Combat, if there is one thing that the Uchiha is known for. That is it. Their skill in the art of War had led many clans to find retreat the favorable option rather than to fight a member of the Uchiha Clan.
Due to the Constant struggle against the Senju Clan the Village has been divided into two sections. There is the Village portion where the civilians, retired, and higher ranking Ninja live. And the Training portion, which can only be described as a boot camp of sorts.
At a young age every member of the Uchiha village go's through the basic academy, ensuring that even those who do not turn into combatants or Shinobi in their own right, still have the basic skills needed to defend themselves or their village from attack. But those who show a high level of skill, who wish to continue on in their training, or who have influential parents are moved to the Training portion of the village, where they live together, train together, and fight together until their Training is completed.
The only time they are allowed to return to the "Village" during there training is when they are called to the clan leader, or are rewarded with free time for a sucsesfull mission.
