Lucyal She didn’t have anything to do and there really was no one to spend time with at the moment, so that left the reaper with only one thing to do. Flail. Idle hands were the devil’s tools, and instead of just sitting around she could always be doing something! Thus, on this day in a field near the reaper dorms, Hel was flailing about. Of course that’s what it looked like to a passing by student from a distance, but when one dared to come closer, they’d see the valkyrie was actually…sparring…with an invisible opponent? So from a distance, the ghoul continued to look like a flailing, grinning loon, but it wasn’t like she cared. She was having fun and exercising, and that was all that mattered right now. Huni Pi Petro had just left the monster dorms to go about his usual daily running routine. He'd been running in his real form for the past several weeks now and figured he shouldn't let his human guise fall behind as well. There weren't very many students milling about, which didn't really matter to Tro. Usually. It's not like they intentionally would go out of their way to be an obstacle or something. Huh. Now there was a good idea to suggest to the Fitness Club. Maybe they can have an obstacle course built! Repetition was all well and good but that didn't prepare one for possible surprises. Such as now, when the tikbalang caught sight of a ghoul who seemed to be... square-root brows knitted together as he slowed down to a brisk jog as he heared the reaper dorms. "Hey!" he yelled out from afar to ask, "Y' okay? Or'r y' having seizures?" What? It was a genuine question and Tro was genuinely concerned for the ghoul. All that flailing about couldn't be healthy, could it? Lucyal Hel was off in her own little world as she flailed (read as sparred) about in the field, but snapped out of it and paused as soon as someone called out to her. The reaper’s head whipped around to catch sight of an eerily familiar student, and she paused, blinking as she rummaged through her mental database of faces and names from the Festival. OH! This one didn’t take too long to figure out at all, because even though he wasn’t in his humanoid form, the tattoos across his nose, hair, and loin cloth totally made him stand out from a lot of other students she met. Well, that and he happened to flash her too. Luckily Hel didn’t really care so much about that part as other ghouls did. “Petro!” The reaper greeted back excitedly, having learned his name from Mot when the cowboil showed her around campus a while ago. Hel gave up her flailing to dash over and fall in pace with the jogging tikbalang, grinning widely at him as she laughed. “I wasn’t having seizures!” She replied with amusement, “I was sparring! How have you been, friend?”

Huni Pi The horse boil was about to make a sigh of relief to learn that the ghoul wasn't having a seizure when she suddenly called out his name. He suddenly tensed. Yes, she looked familiar, the distinct tone of her skin had left an impression on Tro during Floresctival but he was certain he hadn't managed to introduce himself to the ghoul. He did not like how having her know his name while he couldn't say the same of her made him feel. When she began to jog beside him, all he could do was blink and stare and perhaps quirk a square-root brow at her. He had heard her mention something about sparring, but first things first. "We ain't been properly introduced for y' to wanna call me friend." There was no malice in his voice, if anything it would have been mild surprise and slight embarrassment. "'S it alright if y' let me make it official?" he asked as he continued his pace. Maybe later he would pick up speed but right now he didn't want to be rude to a ghoul. If Hel had been a boil, well, Tro would have started to shift his speed from leisurely to brisk. Right now, he wanted to know if the reaper ghoul would grant him permission. Lucyal Any apprehension Tro might have felt about her mysterious knowledge about his name went unnoticed, and there wasn’t any shame in the reaper as she grinned at him. “Ah, well if that’s all I need to do to call you friend, then I will! My name is Hel!” With all the…chaos and bad luck that seemed to have happened at the flipped table picnic area, she wasn’t surprised that they weren’t formally introduced to each other, but that didn’t matter now! This boil’s formal way of speaking amused her too. “Uh, if that pleases you, then by all means, make it official!” She consented readily as she easily jogged along with him. It was probably a good thing the reaper was so easy going with the right company, and held a respect towards the horse boil already as he seemed to be a good warrior. The fact that she had met him while he was jogging was refreshing enough! Someone else who took their exercise seriously, it seemed. Huni Pi "'M glad for that," Petro nodded with a smile, "Good to officially meet y', Hel." He offered her his hand as his thoughts returned to something she'd said earlier. "Y' said y' were sparring earlier? Was it something like shadow boxing? What y' were doing?" he asked. Now no longer worried, he'd taken a curious interest in her methodology. He'd tried shadow boxing a couple of times before and while it meant he had a good idea of how his opponent usually moved, he missed the feel of actually hitting and being hit. Call him a glutton for pain, but it was far more satisfying to feel fists and feet connect with actual flesh. Even if it was his flesh being pummeled. He'd learn from his mistakes and work on getting better from there. There was no desire in Tro to laze away most of his days here in the Academy. Granted, he was allowed the occasional breather period to let his body rest. (Over training did more harm than good.) But that breathing period wouldn't be coming up for quite a while.

