User Image His excursion into the desert had been far more difficult than he had anticipated and had left him having to learn and adapt fast. Kawena had been raised in a lushly green environment and had been cocky enough to think that just the will to breeze through the wholly different environment with relative ease was enough to get him through. Oh, how he had been wrong. Taking to sleeping during the hottest portions of the day, drinking water whenever he could, let it be said that he considered himself damn lucky to find green places again. He had begun to fear that he would be lost and die of thirst amidst the shifting golden dunes. He made a mental note to take what he had learned and better prepare himself for the desert if he ever went back to visit. Perhaps if he were better prepared for the harshness of the desert, he would be able to enjoy it more. The leopard had to say one thing of his trip though, the desert could boast some seriously beautiful sunrises.

No, this was more familiar to him, not this place in particular, but the shade and marginal cool of the grassland jungle. Padding along a relatively worn path in the grass through the loosely collected trees, Kawena's purple gaze shifted along the tops of the grass, no real destination in mind, save to perhaps find some water. It had been several days since he returned from the desert, but he still found himself seeking out watering holes, rivers, or streams whenever he could. Sometimes he wasn't even thirsty, he just found himself seeking out the water to be certain it was there, or to see if there was traffic to the water source. For the most part a social creature, the long solitary hours in the desert was something he could have done without. Perhaps company would be in order the next time he went off on a long explore.

Her sisters didnt need her anymore. She felt so alone without them with her all the time. Not that she minded being alone, but this was a loneliness that she couldnt really understand. She wanted so much for everything to be back the way it was. However she knew that with both sisters having found love and hopeful futures... She was still stuck where she was. She kicked at a rock with a glare, and sighed.
"How was I supposed to know they'd go and move on one day? I thought we were in it forever." She sighed once more. She would have tried harder to find someone to love..maybe.. if she had known this would happen one day. She wasnt even sure if love was what she wanted, but she knew she was lonely. That much was clear.

Huyana'Seelie was more of a solitary creature by nature. Choosing to be on her own most times anyway. She had just liked being alone because she chose to be, not because her sisters had seemingly desertd her. She cursed the thought as soon as she thought of it. They hadnt deserted her. Padme' was older and she had raised them both. She came around still, just not as often, as Kinyu had taken most of her time. Her sister with the hurt leg, had gone to be cared for by another. It was a relieving, yet sobering thought that she didnt have to care for her anymore. She looked at her paws, and sat in the grasses with a frown. What should she do now?

Kawena had long since lost touch with his littermate, a elder brother, and had no clue if he had any additional siblings or half-siblings running around from his parents, or if they had gone their separate ways to pursue other loves. Did he consider himself lonely? No, not really. He had little issue with approaching strangers or being approached in kind for conversing or hunting or whatever the situation may call for. Besides that, when he was truly alone and there was no one nearby, he would often retreat into his head and do some introspecting or some simple admiring of the world around him, that or study. He was no scholar, but he did have a fondness for learning the tastes and properties of various herbs and flowers. It was a hobby of sorts, just something to occupy his time when he wasn't hunting or feeling like being a social butterfly.

As he walked, he came across a large stone in the grass, too short to seen above the grass, but it could offer a slight vantage point for him. Leaping up onto its relatively flat top, the male scanned across the tops of the grass, noting gaps, clearings, paths, and larger open expanses. A close by sound caused a curious ear to flick. The skittering of a disturbed rock? Ah, and a voice. He couldn't quite make out the words, but the tone was mist decidedly feminine. For a moment, he debating just sitting down on his perch and calling out to whomever the speaker was, but decided that he'd put forth the effort to find the origin himself. Hopping down in an easy arc, Kawena turned in the direction that he thought the stone and voice came from. "Hello out there," He called in hopefully a friendly enough tone to not seem threatening, with the hope that speaking out would bring a reaction or, even better, an answer from the mystery woman in the grass.

She wished she didn't feel so alone without her sisters. She supposed she was more dependent on their love than she had thought. Though the idea of sharing a life with anyone else made her cringe. She supposed she had best get used to it. She didn't plan on remedying the loneliness anytime in the future.
So she went to move, but her ears caught the sound of someone approaching and she quickly stared int he direction the sound was coming from. Her chocolate eyes scanned the horizon, and she saw nothing. But the orange leopard would have been hidden regardless as the golden grasses around them helped him blend in. Of course once he hit the greener areas, it was likely he wouldnt have blended so much.

While she was scanning around her, she heard a voice and she perked. Who was that? She smiled thinking maybe it was Kinyu coming to find her and take her to Padme. That would have been ideal and the idea made her squeal inside.

"Hello!" She called back, her voice happy and excited.

Oh, there was an answer, and a cheerful, excited sounding one at that. Had he met this female before? A brief moment of panic passed through him. Was this some one time den partner that he had forgotten?! Surely he didn't have any kids running around so that wasn't it. He didn't have many, he never really felt compelled to 'hit it and quit it' as some might say, but he was a male after all. He hadn't known of any sisters, but then again he didn't keep in contact with his folks enough to know if they had any subsequent litters after he and his brother. If they did, they would have probably told the new litter about their older wayward brothers, at the very least to prevent potential inbreeding if they grew up, went out on their own, and happened to come across them in their travels, not knowing them for siblings! Then again, he was panicking, so it could just as easily be a case of mistaken identity.

