Shortly after nursing his shin, while thinking that damn Gunn, Zephyr crossed the surroundings to... where was he? This carelessness wasn't like him, feeling unsettled by his unusual inattention when he was usually so observant. He should have asked one of the particular Zodiacs before wandering off -- but he was already pushing himself to the limit. He didn't know what he was supposed to do here. Interact with civilians? With the other senshi here, Zephyr's presence wasn't required.

He came to an abandoned room, his blue eyes looking back and forth before he dehenshined. He would resume his senshi persona later but for now, he needed to merely be himself. Zephyr was still battling between his identity although he would never deign to admit it. Was he Zephyr? Or was he Senri Cross?

He had only been to Zephyr and Flora as far as past worlds went.. He slowly trailed his finger upon the dusty walls having to acknowledge that others existed as well.

What exactly was happening?
PostPosted: Wed Sep 14, 2011 8:16 pm

The Princess, as always, was checking the rooms in the Castle, just in case a civilian got lost, and just in case there was something of interest. There were many many rooms that she hadn't yet explored; some which she vaguely remembered and some which she didn't. It was difficult too, to remember who exactly lived in the plentiful rooms, who she had grown up with besides the Seasons, the Zodiacs and Zue. While it was sad to think about it, she brushed it off, and as she walked, she would pause in her steps to see if she could find a hidden passageway.

She had been staring at a portrait on the walls, touching the bricks in an attempt to remember how she could make it swing open. It didn't work, and Chronos wondered if she was looking at the wrong portrait. It was certainly very plausible that she had gotten things muddled up. She tore her eyes away from it and stared into the opposite room, a gasp emitting from her lips as she recognized who was inside. "Senri?"

...Oh, darn it. The Princess clapped her hand over her mouth. He wouldn't recognize her in return, not when she was in her Senshi form. Maybe he hadn't heard what she had inadvertently let slip? "I don't remember you being here." She said quickly, plastering a smile on her face as she walked towards him. "Do you live at the other Outposts?" There couldn't be new civilians wandering about again, right?

Senri turned around at the mention of his name, his blue ponytail swinging in the wind. When he was greeted with the sight of the princess, the princess that Flora had adored, not to mention having fallen on him at the Elysion battle -- he felt his lips curve into a sardonic smile. Live? Not exactly. "I don't." He answered in response to her question.

"If you don't remember me, that would make sense, wouldn't it? Seeing as how I just arrived." He didn't need to tell her by Flora or with Gunn, seeing as how they had both disappeared.

He leaned against a wall, crossing his arms over his chest. "You don't remember me.." He trailed off, leaving her to think that they would put this topic aside. But he continued with, "But you do know me, don't you?" It was a first for another senshi to know his civilian idenity other than those he purpose revealed it to. Flora and Gunn for instance. But he didn't know Princess Chronos. He didn't sound particularly concerned but looks were deceiving.

He took a step, another step, and placed his hand on the painting behind Chronos. "So why don't we acquaint ourselves with each other?" He could analyze the suspects in his mind but if they were senshi, then it was no use to think about it. He already knew that he wouldn't come up with an answer.

That didn't make sense. If he wasn't residing at the other Outposts, it meant that he was residing here and Chronos would at least remember faces that were wandering around her Outpost. Especially when it was someone she knew.

Just. Arrived? Was there another wave of civilians being pulled to the Surrounding again? "Did anyone else come with you?" If they did, they had to make plans to accommodate more civilians, although at least they were safe in the Castle now. Right? It was rather confusing and it made her head hurt. Or maybe it was because she hadn't been getting enough sleep lately...

Oh dear. He had heard her speak his name. Chronos racked her mind, trying to figure out a way to somehow fix the problem. Did she know anyone who knew Senri? Oh wait. "Well, you play the piano, yes? I've heard of you in those circles." Vague, but believable. Right? Or should she have mentioned the fact that he was a model that someone she knew had pointed out to her? But neither Eve nor Elke had shoved that sort of magazines to her before.

"I'm Princess Chronos of the Zodiacs." She said, giving him a small curtsy.

Senri retreated, telling her that he would accept her answer.. for now. Although both were rather plausible answers, the latter answer much more probable. But the first answer was intriguing, to say the least.

