The wind felt wonderful. If was freeing. It was relaxing. It cleared his mind. Crow soared through the clouds, before tilting his body towards the ground for a landing. He tucked his wings tight to his body, and dropped the last few feet to the ground, he curled his body in a roll and then sprung up and sprinted. He ran just to run. Because he could. He skidded to a halt at the edge of the forest, he shook his body out and chuckled to himself. In the trees above him a crow cawed, and he looked up, and chuckled again "oh don't be a sore loser old friend. If I couldn't beat you, there wouldn't be much point in me being here now would there?" he chuckled again when the crow gave him a disgruntled look. He wasn't positive if the same rules applied now, that if the crow died so too did his power and immortality. He didn't want to find out either. He protected his crow, and his crow protected him. Not that he needed it. He smiled up at the crow, and with a nod, dismissed the bird. He sighed and wandered through the woods, enjoying the serenity of it. He came upon a grassy knoll, the same one Raven had met her trainer. Crow didn't know that of course, Raven hadn't been home since then. Which is why he was out this day, he was trying to find his daughter. He worried something terrible about her. He just wanted to know she was alright. He feared she was attacked again, or worse...

Though there were no longer any hunters here for Riddick to avoid he still patrolled his territory, though ghost that he was to the average visitor it came as no surprise that nobody knew it was his territory. Except of course for Alcyone and Raven. As for his current visitor... if it weren't for that painted face he wouldn't have known who it was. But that smiling mask was impossible not to recognize after so much as meeting Raven, much less living in close proximity to her while she was under Riddick's version of tutelage. What was dear old dad doing so far from home, though? The obvious answer was looking for his daughter. Though unless Raven actually ended her rest early and exited Riddick's little hidden cave home she wasn't likely to be found without some assistance... and it was not Raven's wish to be found yet, so he wasn't going to do that. He might be willing to give the guy an update on her well being if they wound up talking. He wasn't sure he felt like talking though. Riddick wasn't even sure he wanted to stop lounging on his current tree branch, either, but it seemed prudent to keep an eye on his winged guest. Silent as a stalking cat he crept down the tree and into some concealing undergrowth, debating whether he wanted to make himself known or not. Though if Crow was half of what Raven thought he was, Riddick suspected he'd be found soon enough.

Crow continued to saunter casually through the woods. He was looking for his daughter yes, but he was also trying to relax. He spent days frantically searching for his daughter, to no avail. He had to force himself to relax, if something bad had happened, he would feel it. When she was attacked last time, he felt it.
He had to believe she was alright. And he knew deep down she was strong enough to hold her own. She just had so b- he paused in his inner musings. His ears perked and twitched. He lifted his head, and his pupils dilated as he shifted his vision to see what his crow saw. He nodded and his vision returned. He couldn't see Riddick perfectly, but he knew full well he wasn't alone.
"I see it too old friend" he told his crow as it made it's way through the trees, cawing in frustration at having to weave through the trees, "you could have stayed in the clearing..yes you cou-oh don't be like that" he nudged the crow with his wing. "if our friend choses to show themselves that is their choice.." he said loud enough for Riddick to hear. He figured if the other one who was watching had any bad intent he would have made a move by now.

So he'd been found already? Perhaps Raven's estimation of her father's abilities was more accurate than he'd assumed. Holding a parent as a hero often to led to an overestimation on that front, but maybe not always. There was a first time for everything, especially in his experience.
"No point skulking around when I've already been found out. Well, not under current circumstances." Riddick sauntered out from the bush with barely a rustle, goggled gaze glancing quizzically at the crow and then back to Crow himself. "Little birdy told you I was here, then?"
His body language and the tone in which he said that last might easily lead one to believe he knew more about that situation than a stranger should. And why wouldn't he? Raven was prone to talking about her family when she was in one of her better moods. Or one of her worse moods, but that was a different sort of conversation that he usually tried to redirect her from...

Crow watched Riddick emerge from the bushes, and nodded. He tilted his head and sat down and watched the warrior male. He looked over at his crow who was busy preening his feathers. Crow nodded again "in a manner of speaking yes." he tilted his head "most don't associate that..." he said softly, noting that most in fact didn't realize the crow was his aid and companion.
He looked around briefly "am I trespassing in your territory" he stated, more than asked. He had a hunch.

Riddick shrugged, glancing between the two black-winged guests again. "Let's just say that paying attention to the little things is a habit I had to get into a long time ago." He wasn't going to let the shoe drop about Raven yet, not over that little trifle. Riddick intended to at least try and respect her wishes here. After all, he didn't exactly disagree with her wanting to get away from everyone while she tried to sort herself out, though he might not approve of the fact that she was hiding from them.
At the not-a-question Riddick grinned a bit wolfishly. "In a manner of speaking." He could play that game too! But he'd decided he liked the guy well enough not to be entirely cryptic. "I get the occasional visitor, but generally speaking they don't notice when I've come to greet them, if you catch my drift. I generally just wait for them to pass through and make sure they don't cause trouble."

Crow chuckled softly, a real grin creeping beneath his painted one. It seemed there were many kitsu's who silently guarded their quietly claimed territory. Chaos was the same way, silently watching over his woods, and only family or close friends knew where his woods were, he imagined this guy was the same way. A ghost except to those who knew where to look.
Crow chewed on his lip for a minute. Chances are if Raven ran, and he guessed she had, she may have ended up through here. And since this guy was as silent as a whisper and paid attention to detail, chances are he would know if she had come through here. He decided against asking for the moment, and shook his head, trying to put his worry aside. "with how good you are, I cant imagine any of them would know you were here, unless you wished it. That's a handy talent to have with some of the kitsu's showing up these days..."
A flurry of emotion passed his face briefly, he was cryptically referring to the kitsu that attacked his Raven, but it concerned him more and more like Rayne were showing up here and there. He found he was always coming upon conflicts and having to set certain ones in their place. Things wernt as peaceful as when he first left his 'Before'.

