 Taoshira was just enjoying an outing with Enthallion. It had been a nice day so far so they spent it at the river. But just when they were getting out of the water, Tashi noticed a storm rolling in fast. "Thali, I think we should take cover...this storm is moving fast and I think it's going to be a bad one."

"I think so too, there is a copse of old growth trees over here, we should take cover there. Under the branches we should stay more or less dry depending on the rainfall. Lets hope there is no lightning." he said and began to walk in the general direction of the trees. Of course he took the time to play n** at Tashi's tail.

Tashi nodded as she headed towards the grove of trees Thali had pointed out. She jumped at the little n** she felt just miss her tail. The trees were a good distance away and it started raining before they even got there. Thunder rolled in the distance and Tashi's fears were confirmed, this storm would be bad. "Are you sure the trees will offer enough protection?" she asked her love.

"Yes but if the storm gets really bad, there is also a cave in the middle of them, its cold though." and he hated caves. They enclosed him and there were only two ways to run, in or out, that didn't leave predators with a lot of math to do. "So much for staying dry huh?" They reached the trees as the first clap of thunder boomed overhead, rattling the sky, the leaves and Thali's head.

"Lets try to stick it out here as long as possible. I don't like caves very much...theres only one way in and out." Tashi said with a scowl. The thunder was so loud it hurt Tao's ears, "If the thunder becomes more frequent and we start seeing lightning I think we will head to the cave. So keep an eye out."

"Oh ya, an eye and both ears for sure." he said and gazed forlornly up at the angry sky. He mane whipped back and forth in front of his face, obscuring his view occasionally. "What do you think causes lightening?" he asked her curiously. You think after all the time he had spent as a foal under the great pine, he would have asked one of the adults, but no, he still had no clue.

"I really don't know Thali, maybe when we get back to the herd we can ask Ion. Surely he would know." Tashi watched the sky, not trusting it to keep its lightning. She turned to look at Thali when lightning struck a nearby tree, scaring her as she screamed and ran behind Thali. Off in the distance, Tashi thought she heard another scream. "Did you hear that? Was that another scream or was it just my echo?" She asked him.

Enthallion blinked as Tashi ran behind him. "You know when you hear the thunder you are safe cause the lightening comes first Tao." he said and then concentrated on the memory of the two screams. " I think there were two, maybe we should go check it out, what do you think?" he asked her, looking over his butt to see the mare.

Tashi nodded. "We should go check it out. I think it came from that direction?" she asked, not sure if she had heard the correct direction of the other scream. "Where do you think it came from?"

Thali's brows furrowed. "I think it was that direction too. Be careful though it could be a trap."

"I have you to protect me so I never need to worry." Tashi said as she nuzzled him. "Lets go to that cave you were talking about, maybe someone took shelter there."

"Good idea, the cave is over there too." Enthallion trotted to through the trees and arrived at the cave mouth. "Come Tao, its safe."

Tashi followed him to the caves entrance. "Its kind of eerie isn't it?" She asked him as she peered into the black hole that was the cave. "I don't know if we should go in..." She whispered, it seemed like something sinister was hiding within.
Schuyler hid at the back of the cave. Her mother was no where in sight, and her favorite blanket was gone. She was cold, afraid, and hungry. Sky heard footsteps at the entrance of the cave causing her to cower down more, thinking it might be someone that would want to hurt her.

Enthallion inhaled deeply, "I don't smell anything particularly alarming, just azrein. Maybe whoever is in there needs help? If you were in need of help wouldn't you want me to rescue you, I know I would want you to rescue me." Enthallion placed a foot inside the cave. His hoofstep echoed through the cave.

"Yes I would Thali." Tashi said before entering the cave. She walked in looking around as she went and soon she started hearing wimpers. "hello? Is someone in here? Were not here to hurt you, we just want to help." She said softly.
Schuyler stepped out of the depths and saw a beautiful blue mare and a strong handsome stallion. "You wont hurt me?" She asked timidly. "I dont know where my mommy is and my favorite blanket disappeared in the storm...i dont know where I am." She said before she started to cry.
