He had messages. To be honest, he hadn't expected there to be any, though he truly should have known better, so to see them was actually a pleasant surprise. And to find that they were from his protege was even better, as she was very... shy when it came to calling him. For reasons that were unknown to him, really. And someone else had also called to leave him messages who he wasn't... quite sure he knew. It definitely was not Carry and didn't sound like Amrita. Most curious, oh yes indeed. But it didn't change the fact that Amrita had called, so it was only natural to call her back and her know that he had returned to the school. It had been several long months for him and he had been wanting nothing more than to return back to the school and be surrounded with the others rather than dealing with the headache that was his family life.

When he got her answering machine, he set up a meeting at one of his favorite cafes, wanting to catch up with her and see how she had been doing. It been scheduled for the next day so he could unpack, relax a bit and work on schooling his brain to not broadcast his higher than usual stress levels. Last thing he wanted was to make anyone worry about him or ask him about certain things. Least not yet. And so he pushed those thoughts away as he relaxed at his seat at the cafe, dressed somewhat casual (for him) and waiting. He knew Amrita would show or let him know otherwise if she couldn't. That was jsut the kind of girl she was.

It wasn't that Amrita was late, it was that she had gotten lost. Late and lost were two very distinct things! In the span of a few hours she had gained nearly two feet in height, and that left her a little disoriented when it came to finding things, as the world looked remarkably different when you were tiny. At her first detour she had gotten panicked, which never bode well for normal people, let alone the poor ghoul who had clear issues with nerves; it lead to a second detour, a third, and finally she managed to flag someone down for directions.

That was when she learned the cafe was across the street.

The ghoul groaned, smacking an oddly tinged hand against her face, and then hurried across as carefully as she could, doing her best to not stumble or trip entirely; she hadn't quite gotten used to the weights on her chest. It took her a moment to open the door, and after that it didn't take her long to spot Livi as he was the most vividly green thing she had ever seen in her entire life. She didn't think about her change in appearance until now, staring directly at him and wondering how tall he would be now that she was taller too...and had to dredge up the courage to take the few awkward steps towards him.

"U-uhm...Hi." She greeted the boil without introducing herself, of course not sounding like the little rotten ghoul he knew her to be. She was taller, had a figure, longer hair, a full face, and that wasn't including the whole Patchwork thing; but the colours were still the same, minus the tinges some of her patches possessed, and she still had the same mannerisms. First and foremost, playing with her hair over her shoulder, and avoiding eye contact when necessary. Which was apparently often.

Time wasn't something that bothered him. Though he couldn't ignore classes or anything, he was very good at acting like he had all the time in the universe. Better that than having to be stressed out and racing from place to place. Maybe he was truly a lazy creature deep down. That or he just knew how to manage his time. Something that was never to be known to outsiders. So the fact that she had gotten a bit late didn't exactly enter his mind at the moment. If he looked at his phone he would have started worrying, but someone was coming up to him before he could set down his drink. He didn't see who it was just yet but he heard the footsteps so he was very confused when he heard a voice that he didn't know, but it did sound like the one he had heard on some messages.

A brow jacked up a bit as his eyes lifted to greet his guest and she could tell he was a bit baffled by the person before him. Who was this? He knew he had been gone for awhile and that there were probably a lot more new students and such, but surely he would recall giving someone his number, since it was rare he gave it out to begin with. But the way she moved and once he processed the way she had spoken, a hopeful recognition appeared as he got to his feet, bowing a bit to her as he always did. "Amrita?" This was most definitely a surprise, to say the least!

And her change was quite amazing! She was taller and... his eyes gave her a look over. It was still conservative as he remembered her to be but she was very cute. Yes, she had grown very well indeed! Tucking some hair behind an ear, he went and moved closer to her, a happy smile on his face. "You look amazing, my dear! How are you?" A part of him felt bad, as he had disappeared without warning anyone at all, but he had really no choice in the matter. "Took me a second or two to be sure it was you. I was wondering if I had given out my number and forgotten or something." But his voice was warm and gently teasing, as always, but she knew he'd never be rude to her.

"Yes?" Was the automatic response when he said her name. She stared at him blankly for a moment or two as if expecting something, and when it obviously didn't happen she reflected and realized what had gone wrong. "...Er. Hi." She said instead, sheepish as always; but that could have also been the realization that he was looking her over which, despite being in such a well made body, still made her uncomfortable. When he closed the distance between them she stood her ground and stared up at him, her backwards hands still playing with her hair.

"Th-Thank you! Christof and Malodore made it for me, and Riley helped." She blushed in the odd way Undeads did, making eye contact for an astonishing few seconds before looking down, her toes fidgeting behind her. "Ah, um, Yes, I'm really sorry, I didn't..." It was good to know she didn't respond any differently to teasing, just getting more and more flustered. "I...I didn't think I could do this, s-so I didn't tell anyone..." One stitched hand gestured towards herself, before resuming playing with her new, curlier locks. "I'm doing really good, though! Are you okay? You...you kind of left suddenly. I was..." The patchwork bit down on the inside of her cheek, brushing the tip of her hair against her lips. "ah, really worried."

As if her plethora of messages wouldn't have told him that.

