As a heavy wing sheltered Ambien she noted the warmth beneath this stallion's feathers. It was an oddity that she couldn't quite ignore and yet it wasn't alarming in the least. "Your feathers are peculiar... they're soft," she cooed in a soft voice, laced with the naivety of a small child. Her muzzle lightly brushed them as she craned her head back to get a feel with her soft nose. "Oh, I am so thrilled to see more. You say there is much more out there? Tell me, Zamyr, what else is there? What have you seen?" She asked him causally as her eyes continued to scan the area. She had misplaced her sister and been lost moments before. Up until this handsome Gryph stumbled upon her and her lonely panicking. He had happily agreed to meet her sister. Oh, how thrilled she was to introduce her new friend to her beloved sister. They were all going to be such great friends.

The hippogryph stallion chuckled lightly. "That's not peculiar." He corrected. "All of us have wings like this as do birds." What was peculiar was her fascination with them. There was so much he needed to show and teach her and so much he wanted to see himself. Conveniently this mare, this Ambien Rose, seemed to be up to the challenge of reaching out to grasp her full potential. Brilliant.
"I have seen a great spiral of sand fall. I have seen bright flashes come from rock. I have seen cacti rot and die and others flower and become food. I have seen jack rabbits, and owls that dig in the ground and lizards and oh, there is just so much!" He couldn't even begin to tell her of all that he had seen and it seemed that just in the last few days he had doubled his experiences. Just leaving the secluded desert area had opened up his world so much. He couldn't wait to share that feeling with his new traveling companion.
"So where is this sister of yours? We'll collect her and then be off." It was just that simple in his mind.

Straterra was a horrible sister. An awful sister. Just despicable. There was no penance for her transgressions. She should know better, as old as she was and will all she knew, that she could not turn her back on Ambien. She was too apt to wander off; too likley to get lost. As Straterra tossed her head around, whipping it left and right in panic, she scanned the land for her soft sister. No sign of her. Straterra might have made some guttural noise of panic – she couldn’t hear herself anymore. Her heart pounded fiercely in her head, blood turning the edges of her vision red. What if someone took her? They would pay dearly if a hair was out of place on Ambien’s perfect head. She didn’t hear herself growl deeply at the thought as she turned in place again.
Something moving caught her attention. A stallion. She’d almost missed him amongst the dead grasses that he blended in with. Had he taken Ambien? The idea lodged itself in Terra’s mind and stuck there; an unfortunate inheritance from Amelia. He must have. Why else would he be here? Straterra stood still for a moment, measuring him up from a distance. Did Straterra stand a chance. She was bull headed, but not foolish. She would not enter a fight she could nto win. Of course, she mused, lowering her head and flattening her ears against her head, there was no telling what she’d do with her sister on the line. Another growl she did not hear sounded from her throat.
As the stallion neared Straterra was able to make out another form next to him. She narrowed her eyes to make it out. Straterra recognized the pastel coloring of her sister almost immediately. Her legs had not yet been commanded to move, yet she was rocketing forward, breathing coming in short, ragged spurts. As fast as she ran she could not reach her sister and her abductor fast enough.
“Get away from her,” she hissed, head dropping almost level with the ground as she readied herself to strike. “I’ll kill you, let her go!”

When the hippogryph corrected her statement the young mare cocked her head to the side. "All of you have wings that look like these do?" she repeated his words to better understand. "My... what I wouldn't give for a trait like that," she cooed in a bewildered tone. Her slender tail swished from side to side, often a tell tale of her happiness. It was interesting talking to somebody who she wasn't familiar with. It left conversations wide open, new things to learn about the other. He shared his adventures with her and her light green eyes darted to and fro as she attempted to imagine such sights. "I do look forward to seeing such things for myself," she had her doubts that they could be so fantastic in person but at the same time she believed in Zamyr's words.
"My sister is about. I'm not sure where but she can't be far. I mean, I came from this way so it's only logical to say she's in this direction. She couldn't have passed me, correct?" She smiled at the darling stallion and returned to her scanning of the lands. As though Straterra was on cue her overbearing sister was bolting towards them, closing the gap between them quick enough to make Ambien's jaw drop in surprise. She had never seen Terra move like that. A smile tugged at her lips none the less as she turned to greet her sweet sister, "Terra! I-" she began her happy words but her joyous expression dropped the moment threats fell from Straterra's lips. "Terra! That is no way to speak to a friend," she took a quick side step to Zamyr and clung to his side it seemed. "This is Zamyr. He means me no harm. He wants to show me thinks. Wonderful things... like him," she turned her eyes and focused them on his odd features, as though he was a wonder of the world that she had discovered.

"Well she could have." He replied clicking his beak in thought. There was quite a lot of room for a person to slip by without being seen. Given what he had been led to believe about the nature of the two's relationship, however, the odds leaned towards supporting Ambien's logic. He smiled back as best as he could with his bird like features, "But, I'd say-" His words cut off quickly as Ambien's jaw dropped. "What is it?" He turned his head as he spoke and caught sight of something tearing towards them with alarming speed. So this was her sister.
For one fleeting moment he thought the speeding mare was just overjoyed to see her sister. Then there were threats of death.
Zamyr squawked indignantly as he pulled a clawed foreleg up. Whether he was preparing to flee or slash at the mare was knowledge privy to him and his talons. He didn't put his foot back on the ground even when he could feel Ambien draw in near. As much as he appreciated the gesture he still wasn't entirely sure her words would stop that charging bull of a mare.
His initial judgement of Ambien's sister? Rash and violent. He was glad he'd met Ambien first. She was actually something worth meeting. He could do without the other one and her promise of death.

Though Ambien had named Zamyr a friend, Straterra did not hear it. She only heard the pounding of the blood in her ears and her own, strange growls. She paced in front of the pair, unable to attack for fear of hitting her sister. Back and forth, back and forth until her vision swam. Oh, she could just imagine the "wonderful things" this monster would show her sister. It made her snap her jaws at him, too far to make anyone flinch. Her jaws clashed together painfully twince, three times before she went back to her pacing.
"Oh yes," she finally spat, her head low to the ground. "And what wonderful things did you have in mind for my precious sister? A dank cave? Those evil talons? Or perhaps something far more nefarious." She snapped again, her tail lashing back and forth. "No. Ambien, we're going home. Now." At her command, Straterra raised her head and ceased her pacing. "I rather pride myself on the nice, fat berries I gathered while you were away. I can't think of anyone better to share them with." She grinned warmly at her sister, winking with her last words.
