Pre-Academy Arc
Kiyoshi was not always a Mist Shinobi; he once lived in the small village known as “The Village Hidden in Eternal Night”. It is a small village in the Land of Hot Water, a small and corrupt village. Kiyoshi’s parents were part of the government which was ruled by a ruthless dictator. Though it wasn’t the happiest of villages Kiyoshi was very happy with his parents. When the dictator died his parents tired to push for a democratic government where the leader was elected. The rest of the officials didn’t want to change, especially since Kiyoshi’s parents were beloved by the people. The officials needed to get rid of them, so they planted evidence suggesting the previous leader was murdered. The evidence also pointed in the direction that it was Kiyoshi’s parents who did it. The officials bribed the police to search his house and to plant a weapon with the leader’s blood on it. When it was found all three of them were brought in and were going to hang for murder.
The people couldn’t believe this and were skeptical of the evidence. The officials made a deal that if Kiyoshi’s parents plead guilty Kiyoshi would be spared, they agreed and their bodies hung for it. This is one of the only times in Kiyoshi’s life where he dropped down and cried in despair, with good reason though. Kiyoshi wanted to cut them down and give them a proper burial but it was against the law, traitors didn’t deserve that luxury and doing such was punishable by the same fate. Kiyoshi couldn’t help it they were his parents so in the middle of the night he snuck into the village square and cut them down and buried them in his backyard before fleeing the village. Kiyoshi took what little he had and disappeared into the country side. He did odd jobs trying to make a living but it proved to be too unstable. The money was running low and keeping a place proved harder and harder. Kiyoshi took what little money he had and bought some ninja tools and headed to the nearest village looking to start a new life.
