He padded thought the undergrowth of the trees that night looking once more for prey of any sort. Hunting had become a bit more of a lengthy trip the more his father ate and beckoned to be fed. Some day.. he'd rip that old wolf's jugular out and then he'd move the pack himself to a more.... bountiful hunting land. For now he had to play along.. bide his time.
His tail flicked as he looked around for any signs of prey in the area. There were faint hints of deer and other animals.. but what fun were those when you always knew how it'd end? Even the act of chasing them and torturing the poor things before snuffing out their lives was becoming dull.. He needed something different once again to spark his interest.
Shifting easily from his massive hulking form to his smaller cat like form, he leaped into a tree and walked along the branch a bit till he found a nice place to stretch out and lay watching the area for anything of interest to cross his view.

Finally! Sheria had managed to escape the watchful eyes of the pack for more than a few minutes and had made it in to the outskirts of the forest. It had become tiring listening to them ramble on all the time with no break to just have fun and be a child, a victim to the older members of the packs lectures and 'teachings' and frankly, she couldn't give a hoot that her future had been sold off because she had a 'job' that she needed to do. That was the future and there was nothing like the present to just enjoy! She was to assassinate one of the imps so they could end their little parade of angels and the threat that they posed. Why couldn't they all just get along? It was too much hassle! She loved her pack dearly but the alpha title... Came with too much responsibility and she wasn't sure she could be what they wanted them to be. That's why she was here, to get away and make the most of the timke she had before they caught her and give her a good scolding. With nearby rustles of bushes, her ears flickered gently, eyes slid to the side. A rabbit? Her attention was caught, she lowered to the ground and shuffled bit by bit trying not to create too much noise. There. She could see it's brown silky fur, standing out within the moonlight all too easily with no idea that it was being watched. She poked her nose in to the bush, raised her knee's to get ready to pounce- Then it lifted it's nose, looked up and bolted. "I didn't even make a noise that time!" She whined, ears falling back to her head. Maybe she just wasn't cut out for this wolf business, although she hadn't realized that the fact the rabbit had run was because there was another, more meaner predator lurking.

He smelled the rabbit and even spotted it as it skittered off. His attention however was mostly captured by the filly that had been perusing it and obviously seemed angered in the fact that her quarry had gotten away. His ears perked and he purred to himself in delight. Wonderful.. a foal who'd wandered from it's parents stupidly. His blue tail flopped down and swished catching the moonlight.
This had been what he'd been looking for.. Another soquili to torture. Something to play his little game of cat and mouse that hat it's twisted end. Oh how he'd enjoy hearing this foal's cries and pleads for mercy. But oh-ho.. he wouldn't give it to her.. he'd give her parents a good reason to watch their foals more closely.. Sure he'd chase her and run her down till she could scantly run another step then slowly.. meticulously.. he'd hurt her.. then once he'd had his fun.. he'd leave her lifeless form for her parents to find.

If it was her brother, he would have smelled the predator from a mile away however it was only as the rabbit faded in to the darkness beyond the point of being able to spy a single spit of colour on it, the scent soon caught her nostrils. It made them large in alarm, her eyes lifted catching a glimpse of blinding icy blue belonging to a slim, snake like tail which lead to her spotting who had already spied her and scared off her own toy. A large cat, unlike she had ever seen before in the forest. Her ears raised and climbed to her feet curious of the other animal.
"Hello there! Are you out hunting too?" She called up to him, a smile growing across her lips. She was quite naive and oblivious to danger having been sheltered and watched all the time by her family. They had told her that the outside world was cold, dangerous and only someday would she truly understand the importance of the pack and when she was older and wiser how to act as a lone wolf when needed. She didn't think their home would consist of those dangers but, as it turned out she was wrong to assume.
"Maybe we could hunt together?" She offered, in hope that she may of had a chance at gaining a friend outside the pack. She drew nearer to the tree that he was laying in and stretched her neck back, trying to keep a good eye over him.

Yawning nonchalantly, he stretched as he stood and scratched at the limb before dropping down to the ground and circling the filly. Oh how stupid this one one.. indeed this should prove to be quite entertaining indeed. A malicious smirk crawled over his maw as he sat in front of the filly, eyes narrowing as he breathed in her scent. "Now what might we have here..." His voice was deep, dark and creepy.. rough like sand paper to the ears and holding a hint of a purr to it as he spoke. "A lost little filly unaware to the cruelties that await her... Hunt you say.. aye.. I've been hunting.. waiting for something and I believe it just unwittingly stumbled my way."
His claws scratched into the ground some. "I would not be caught dead hunting with your kind you sniveling little whelp. Specially since it is you that has become my prey." He purred at the thought and leaning out, licked her. "Such a tasty little morsel.." He purred once more raising a paw and extending his claws. It was his intent to make her run. he wanted the chase.