If he had had any doubts about if this was truly her or not, Amrita acted true to form and he was positive it was the same girl. Poor thing was still so shy and always fell right into his teasing. Ah, his protege never changed, something he found remarkably refreshing. His smile shifted a bit wider when she simply said hello again. "Hello, my dear." It wasn't hard for him to tell she was feeling uncomfortable with him studying her new look and he did feel bad, as it truly wasn't gentlemenly to do such brazen things, but he was taking it all in. This would definitely change quite a bit. Now she wouldn't fit into the outfit he had found back home that reminded him on her. That wasn't good but this wasn't that huge of an oversight. But she also didn't balk when he got closer to her, something that made him feel, dare he say, proud of her. She was still playing with her hair, but she didn't back away and it made him notice her new hairstyle. Now he wasn't the top guy to ask when it came to hair styles, though he probably should given how he was, but he could say for a certainity that this suited her quite well indeed.

"No need for thanks when it's the truth, you know that. Please, sit. Shall I call for a menu?" Seeing her blush made him chuckle softly. She was always so nervous about things but it was part of her charm. She may not have realized it but she was learning from him. She was the first Project he had taken where he wasn't more.. hmm, should he say forceful? Dominant with? But maybe the gentle approach wasn't so bad after all. A soft look of understanding showed on his face as she explained and he nodded to show it. "Don't be sorry, Amrita. I can understand how you'd need time to adjust to these changes yourself, yes? But I am glad you came out to meet me." Though he didn't completely understand it himself and he felt incredibly guilty when she said she was worried, but that fact plus the fact she had come out to meet him made him... hmm... he wasn't quite sure how to classify it but it was a good feeling. Yes, yes it was. And though he knew how she was with a lot of close contact, he couldn't help giving her a soft hug and stroked the top of her head gently. "I'm sorry if I worried you, my dear. I'm all right... just had something that called me away. And I didn't have enough time to leave a message beforehand. Thank you, though, for your messages and for caring."

He had listened to all of them and he knew he'd have to do something to make this up to her. "Thankfully I'm back so hopefully that won't happen again." A sardonic smirk creased his lips for a moment before he banished it. It better not happen again.

"Sure!" The Vetala nodded at the offer of a menu, on her way to sidestep to take a seat when he started to talk again. All in all the motion was left unfinished and she stayed where she was, glancing up at him on occasion. The soft look he was giving her was strange to her, but she found that as foreign as it was, she liked it. It was recognition of sorts, and as much as she came off as being very modest it was something she - no, really any ghoul, as she was starting to understand - liked.

What would likely surprise him though, was that she did not shy away from the hug. In fact she returned it readily, wrapping her arms around him in return and unable to resist burying her face against his collar as he pet her head. Oh headpats, how she missed you! It had been a long while since anyone hugged her properly, and even longer still since she had someone pat her head; it was good to note that she still loved it, even in this body. The only thing she wasn't sure she liked was of course the additions in her anatomy. They got in the way, even in hugs! Damn flesh pillows!

"It's okay, you're here now, so..." She trailed off with a shrug, letting him out of the hug. "Y-you're welcome." She added belatedly, standing for another awkward moment before finally taking a seat. "So, um, what happened? ...I-If you don't mind my asking of course...!" Livi had only just come back! No point in offending him!

At her agreement, he lifted a hand and called out for someone to bring a couple menus, if it wouldn't trouble them. It did occur to him that his talking stopped her from sitting and he mentally bapped himself. Ah he needed to be careful when he asked certain things. Ugh, he felt so out of things at the moment, which was an odd thing for him. So odd.

But he was very, very surprised when she didn't pull away from the hug. In fact she hugged him back and cuddled with him, in a sense! That.. was definitely a first! With how she buried her fact, she missed the surprise in his eyes before he chuckled gently. Like he'd forget how much the girl loved her headpets. He had no issues continuing to give them to her while the hug last, naturally. The fact she was taller than he was used and had 'additions' wasn't lost on him and though it was a bit.. strange, it wasn't awkward. It was more like it was noticed and then it was out of mind again.

Nodding as she pulled out and then sat down, he returned to his own as a waitress came by and dropped off two menus for them to look over and ponder. Thanking her with a soft grin and a nod, he was about to open it when Amrita asked about what happened, something he somewhat expected but... A somewhat displeased look appeared for a bit before he smirked a bit. "Honestly, I'm... still not quite sure what happened or.. what's going on. I'm still trying to make sense of it." He didn't mind her asking, not really, but he didn't know if he was ready to even try to lay out what happened when it still a: wasn't over and b: still didn't make sense to him. "It's hard to explain..." Livi was a bit frustrated that he couldn't figure out how to say it and it bothered him. "It's not that I mind, since it's you, my dear, it's just..." Ugh, why couldn't he talk right about this?! "My family is being stupid." He finally muttered darkly, "And causing trouble for others in my conclave... I can't really say more than that right now, I'm sorry. Least not.. until I can figure it out myself, heh." His head hung a bit because he felt incredibly stupid.

But she knew him well (hopefully) and something like this irritated him deep down. And the fact he showed this side to her did show he trusted her, even more than he realized. But he then remembered something and a smile replaced his smirk. "Though, I did find an outfit for you... though now, I don't think it'd quite fit the same."