Lucyal The reaper happily took Petro’s hand, giving it a firm shake before releasing it. “Indeed I was!” She reaffirmed, pausing for nodding her head. “Shadow boxing…yes! Something like that!” She was familiar with the term…it more or less equated to an imaginary opponent, right? “Though truthfully friend, anyone else I could have trained with today is busy, so I was also just entertaining myself.” Hel jogged along with him, humming in thought, until she was suddenly struck by a bright idea. Duh! Her new friend! She could spar him! The reaper was just grinning widely over at the horse boil now with the intent to battle him. “Say there…” She started, excitement easily creeping into her tone. “How about we spar together?” Oooh the chance to battle with him was great! Hopefully he’d agree to it right now! She couldn’t wait! Huni Pi Gradually, Petro had begun to increase the pace of his jogging, it wouldn't have been long before he broke out into a full gallop. All the while, he continued to listen to Hel, nodding when she confirmed his theory of shadow boxing. "Oh? Y' got a usual partner to train with?" That certainly piqued his curiosity. He rather liked the idea of having someone he could regularly spar with rather than just hope they were available at the time. However, when the reaper suggested they spar together, Petro felt apprehension. And this was visible in the furrow of his brows. Oh sure, he'd sparred with his cousins and aunts and sometimes nieces before. But they were family (and he'd get it worse if he refused to spar with them). He had yet to actually tussle with a ghoul from the academy. And while Hel did look formidable, he wasn't familiar enough with her to readily accept. "Do y' mean right now?" he asked. Lucyal Lucky enough, Hel kept right up with the horse boil no problem! She didn’t complain nor show any sign of discomfort at their increasing pace, and happily kept up with him to further their conversation. “In a way, yes!” The reaper replied. “I’ve been training with Mot often well…” Here she paused, her brow furrowing. “Actually, more like, I have been training him.” She corrected, and then grinned. “While the exercise is nice, he’s not on the same ground as I am!” With the cowboil it was more like she was teacher and he was the student. He wasn’t an equal training partner….yet… She picked up on Petro’s apprehension, and resisted the urge to groan. Oh! Not another boil that refused to battle with ghouls too! Please Jack, say it wasn’t so! Just like with Mot though, Hel was not above trying to goad Petro into it, and the horse boil gave her a bit of hope to hang on to when he didn’t flat out refused her yet. “If not now, then when?” The reaper piped up, and then waggled her dual colored brows at him. “You’re not… scared…are you, friend?” Her grin widened.

