Zephyra was currently rolling around in flowers, in the middle of a field. Usually she avoided such open areas, as there was very little cover. But she had been wandering around before coming upon such a discovery, and the field had looked so pristine and untouched, covered in colorful flowers just begging to be sampled and rolled in. And who was Zephyra to resist? So excited was she that an army could have come up and she would not have heard them.

Thalion being thoroughly disgusted by the young foal who would not leave him be finally detached himself from her and made his way to find some peace and serenity. "There must be somewhere in this land that I may find what I seek. I need tranquility and serenity or I will go insane" he muttered aloud.
Lifting his face he scented for anything dangerous or potentianlly friendly, sensing nothing he picked up his pace to a leisurely trot. Enjoying the sunny day, soft breezes and vibrant smells Thalion soon became lost in the world around him. Not paying attention to where he was going he suddenly came upon a field which numerous lovely flowers laid upon it.
Sensing movement Thalion broke out of his reverie and saw a stunningly beautiful intricately patterned female rolling around in the flowers. She looked excited and happy to be rolling around. Shocked Thalion could do nothing but stare.

Zephyra was fully covered in pollen, nectar, and petals. Eventually, she was satisfied that she smelled as much like a flower as she could, and she stood up, gently shaking off some of the larger petals. Her hair was a tangled mess, and butterflies and dragonflies floated around her, picking off nectar where drips of it had gathered. As she turned this way and that to nose at the bugs, she spied a stallion across the field. Startled, she flattened her ears against her head and took up a defensive position, pawing at the ground, ready to bolt at any time. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" she cried out, scared.

Staring and unable to immediately speak Thalion was enthralled by this beautiful mare. Watching the butterflies and dragonflies float around her was almost mystical in nature and Thalion found himself absolutely stunned.
Suddenly the lovely mare spotted him and took a defensive position. A voice unlike any he has ever heard spoke to him. Trying to focus he shook his head and looked directly at her. "I am Thalion and as to why I am here simply I was wandering the land to find a tranquil and serene place for me to relax and enjoy the peace" he finally said. "Who are you?" he asked unable not to.

Zephyra paused before answering. He was looking at her strangely, as if sizing her up. She had rarely come across stallions, and was unsure of what to do. She flicked her ears, searching for any other sounds. The good thing about being out in the open was that she would be able to hear anyone else come up. "My name is Zephyra," she answered hesitantly. She continued to stay on the defense, watching in case he made any sudden movements. "If it's a peaceful place that you would like, this field is as serene as the quietest river. In fact, I was about to leave. You are welcome to enjoy the field as you like." With that, Zephyra backed up a few paces, keeping her eyes on Thalion.

Thalion was waiting for her answer and was watching her lovely face for any sign of emotion. To him she seemed almost skittish as if she is unsure of what to do around a stallion. "My word is she unsure of herself? She is so beautiful she must have stallions falling over themselves to gain her affections" he thought to himself.
Watching her to gague her she spoke to him again with that voice. It washed over him in a most pleasant way. As she spoke to him she started to back up a few steps as if to bolt if she needed to.
Realizing he needed to be extremely careful and not rush her, he lowered his head slightly, relaxed his stance and allowed his ears to move in a non threatening manner. "I am always searching for somewhere to enjoy the gifts the land of ours has to offer. Usually I am looking to be away from irritating foals who some seem to want to attach themselves to me which I find most daunting" he said in a pleasant voice. "There is no reason why we can not both enjoy this lovely place, you seem so happy here among the lovely flowers. Their fragrance is filling the air and their beauty is dotting the field in an awash of colors and textures. I am not going to hurt you, I would like to talk with you if I may" he said earnestly.

At his movement, she backed up a bit more before realizing he had left himself completely defenseless. Even if it were a ruse, Zephyra was too naive to catch it. She finally relaxed also, and watched him curiously now. "Foals attach themselves to you?" Zephyra looked around, as if expecting a foal to run out into the field. When nothing happened, she looked at him curiously. "You're male, and yet you have foals following you, though you seem to wish otherwise. Why do they follow you? Are you their father?" She shook out her muscles and wings, relaxing her body and unconsciously taking a few steps towards Thalion, interested in his reply.

Watching her relax was a joy for Thalion to behold. "My word every second that passes she becomes even more enchanting then the moment before" he thought to himself.
She was speaking in that soft almost lyrical voice again or that is how it sounded to Thalion. "I can listen to her speak every second of the day and never grow tired of it" he mused to himself.
"Ahem, yes well there is one foal who seemed to wish to play with me and I was not interested but there was something about that particular foal though not my blood I found her to be less annoying then the others" he said. "I am surprised she is not following me she may have went back to her mother where she belongs" he said thoughtfully. "Nay I do not have any foals and up til now I was sure I did not want any but now I find myself possibly considering the idea of fathering some offspring with the right mare" he said.

Zephyra stood there, stunned. Did the stallion not need to take breaths as often as her? He had said all three sentences in as many breaths. It was quite an amazing thing, the ability to speak without pausing. She was so impressed, in fact, that she skipped right over the last words he said in a rush to satisfy her curiousity. She took a few more steps towards him, wonder bright in her eyes. "How do you speak like that?" she asked the stallion.

Thalion was speechless as she took a few more steps towards him and she asked how he speaks like that. "How I speak like what?" he thought. "Am I not articulate and mannered enough for her?" he worried to himself.
"I am unsure of what you ask? I speak as I always have and no one til now has questioned it and to be honest I am unsure of how to take that question. I do not mean to be rude but can you elaborate on what you mean?" he asked in a respectfully low voice.

"The way you talk without breathing!" Zephyra exclaimed. "You can say so many words on one breathe!" She tried to attempt it herself, taking in a deep breathe, "You talk and then you almost come to a pause but keep on talking instead and it's really quite impressive that your lungs can...." And that was as much as she could say before taking in more air. "That you can speak like that!" she continued. She smiled innocently, and more than a bit naively.

"They way I talk?" he said slowly. "I do not understand what you mean. I speak normally albeit I do speak with more class and civility then most azreins as due to my upbringing. I was most fortunate in my youth. Are you saying that I speak funny?" he asked her in a low soft tone.
Looking directly at her he was awaiting her to answer him. "Her face is so beautiful I can stare at her all day every day for eternity and never be bored" he thought to himself. "She must think I'm a imbicele for the way I am speaking to her" he thought sadly to himself.

"You don't talk funny. Just different! I hadn't ever heard anyone talk in such a way." Zephyra began to become anxious. She seemed to have hurt his feelings, though she didn't mean to. "I'm sorry if I sounded rude, I didn't mean to seem that way." She looked around, trying to find something to distract him with. Something he said caught her attention though. "How were you brought up? For that matter, how are normal Azrein brought up?" She had very little encounters to go by for how Azrein were raised.

"I was raised by a father who believed in honor and loyalty above all else. Our King is our life, nothing else matters. I decided at a young age to become accomplished to prove to my father I was worthy of being his offspring though that failed miserably." he said truthfully. "What of your upbringing?" he asked.
While awaiting her answer he looked around to distract himself. "I must not stare at her anymore she must think there is something wrong with me" he said to himself.

"How is it that becoming accomplished failed? And why would that be a factor for how much your father would approve of you? How could your father not think that you were his wonderful son?" Zephyra asked, confused. "Parents are supposed to love their offspring, unconditionally. Even though I have become independent of my own parents, and we rarely see each other, I know that they love me, and will always love me. I bet your father is the same way, too," she remarked, completely naive to the thought that other parents might be very different to her own.
