I was just wondering if anyone else has a Mirena IUD? I've had one for a little over a year now and I honestly hate the thing but I'm putting up with it because I don't want to risk another pregnancy yet AND I don't have the funds to pay to have it removed.
For anyone who has it, do you ever feel like your uterus is trying to push it out? I always have a sharp pain in my cervix like its trying to come out. Also, does anyone else who still gets a period bleed for 20-25 days out of the month then not bleed at all the next month? Everytime I call the doctor, they say its 'normal'. I bleed for six months after I had it put it and now I bleed almost the entire month every other month. Its not a heavy flow or anything, though.

I have had that in me for almost three years. Spots of bleed is very very normal. But, if you feel discomfort or cramp for few months, means the IUD might be poking against your skin which can be a very dangerous.
I removed it because I WANTED to lose weight and it was harder to lose weight with IUD in me so I just said to myself "******** this" and went to get it removed and now I am very happy because since it got removed, I DROPPED 20lb weight and still counting.
I think you should get it removed because it is not normal to have cramp or pain oftenly. Only once or twice is very normal. I only felt pain once in three years.

Thanks for the input. I've been trying to find a place around here that doesn't want my soul to have it removed but apparently low income clinics = your soul because they want just as much, if not more than my normal OB. :/ And getting into Planned Parenthood to have it removed is a joke. They want..85, I think? But they're booked months and months in advance for anything that isn't an emergency. Ugh. :/

I swear, I lucked out. I called PP about...two weeks ago? Just a couple days after my last post and managed to get a random opening they had and got my Mirena out this past Friday. I already feel so much better. I was bloaty and stuff before I went in, and almost as soon as she removed it I felt so much better.
I felt a little dizzy after I got home but now today I feel great. I've got a bit more energy and the bleeding has lessened. I'm letting my body get rid of the hormones that are left over before I decide on another form of birth control besides condoms and spermicides.

I'm happy to hear you were able to get it removed. smile Can I mark this thread as resolved now, or did you need to leave it open for a bit longer?