Huni Pi Seeing as how she was easily keeping in time, Tro's gait was instinctively picking up speed. "Haw! Y're training Mot too? His arms ain't gonna be too skinny for long, that's for sure!" he laughed, "But y' gotta admit, boil's got good aim when y' got enough distance between y'."Oh Petro was easily goaded into losing his temper. However, he always, always tried his best to keep his anger in check when the provocation (despite not realizing he was being provoked) was coming from a ghoul. So even though there was a slight twitch of his eye at the accusation of cowardice, he simply shook his head, "Ain't nothing like that. 'S just my momma warned me about sparring with ghouls I ain't all that familiar with. She says it ain't right conduct unless they done something to warrant it."Like, oh, insulting Petro's dear momma perhaps? Lucyal The reaper nearly looked like a deer as she stretched out her legs to keep up with Petro, but it was all done in amusement, as she was having a good time with the increase of pace. “Oh?” She echoed curiously. “Too? Does that imply you are training him as well friend?” The valkyrie wasn’t aware that there were others helping him out, but the thought pleased her! “I haven’t seen him aim yet, but I suppose I’ll ask the next time we train! As of late, I’ve been working with him on techniques to throw off enemies who get too close to him.” Hel was still grinning as Petro explained his reasoning for not sparring with her yet. Oh? Something to warrant it, huh? Well, a reason for him to fight back was coming right up! In a nice little show of energy, the reaper leapt ahead of the horse boil, spun on her heel, and wasted no time in attempting to deliver a round house kick, still grinning like a fiend the entire time. Huni Pi "'S more've a give and take sort of thing. He trains me in dodging and speed, I train his aim and make him figure out countermeasures to being cornered," the horse boil explained. There was another thing Petro's momma taught him: Never lower your guard. And since his guard was already up, Hel's suddenly jump forward had him shifting his stance to prepare for a block. And block he did! His arm rose up, the ghoul's instep colliding solidly against his wrist. In the same instance of contact, Tro's own arm twisted, his hand grabbing her ankle in an attempt to throw her a good distance away. Well now, that certainly warranted a spar. He just hoped it wouldn't be anything like the one he had with Shun. They were outside with nothing to inhibit him from going into his real form after all. (It was more of Tro not wanting to get into trouble than worrying he'd hurt Hel.)

Lucyal Give and take…Hel looked thoughtful about this before giving it an approving nod. She liked that concept of give and take. She might have to look into that the next time she trained. But for now? Sparring. It was on. The reaper wasn’t alarmed when Tro grabbed her ankle, if anything she was just delighted, and as the horse boil tossed her away from him, she laughed. This was exciting already! A boil who could toss her easily and far with no hesitation! With a few flaps of her wings, Hel righted herself and landed firmly on her feet, spreading her feet out a bit and getting into a low stance with her hands outstretched. She eyed Petro for a long moment before coming at him again, leaping up into the air and trying to deliver another kick once more. Huni Pi Unlike Hel, Tro did not look like he was enjoying himself. The expression on the horse boil's human face was one of serious concentration as he eyed those wings of hers. He managed to keep himself from groaning when it was obvious he was going to have a hell of a time with Hel. Whether it was because it looked like he was going to have to deal with aerial maneuvers (which he hated as he was more accustomed to sparring with non-winged opponents) or it was the pun was up for debate. As the reaper ghoul made a second attempt at delivering a kick, Tro pulled his arms up into a cross-block just in time. The sole of her outstretched feet sharply colliding against his bracer. He felt the vibration along his arm and was grateful for the dense bone and muscles of his kind. From the block, Tro leaned back before he shot his arms forward, once again shoving Hel back. Only this time, he kicked off the ground to chase her down, his arms on either side of him. When it looked like the reaper was just about to regain her balance, Tro attempted to tackle her for his usual ground-and-pound methodology. What? Tro may be a gentleboil, but this was a spar and she made the first move. It would be a dishonor to both of them if he didn't take it seriously. Lucyal Oooh the reaper was just beside herself with joy! Appearances were very much true in Petro’s case the reaper discovered, for not only did he look like a capable warrior, he was one. The ghoul chuckled as she felt the vibration from her steel plated boot colliding with his bracer travel up her leg, and once again was pushed a good distance away from the horse boil. Oh my, he was chasing her down this time! Hel knew that at this point, if he pinned her to the ground, it’d probably be over as it was to his advantage. She knew she wouldn’t be able to dodge in time… on her own and to keep things interesting and lively, the reaper was ready to pull a bit of a trump card from out of her sleeve. As Tro closed in quickly, Hel leapt into the air once more, though this time the reaper concentrated as she was airbourne, and summoned her spear. With her weapon now in hand, she didn’t use it to attack Tro, no, she used it like a pole vault, propelling herself faster into the air and out of Petro’s reach. The reaper dismissed it just as quickly as had summoned it, feeling a bit of relief as she managed to escape Petro’s clutches this time. Back to grinning like a fiend, Hel climbed a bit high into the air before she dove at the horse boil, her foot outstretched to try and deliver another kick.