Sheria watched his movements and was growing more excited as she believed he was jumping down to accept her offer and hunt with her. The circling part was something she thought to be studying until his presence grew on her, it was eerie and coated in a darkness she had grown accustomed to on occassion where her mother and other pack members true nature slipped out around her. She backed up, now feeling her nerves tingle, her spine curve, she was on edge and she could see where this was going.
Reality was starting to dawn on her. She had not met a friend, a stranger one that was eying her up as a nice, tasty treat. Her wolf senses were at their best now and she had no pack behind her. She remembered what Shade was telling her about the pack being one and suddenly regretted ever thinking differently having grown bored of their constant rambling but all they had been doing were looking out for her;preparing her for the worst.
His voice scared her, tail sliding between her legs, eyes widened in fright as his rough voice scraped like nails through her ears she figured it was time to run, escape this fate. She was heir and she would destroy plans that awaited if anything was to happen to her. As he out stretched a terrorfying paw, she kicked off the dirt, twisted and did what the wise bunny did, dodging tree's, tumbling through the underbush and in to the darker depths of the forest.
Would he find her? Which way was home? She was too panicked to stay focused, to think clearly.

A sinister smirk played on his maw as he set off on chase. This was what he wanted.. This was what he enjoyed the most. Shifting from the smaller cat form to his soquili one, he followed her scent. He'd grown up tracking his prey and her scent was fresh. It wasn't long and he'd found her hiding spot. "Come now.. you don't honestly thing to escape me there do you? How pathetic." He stepped on some brush hearing it crack and snap below him.

Sheria had skidded to a halt and twisted her head left and right. Where could she hide? A bush! If she crouched low enough, then maybe he wouldn't find her. That's right. Excluding the fact he could pick up her scent she budged in to the bush, wishing her markings were green so she could easily camoflauge herself within the foilage, as she found a small crack to peak through to see if he was coming or not. She was just glad she had dark colours painting over her sleek grey body; it would help, somewhat - so she thought.
What came in to view was not the cat that she had seen before but a horse and in the mistake she lifted her head, then as she took a closer look, she saw that the markings were the same and the pelt he wore was that of a cat... How? She couldn't comprehend how he could transform like that, was that even possible? She ducked quickly although soon came to see that it just wasn't enough. He was speaking to her and in the fright she froze, unsure what to do. If running would be enough, if it was a bluff and she didn't move then maybe she would be safe.
'What do I do?' She though inwardly, eyes growing wider by the second at the crack of the bush as he slowly placed one hoof in to it. 'I wish my mother or shade, someone was here!' She could feel the bush rattling with her body, every part of her was on edge, anxious and yet she couldn't do anything. He had her scent and even more so her breath was so loud and her heart was pounding in her ears. She waited, frozen in place wondering what the creature would do to her.

Heziah grinned wide as he caught the brief glimpse of a head popping up then back down out of the corner of his eye. His head snapped in the direction it had come from and he slowly made his way towards it. "Come now poppet... don't make his any harder on yourself.. Cat's love such games but in the end we also love to eat..." Malice dripped off his every word as he drew closer, his paws finding their was as noisily a path as possible. this was his game.. making all this noise.. he could hear her breath... relishing in the terrific sound of terror it had. It was all music to his ears.

He was coming closer. With every, horrifying crush and crack of twigs snapping, leaves crumbling and terrain being pressed further in to the earth, her ears twitched and she sunk lower and lower. She could almost feel the blazing heat of the air coming from his nostrils when she couldn't take it anymore, she was going to go crazy in this state of suspense! There. He said it! He was going to eat her and if she didn't do something and quick then she was just waiting to be sliced in to delicious bite sized pieces and made a snack of. She jumped up to her hooves in a heartbeat and growled in frustration.
"If you're going to eat someone then you should hurry up about it! You're so annoying!" She yelled, she wasn't sure where it came from but she was bubbling with anger now. The stress of the wait whilst his steps had taken their jolly sweet time about it had been overwhelming and she was definitely learning a valuable lesson on how to make someone brick themselves and grow thoroughly livid at the same time - and back to being scared again. He was practically in her face now. Almost touching muzzles she made one loud yelp and jumped backwards, her rump hitting a tree just frightened her even more.
With a sharp turn she bolted further in to the darkness. She didn't care where she ended up or how long it took but she refused to be eaten by an overgrown cat! Or just... Simply eaten at all. It didn't sound appealing.

His smirk turned to one of amusement in the filly's moment of spunk but it was always the same.. spunk.. then fear and yet another joyous chase. Like a cat.. he's catch his prey.. let it go then catch it and let it go again and again till he'd grown tired of the game and simply eaten it.. then her grew to enjoy torturing the poor things before his live meal. Seeing the filly bump into the tree in her terror and then scamper off only drove this primal instinct of his. Setting off in chase after her, he made sure not to be too fast that he'd catch her right away once more.. no he wasn't through playing just yet...

