So I recently picked up my issue of Game Informer from July and noticed it mentioned the release of a new silent hill game for the upcoming Playstation VITA (which i fully intend to get). Unfortunately I do not know quite as much about this title as I would like to. There is a video below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66wn8gniIM8Now, I do feel confident that with limited resources and scare rooms this game could very well be a good thrill ride. It also mentions being able to play multiplayer, which I would have to look down on as I feel it would take away from the scare factor, but I dont have to because you can STILL play the game alone. The story concept is actually pretty neat, but with creating your own character, I don't think it could ever be completely canon (although most monsters and lore will be) considering it mentions monsters and lore from over a thousand years. And for all who were too lazy to watch the video for some reason, PYRAMID HEAD it appears will be returning. The best part about the VITA is, when Im at home, I can play this game on my big screen TV through my PS3 console, and then when i leave, I can keep playing from the same spot on my VITA. Looks very promising alongside Downpour, can't wait!

I never knew it that you could play it on your PS3 I have to get it now and I have to agree on the multiplayer factor but other than that it seems like fun. Feels like the franchise is finally returning from the past few years it has been absent since Homecoming.

Yep, I always felt that Shattered Memories put a blemish on the once flawless series, but all of these forthcoming releases look like things will pave over anew!

I am still not really feeling this game. It seems like it would not really work. The biggest complaint (other than the plot diversion) about the first movie, is all the people. SH has always worked on the fear of being alone in a hostile environment, so making it a super fun multiplayer adventure seems like a really bad move to me.

Well the developers of this game straight up said this was not meant to be like a normal Silent Hill game. They even have said it was a spin-pff and not part of the main series. Therefore I can accept it since it is purposely meant to be just a fun multiplayer or overhead adventure game.

I agree with Byakuya, and take it from me, I recently played Dead Nation (a not scary game at all) on coop with a friend. Anytime my friend or I would die, the other would be left to finish the mission alone... and that was very intense. Sure you might be braver together with a friend, but if he died... all of a sudden you're alone and with no idea of whats to come.

How, IDK, but he supposedly is. confused

I'll have to analyze it closely to make sure there's no flaws confused I mean, I would like to think any developer would be the effort into researching how the series should be, but that doesnt mean that they will. And honestly I would hate to find out that some screw up of theirs caused a spiral in the series. None the less, im still hopeful for its release, and this news may just add to my interest.

Considering Homecoming was dubbed canon by them and we KNOW this is not possibly true-- I honestly just don't trust them anymore.

I do not see why Homecoming could not be canon. I've played through several times, and it appears to make sense to me. (true it doesn't offer much to the overall story, BUT it doesn't hurt it either)