Huni Pi One second, Hel was right in front of him, in the prime spot for a tackle. The next second, she was gone and all Tro managed to grab was an armful of air. Brown eyes widened as the caught sight of Hel and her weapon, immediately causing himself to brace for a weapon strike. When none came, Tro's surprise kept his momentum going and was unable to angle his body into a roll, ending up with a mouthful of dirt. Petro didn't stay down long, though, and immediately got back to his feet in search of the ghoul. The horse boil didn't get up fast enough, however. He barely managed to raise his arm to shield his face but he hadn't planted his feet and thus when Hel's kick met with his clenched fist, the blow sent him toppling onto his back a fair distance away. She may not look it but Hel was strong! And this made Tro's heart beat a little faster, his blood flow a little hotter, and a mad grin reminiscent to the reaper ghoul's appeared on the tikbalang's face. Using the momentum this time, Tro managed to get back onto his feet and without so much as a pause broke into another attempt at tackling the ghoul. This time, however, his intention was to force her towards the nearby trees. At least this way he'd be able to use his surroundings to help him gain a better reach. Lucyal The reaper cackled wildly as she managed to topple the horse boil, pumping her wings to bring her a bit higher back into the air, and hovered for now, staring down at her opponent. Things seemed to shift now, as she noted the grin on Petro’s face, and couldn’t help but be fueled on by more excitement. Looks like things were about to get really good! Hel was on guard as the tikbalang used the momentum from the kick to spring back at his feet, and charged straight for her again. The reaper, in a possibly careless move right now, did work towards his intention, and started to head backwards towards the wooded area. When the ghoul finally turned around in the right direction, she grimaced. Oops! That wasn’t good! It was too late to try going back now, as that would put her straight in Petro’s path. The valkyrie dove towards the nearest tree’s branch, and clung to it, before pulling herself up. Apparently, they were about to take this spar into the trees. Huni Pi Petro watched Hel intently, brown eyes darting at the nearby trees just as the reaper ghoul found herself in the woods. His ground-devouring stride didn't slow down in the least. In fact his pace increased when Hel pulled herself up onto a tree branch. While the branches wouldn't completely prevent her from using her wings, at least she didn't have as much space to perform aerial attacks on him. It was then that the horse boil's direction shifted toward the tree opposite that of Hel's. Partly due to his moment and partly due to the strength of his legs, Petro managed to run up the tree until halfway up its trunk. In one smooth motion, powerful legs kicked off the trunk, launching the horse boil at Hel and aiming a kick of his own towards her.

Lucyal This spar was getting intense and interesting really fast, and Hel approved whole heartedly. She pulled herself onto the branch, crouching while holding onto it rightly, her dual gaze whipping around to catch Petro. She couldn’t help but be impressed with the way his legs just ate up the ground, and was doubly impressed with how he ran up the tree. Oh Jack, no more time to be impressed! Her mind was rapidly trying to process what she should do. She couldn’t block it, she’d fall from the branch for certain due to the power of his legs, and at this point she couldn’t counter either….only one choice! Hel fell backwards, her hands gripping tightly onto the branch as she spun underneath it, and hopefully dodged it in time… Huni Pi The beauty of fighting in woodlands? There would always be a surface to ricochet off of in case you missed your target. This was a perfect example with Tro's feet soaring a hair's breadth above Hel as the reaper ghoul fell over backwards. Granted this section of the woods wasn't the dense forest Tro was accustomed to so by the time he managed to bounce off another tree to land firmly on the ground, it should be enough time for the reaper ghoul to make her counter attack. Which was why Petro was immediately on the defensive, arms prepared to block an incoming attack. At this rate, the horse boil wanted to suggest to Riley that Fitness Club hold some of its activities in places outside of the Club Room. Training on different terrains would be awesome! Yeah, he definitely had Hel to thank for this idea. Lucyal Hel could only wonder about hard that kick would have been if it had landed on her at all. She had barely managed to dodge that, and she swore she could just feel the power emanating from the horse boil as he soared over her. She had picked a great sparring partner. True to Petro’s logic, the reaper used the momentum from her grip on the branch to let it catapult her up and over, and she out her foot outstretched now as well try and attack him. Her brows furrowed as her foot landed around the solid mass of his awaiting arms, and the ghoul using his arms as a platform of sorts, pushing off of him to launch her back into the trees. There she reached out and clung to another branch. Damn, she lost a fair bit of her aerial advantage being here.