She was so stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid! How did she let this happen? 'Oh hey mr kitty how about we hunt together? I'm the hunt? Wait a minute... Gah!' She thought, attacking herself within her thoughts as her eyes scanned every visible tree and bush although it was too late to hide he was on her tail and every corner she took, every log she jumped over he wasn't far behind. She felt like something was wrong, he was so agile that one swift, clean pounce was all that it would take to tackle her down and be left helpless beneath his power. So why hadn't he done that already? Was he... Playing with her?
Sheria gulped. If he was playing with her and taking his time about it then what would eventually happen when she couldn't run anymore or when he had enough of this silly hunt? She dared not think and now she felt as if she could only pray. Catching her hoof on a log she toppled over herself and rolled across the ground in a heap, watching as the forest floor spiralled above her and coated her in dirt and debris. It took her a moment to catch what had happened, dizzy from the tumble. She lifted her head, slowly grasping reality again as the moonlight caught the figure in his ghostly appeal.
Clambering back to her feet she barely escaped what was coming her way, her legs ached from running, her throat was dry from her deep breathes and now it felt dry and raspy. She finally stopped and dropped to the ground on her knees. She had done all she could, there was no escape...

Grinning sadistically, he drew closer till finally, he stood over the now run down filly. His fangs glistened in the moonlight as did his claws as he raised a paw intent on starting the first scratch of the torture. He'd made her run.. now he wanted to make her bleed. Lowering his head, he chuckled darkly in her face. "Still... for one with such spunk... you still couldn't outrun the inevitable... You'll feel more pain though.. just you wait. and just when you think it's over.. I'll eat you.. still live and wriggling."

Sheria never knew that there was a feeling so harsh in the world, to feel truly weak and helpless. To be powerless and inches away from complete pain with no way out. At deaths door. The pack had protected her from this and she could see why they wanted her to be strong, to learn. Maybe if she had paid more attention she wouldn't be in this situation. The mess of all messes. She was too tired to care what he was going to do with her, too frightened and worn down to struggle all that was left to do was take the pain until it was over. What a cruel world, how could anyone do that to someone? To simply want to end a life and endure all their suffering until the very last breath and be proud of it? It was survival of the fittest and she didn't have the upperhand. She looked up weakly at the predator raising his paw, listening to his malicious voice filled of evil. There was no mercy, he was a born bred killer and he was enjoying every minute of it. Had already savoured every second and after her there would be more he would torture. 'Any last words, Sheria?' If he wasn't going to ask the question then she would ask herself. "Just one.." She muttered aloud and turned her eyes to the sky, the moon and then closed them; mouth agape a lonely, painful howl left her lips voicing a plea for help and a cry of uncertainty. Shadow had been very angry at the fact nobody had been watching her daughter. Had she to do everything? Were they not capable of responsabilities for such a short period of time? She growled, her tail ferociously slashed against branches as she marched throughout the forest, splintering trees and scaring all presences nearby as warnings reached their ears. Nothing could happen to her child, she worked too hard and had come too far to let everything fail in one night. She had caught her scent easily and tracked it to prints within the terrain, bushes were scruffed up and beaten from what looked like a chase. The others accompanying what seemed to be Sheria's were much bigger and effortless. A bad feeling collected in her stomach, ears stretched forward her eyes narrowed in to slits and as it came, the howl from her child, it proved her instincts were right. She was in trouble, big trouble and if she wanted to save her she had to act fast. Kicking off the ground, Lea swiftly and easily made her way through the shadows, calculating the direction of the prints, the slightest sounds and the scents that still smothered this patch of land. Soundless and carefully making her way through, she eyed an open area, the moonlight shone directly down upon two figures, one an icy blue, strong, confident and the other small, fragile and broken. Curious she stayed silent and halted, watching and waiting. Her daughter would have already been dead by now if the skinwalker had wanted her to be and searching the filly's frame she saw a piece of herself in her which sparked hope. A distant memory which shaped who she would be for the rest of her days. A devilish grin crossed her lips, eyes fiery and filled with delight. One wouldn't expect a mother to be so calm and collected whilst her young one was about to be terrorised but she could see where this was leading. She wouldn't let him kill her, no, she would stop this reckless act before that would happen but for now, she would watch and wait in hope that this was what she needed to realize what the world really was and hoped it would enlighten her future as the leader of the pack. A lesson that indeed needed to be learned. Unfortunately, it just had to be the hard way.

He brought his paw down across her pelt with enough slow force as to scratch the filly, not deep enough to shred no, but it was enough to cause pain.. and a red trail to follow after his claw. the metallic scent of blood lifted into the air, filling his nostrils igniting something even darker within his soul. Malice.. pure unadulterated evil flashed in his eyes as his fur bristled up. It was coming clear that he wasn't just evil and a killer.. no.. he had a twisted love for this sort of thing. The kind that sets even some of the less evil who still have a smidgen of conscious on edge when they're around his sort of kind.
The fact that there was now another's scent in the area hadn't phased him one bit. He was too engrossed in the task at hand. Leaning down, he licked the blood from his paw and flashed his teeth bearing them with a deep rumbling of a chuckle that could make anyone's blood run cold.
