandoned street. Such a noisy fellow, this one. "I suppose that if you were to strike me with that mace, this feeble body of mine might shatter to pieces," his observation was wry, perhaps as much at the truth of the matter and his own illness as much as it was the hulking man's threat, and yet...there was an ease about Seo that made one wonder if he really believed what he was saying just now. A mystery his next words perhaps revealed the answer to. "...If you can strike me, that is."
His challenge was obvious...he still hadn't moved or taken his hands from his sleeves, as though he were inviting his strong enemy to attack him while he was still unguarded. Perhaps it was a ploy, or perhaps he wasn't so frail as he appeared. All questions would be answered soon. It was quite possible that this was a fight that would end when the very first blow managed to land...

:: Asmodean The Requiem :: :: Guardian of The Trench :: ~~~~~ Asmodean silently watched the Taihaku Lord taunt him, attempt to break his carefully crafted demeanor. He even spoke as if Asmodean would be unable to touch him. Truly, if the mace he held even grazed the child he would probably be turned into a pink mist. A warrior like Seo must be well versed in the art of evasion if he hadn't been killed before now. He was not like Asmodean, a hulking wall of muscle that could be compared to a living tank. He hefted his mace once more, tightening his grip on the weapon as if about to lunge for his opponent.
That's it... keep your eye on the shiny toy. Pay no attention to the magical attack about to blow you up. Asmodean focused his demonic energy on the spot Seo was standing, his eyes unblinking as a massive blast of nuclear energy slammed down on the spot. Had he the means, me might have been laughing now. The Taihaku Lord was nothing but an arrogant brat with a following. Cesc must have hyped his power up too much... because nothing about this man child was the least bit frightening... maybe he was just a fool.Quote: Freidyne: High nuclear damage to 1 foe Auto-Tarukaja: Increase Atk & Mag Power for 3 turns [1/3]

Lord Seo Taihaku of the Tachibana-Hakushaku Demon Clan It was simple misdirection, showing him the incredible power of his mace in order to distract him from the magic that he was building up to strike; Asmodean seemed to be more than just the brute that he showed on the outside, using tactics to attack the Lord of the Taihaku in such confidence. Was it simple? Certainly. Effective? Normally, quite. However, Cesc must truly have left him in the dark about his abilities if he were to think that something like misdirection, slight of hand, or such a thing would be effective against the heir to the Taihaku Clan. Nuclear energy struck with an unforgiving, radioactive head, and as it washed over the body of the Lord it seemed to flow about him on either side, hot and deadly, smashing into the blacktop on either side of him dispersing into nothing as magic was wont to do. And yet, even when the bright golden light faded and the frail-looking man had endured the entire brunt of the spell, he stood with his right hand just sliding back into his sleeves as though he were merely jostling his clothes about in casual disinterest. His expression seemed unfazed, though perhaps a hint of appreciation was somewhere upon his lips. Brute or no, he had certainly packed quite a lot of power into such a simple attack. Clever, powerful, and large, he was a rather ideal package for a warrior, wasn't he? It was noted, his strength. And yet...he he was unscathed. Had he managed to dodge somehow, or...but it looked as though he had barely moved?
"I should have died from this attack because I am so frail. I must have dodged, I couldn't have survived it," Seo smiled faintly as he looked up at his foe with that calm expression, red eye still staring right back at him as it had from the start, but there was an air about him that was beginning to grow oppressive, intimidating, an aura that belonged only to the very strong...or was that simply a bluff, an illusion, an attempt at misdirection on his own to put off his enemy from launching such a deadly attack in his direction again? "I gather that you either don't like to speak, or are unable, so allow me to give voice to your thoughts for you. 'Perhaps there is more to this fragile boy than I see...no, that can't be true. He is weak. He would break if only I could touch him. But he can't run forever. I will kill him eventually.' ...Or something to that effect, yes?" He might have been right on there, or he might have been off quite a bit, but it hardly mattered...for Seo was writing the script inside of his head as much as it was being played out in front of them. It didn't matter if his opponent didn't want to play along, he supposed...but if he did, all the better. He was better at reacting to his dance partner in the first place. "If so, allow me to allay your suspicions right now," the demon smirked, taking a few steps closer so that he could look further up at his foe, allowing him to dwarf him a bit more, "I did not dodge your attack, though I could have. And yes, I am that fast."
"I can see your limitations..." the Lord intoned with an almost evil glimmer in his eye, "...a clumsy demon like you could never lay a hand on me." Quote: Seo taunts Asmodean again!