Huni Pi Despite being ready for the incoming kick, Petro still found his back colliding with bark and felt splinters dig into his skin. Heh, no pain, no gain. He was sure his arms would still be feeling the after shocks of Hel's kicks. But that just made him that much more eager for the spar. The horse boil suddenly charged towards Hel, lunging forward, making a grab for her ankles while she was still dangling from the tree branch. If he could get a good grip on her, he'd be halfway to pinning her. The key word being if as Hel was proving herself difficult to catch. Jack damn, that agility and strength of hers? Yeah, damn lethal combination if they were in an actual battle. Then again, Petro had yet to go real form. Lucyal She needed to pull herself up and fast! Sadly, she’d be just a little too late this time, and before she could pull herself up onto the branch, she’d find her arms feeling like they were being yanked as there was a sudden weight on her ankles. Hel’s gaze shot down, only to be greeted by the sight of Petro hanging on. Jack damn was right! The ghoul stubbornly clung onto the branch, determined to not let herself drop, because if he managed to ground her, it’d be trouble. Not one to give up though, it was time to do whatever she could to throw him off! Hel wildly started to rock back and forth, the ghoul and the boil resembling the movements of a playground swing. Once she got enough rocking momentum, the reaper started to snap her legs back and forth was well, hoping to possibly fling Petro off of her. Huni Pi Petro felt Hel's strengths from her kicks earlier but that hadn't been a very good way to gauge just how strong the reaper was. The tree branch was of a fair height, and with Hel's height added to his own, there were only a few inches between the tips of his toes and the ground. So when the reaper began to swing back and forth, and their joined forms began to resemble a pendulum, Tro figured it was time for his trump card. More than likely, Hel would feel Tro's transformation first before she would see it. Given that his hands had grown larger, that he'd gotten noticably heavier, and perhaps most importantly, he had his hooves on the ground while his arms simply continued to flow with Hel's movements. Without warning, his arms sharply yanked downward and there was an audible snap of the tree branch breaking.

Lucyal After a few more swings, Hel found something to be…off. Why did it feel like she was the only one who was swinging? Her dual gazed snapped back down, especially as the hold on her ankles felt like it had grown (not to mention the pull), and her eyes widened briefly. Oh ho! A trick up his uh…loincloth? Petro didn’t wear sleeves! This could…potentially spell trouble quickly, Hel realized. Her gaze snapped back up as Petro yanked on her ankles, hearing the crack of the tree branch as it came off too. Jack damn! The reaper kept a hold of the branch still though, and as she was pulled down, she pulled her arms back, poising up to take a whack at the horse boil like she was about to hit a home run, and swung the branch around at him, however she could. She needed to get away and to take back into the air. She just knew with Petro in this form, she was done for if she stayed on the ground. Huni Pi In hindsight, getting Hel out of the tree to ground her while she was still holding the branch wasn't the brightest of ideas. But then again, Tro was fairly confident of his skull's toughness. The problem was, if Hel had swung down with a hammer blow, Petro's thick skull (especially in his real form) would have been able to stand the blow and allow him to follow up with a wrist grab. Except Hel had swung using a batter's swing and the broken branch smacked right against Petro's temple. And hitting that sensitive pressure point was enough to stun Tro long enough to let the reaper ghoul go. He stumbled backward, less from pain and more from the aftershock of the temple-blow. If it had been a more compact strike, Tro would have been out like a light. Lucyal Ah! It worked! As soon as she felt the grip on her ankles loosen, Hel shot away from the horse boil like a bat out of…hell. She eagerly abandoned the branch off to the side, rather thankful though for its usefulness in allowing her to escape from Petro’s clutches. The reaper leapt back, this time away from the tree line, and back towards the open field. Was that skill, or luck, she wondered? Regardless, she was thankful for it, and gave a tentative grin as she leapt back into the air, flapping her wings and was airborne once more. “You’re not done already, are you, friend?” She called out to the horse boil tauntingly, feeling confident once more after this recent turn of events.

