[EVENT] Frog-catching - Cub/Juve Division - OVER

Rules:
1.) Periodically, over the next week or so, I will post a frog/roll a 20-sided die, at which point participants may make one post (per SoA), also rolling a 20-sided die, to attempt to catch it. The first to match my number, or to come closest without going over, catches the frog. The SoA with the most frogs at the end of the week wins.
2.) There is no set time between frogs - if you miss one, sorry!
3.) There is no post order.

Only those who have signed up to participate may do so.
(I'll make this nicer/do an IC intro when I have time.)

CONSIDER THIS POST THE FIRST FROG
(I will doodle one up tomorrow. Both divisions won't always get frogs at the same time, but we need to start off somehow. xP)

Frogs. Coatl had quite the interest in the little green critters. And with the game the Queen was holding, Coatl was happier than a warthog in the mud! Getting rewarded to catch frogs and get all muddy? Coatl was TOTALLY IN. (Shame Hiiro couldn't be here to watch, she thought absently as she started looking around.) A flash of color caught her attention, followed by a croak, and Coatl growled happily and dove in the direction of the croak. FROGGIE!

Elvis had been excited for the queen's games for ages it seemed. He hadn't been sure he would be allowed to participate, but when the day finally dawned he had apparently been sufficiently well-behaved to be allowed to take part. It had been a struggle to be so good for so long, but now it would pay off, he was certain. He would catch not just the most frogs, but all the frogs and everyone would be hugely impressed by him.

The fact that he would be covered in mud after this didn't bother him. After all, it wasn't his job to keep his coat clean. That's what he had a mother for. She would be the one who would have to deal with all the mud on his fur, and he was just positive she wouldn't mind as long as he won the competition. The possibility that he might not win didn't even occur to the blue-eyed cub. He knew he was the best of the best. Much better than the squeamish brown boy and faster than that big white girl.

With an excited sound, Ubati dove into the mud and water. Like any swamp cub, he just.. ADORED it! As the water went everywhere, and bits of mud clung to his fur, he looked around, eyes dancing. After wading back and forth a moment, a movement caught his eye. The juvenile clambered up on a log, hunkering down. As the frog got closer, moving in a combination of hops and swimming, the young lion's tongue stuck out a bit. Almost... Almost... Claws scraping the bark, he launched off the log, dropping down toward the frog. "C'mere, froggy!"

Coatl made an unhappy noise as the frog got away from EVERYONE. The juvenile snorted, sitting down in the mud huffily...before she heard another frog, and turned to try catching that one. "Gotcha this time!" She hoped.  

[Andranis]

Picking himself up out of the mud, Ubati shook it off, before looking around. A chirping... There! He jumped up, diving at it once again. As the frog moved, the young lion slipped and slid around in the mud and water. Paws sliding out of under him, his chin landed in some mud, and the frog gave a croak at him. "Oooooh, now you're TAUNTING me, you.. You... TAUNTER!" He scrambled up, jumping at the frog again.

Watching Riddi catch a frog, Ubati began to feel frustrated. Would he ever catch a frog? But he had to keep his chin up! This was only the third frog to chase! He got up, deciding to slowly stalk through the mud and water instead. Each step was carefully calculated, before he finally pounced, paws stretched out.

Elvis had overshot his first jump and then been forced to scramble for footing while someone else caught the frog. That was frustrating, but not nearly as frustrating as it had been for him not to even see the second frog because he was too busy trying to get back on his feet. There was so much mud on his coat at this point that he was hardly recognizable as the largely white cub who had begun the competition.

The third frog seized his attention completely and he leaped after it enthusiastically, twisting in the air in an attempt to anticipate its evasive maneuvers, but it didn't make any and he once more sailed over it, allowing other cubs the opportunity to slide under him and snatch the frog from his paws. So much for his plan to catch all the frogs.

Kati frowned as she bounded into the fray. She was late to the competition because her some of her many brothers and sisters had wanted to tag along, and the bigger the group of siblings got, the longer it took them to ever get anywhere. But she was here now, and that was the important thing.

From listening to people watching the game, she'd only missed two frogs. One hadn't been caught by anyone and the other had been caught by a cub, but that was it. Kati was confident she could make up for lost time. After all, she'd been eagerly waiting for the games for weeks, anticipating having fun in the mud and hopefully winning. She wanted to be admired for her skill and ability, or at least have everyone watch her run around.

Kati surveyed the positions of her competitors for a moment, then slunk into the mud and water, low down with her belly dragging through the muck, stalking between reeds and plants. She peeked out from behind a clump of swamp grass and zeroed in on her target. With a small shake of her rump, she...POUNCED.