:: Asmodean The Requiem :: :: Guardian of The Trench :: ~~~~~ Asmodean could hardly believe his eyes. This man had just... stood there. His strongest magical attack... and this man just took it like he was getting punched by a child. He hefted his mace once more, focusing all his power into the weapon, his eyes locked on Seo. Had he the ability to speak, he would have said one thing.
If you are so confident in your abilities, then let us end this with one glorious exchange.Quote: Fission Sword: Imbues a weapon with nuclear element. [1/10]

Lord Seo Taihaku of the Tachibana-Hakushaku Demon Clan His smooth appraisal of his massive foe's skills seemed to have evoked a response in the giant's eyes after all, and if his intention had been to provoke the beast-like man into a direct confrontation than his mission seemed to have been a success. Of course, it hardly made sense to think that attacking a foe like this, massive and powerful enough to fell a building with a single stroke of his mace, head-on with his size and frail form was a recipe for victory. His speed was more suited to hit and run tactics, to dodging and circling the field while he kept distance and picked away at his foe, layering him with spell after spell to wear him down until he could finish him. However, he couldn't do that. In good conscience, the Lord of the Taihaku knew that his men, his friends were out there fighting to buy him time right now, and if their lives were being spent in order to present him with an opportunity then he had no business dallying in the interim with a foe who was not the one he had been sent to meet. His low voice hummed in the back of his throat, crimson eye meeting the intense gaze of his foe and reading the challenge that seemed prevalent therein. One strike? He intended to approach with an exchange that would finish him in a singular strike. So be it. His pink lips eased into a solemn line and his hand withdrew from his sleeves with long fingers wrapped around the wooden hilt of a short wakizashi blade, a blue tint as it shimmered, reflecting light as he raised it to eye-level and peered just over the sharp edge at his enemy. He would have preferred to spare his enemy's life.
"The hallmark of the defeated is to overcome their own weakness, using adrenaline to tap into their full potential for one instant" he answered the unspoken challenge as energy washed over his body, "So be it...frail and sickly though I am, there is a gulf between your power and mine that can never be overcome, not in a thousand years. Allow me to show you..." All of a sudden the air about the small Lord shifted, eased and reactive changed into powerful and ominous, an oppressive force of sheer intensity that radiated away from him and throughout the city, a signal to all the members of his Clan that for one moment, their Lord was allowing himself to become somewhat serious. A note of respect for his opponent, perhaps, but also a recognition that there was no time to waste. One strike...that would be all it took to end this fight. Perhaps if he survived...he might learn that there was more to a fight than power, than looks. He would learn from the edge of the Chidori that power came from within.
And because there were people out there he still had to protect without fail. Quote: Luster Candy - Increase All Stats for 3 turns on all allies!

Lord Seo Taihaku of the Tachibana-Hakushaku Demon Clan His challenge had been simple and answered in a flash; his eye focused upon his enemy and his foe intimidated by what he had seen, the final clash was imminent...the larger man shot across the field with an inhuman speed and strength, his mace falling in a smooth and deadly arc towards the puny man that mocked him. The mace itself seemed so large and strong that it might have crushed him on momentum alone, without a man swinging it, but the massive arm behind it gave it a force that any person would have been terrified to endure. And yet the Lord of the Taihaku stood beneath the blow unmoving, his single blade drawn, a thin and unmoving sort of smile creasing his pale lips. It would be as promised...an instantaneous defeat, crushed beneath his mace or...what more could it be? Calm as ever he waited for the blow, his feet upon the blacktop, body unmoving...until all at once, it wasn't. In a flash he was inside the reach of the gate's guardian and his thin blade was drawn, and in less than an instant he was behind him, his short wakizashi turned with the blade behind him now...and in another flash he was far beyond the larger man now, tucking the blade safely inside of his sleeve as he folded his arms low and cast a red-eyed glance over his shoulder for but a second...until the spray of crimson from chest and back sprouted forth from either side of the larger man's body, staining azure into something thick and crimson, the hulking frame of Asmodean crashing to its knees and then the Earth as well, face-down and unmoving. Two blows had landed...one for the first and one for the second, but neither had required more than a fraction of time to land, the large man's attack barely moving to his demonic eye. And just like that, their battle was over and the winner decided.
"Ignorance is no excuse...a mere demon should not stand before a Deity and speak so haughtily. ...Oh, right, he didn't speak at all, did he?" the serious disposition of the Taihaku Clan's leader seemed shattered all at once by that revelation, his expression growing amused rather than serious as he turned his attention now forward towards an unassuming door in the midst of this urban wilderness, "I do hope Suko-chan, Mai-chan, and the others are doing well. I suppose I should proceed quickly so that the-BLARGH!" Interrupting his thinking was a sudden bout of bloody coughing that brought his pink-stained cloth to his lips again, reminding him that acting cool while he was fighting was all well and good, but that his body still wasn't quite equipped to handle such exertions on a regular basis. His body which had been so sharp and precise in its actions and reactions now felt a bit like lead as he gripped at his chest in discomfort, before moving forward to the door of what he assumed was the hideout of the snakes and reached for the handle with his free hand somewhat weakly. ...Only for it to open without touching, as if on some cue from another person entirely. Swinging loosely open, there was a creaking noise and an echo as if the whole place inside were empty...and yet it beckoned to him. He could feel the intense power of the man he had come to see spread out and beckoning for him to come and enter. Was this...an invitation? His lips set into a thin line...this was hardly desirable when he really thought about it. And yet, this was what he came here for.
'Ichirou Kuzunoha...just how far ahead were you thinking? I wonder if perhaps our Shogun isn't making a mistake after all...but then, this is our mission. In honor of our ancestors...I will see it done.'
And without a thought the young demon lord stepped forward into the breach, finding his footing steady once more, even as the door swung close and locked shut behind him. Quote: ??? - ??? [Asmodean has been defeated!]