Huni Pi The monster horse got back to his hooves, shaking off the tiny black spots dancing across his eyes. His ears flicked forward at Hel's taunts and instinctively his hooves pawed at the ground. "Y' wish!" he called back, "Gonna take a lot more'n that to get me to stay down!" There was nothing but good humor in his voice. Yes, even with the trash talking he was enjoying himself. Outdoor sparring was infinitely preferable to the tikbalang and he absently wondered what it would be like to spar with a certain red dragon in his real form. When the last of the dancing dots finally faded from his line of sight, Tro shot after Hel. And without warning, powerful legs kicked off the ground, launching him upwards towards her with arms outstretch. What? Petro was single-minded and relentless with his Ground and Pound strategy. Obviously sparring would be a great way for him to develop new ones once he figured that out. Lucyal “Good to hear it!” The reaper replied, her grin widening. She thrived on the trash talk as well. Bantering was always an integral part of sparing for the valkyrie, as when she’d spar with her sisters, they were anything but quiet. The ghoul was more prepared this time as the tikbalang shot after her, and now that she was away from the trees and in the air well…she was in her element again! She was still rather impressed with his natural form. His ability to leap had increased incredibly, and it was something she needed to be cautious about still, in addition to the speed and strength. Well…he was in his natural form…so it should only be fair she could summon something that was natural to her, right? Right! Hel outstretched her hand and summoned her spear once more, the weight of it in her hands a reassurance. No dodging this time, but she was going to stay in the air! The reaper pulled her spear back like a baseball bat once more, and swung at the soaring horse boil, aiming for his torso to possibly knock him off course. Air plus distance because of the spear…things seemed good! Huni Pi Petro knew he'd be more vulnerable in the air, given his size and general lack of wings or the ability to fly. But that wasn't going to keep Petro from charging on ahead like always. So when Hel summoned that spear of hers, an expectant glint shone in Tro's eyes. Hah! He wondered when she'd bring that back out. It became obvious to the horse boil that the strike wasn't going to be a feint, he not only braced himself for impact but welcomed it. There was a heavy grunt when the pole struck his ribs and the momentum from Hel's blow was indeed enough to veer him off course. But he kept his wits about him and grabbed the spear, using his weight along with the force of the strike to pull Hel closer towards him.

Lucyal Ah ha! It worked! Hel was pleased to see that she had enough power to move him off of his path. The reaper was jerked though, as the boil grabbed her spear and attempted to pull her closer. She couldn’t help but give Petro the cheekiest, knowing grin. Oh, it was a good theory, for sure, and it would have worked! Until she did this. The reaper dismissed her weapon once more, and as of right now, the horse boil had nothing holding him to her, which was for the best! Hel knew she’d be in trouble if she got grounded; it was something she wasn’t forgetting anytime soon! Hel pumped her wings, climbing back into the air, where she summoned her spear once more, twirling it before pointing the blade at the tikbalang before she lunged at him with the spear outstretched. Huni Pi Ack! He'd forgetten she could summon and desummon her weapon at while. And it was evident the strength of his yank hadn't been enough to bring Hel within reach because all he had in his grasp was empty air. He doubted he'd be able to do the same move on her the second time around. While still in mid-air he began to twist and angle his body as he plummetted. There was a considerable crash as Petro landed on all fours, the ground giving way to his weight. His equine head shot up and brown eyes narrowed at the reaper's follow through. The bladed end of the spear was aimed right at him! This spar just got serious. And frankly, Tro didn't mind one bit. His nostrils flared as he righted himself and stood his ground while the reaper dove at him. At the last possible moment, he leaned hard to the right while his left arm arced to the left, his bracer smacking against the flat of the spear's blade. It was his turn to alter Hel's course. Lucyal While she dove at him, the reaper couldn’t help but briefly wonder how this spar would end. Petro took damage, falls, hits, strikes and everything like a champ…he wasn’t even showing any signs of slowing down, either! Stubborn, he was, and that was another thing Hel could relate to! The ghoul narrowed her eyes as it seemed Tro wasn’t going to dodge. What was he thinking…? Oh! Nice. As a fellow warrior, she could appreciate this bold move, waiting until the last second to dodge and deflect her attack. The reaper was greeted by the sound of metal hitting metal as his bracer smacked the blade of her spear, sending the weapon veering off to the side. That was okay though, that was just the first wave, and here the ghoul came as the second! When Petro smacked the spear away, the reaper’s foot was outstretched once more, hoping to see another kick connect since he had been preoccupied with the spear…

