After her last run in with the flame demon, Edel wasn't too sure she wanted to meet Danny again lest her face get bashed in like the wall in the club room. She wasn't too sure what she had been doing the past few weeks either, slinking around corridors and looking out for any flames in sight.
Seriously
Edel straightened herself up and thinned her lips. This needs to stop she told herself, you're being ridiculous.
The ghoul continued down the hallway with a bit of a cautious tread, eyes still shifting from side to side. All clear so far. This is great!
The cautious tread became a casual walk which became a brisk walk that got brisker until it became a slow jog. It wasn't before long till a certain ice demon was hurtling through the hallway.
A few thoughts were racing through her head, something along the lines of : What am I doing?, You're a horrible, laughable coward and I think you're about to crash into someone
And crash into someone she did.

A handful of silver pumpkin seeds lay scattered on the ground, after the collision. Shoving Edel out of the way, Vieve practically clambered over her, scanning the ground nearby for her precious, precious seeds.
One, two.. three.... four five... six-- that left one missing, still.
She'd deal with the offender later, and probably make her /pay/- it was lucky Vieve hadn't been carrying anything too valuable (or even breakable) around. Prince, the royal treat, who'd been padding around at Vieve's feet, made himself useful (for once), and came running back to her with the last seed in his paws.
"Good boy," she smiled, patting him, then stood up to face a girl she'd never seen before. Dressed in some terribly old-fashioned (frumpy!) and awfully cumbersome-looking (no wonder she'd tripped or something, and fallen onto Vieve) robe..gown.. thing, she looked somewhat.. pitiful, almost drowning in said dress. It looked far too big for her, to begin with, and Vieve was slightly surprised it wasn't moth-eaten. At least it might've looked edgier and more fashionable, if it were..
Without bothering to offer her a hand up, Vieve simply stood and glared angrily at Edel, brushing the dust off her own clothes..
"You're lucky I'm not injured," the salamander snarled. "Get some sense and don't run down the hallways without looking, or, y'know, ditch the curtain you're wearing- you probably tripped over it."

Still in a daze after the collision, Edel just lay there as Vieve climbed over her and shoved her around. Whatever the ghoul was looking for, it seemed like she had found it because the yelling-at Edel knew was coming has started. The frost demon placed a hand on her forehead and slid it to the side to rub her temple. Good Jack.
In any case, the first course of action would be to apologise for her stupidity, ask if the other party was hurt, and apologise again. Edel sat up slowly while listening to Vieve's angry reproach.
"You're lucky I'm not injured" Edel nodded her head. Thankfully
"Get some sense and don't run down the hallways without looking” Yes ma'am
“..or, y'know, ditch the curtain you're wearing- you probably tripped over it." That bit seemed to jolt Edel out of her daze and she sat there, cross-legged, and stared at the other ghoul who had been lecturing her. Well, that did make sense, this wasn't the first time Edel had tripped or fallen in the academy. Her eyes flitted from her dress to Vieve and back and her dress. Cocking her head to face Vieve, Edel observed what the other ghoul was wearing. It was quite lovely indeed, though Edel was sure her mother wouldn't appreciate her wearing short skirts like those. Edel was forgetting something.
“I am so sorry, really, really sorry” Edel blurted in a fluster, stumbling a little as she got up. “Are you hurt?” She looked at Vieve earnestly.
“Well, uhm,” she continued awkwardly, straightening out her dress and staring at it before looking up again. “D-Did you lose anything?”

"You're lucky I'm not," Vieve replied, stuffing the seeds back into her pocket. The other girl had picked herself up, and the fire elemental found herself first looking upwards (... being short wasn't always bad, okay?) and then taking a step back.
Cold... ughhh. She couldn't stand that. Clearly the other girl was some kind of.. ice thing- a demon, it seemed?
"Lose anything? It's funny you even had to ask- that should be obvious enough. Because of your clumsiness, I lost a precious few minutes of my time." Considering how Edel was dressed, she looked like a heiress from some rich old family, and that instantly set Vieve's brain working.
"Haven't you heard the saying, 'time is money'?" She looked up at Edel with a grin on her face.
"So... how will you pay me back?"