Riddick was quiet for a long moment. "I don't usually go looking for trouble, no. If trouble happens across my doorstep though... I tend to make sure it doesn't get a chance to go anywhere else." If anyone like Rayne had tried to mess with him, odds were that one of them wasn't going to be walking away from it. Riddick honestly hoped that Rayne himself never showed up here, at least not until Raven was ready to face him. He'd hate to have to take away her opportunity to take back what that p***k stole from her, but there was probably no way around it if it did happen.
Ah well, not really the best line of thought for the moment. Instead he decided to change the subject a bit. "So what brings you out to middle of BFE, if I might ask?"
((For the kids at home who don't know, BFE = butt-f*** Egypt, aka middle of nowhere. biggrin ))

Crow watched the stranger for a few minutes, he gathered he would easily take out an enemy, likely before the enemy even knew someone else was present. At the question he brought himself back to the moment. "sometimes it helps to clear ones head. Amid all the chaos it's helps to get away every now and again, find your center." he said with a light shrug.
In truth he was going bonkers with all the drama going on. There was always fighting going on at the valley, and family drama out the wazoo.
He sighed "sometimes you just need to breath" he said softly.
Remembering he wasn't alone, he shook himself and regarded the other male In front of him, and looked around the woods "how long have these woods been yours?" he asked conversationally, trying to distract his mind

Riddick scratched at his chin idly for a moment while he considered his next move. He wasn't sure if Crow realized the little game they were playing in not asking or telling anything about Raven. Really he didn't seem the type for that. Poor guy probably was out here trying to find some way to save his sanity. The things Raven had mentioned about their extended family...
Well there was a reason he lived alone.
"Not sure what it is with people looking for some peace and coming to these woods..." It was a very offhand and idle way of dropping the hint about Raven. He shrugged after that, still not quite willing to bring her up himself even if he was willing to nudge Crow toward asking. "I've been here for... couple of years now, I guess. You're not the first visitor I've had looking for a bit of sanity out here."

Crow tilted his head, and watched Riddick closely. He made a point of being able to gather information where others couldn't. He had to know these things to help others in need. He chuckled and gave a nod to Riddick.
"clever girl" he said softly, nodding his head approvingly.
"I see you've met my daughter...or at least seen her pass by" he stated, watching the warrior. At least he knew she was alright, and he could finally relax a bit. He didn't know where she was, but he trusted this guy, and that was enough for him.

Riddick smirked and shrugged. "Which one? I've met two of them. Though I admit, I haven't seen Alc around for a good year now. Probably off saving the world or something, she was into that kind of thing."
He rolled his shoulders a couple of times and finally stood up, motioning for Crow to follow him. It was more for the sake of courtesy than anything; his shoulders were feeling stiff and motion sounded better than continuing to sit.
"Hope you'll pardon me for not telling you where she went. She wants to get her head on straight, and she wants to do it on her own. Can't say I disagree with that." He shifted his head to glance sideways at Crow, eyes hidden behind dark lenses. "Kind of glad you stumbled across me, though. Would have been better for all involved if she'd expressed that to you before disappearing. But that's just my opinion."

Crow chuckled softly "all my girls are a bit headstrong. Never afraid to speak their minds" he said following the other male, he tilted his head up and gave a little jerk, dismissing the crow. His companion cawed in protest but knowing it wouldn't win against the kitsu eventually flew out of the woods, continuing his protests. Crow just chuckled softly.
Crow returned his attention to Riddick and shook his head softly. "I think if she had told us her plans, it would have been harder....after what happened to her, nobody wanted to leave her alone" he looked down, unhappy with how he delt with it. "in retrospect it hindered her healing and growing from it...I knew all along she has to learn to fly on her own...but he father part of me...loathed the idea of it. She's always been so sensitive and gentle..." he said softly, shaking his head again. "she's got it in her, the fire and strength. She's as strong as her mother....and just as feisty" he said with a grin.
He paused and looked to Riddick "when you saw her...was she alright?" he asked, he didn't want to see her, or intrude on her private reflections, but a little peace of mind wouldn't hurt...

"Mom must really be something else." In personality and appearance. Now that he'd seen Crow he knew a lot of the girls' more unique features had to come from Valefor. It was just enough to make Riddick want to seek her out down the road after Raven was ready to move on.
There was a pause for a moment after Riddick listened to Crow before he shrugged. "I kind of got that impression... and I guess it's neither here nor there now, it's already done." The sound of running water that had been in the background for a few minutes revealed its source as a small break in the trees revealed a small stream. "Maybe if I see her again soonish I'll let her know you dropped by. I think it'll be less weight on her mind if she knows she won't have to be hiding from you anymore."
Riddick stopped and looked back at Crow, nodding after a moment. "Aside from what you already know, and a bit of a tumble running through the trees here, she was fine."

Crow's smile grew wider at the mention on Valefor "oh she's quite an amazing female." speaking of his love was bittersweet, he missed her. But he shook off his personal turmoil and focused on the now.
Raven was spotted and she was safe. That was all that mattered. And now he could relax.
He stopped in his tracks and tilted his head "my goodness! I never introduced myself! My name is Crow" he inclined his head in greeting, and looked around at he stream. "you have a very beautiful territory. Very tactile but also self sustaining" he commented as he took in the scenery.