Huni Pi The horse boil grimaced. While he managed to deflect the direction of the spear, it did nothing to divert the rest of the reaper. He grit his teeth, felt her sole impact against his skin, and the pressure he'd been putting on his knees increased. The strength of the kick sent him down, and again he found his face planted in dirt. Jack damn was the tikbalang getting some serious face-time with the ground. As he rose to his feet, Petro's hand grabbed at his loincloth, quickly undoing the wrapping. In what was a desperate bid to catch the reaper, the (now naked) horse boil wrung the fabric into a tight cord before whipping it towards Hel as some sort of makeshift lasso. It seems he'd learned that grabbing Hel's weapon was useless as she could dismiss it whenever she wanted. Now if he'd caught her that'd be a different story altogether! Of course, that was if he managed to catch her in the first place. Lucyal Hel grinned as her foot connected with his flesh once more, and took a moment to watch the horse boil go down to the ground again before she started to climb back into the air. This tactic was working rather well for her so far! Before she could get too high into the air though, Hel felt herself being yanked once more. Woah! Her gaze whipped down at see that her ankle had been snagged by…rope? Where did Petro get a rope from!? Regardless, there was a way to take care of that! The reaper swung her spear around, listening to the satisfying sound of the blade singing through the air and then easily slicing right through the middle of Petro’s lasso. Now free, the reaper climbed back into the air, and shook off the material around her ankle, but gave it a second glance as it unfolded and drifted back down to the ground in a fluttering motion. Hey wait…rope didn’t do that…and come to think of it, that material looked awfully familiar. Her brows furrowed as her gaze now shot down at Petro…where all was revealed. That wasn’t a rope. That was his loincloth, and she had just sliced it. …Ooops. Huni Pi Tro's ears flicked forward in agitation and brown eyes widened when he heard the sound of steel slicing through cloth. Lagot ako kay momma... he winced inwardly as he watched half of his cut bahag unfurl and drop to the ground. He couldn't let his loincloth's sacrifice be in vain! Seeing that Hel seemed... distracted (by what, exactly, he wasn't sure. It wasn't as if Hel hadn't seen him naked before), the horse boil kicked off the ground again, the remaining length of fabric wrung tight into a make-shift cord. The loincloth-rope's reach had been compromised, requiring Tro to close the gap between them in order to use it. Once again, he whipped the loincloth at Hel, still trying to catch her. At least this way, once he was close enough, he could use his bracers to deflect the spear.

Lucyal Hel actually felt bad! She didn’t mean to destroy his clothes like that, but she didn’t know! It looked like he had a rope, so her first reaction was to get rid of it, of course. The reaper was indeed distracted, but she snapped out of it when out of the corner of her eye, she caught Petro leaping up at her and coming in fast with….another rope!? How quickly Hel forgot once more, and out of a knee jerk reaction, she swung her spear around to slice through that bit of loin cloth chord as well. It then struck her again. “Jack damn it!” She snapped, smacking a palm to her forehead. She was really going to owe him a new one after this! The reaper dismissed her spear for now, as it was just causing problems, and climbed back into the air, out of his reach again for a moment before whipping around and dove back down at him with her foot outstretched. Huni Pi There goes the last bit of his spur-of-the-moment weapon (and his loincloth), he'd worry about his momma's reaction about it later. Right now, as he landed back on the ground, he just missed his opportunity but at least Hel had dismissed her spear. There was, of course, still the matter of her wings keeping her out of reach. But even that seemed to be rendered moot as she aimed a kick at him again. This time, her heel was fast approaching Tro's face. He would have rolled to the side except his knees were beginning to feel the strain of all this jumping around. Instead, he reverted to his human form, the immediate decrease in height allowing him to dodge the kick without needing to move from where he knelt. He felt the air displace overhead, wondering just how far he'd be flung if it had connected as a hand instinctively rose up to try and grab the reaper's extended limb. Lucyal To say the least, Hel was not expecting Tro to shift back into his human form. She looked rather perplexed as her foot met nothing, and instead sailed right over the horse boil, until he managed to grab a hold of her wrist. Uh oh. Instead of continuing to move right on over the boil, the reaper was jerked from the grasp, her hand instinctively reaching to grasp a hold of him as well, and her fingers clutched what they could, which happened to be one of his bracers. Here, Hel also continued to flap her wings, though she couldn’t climb into the air, not with Petro holding onto her, but at least it kept her off of the ground…for now.

