He didn’t even realize he left the forest until he almost stepped right into a lake. He wasn’t paying too much attention to his surroundings. He eyed the water a bit. He wasn’t one to go into the water since he feared it would ruin his good looks. Even though he was a kelpi he didn’t swim or go into any kind of water. Why should he? There wasn’t much point to get all wet and stinky when he didn’t have to.
“Sometimes I wish I was a normal kelpie.”
He said lightly to his reflection in the water before using his tail to swat the water making it ripple a bit. He didn’t have a problem with himself, just he wasn’t like everyone else so it was harder for him to have others show interest in either being friends with him or a possible love interest. He looked around very slowly before turning away from the lake entirely. Maybe there was something else he could do that would be fun? Maybe there was some adventure out there that he didn’t find yet?
He needed something that could keep him going at the moment. He turned back to the lake and let out a long sigh feeling like making an attempt at something different today.
He walked slowly back to the edge of the water eyeing it a little.
“Not the hair…not the hair.”
His conscious was irritating sometimes and so were his own thoughts. He stepped slowly into the water feeling how cold it was and before he knew what he was doing, he had the water up to his shoulders. He wasn’t really freaking out yet, but he was near that point.
“THE HAIR!”
His mind screamed out at him before he panicked a bit and slowly began backing out of the water. He didn’t know how he was going to get over any of this. It was so hard for him.

April Showers snoozed softly, bubbles escaping his nostrils and floating to the surface as he napped in the shallows. Tired after playing exciting games of tag with the fish, the tiny seathi was enjoying the sunlight streaming in, content just to snooze - until tremors in the water made his fins twitch, delicate membranes rippling. He blinked awake almost immediately - when you were so tiny, predators were always a worry. Darting into the middle of the seaweed forest, April poked the very tip of his nose out of the vegetation to see what was going on. His eyes widened to biblical proportions as he saw a lan-dweller. And a BIG one! His little face formed itself into an 'O' of suprise and glee as he watched the big strange fishy-four-legged-one.
He darted a little closer, then further away again as the other said something. He couldn't hear it though, distorted as it was from under the water, so he decided to risk poking his head out.
"....normal kelpie."
Is that what he was? A Kelpie? What was that? Swimming closer again, April was startled when he started to walk into the lake, submerging and watching him - Hey look! He had fins! Maybe he could come in! His face practically lit up, delicate fins swooshing through the water like a hummingbird as he weaved in little circles.
As he got up to his shoulders, April decided to go say hello, poking his tiny head out the water and smiling - however at that moment the other backed off, causing a ripple of water that buoyed April up on a wave, making him giggle loudly.
"Again! Again!"

The dark stallion looked at the little seathi sticking its head out of the water. He didn't know there was anything that tiny living out there in the water. He knew about usidia's, but they lived on land not in the water like this little guy was. Finding a new breed definitely wasn't something on his list of things to do today at all, but it was a little exciting to him actually. He didn't want to admit that, but it was fascinating to find something new like this.
"Wait little..fish...thing.."
He honestly didn't know what to call it. He knew it was a cross between a horse and a fish. He knew it had hooves, but it also had a tail for swimming as well.
"Sorry...I don't know what to call you and I never saw someone that looked like you before...what are you?"
He asked as he saw the water ripple a bit causing him to flick his tail in the water sending a small wave in the direction of the seathi crossbreed.
"I wish I could swim like you little guy...sadly the water scares me and my breed is suppose to know how to swim."
He frowned and looked away from the little creature. His legs backing up in the soft mud under him to make sure he had a good secure footing.

April answered his question amicably, jetting himself out of the water and turning a tiny somersault (He'd been practising that for ages; it was pretty cool to finally show it off), before speaking.
"I'm a Sea-Nixie! Wait...Or am I a Nix-Seathi?" He frowned momentarily.
"My Pops was a Seathi, and my Ma was a Nixie. Uh. My mom was like you but mini. Yeah! With four legs and fins instead of just a tail-fin."
April rode the little wave happily, a grin stretched right over his tiny face. It dropped off as soon as the other guy said he was afraid of the water.
Swimming solemnly up to the bank where the other was, he flopped out of the water a little way, straining until he could touch his nose to the huge soquili's fetlock, and nuzzling it, looking up at him.
"I'm sorry you're afraid. That must be horrible." His face was threatening tears; this was so SAD! I mean, it was sad enough that most land soquili couldn't go in the water, but one that could was stopped by his fears? That was even sadder! Dx

The stallion looked to the water dweller a little bit before letting out a small laugh. For some reason this little guy made all his worries go to the far back of his mind. He didn't really care about any of his problems at the moment since he might be able to make a friend right now.
"Oh really? Well this is my first time meeting someone of your breed. I love that I'm meeting someone like you. Someone new and someone that is definitely not someone that is ordinary. I don't mean that as an insult either."
He told the little one lightly as he flicked his tail behind himself. He didn't know if he was ready to face his fears of the water just yet. It was a scary thing for him and
"It's not really horrible. I mean my image and looks don't get messed up...I don't need to swim. It's not a need, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to learn or face my fear. Isn't there something that your scared of? I'm sure there is something..."
He asked him as he flicked his mane a little bit before tilting his head to the side.

"Why would it be an insult?"
Indeed, April had been grinning rather smugly at the compliments, as he flopped back through the mud into the water. After submerging himself again to shake the mud from his skin and dampen it so he could breathe better (he didn't understand WHY, that was far past his ken, but it worked all the same, so.), he popped his head up again with a hum of contentment, focusing his (not so great) land vision on the glowy pretty blob that was his new friend.
"If everybody the same it would be boring....I mean, what if-"
April cut off mid sentence as something occured to him.
"I don't know your name. And I can't keep calling you GIANT LAND FEESH-" As he said that, he'd dramatically flailed his hooves, obviously trying to make the giant laugh, "-forever, can I? I'm April Showers, but you can shorten that if you want."