"Seeing as how you've provided your identity," There was a light emphasis on identity, "I'll return the favor."

"I am not one of your civilians." Since Chronos seemed rather worried about it, Zephyr didn't see the need to prolong it. He wasn't in the habit of reassuring people but he could only imagine the toll that the events had taken on the princess. He continued in what should have been a proud tone but it was part dry humor and questioning..? "I'm what you would call a .. senshi?" He held up his black and blue henshin pen, smiling. He wasn't used to introducing himself as a senshi though.

"I'm Sailor Zephyr. Senshi of Wind." He bent down on one knee, one hand crossing his chest in a formal bow towards the Princess. He owed no allegiance to her but he did admire her for her fortitude in this crisis. There were few girls, especially those as young as Chronos, who wouldn't break down and end up crying. He was beginning to see why Flora served her, even if he wasn't particularly fond of serving others.

"In fact, Eve might have mentioned it."

None of the Zodiacs or Seasons should ever reveal their civilian identities to the civilians here. That was what Princess Chronos firmly believed and advocated, for when they did eventually get them back to Destiny City, the word might be spread and put them all in danger. The Zodiac Court had died once in this lifetime. She would not let it happen again. They could not be as lucky as to have Barren Pines bring them back from the dead.

"You're not?" Chronos looked surprised, her expression slowly shifing into understanding as he confirmed her suspicion. A senshi! Now that made sense! She did certainly feel much better that there hadn't been another wave of civilians appearing in the Surrounding.

"Oh." The Princess murmured as he knelt and introduced himself. Wait. Senri was Zephyr? Senri Cross? Zephyr, the one Flora had constantly talked about so flusteredly? "You're Flora's Zephyr?" Was what she managed to blurt out as she bent to usher him to rise. "Wow, I... well yes, she did mention it. Many times. I have never heard her talk about someone the way she talked about you before." Hey, Senri was a nice person! Chronos didn't exactly see why Eve had her reservations...

"You must be wondering who I am." She realized. "I guess I can tell you that you know me as Serenade Soriano." It would definitely click in his mind; the green-hair, the cerise eyes, the gentle smile...

"Zephyr, yes."

"Flora's Zephyr, yes."

"But I am not Flora's." There was a hint of an amused smile. Unfortunately, Senri didn't belong to any girl.

"It's nice to me-" He began for the sake of politeness but he abruptly stopped. "Serenade..?" Recognition flickered in his eyes but his face was completely blank. It was very odd for the normally reassured male.

The Serenade Soriano? Disbelief and shock ran through his mind. Senri had encountered her a few times in similar circles, including the piano, which would explain her earlier reference. Of course Flora never elaborated on her princess's name so there was no way for the model to connect her Serenade to the Serenade he knew. But he would have never taken her to be a senshi as well. Much less a princess, although she certainly had the mannerisms to do so.

"W-w-wait." He held out a staying hand, trying to comprehend this. Now it was Senri's turn to lean, while facing, against the wall, still trying to compose himself. Would he have to suspect everybody of being a senshi now? Or conversely, a negaverse? What sort of world was this? He had never thought the quiet girl next to him would be the same one fighting alongside of him.

He finally turned to face Chronos, a palm on his forehead feeling like a headache would be coming on, his hands raking through his bangs in dishevel. His head tilted up, his glance dropping downwards to stare at the royal senshi through his blue locks. He asked, partly in resignation, "Is there anybody else I should know about? Or anything else? Feel free to share."

Okay, maybe Flora's Zephyr wasn't exactly the right phrase to describe it, since Flora had pretty much vehemently denied that there would be anything between them, despite the past. Chronos thought she was being too stubborn because she did think Senri and Eve could make a good couple. Why not? All she wanted was to see her Court happy, and if they did meet someone nice, she was all for it.

She waited for him patiently to get over his surprise. After all, she too had been taken aback upon knowing that the Senri Cross she knew was the Zephyr Flora had constantly talked about. After all, Eve had probably not known that Serenade and Senri were acquainted.

"You know who Eve is." The Princess said simply with a smile. That was obvious enough. "I do not know if you are familiar with the civilian identities of any of my Court. Even if you do, I will leave it up to them to reveal themselves to you as they please. It is not my jurisdiction to share what others may choose to keep secret." It was her honor as the Zodiac Princess, to respect the private decisions of those in her Court. The only identity she would reveal was her own.