Huni Pi Finally he'd managed to get a good grip on her. Tro could hardly believe it took him this long in order to catch the ghoul. Heh, it was certainly quite the work out and he was certainly going to be able to sleep easy tonight. He ignored his rather drafty situation, focusing instead on ending the spar. Despite his fatigue, the horse boil's mouth had pulled into a triumphant grin as he once again shifting to his real form. Still crouched, he pivoted on the balls of his feet, attempting to slam Hel to the ground as his body twisted, using both his strength and the momentum of his movement to force the valkyrie out of the sky. Lucyal She was going to be in a serious world of trouble if she didn’t do something, and quick. Hel was on edge as Tro shifted back into his real form, and the valkyrie struggled, her wings fluttering rapidly much like a trapped bird. Ack, trying to take off was useless, not with how tight she was holding onto her rest! But wait! It was time for her trump card once more, and to hope it would work. Hel summoned her spear once more, and as Tro went through the starting motions of pulling her from the sky, she went through the motions and swinging her spear at him. Much like the branch she held earlier, Hel whipped her spear around like a base ball bat, aiming to strike Petro in the temple once more. Hopefully this momentum would throw him off…it was a last ditch effort. Huni Pi From the corner of his eyes, Petro spotted the approaching swing. With both his hands firmly gripping Hel's wrist, Tro didn't have the time to let go and block the incoming attack. It was perhaps a last ditch effort but he turned his face, intended to meet the strike head on. So to speak. Gritting his teeth, the horse boil braced himself. The staff collided with Tro's forehead, and while the horse boil's skull was unusually thick, the built up fatigue from the spar took its toll. There was an audible crack of solid matter hitting another solid matter and for a split-second, the monster boil's grip on Hel went lax. If she didn't take the opportunity, Petro would regain his hold and follow through with the grounding.

Lucyal While Hel respected Tro before, the respect for him grew of a hell of a lot more as he purposely turned his head to take the brunt of the blow directly. Regardless, the satisfying sound of her weapon colliding against flesh was heard, and it did exactly what she hoped for it to day. The reaper didn’t let this opportunity slip. As soon as she felt Petro’s grip go lax, the reaper shot away from him and climbed back into the sky. That was a close call, but it was time to try and finish this! The reaper whipped around, and chucked her spear down at the horse boil. That wasn’t meant to be a finishing move by any means though, no, it was a distraction. While the tikbalang would hopefully be preoccupied dodging that, the ghoul shot back down towards him once more with her foot outstretched, aiming to deliver another kick. They seemed to work so well before! Huni Pi By the time Petro realized the reaper had slipped from his grasp, Hel's spear was hurtling towards him. Jack damn she was fast and the tikbalang couldn't help but admire the ghoul who had both strength and speed on her side. However this spar ended, Tro was going to make certain this wouldn't be their last. Brown eyes narrowed as his body instinctively dove to the side to avoid being skewered, unfortunately noticing the sole of heavy boots a fraction of a second too late. He tried to revert to his human form, intending for her to miss him again except the change didn't occur soon enough. Rather than the gut where she would have originally hit, the horse monster felt a solid, powerful strike against his sternum. He practically folded in on himself before being sent backwards, his body roughly scraping against the ground, and finally coming to a halt a good distance away. Lucyal She was almost worried about that changing trick…but the worry was unfounded as she felt the solid hit underneath her foot. Hel grinned as Petro was knocked back, and didn’t leave the boil alone at that, no. She ripped through the air after his flying form, de-summoning her spear from where it rested wedged into the ground a ways away, and back into her hands. The reaper then dropped back down to the ground, towering over the tikbalang, with the blade of her spear an inch or so away from his throat. She had won. Hel kept her spear there for a moment longer before she finally de-summoned it once more, and then held out a dark hand down to the horse boil to help him back to his feet. “…You did well, friend.” She uttered happily after a moment, grinning down at him. “I haven’t had that much fun in a while! You are indeed a worthy opponent!”