Lord Seo Taihaku of the Tachibana-Hakushaku Demon Clan How much time had passed since the Lord of the Taihaku had entered that place? It was hard to tell; everything around that man seemed to be caught within a never-ending cycle of slow motions and fast forwarding, time dancing not at the whim of the cosmos, the steady coming and going of days and nights, but at the amusement of a man with green hair and fiendish eyes. Long were the years that had passed and many were the demons that Seo Tachibana-Hakushaku had seen, but he could never remember having seen eyes as fierce as this human's, even amongst the most devilish of fiends that he had come across. They danced with a wicked mirth, examining him, evaluating him, learning everything that there was to know about him in the breadth of an hour-long second, and yet no sooner were these eyes flashed to him than they were gone, perhaps so quickly that he questioned whether or not he was even intended to notice them. After all, a normal human or even a powerful demon wouldn't have been able to see the coming and going of that analytical gaze so swiftly...only his eyes were different, special by comparison. He could see the unseen, follow the impossibly quick, and see through the impregnable illusion...and he had seen in the man before him, the head of this vicious snake, a foe as dangerous as any that had come before him. With his piercing gaze he had seen through the lazy exhibitionist and seen an intensely patient and ambitious person, one who had weighed all of the pros and cons of their meeting within the span of an instant, and likely, he had already made up his mind about what they were meant to discuss within this hideout...and also, about whether or not he intended to kill the red-eyed demon lord or do something else entirely. Whatever that might be, Seo intended to discover...or rather, he hoped. And for the long, tense moments that their confrontation would last he spent every last bit of it trying to steer things towards that conclusion rather than something tending towards the violent. Even the Lord of the Taihaku, suitable an opponent as he might have been, did not fancy having a go at an enemy such as the Greatest of the Kuzunoha.
...
Time flew, and to any observer passing by the district on the outside of the nondescript door and the nondescript building it was set within it would appear as though nothing out of the ordinary were taking place...though even a human who passed by close enough might feel a cold sense of dread, deep, sharp power permeating the air with a collectively ill intent. And however long it might take was inconsequential compared to the result of that which occurred therein.
...
By the time that the building's door opened from the inside, it was impossible for him to tell just how much time had passed until he set his eyes upon the sky and saw the changing position of the sun. Whereas it had been the afternoon before it was already beginning to creep towards the evening, early day giving way towards the second half as it would eventually give way to night. It had not been as long or as short as he might have expected, things all-told...his crimson eye looked skyward as he laid his sight upon the blue and the white clouds once more. For a moment there, he wasn't certain that he would ever lay eyes upon the outside world again...the sun, the wind, the morose, gray, tall buildings on any side of him that obscured a perfectly lovely view of the horizon. And yet here he was stepping out into that alley again, the wind upon his face was cool and soft despite the wet and the rain that had been ongoing for most of the day now. His thin lips curled into a smile, his crimson eye closing gently with the caress of the breeze. If one would have seen him they might have thought how out of place he looked standing there, a traditional Japanese-looking man standing in the midst of all this dreary, modern-urban architecture...a classic spire, tiny as he was, beneath the present day doldrums. Still, he was content...to step outside after such an ordeal was a gift that he was fortunate to receive. He would have to summon a messenger to visit the Shogun at once, and with a click of his tongue a black bird swooped down from the sky and landed before him, bowing its head in reverence as he reached into the sleeve of his haori and pulled out a scroll, holding it out for the thing to clutch within its beak. "Make haste to the capital. We have no time to spare in delivering this message," he smiled as the bird took the scroll, nodding once, before taking off into the sky and flying towards the distance, "Tell him...that our mission was a complete success."
He watched with a sigh as the bird made its way, disappearing into the distant reaches of the sky towards Tokyo; his serene feeling permeating him, he knew that now he could call back his allies and head home. They could celebrate their victory now...with sake, and food, and dancing...perhaps he could even see Mai-chan and Suko-chan wearing a pretty dress and ask them again if they would give him heirs? How nice a thought that would be...his smile was distant as he raised a finger to the sky, two fingers actually, and as he did there was a sudden crackle in the dark skies overhead, a deep, booming sound of thunder followed by a single snap of lightning which bolted down from the heavens upon his location, split in half on either side of him by a sightless blow. This was the signal to withdraw, the battles of his allies having come to their end and the completion of their mission come. Somehow, against the odds, they had emerged successfully through this most-dangerous mission and now...they were ready to go home.
Silently, Seo replaced his short blade within his sleeve...and felt his chest contracting violently. One cough erupted, his other hand instinctively lifting a bloodied cloth to his lips. 'How unfortunate,' the devil thought as he clutched his chest a bit, wishing that his health would just hold out a bit longer...why did he have to start hacking now? 'Though I suppose it's better now than before...and though I've always been resolved, somehow I...' His thin body wavered and plunked frailly against the stone wall of the building next to him, cough still echoing as he tried to gain his strength. And yet...it wouldn't come. Was this...? 'Somehow I wish...' he thought as he held the cloth to his lips, moist red clinging to it now...
'Somehow I wish...that I had been able to make an heir with Mai-chan...or Suko-chan, or...'
...Ever the incorrigible one... Quote: The signal has been given...Taihaku Forces may now withdraw!
Seo's life force is drastically falling! And yet, the mission was somehow a success!

