This is a short i felt like I needed to do, so enjoy, it's just coming out off the fly.
Jackson walked across the old red wooden bridge that was on the way to his house. He had to figure this out, he wouldn't accept anything else. This was a question of his existence that wouldn't go away any time soon. His mind had been pondering this for the last three hours, while at work, walking, and getting a tomato thrown at him. It felt as though his heart and head were in a relentless battle as his shoes hit the dirt road on the other side of the bridge.
"Jack!"
He knew that silky, mind-melting voice. It was Cindy's, the cause of all this consternation. He turned around and watched her run up to him from the beginning of the bridge. When she reached him, she bent over to catch her breath. He still couldn't believe she still was here, after all that, here she was.
"What's wrong with you? You haven't talked to me for three days?"
"Don't you hate me?" asked Jackson
Cindy looked at him with a totally blown away awe smeared all across her face. It actually looked genuine. How couldn't she hate him? He's hurt so many people. Ruined so many lives and destroyed so many dreams for people that he shouldn't be allowed any dreams of his own.
"What are you talking about Jackie?"asked Cindy turning her head a little.
"Don't you hate me? For all the things I've done? All those lies I told you about in the cafe. All the fights I've been in, and all the people I've hurt when I was younger..."
"Why do those matter?"
Now Jackson's mouth dropped. How COULDN'T those matter? He's almost killed a man before. and she just asks why does it matter?
"Jackie, I love you. Not for what you've done but for the man that's an upstanding figure for a lot of people in front of me. The past is the past and you can't change it, but it makes up your character. I wouldn't want you any other way Jackie."
This wasn't possible! This couldn't be! A girl, let alone Cindy, said she loved him! And now was leaning in for a kiss! Should he turn away. Stay friends? Look down? Look down sounds...
And it happened.
The first kiss of his life and the first moment of his life that he felt those evil chains fall off his back. He mattered to someone. That someone was the girl of his dreams, and she loved him! The tears started streaming down his face and pouring out all the joy he couldn't handle at the moment with them. He would never forget this moment. Never forget the leaves blowing around with their autumn colors and the rivers calming waves and splashing on the shore. He'd never forget this smell in Cindy's hair of hard work and eight hours of wear on her perfume.
"Should we get going to my house?"
He never thought he'd hear those words,"Yeah let's go," He said wiping his face
"Let's get going."
I've just been having a weak moment and decided to let the guild see a bit. Give me some critique!
