Samson Colt had gotten stuck after school to clean up the class room. The kids in the 6th grade class were starting to work on science projects and Sam volunteered to help pick-up the ripped newspaper. He didn’t have anywhere else to be. Normally, on the school day, the kid was rush out so he could meet Ainsley and make sure his little friend got home safely. But for the last few days, the blonde girl hadn’t been at home. Sam was starting to wonder if maybe her parents or her sister had taken her away on an impromptu vacation.

Without Ainsley around though, Sam took his time leaving school. As he exited the side door out onto the school yard and playground, Sam saw something very strange. Teetering on the see-saw was large painted Russian doll. It just bobbed up and down, up and down. Stranger still, it giggled in a girlish voice as it did so. It was a youma!

Sam darted around the corner of the building and transformed into Super Sailor Chibi Ixion. Then the boy came back out to confront the youma. Youma were never a good sign, and it was best to deal with the thing before it got into too much trouble.

“Hey, painted face thing! Don’t you know playgrounds are for kids?” That was all Ixion could think to say, he had no idea what the proper term for Russian dolls were.

The youma stopped and looked back at him, turning the top half of it’s body around. Then suddenly, the thing popped itself open, twice. And it revealed to have smaller identical copied of itself inside. Now there were three giggling doll youmas, all of which stared at the boy with energy-hungry eyes.

The youma was just about to attack the boy when something hit it in the head. It pivoted on non-existent feet (how it managed to do so, nobody would ever know) to see where the rind had come from. It’s face magically changed from looking like a innocent doll to red-eyed scary possessed doll. The doll giggled even louder as it’s smallest piece zoomed out at Lenka in retailiation for hitting the larger doll. The larger doll stayed where it was however, just bit messier.

Ixion on the other hand, was flabbergasted to see a brand-new chibi senshi. In particular he was surprised to see that this red-haired girl had a real attack, not just magic that could buff or heal like most of the other girl-chibis he knew. This one was a little more like him. “Nice!”

Then he wasted no time in summoning up his own power, “Ixion Coal Rush!” He aimed for the smallest doll that was taking a dive towards the new senshi. The lump of coal hit the thing square on the back, knocking over. “Get it while it’s down!”

With Lenka’s kick, the smallest part of the youma disappeared into dust. Now the youma was worried and angry at loosing part of it’s essence! The set was in complete! Frantically remaing pieces of the youma doll danced either way back towards each other and the doll pieces popped themselves open.

Seeing an opportunity, Ixion seized the day. “Ixion Ember Blitz!” Two glowing and hot pieces of coal formed in his hands. One after the other, he tossed the burning lumps at the opening dolls. His aim was good. Both pieces of coal landed in the open base of the largest doll. They landed inside before the medium sized doll could get snuggly and safe. The larger doll piece shut itself, with the smaller part inside, tight.

“Can you do that again?” Ixion asked. He was never sure about what other senshi’s power limits were. The Russian doll started smoke, burning from the inside.

With the hit of Lenka’s rind, in combination with the hot coals inside its body, the Russian doll youma burst into a cloud of dust.

Ixion grinned wide. That came a lot easier then he had though it was going to when he originally saw the youma turn into three. He turned to the red-haired senshi and offered her a hand. “I’m Ixion, senshi of coal, and you are? Something to do with food I guess.” Whatever her sphere was, she was fairly handy at least.

This other senshi was talking a mile a minute it seemed. Ixion struggled to keep up. “Yeah we did-“ huh? Pada-what? What the heck was this girl talking about. Oh no… she wasn’t….was she? Must be! A Nerd!

Ixion laughed and shook her hand. “I’m a super senshi. A level higher then you. Big bows come with the terriority, I think. You’ll get there too, eventually. Just practice and patrol. Have you been doing this long?”

Ixion just laughed hard. *********. Oh that cat, it seemed like she was making a whole army of chibis all by her cat-self. Ixion loved her for it. “*********! She did me too. Seems like a long time ago now. Maybe half a year. “

Thinking back on it, Ixion had been doing this for a pretty long time, not totally as long as Hug-Bell, but he was one of the first chibis to awaken. He wondered how many more would come. “Just try not to get eaten until you make it to ‘master’. There's a few of us now though, so if you need help, just give me a shout.”

Ixion pulled out his senshi phone and beeped Lenka and her information in.

“Yeah, I’ll get it.” Lenka was so keen about everything just like he was when he started. “No, I don’t think anyone has been eaten. But there’s been some close calls with Negas so far, they’re the bad guys.” Ixion remembered what had happened to ug-Bell with Wolframite and his own encounter with Painite.

“Definitely do that. Though I’ve heard some of ‘em have soul and aren’t too bad. I haven’t seen any myself though, most’ll attack you if they get the chance. Just stay on your guard. You’ll be fine.” Ixion smiled at her. Then he looked around the empty playground, it was getting a bit late.

“Time to get going home. I think my mom might worry if I dally much longer. You should get going too.”

Ixion made to leave, but briefly turned around before running off. “I’ll see you around Lenka.”