Fina"Diarahan!" Like a bolt of white light, power shot through the air and slammed into Seo; an immensely powerful healing spell designed to get people into shape even if they were on the very verge of death... which was actually pretty much Seo's normal state, unfortunately enough, and it had never been able to heal what truly ailed him. Any lesser injuries, though, such as wounds from battle... well, those would be taken care of. Fina landed in front of Seo a moment later and, with a huge smile on her face, she held up what looked like a crocodile-skin bag. "Lord Seo, I got you a memento for your victory!" the girl said, almost literally radiating happiness. "It's a handbag you can put all of your bloody cloths in and stuff so they aren't lying all over the place anymore! And it's made from a real hand!" An overly concerned individual might have been worried about the girl hurting herself from smiling too widely. Ah, the morbid delights of demons, eh?

Rorek Viral Taihaku, Head of the Viral Clan The blonde haired, beast man demon moved soon after Fina, appearing with a small hint of smoke on his clothes. With the contest between him and the human ending a stalemate, they had sat down to enjoy....what were these things called again? Cigarettes? It had a weird, but strangely addicting taste. Though, the smoke probably wouldn't be fitting for around Seo, so he quickly tossed it to the ground, and stomped it out. It was certainly an experience fighting the exceptional Human, one he would eventually like to experience again. "Lord Seo....are you okay?" he called, wondering who else would return. Did everyone make it? He slightly worried, but...... "How did the Mission go?"