"Understood." Senri, now restored to good humor, saluted the princess. "Do you mind if I call you princess in your current form?" Princess was more of the form of endearment, Senri feeling it was far too formal to call her Princess Chronos.

Speaking of Eve, Senri brought up a topic that concerned the both of them. "Judging from your reaction, presumably, Eve's told you about her past life memories." He could safetly assume that Chronos knew the entire story by now. It was clear that he didn't share the same horrified sentiments as the handmaiden did. Instead, judging from his relaxed posture, Senri didn't see it as a problem.

But he didn't seem to be taking it seriously either.

"What do you think?" He crossed his arms over his chest and sighed. He didn't necessarily hold the same view that Eve did. Their past lives did not determine their present lives. They were different people. Flora surely should have realized it as well. Eve was not Fleur.

"You can call me Chronos, if you want." She offered. After all, she was not his Princess. Either way, she didn't exactly mind; it was up to him what he wanted to call her. As long as it wasn't her civilian name, of course.

A smile tugged on the corner of her lips, remembering when Eve had barged in the middle of her practice and had been such a whirlwind of words. "She did. It took her a while," as Serenade had sat patiently waiting for her to calm down, "to coherently form her sentences to give me a proper explanation as to why she was so flustered." And who knew that the cause of it was someone that Chronos herself actually knew!

She blinked at him. Was he asking her to give him advice? Chronos wasn't terribly good at this. Eon and her had been predestined too, but that had come so naturally that she hadn't even thought to fight it. "I think it doesn't hurt to try! I told Flora the same thing, after all." To which her Handmaiden had thrown her an incredulous look. "I mean, both of you are nice people and I wouldn't mind if you two did get together. Seize the chance before you lose it and regret it forever." Her eyes grew sad as she thought about Eon, whom she very well would never see again. "Trust me, Senri. Life; especially since we're Senshi, is too short for regrets, to let the person you love slip away."

"As expected of you, Serenade." Senri indulged in regarding Serenade as his friend than a princess. Senri had never asked, Serenade had never answered, but one had the unspoken feeling that Serenade knew the loss of someone or something precious to her. It wasn't a topic you could broach upon easily. it was only confirmed with Chrono's sad glance.

"Is that how it looks? Are we in love?" A wry smile touched his lips, closing his eyes. He couldn't help but feel that Zephyr in the past had failed Fleur. The fact alone that she had died was enough proof of that. Even if they were in love, what right did he have to stay with her now? But the sign of emotion disappeared as Senri looked up to grin at Chronos. "Sorry, I'm not really the type of guy to commit." One couldn't say much for Senri when he had a different girl in bed every week. Unlike Eve who had commitment issues, Senri simply enjoyed the variety.

"Besides, I'm not the one Flora needs."

"Eve is scared of promises." He wondered if he was betraying Eve's feelings by saying so.. but it was important for Chronos to realize why Senri wasn't the one. "She needs somebody to make promises. Someone who can show her that happy endings do exist."

"I'm more of a bad guy myself. Although it actually hurts to say that, " Perhaps not that much from Senri's easy expression. Insults rolled off him like water.

"Expected?" Chronos echoed in puzzlement. "What is?" That she was a Princess? That she would give that sort of advice?

"I don't know." She told him honestly. "I'm not very good at judging this sort of things." This, after all, was the girl that was largely ignorant that there were some who had crushes on her. In Barren Pines, when she had forgotten Ally, she had been confused to what exactly was love and had to ask Ms Johnson. "It's something only you two can figure out on your own and no one else can tell you what you should feel." Love was too sacred for that. Chronos was no matchmaker; she simply let things go with the flow, and simply supported it when Leo and Virgo had ended up together.

"Well, you seem to know her better than I do." She tilted her head, giving him a slight smile. Eve had never shared such inner turmoil with her Princess before. Perhaps she had not wanted Chronos to worry. "I mean, Eve always seems so optimistic. So... full of life." She was the Senshi of Spring, after all! "I always thought she was just being headstrong." Stubbornly refusing to give in, to fight for what she wanted, just like how the new blossoms of spring would fight to emerge from the frost of winter.