Kawena followed the happy greeting, slowing as he drew close. "Hello?" He said again, pushing through the tall grass. There sat a brightly smiling female leopardess. Her coat wasn't familiar to him in the slightest and the color of it marked her as someone outside of his family. Had they met somewhere in passing? He was usually quite good at recalling names! "Do I know you, miss?" He asked with a polite and curious smile.

When she saw the orange leopard male she gulped. That certainly was not Kinyu. She recalled that Kinyu was a bright, eye catching pink. This male, while brightly colored compared to herself, was certainly not pink. She blushed, and her white cheeks turned a dark crimson and she cleared her throat, standing as she looked clearly embarrassed.

"I'm sorry. I thought that you were going to be someone else." She had hoped it would be someone else.. But she wasn't against meeting someone new she figured. She rather liked company, at least, for a very short amount of time. And this male seemed friendly enough.

"Im so sorry.. I didn't mean to confuse you, which Im sure I did." She chuckled. Though honestly, it was her that had been really confused.

Oop, she definitely didn't recognize him. Not with that gulp of hers. Kawena noticed her vivid blush as she spoke, rising to her feet in her embarrassment. He flashed a friendly smile and shook his head. "It's quite alright. I thought that we might have met and I had forgotten. So, I apologize for, uh, getting your hopes up? No. For confusing you in my own right. Yeah. That works. Sorry." He gave a somewhat sheepish chuckle and glanced around.

"Were you expecting someone? If you are waiting for someone, I can leave you be, or wait with you should you wish for company whilst you wait." He paused and gave himself a thoughtful hum. "Unless you're just sort of hanging around and not waiting for anyone. If that's the case, then I might just hang around myself." He shook his head again. "Where are my manners? My name is Kawena'ula, or just Kawena, if you prefer. What brings you to these parts, or where you here to begin with and I'm the interloper?"

My oh my did he ever talk alot. But she didn't mind. Having two sisters had given her alot of patience for talking, and gave her the ability to not mind it. She smiled at his smile, and chuckled again. He was really friendly, it seemed, and she was not against talking to a friendly guy!

"I am Huyana'Seelie. But you can call me Huyana.. Or Hu. Depending on whichever you like more." She nodded, and sat down to curl her tail over her paws as she looked at him. He was handsome, with his spots and purple eyes. She hadnt been born with spots. None of her family had. But she still had a fascination for them.

"Im not waiting for anyone at all actually. I was just out thinking really. But I wouldnt mind company for the moment." She said, accepting his company. She would be mean if she turned away such a friendly guy.

"Its a pleasure to meet you Kawena."

Oop. Was he talking too much? He was wanting to come off as social, not a chattering weirdo. Although, having just met the pretty black and white leopardess, he hoped that the classification of weirdo hadn't been placed on him so soon. It hadn't been all that long since he had last met or spoken with someone. Perhaps he was just in the grip of a particularly social, if talkative mood. He cleared his softly at this realization. Way to play it cool, champ. Way to go.

He offered her a smile and nodded his head upon learning her name. "Huyana'Seelie, hm. Huyana, it's a beautiful name." Kawena took the time to take a seat himself. "The pleasure is all mine, I assure you. It'll be my honor to provide you company for the time being."

Giving a bit of a reflective hum, he continued speaking. "Thinking about what, if I may ask?"

She smiled, looking at her paws but only for a moment. She nodded, and her voice was soft when she spoke.
"My mother used to say it meant Dewdrop. Im not sure if its true, but I remember that much." She said with a chuckle. Her eyes looked back up to him and she couldnt help but smile. It was so rare to find an intelligent male. She had met one once, a lion that had been a good friend of hers. But he had moved on with his life, and odds were, he had found that girl he had been looking for. She longed for him to be happy, and if he was, she was.

"I was thinking of my family." She said with a frown, though she cleared her throat and tried to hide the frown pretty quickly. She supposed she should be happy her sisters had found love. But where did that leave her?

"My sisters have moved on, and here I am. Still in the same place Ive always been." She chuckled and ran a paw over the top of her head.

"Sorry, Im so rude to unload on you like that." She stood, and her tail flicked back and forth behind her legs.

He responded with a chuckle of his own. What a cute meaning. He flashed a smile when she looked his away after looking up from her paws. "I think it's a sweet meaning, if it is true. Mine means, the red glow of sunrise or a fire." He gave a shrug. "My mother said she believed it would suit me."

His smile faded slightly at her frown. Kawena knew from experience that sometimes the talk of family was a touchy one to folks. He didn't know what Huyana's past was like with her family. "Ah...I see."

He quieted and listened as she continued.

Kawena shook his head, giving a dismissive wave of his paw. "No, no. I'm not bothered so you don't have to apologize." His brows rose slightly as she rose to her feet. Was she going somewhere? "It's quite alright, Huyana." There was a very slight pause after the first syllable of her name, as if he was debating at leaving it at that. But he decided that simply addressing her a Hu might seem particularly familiar for having just met her. He didn't bother pondering where the sense of etiquette came around.

"Um, are you wanting to go for a walk? I don't mind walking if that's what you were planning." A somewhat lopsided grin was flashed to her, as he shifted to a crouch.

She looked one way, then the other, and with a long sigh she looked back at the male. He was sweet, and she could use the company she supposed. So with a smile, she nodded.

"Yes, do come with me. Im feeling thirsty and I know just the place where we can fix that." She said, headbutting his shoulder before moving forward. She cast one glance behind her and with a purr, she lept forward and called out.

"Last one theres a rotten egg!" And with that she was off, darting her way tot he liquid, her new friend in tow.
