 Lilac was sitting by the tree, tail flipping over a flower here and there in absent thought. What to do? He had made two friends and had lied to them, though.... he never told the truth about his name, ever. Still, he knew it was wrong. He knew when they found out they'd leave him, and he'd be alone all over again. But.... Lilac was not a manly name! It never had been! Why couldn't he just be Ryu? Because.... he wasn't Ryu, and deep down he knew it. He didn't have the name meaning dragon, he wasn't bold and strong and daring. He wasn't that person he pretended to be.
Worse part was.... they had bought seen him stutter and blush. Great. He was acting more and more like a girl... more and more like a girl with a flowery name!

 "What to do. What to do. What to do, do, do, do, do." A very bored male was wandering about, alone. His usual crimson and white co-hort, if one could call Marie that, had told him, yet again, that if he insisted that she went out and met other foxes, she would personally make sure he would never have kids again. Now, Russ didn't know about other foxes, but he was wanting kids one day. So he decided to listen to Marie and went a different direction than where she went. Problem was, without Marie to torment, he was undeniably bored.
It wasn't like he knew many other foxes either. He was quite new to the area and hadn't had a chance to go out and see who was cool to hang out around. A grey and blue ear twitched. Scratch that. There was Ryu. He was cool. A small smile lit Russ's face as he thought about the violet male. Ryu was just the most adorable thing on four legs that wasn't a kit. And so easy to make blush too!
Speaking of the other male...Russ spied a purple shape beneath a tree. "Why hello there good looking!"

Eh? A voice startled Lilac, head whipping around, eyes widened in shock. It took him a few seconds to realize who it was, ears flicking. "Russ?" He asked, the startled male's body language relaxing. It was Russ! Attempting to seem bigger the purple male puffed up a bit, raising his head.
"What are you doing here?" He asked. Aha! Redemption for his stuttering before! Yes, now all he had to do was not stutter and act tough.... yes. Yes yes yes. That'd work. He'd show everyone, he was a tough man. Big and tough. And....purple.

Russ grinned. "I was trying to keep myself in one piece, but it looks like I missed the sign saying I was walking into the mighty Ryu's land." He put on a pitiful look. "You're not going to hurt me for trespassing are you?" Ears fell back and his tail drooped. "I'll do anything if you don't harm me."
Oh dieties this was so much fun. Russ honestly hadn't meant to surprise Ryu. He had thought that the other had heard him approach. Joking would hopefully make amends, though from the little Russ met with Ryu, Ryu didn't seem to be the type to stay angry. Course, Russ hadn't spent that much time with him, and most of it was flirting with him and silliness.

Wha? Why was he acting so submissive? Wait, this was because Lilac was manly! Yes! Manly man! No wait... was that really what he wanted? Well, yes, manly, but having Russ look at him like he was something he need to ask forgiveness from? Well.... no. "W-Wha? I.... I didn't mean it as like you are welcomed... really!" Pause... "R-Really."
Lilac shifted his weight from paw to paw, ears flicking once more. "I won't hurt you." His voice became smaller, ears back briefly. With a little wag of his tail Lilac shook himself, cracked his shoulders, and looked up at him. "Not like I can't hurt you! I just don't want to." Yes, that was suspicious at all.

Russ burst out laughing and tapped Ryu playfully in the shoulder. "Dude! Get a sense of humor! Seriously, even if you had signs up I'd have ignored them." Signs were stupid really. Russ went wherever he wanted, whenever he wanted. Did whatever he wanted too. For Russ, signs were just like if someone said 'head's up'. When one shouted that, foxes always looked around first. For Russ, signs meant 'go ahead and ignore me'.
He tapped Ryu in the shoulder again, a little harder. "Really now? I thank you for sparing me from immense pain." With another grin and chuckle, Russ sat down. "So what are you doing out here all by your lonesome?"

