Oblivion Texts Get Bound Into One Epic Tome

If you’ve played through Oblivion, you know just how many books are strewn across the land. Which means that the writers over at Bethesda put a lot of time into writing each and every one of them. Have you ever wondered what it would look like if you took every single one of those texts, printed them out, and put them into one book? Reddit user notadoctoreither wondered that very thing, and did what any good DIY’er would do in his shoes. He printed out every page and bound them himself.

We’re not talking about standard printer paper with a cardboard binding. No, he went all-out with some high-quality paper, and leather binding. The total cost of the project was roughly $130, and roughly a month’s worth of work. Half of that time was spent getting the text formatted for printing. He’s saved you this time by offering up the formatted text, along with the fonts used. You can download them here.

Don’t bother emailing him and asking to buy one for yourself. He has no intention of making more, though he may do something similar when Skyrim comes out. If you’d like to learn how to do this yourself, you can check out this tutorial, which he cited as his reference for the project. I have to say I WANT ONE! But dang that's going to be ALOT of paper and ALOT of ink.

Even if they released it over multiple volumes grouping certain subjects together in a coherent way.
Factual, Fiction, Journals + Notes, ect.
I'd buy for sure, once I had the funds."

It wasn't Beth who made this it was a fan, and he's already said he wasn't going to do another one for people to buy. BUT if Beth ever did decided to release their games books like this in some official position then I'd be all over that. I downloaded the link this morning, but I haven't had a chance to look at what's inside it. Goes to do that now......HOLY AZURA! it's 968 page's long. He inculdes all the font types you need, the images from the various books, the fancy letters.

"I honestly haven't read to many of the books in game, though I did collect them with intention to do so later. Having them in real life would give me even more reason to actually dive into the texts.

So I'm not the only one who likes to collect all the in-game books, but in my case I actually get around to reading them all. Even if I don't while actually playing, I can just head over to the Imperial Library and read them there. The 36 Lesson's of Vivec where mind blowing..I was all like O.o what is going on here?

"Playing games and reading don't mix well, I don't particularly like stopping to read something if I'm into it. I was intending to do that, but then it's like "Where to start?", which is why the books would be a big motivator.

Speaking of books, have you read The Infernal City? Plan to pick up Lord of Souls once its released Sept 27th? I've read TIC and it was good, not the best novel out there, but still worth a read if your a TES fan.
