In the community fields between the connecting pastures, Samba wandered. He had wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of his home pasture, the overflow of ponies rather overwhelming sometimes. It was nice to get out and meet others, make new friends, mingle with the peeps.
He found a nice spot beneath the stars, a warm autumn breeze rushing past him as be plopped down on his little pony butt. He heaved a sigh, wishing he had some tunes or something.

Elvie swayed near the gate that led to her owner's sister farm. They had a shared pasture, something she'd heard Kasumi mention in passing before. She'd never gone because she hadn't a reason; her family lived in different pastures and what did she care about the ponies that lived in this one?
But on this day, this very boring day, she took a chance, nudged the gate open with the end of her muzzle, and walked on through.

Samba turned when he heard the gate creak open, the heavy wood pushing against the autumn leaves rustling a song across the rolling green. There was a shadow of a pony looming near the gate. Was it one of his own? He thought they were all in the house, snug in their beds or engaged in nightly activities.
He pushed up from the dirt and slowly began inching toward the shadow.