"Senri..." Chronos moved forward to place a hand on his shoulder. "I don't think you're a bad guy. I knew a man once," her breath caught slightly at the thought of him, his caramel brown hair, his dark blue eyes, but she continued, "who always thought he was inadequate. But he fought for the girl he loved, because he knew she needed him by her side. And in the end, he made the most selfless decision one could ever make," and at remembering that sacrifice, she bit her lip, willing the tears not to fall.

"Because he loved her, and that made him more than adequate in everyone's eyes. And she always thought he was perfect, from the very beginning, despite what he thought about himself." She finished and took a deep breath. Perhaps it seemed to go a bit off, but what she was trying to say that they would never know until they did try. Not to give up, to be always left wondering about what could have been.

"You don't know me Serenade." Senri whispered softly. He wasn't like other senshi who fought to save others, who wanted to save others. He let people, strangers in his eyes, die having felt no remorse for their fate. To this day, he felt no regret for his past actions. But he wouldn't lie to Chronos or Flora if they chose to ask. He wouldn't pretend that he was something he was not.

Besides, Senri had never really liked the 'hero' title. But if they had a choice.. he would never let Chronos, Flora, or even Gunn to shoulder the burden of death. He was just callous enough to take on that heavy weight upon his own shoulders. He was the type of person who would accomplish his goals by any means necessary. Even if it meant the death of others.

Chronos didn't need to elaborate for Senri to understand her story. He now understood her advice, the reason behind her advice. "It's all right Chronos." He closed over her hand on his shoulder with his gloved ones, "I promise that it won't end that way."

He didn't offer any other consolation, knowing that some scars would never heal. Physical scars would eventually disappear but emotional scars would remain.

Letting go of her hand, he walked over the window overlooking the outpost, focusing his gaze on the sky of the surrounding. "I'm different." He turned around to grin at Chronos, leaning back with his elbows resting on the windowsill. It was a smile that one was never quite sure if it was sincere when it came to the model, "In every way possible." He was much too selfish, much too confident in himself. But Senri rather liked that part about himself.

"You can cry. I'll keep it a secret. If anybody comes in, you can simply blame me for making you cry." After all, it wasn't so far from the truth.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 25, 2011 9:01 am

"I would like to think that what I know of you is enough." Chronos replied in return, a sad smile on her face. But Senri Cross was just a side to this man who also called himself Sailor Zephyr, just like how Serenade Soriano could not be complete without Princess Chronos. They were two halves of the same whole, but the line between each half was always blurry, always uncertain to distinguish where one ended and one began. "But this," she gestured to her outfit, "changes us more than we could have ever imagined. It brings out a side of us, teaches us new things we never knew about ourselves."

"But you are a good person." After all, he had decided to respond to the distress call, decided to come and help them out. And for that, the Princess of the Zodiacs was grateful. It was the thought that counted. Always, and it was a debt she would always remember. "I believe that with all my heart." Or else, Fleur would not have chosen him back then. They might argue with her that past selves were different, but there were similarities that remained. If they weren't, their memories wouldn't unlock a longing in them to remember.

"Thank you." She told him. It comforted her, having his promise, just to know that he would try. Now what was left was to slowly ease Flora into the same understanding as well and to hope for the best.

Princess Chronos took a deep breath and shook her head, managing a smile. "I'll be fine." There had been days where she had cried her eyes out while thinking about Eon; in Zue's arms, alone in her room, sometimes even in the midst of her practice, when emotions would unexpectedly overtake her completely. But now was not the time to break down. She was a stronger Princess now, different from when she had first emerged from Barren Pines, awkward and adjusting. "Don't worry. Flora's around on the first floor... and the other Zodiacs aren't nearby." It was something she could say with the utmost confidence.

There was a small sigh as she brushed away those unhappy thoughts and tilted her head at Senri. "I imagine this is taking time away from piano practice from you as well-- Oh!" A thought suddenly struck her and Chronos straightened up, eyes shining. "Would you like to see something?"

Senri tilted his head with a hint of an amused smile. "Feel free to lead the way princess."

"Then, would you mind explaining the situation afterwards?" Unfortunately, the distress call offered Zephyr little information about the current situation that the Zodiacs, and other senshi, faced.