"I do have humor." He pouted back, biting his bottom lip. Flipping his hair from his eyes, his tail flicking side to side slightly. At the question Lilac glanced to the side, ears going back. "I was watching bunnies." He admitted, looking up at him. "But not to kill." He paused briefly, again.
"Well... I mean... I was going to eat them, then you came." Such lies, looking up at Russ he grumbled, deciding to make up for that. "I lied... I was just looking at them because they are...nice looking."

Ryu looked so adorable pouting that it took all Russ had not to lean into him and tell him it was alright. And how would Ryu take that hm? If Russ did so would he lose a friend? Sometimes other males weren't too comfortable when a male comforted them. Of course, Ryu hadn't minded the flirting, at least, Russ didn't think he did. Ryu was still here talking to him after all.
Russ tilted his head slightly as Ryu started rambling about bunnies. Russ's broww furrowed. "Why lie about what you were watching the bunnies for?" What part of watching bunnies did Ryu think Russ wouldn't like?

His ears went back briefly. "Because it's not manly..." He commented, then looked to the side. "Also because I..." His voice lowered. "Don't eat meat." He looked up at Russ, waiting for his reaction, waiting for him to stare at him. Yea, he had heard of foxes that didn't eat meat, but they were all girls.
"It's not like I hate the taste! As a kit I never really saw meat since I was born in winter, I got used to berries and such. Then when it got warm it never occurred to me to try meat."

"Not...manly?" A concerned look crossed Russ's face. "Who have you been hanging out that made you think something like that wasn't manly hm? Cause that's a manly thing right there." Russ nodded. "Sure lots of foxes eat meat, but its something we do. What you did, admiting you don't eat it, is very manly. Besides, staying away from meat, even if you haven't had it before, takes a lot of strength and that's a manly thing."
A grin crossed Russ's face. "Of course, if you want to try some meat we could go hunting." Which, if Ryu had a thing about being manly, he'd like probably. Maybe. Sorta perhaps? Now that Russ thought about it, some females hunted too so it might not be as manly...

((OOOO. They could hunt, Lilac eat meat, and get sick since vegs get sick if they eat a lot of meat and don't adapt to it.))
He looked up at Russ, shock in his eyes. "Really?" He asked softly, smiling. He was manly? He wagged his tail, looking rather silly at the moment as he grinned. Then the other mentioned hunting, pausing.
"Well," He had never hunted before, but... didn't that mean he had to use strength? That was manly, indeed! Then again.... what if he sucked at it? He looked at Russ, head tilting. "Can you...teach me?"

Russ stood up. "Totally manly. So much so that I'm sure you won't need me to teach you everything hm?" Russ grinned. "Now, since this is your property," he winked at Ryu, "which direction will have the most game?" Russ frowned. "Unless you want to try fishing first?" What kind of meat to start Ryu with would be the best question. Something small of course, until he got the hang of it.

((Yesss. I am a veg, so I know how bad it feels. *shudders* I by accident ate steak by grabbing a friends sandwich and nomming to prove a point. Nnnn. It hurt.))
Oh? His property? Lilac glanced about, remembering that a little to the east he had seen a little group of deer relaxing nearby, and to the west a den of rabbits lay. He looked over at Russ, tail wagging quickly. "East is deer, west is rabbits. Choose."
Which would be easier to catch? No, wait, Russ had said it himself, Lilac was manly. He could catch any type of prey!

Russ shook his head. "Oh no. It's your lesson. You chose on which creature I teach you to go after first." Rabbits would be the better of the two, since it was the first lesson. Deer, depending on which one they went after, could have antlers and could very well hurt them if they weren't careful.
Ryu, though, seemed to want to be very manly, so if he picked deer, then Russ would teach him about hunting deer. And then teach him how to survive in case one attacked them.

Hmm. Lilac took his time to think, tail wrapping around himself before finally clicking his tongue and nodding. "Deer." Deer were bigger and required more physical strength. This could be the perfect way to get...."manlier". The purple male looked up at Russ, tail wiggling back and forth slightly, just a little.
"If you don't mind." He added, one ear flicking. He didn't want to drag Russ around, even if the male didn't seem to mind. He was sure Lilac's flip-flop personality already was tiring him if anything.