Edel wasn't so conscious of the fact that Vee had taken a step back to uhm, see her better, nor did she deduce that Vee was a fire elemental of sorts given how the air became cooler when the ghoul had distanced herself.
She was however, aware that she had bumped into a rather fiesty one.
Now of course Edel had come across the term “time is money”, though she was pretty sure it wasn't meant to be taken....so .....literally. Not that she was trying to avoid compensating Vieve for her carelessness, no, but the frost demon had certainly been caught off guard with Vieve's very forward request. There was an inkling of her that thought: This ghoul....she's .... not taking advantage of me is she? but Edel was feeling much more apologetic than indigence at that point. Plus, this was her fault.
The frost demon wasn't sure what Vieve could have possibly wanted as compensation as she stared at the very smug looking ghoul in front of her. Lunch, nothing could go wrong with lunch could it?
“Well,” she began sheepishly, “perhaps I could buy you some lunch?” Edel's mind flitted to the school's cafeteria – decent as the food there was, it hardly seemed appropriate. Or at least, Edel had a feeling that the ghoul would be expecting much more than that. Oh gosh what should I do?
“- Is there any place in particular that you have in mind?”

Vieve had expected the other girl to perhaps hand over all her seeds, but things like that only happened in fantasies, didn't they? Either way, 'lunch' wasn't a bad alternative, though she hoped Edel wouldn't suggest someplace.. cold. And mouldy. Or something.
Grossssss.
Luckily for her, the ice demon left it up to her to decide, which brought a smile to Vieve's face. She was starting to like the girl, after all.. didn't seem too smart, but that was the point, wasn't it? Lunch, paid for by someone else, at the place of her choice... victory would never taste sweeter than this.
"There's nothing in particular I fancy, but we could look around the mall- they've got pretty good food around."
Honestly, there was no way Vieve could decide on just one place; she'd scrutinised all the menus and picked out things she wanted to try from each restaurant, but she'd never had the money to actually eat there. Then again, she'd also made a list of dishes she wanted to try, sorted by price in descending order..... perhaps she'd start from the top, and slowly work her way down.
Yes. Lunch sounded very good. Vieve beamed at Edel, a sort of cheshire-catty, creepy grin...

From the way Vieve was smiling at her, Edel knew she had probably done something really right, and something really wrong. She didn't really want to know about the latter. It bothered her though.
Edel returned the smile awkwardly. And sweetly. Of course.
The Maul. Edel had never been there. She had meant to pay it a visit sometime, except she didn't have anyone to go with.... till now.
“Edel,” she stretched out her hand to the other ghoul. “Really sorry about this again, pleased to meet you?”

Pleased to meet you.... why yes, yes indeed. Though Vieve was sure Edel would regret this eventually, she'd do her best to make this a pleasant run...
Pleasant, at least, for herself. The sense of satisfaction that she'd managed to pull this off brought a smile to her face; perhaps the first genuine smile she'd shown Edel. It seemed like the year was getting off to a good enough start- at least, nothing she couldn't use to her advantage had happened yet.
Though, nothing too interesting had happened, either.. perhaps this meeting would be the start of something.
Taking the other girl's hand, she shook it. "Vieve. Nice to meet you." Just then, Prince tugged at her boots, and she looked down at him. He was pointing one paw down the hallway, reminding her that she still had class to go to. Baaaawww, the ickle cutie. Clearly pets from Lepus Angelique were of a higher quality; well, they did cost that much for a reason, she supposed..
"I've got to go now- can't be late for class. You're free on Wednesday, yes? Wednesday it is, then. I'll meet you at the front gate. 1pm. Don't be late."
Without waiting for the other girl to answer, Vieve knelt down and picked up her pet, then walked quickly down the hallway- never run, remember? Smirking to herself, her thoughts drifted off towards food.. delicious food.
Wednesday couldn't come soon enough for the salamander.

Edel eased into a more relaxed smile as Vieve took her and shook it, which signaled to her that she had been let off the hook for now. Vieve, she didn't seem so bad at all did she?
There was a short moment of silence as both ghouls watched the royal treat minipet tug at its owner, beckoning her to get to her classes. He was a rather endearing fellow, yes. Very decorated too.
The hypocrisy.
The frost demon barely managed to catch the barrage of words that came out of Vieve before the fire elemental picked uh her pet treat and strutted off to her next class quickly. Websday huh? Edel would have some re-scheduling to do.
Edel watched quietly as the other ghoul disappeared down the hallway. What Vieve had said earlier still hung over her head though. Ditch the curtain Edel looked down at her dress and kicked it out slightly, watching as the layers of ruffle settled down again.
...
A wardrobe overhaul was in order.