Lord Seo Taihaku of the Tachibana-Hakushaku Demon Clan Oh, this life was unpredictable...who would have thought that with all of his plans for death that he would end up in an alley way like this when the lights started to go dim, their first mission for a shogun in a hundred and fifty years just completed successfully, alone while all of his followers were out escaping from their own victories. He would have liked to be together with his clan members when he passed away...he didn't like the thought of dying and being left in this cold alleyway until his body grew stiff and all of his good looks were reduced to rotting fodder for the street vendors and crows. Oh, no, that wasn't how he wanted to die at all! "If I am to die here in this alley..." he coughed as he muttered to no one in particular, leaning weakly against the wall of one of the gray, monolithic buildings to his side, "...I should like to be buried back in Kyushu, under a garden of flowers in my honor. And...Mai-chan could tend to them daily. ...Just...don't let Fina eat them. ...Not all of them, at least..." He coughed again, twice, deep throaty sounds that were a little wetter than was comfortable; his rag was certainly taking in a fair amount of red this time, though as he replaced it inside of his clothes he wondered if he might be able to endure this just a bit longer. Certainly this weather was terrible for his health, amongst other things, but if his friends and family were here soon, perhaps he could...hold on? Or maybe he was just being dramatic, lingering on the edge of death now no more than he usually was when he had a deep coughing fit at home...maybe the cold was just getting to him. Yes, that must have been it, he told himself...and as he tried hard to catch his breath it was with that bit of optimism (foolish or not) in his mind that his allies indeed began to trickle in, a beaming young girl landing with a prize in her hands that she was clearly quite proud of obtaining. Fina...had she won her fight? How nice... "You...don't say?" his voice stuttered for a moment as he caught his breath, though she might not notice the trouble he was having with the wide smile he forced upon his pink-tinted lips, "You've done quite well, Fina. I'm proud of you...but why don't you hold onto that until we get home? You can..." more coughs "show it off to the others on the way." Was he at all bothered by the fact that it came from a 'real' hand? Not really...Fina had odd tastes, certainly, but they were all demons here. And if it had come from a victim who had fallen against her, well then, good for her.
Viral was the next to arrive, which was a good thing. He hadn't been here to listen to his instructions on what to do should he die here in the alley! He could repeat it to him now, except...it might be better to start home now and explain it to him on the way. More importantly, he had asked him about the mission. They were likely all wondering, his friends and allies, but he was pleased to know that he had nothing negative to report...other than his health, that was. "Me? Come, Viral, don't I look all right to-BLARGH!" another heavy round of coughing shook him, an amusing but dark interruption to his assurance that he was alright...and yet no sooner had the cloth come out and wiped away the blood, the coughing done after a fitful round, he smiled widely, though his body was struggling a bit more to stay upright...after all, the mission had been..., "Our mission was a success...I've already sent Kurama-Tengu to deliver the news to the Shogun." And just like that the results were out there. Victory...success for the Taihaku in their most important mission. Of course, this would only be the first of many, but against a threat most dire they have proven their worth. They had reason to be pleased, reason to be proud...tonight, when they made it home, there would be cause for a celebration.
'BLARGH! Hackhack! Hrk!'
...Provided their lord didn't die on the way, that is.

Wounded and frantic to make it to her Lord Seo for the sake of healing him, knowing that he might've caused some damage to himself for being on the battlefield. She knows for sure that she would most likely see a few of her Clan members there since they had to meet up immediately. And just in time she finally made it to the area, the Nekomata giving out a loud mewl after seeing her Lord going through a coughing fit, the metallic smell reaching the feline's nostrils that had her fur stand on end. The large feline made it by his side, soon standing on her hind legs to have her front paws reach for Seo's arm to have him settle down. "Lord Seo we have to take you back home!" the cat cried out, circling him once in a sort of panic before she placed her paws on his arm again and already starting her magic to heal whatever wounds he had. But that wasn't going to be enough. "You've aggravated your illness already!" the sheer worry was getting to the Nekomata, already mewling loudly with the two tails swishing back and forth in a sort of hectic motion. Was she panicking? One would probably take it that way, a sort of instinct of desperation kicking in thanks to her own current condition. After all, if one would look closely they would see that deep red liquid on her black fur. The nekomata continued to mewl and meow constantly, obviously growing upset with her master's status and the fact that he was the one who insisted that he should fight alongside them. Be and an honor or not, his health was what was most important thing to the feline demon. Maybe she was overreacting? Say that to her and one would only get a fit of denial and hisses that her reactions are reasonable. ♫❀But can I ask you one last question? Have we met somewhere before? ♪

Xian Furude Taihaku "Please Lord Seo, you mustn't overexert yourself" she called out as she rounded the corner standing among the group. She had one opponent flee on her and Nora could easily finish off the other one after she had left it was his battle originally and she had all the confidence that he would have been about to handle himself without her help. "I see a good chunk of us have been successful and are here." She said with a smile as she looked around again. The others would probably be here in a short while so no need to get worried. At least she was out of her big heavy wolf form, sometimes being that large was a little annoying and even though she was quick on her feet one way or another, getting around tighter spaces was a big pain.
