I picked up Gears of War 3 Tuesday night after work, but didn't start playing the game until Wednesday after work any who I finished the game this morning around 2am. So all in all it took me about 10 hours to play though the entire campaign on Normal. It was like that for Halo Reach as well, maybe a bit longer, but still in the 10-12 hour time frame. In both case's I just couldn't stop playing. Sure I'd take breaks to eat and take a leak, but other than that I just played straight though. It's been like that for nearly all games I get, I just have this driving passion to play until I beat the game, then go back a number of times and play again and again to either collect stuff I missed or just replay it a different way or on a harder difficultly level.

So like the title of my thread asks, how long does it normally take you to beat a new game that you bought? Do you have the same tendency as me? Maybe your a bit more hardcore and take no breaks? Just leave your two cents here.

"Depending on the length of the game, whether I'm fighting with my siblings over shots on it, ect. I generally finish a game in about 10 hours to 24.

I took quite a bit longer with Deus ex: Human Revolution though, I decided to take my time with it and explore as much as I could. That and my siblings were so into the game as well, it was difficult to pull anyone away from it.

Actually, my siblings played through GoW3 in a few hours, though they had to take breaks so my younger brother could attend his lessons.

And now we're all taking turns to play Dead Island together(since my sister picked up a GoW Xbox 360.)

It only took a few hours (probably like 4/5 hours 6 tops) for my buddy and l to beat Halo Reach on legendary. Catherine only about 6-8 hours but ME 1 and 2 took a lot longer since l did like every side quest... AMR is on the same page with Catherine though, even though it was fun and Dead Island is taking longer because my Brother and l aren't skipping a single quest.

I like to play the hardest difficulties on games so it normally takes me a week or two. With that said I only play a chapter a night so depending on how long the game is varies. But if I'm really into a game and have the time to do it I can beat it in two days at most. I have a tendency to take awhile on rpg's since I try to get everything. Gears took me a week, would have been shorter time but my brother wanted to find all the specials so that took some time.

I can usually beat games like Gears or a Halo in one sitting. Nine, maybe ten hours. In fact most shooters last about that long. Most other games take me longer. I know I've said it before and I'll say it again, I played Morrowind for about five years and I didn't actually beat the main quest until a little while before Oblivion came out. I think the shortest game I've ever played took me about five and a half hours. That was Black, a really disappointing shooter.

Actually I could technically count Way of the Samurai as the shortest game I've ever beaten because you can just walk away from the valley at any point. Gods I miss that game. I got the third one but I still miss the classic. I went into Gamestop one day and there it was. One of the shortest and by far best games I have ever played.
