Steven had slowly, but surely become a bit overwrought and anguished for no discernible reason other than his cellphone alarm alerted him of something. Obviously there was no service in space, but the internal alarm was set to keep a very specific schedule for something, and whatever it was, it was making him panic.
Unfortunately this happened shortly after he had taken an opportunity to explode the Aquarius outpost and he quickly found himself not only isolated from people he know, but scenery he'd come to find familiar.
He quickly found himself on a half exploring mission, half frantic search. He needed a senshi! Or... someone who could go back to Destiny City. But that was pretty much just senshi, right? Still, he needed one. Preferably a sympathetic one.
It was a matter of life and death, now.

The kitchens at Aquarius Outpost had seen more use in the past few days than they had in the years they had been in service, all those centuries ago. Leo's kitchens were the place to go for real food, but the pantries were well-stocked with quick snacks that required little to no preparation, for people who didn't want to make the trek three times a day. The quality of the food left something to be desired, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Aquarius squinted at a container of something that looked like dried apricots, if apricots were pink, and wondered how desperate she was.
A beeping sound came from behind her. Startled, Aquarius turned around, but managed to keep her hold on the container. Later, she would be proud of herself for not dropping it. Now, she just wanted to see what the beeping was. It appeared to be a phone, held by a rather panicked looking guy. She raised an eyebrow, put down the dried fruit, and pointed to the phone.
"Do you really get service with that thing?" she asked amiably, sure that whatever his problem was, he'd share it if he wanted to.

"Oh, no," Steven said, glancing down at it pathetically before stuffing it back in his pocket. If it did that would make things so much easier.
"I just use it's internal alarm," He said before glancing Aquarius up and down and awkwardly looking to the side as he tried to figure out how to cut to the chase. She seemed nice! But, still, he felt silly for his plight. People were in danger of starving or being attacked and here he was worrying about something that, while he found it extremely important, probably seemed really stupid to an outsider.
"Um, you can poof back and forth to Destiny City, right? Um, would it be... really bad to ask for a favor? It's kind of really important, though," He said, slowly trying to work his way up to the point. Still, he was nervous. And apparently when he's nervous he says really a lot.

"Well, good to know." Not that Aquarius thought there were cell towers in space, but considering she used her phone to get there, anything was possible. With that settled, she squinted at the container again. "I never had a problem with the idea of space food. I know it's supposed to be gross. But I'm not sure how I feel about eating alien space food, even if I supposedly ate it once upon a time." She pinched one of the dried whatevers between her thumb and forefinger and held it out. "What do you think it is?"
Oh, wait, he wasn't done. Aquarius waited as he managed to spit out his question, her face falling slightly. "Here's the deal," she said bluntly, pointing upwards with her free hand. "Rule one: I can't bring you a camera. Not that I care, particularly, but the others would freak out. Rule two." She extended another finger, proving that she wasn't pointing, but counting instead. "Nothing dangerous, harmful, or illegal. No drugs, no guns..." She shuddered for a moment before continuing. "Where was I? Rule three: if you want me to take a letter to your family, you'll have to let me read it first. I wish I didn't have to, but we can't let the bad guys know we're having a crisis here."
If she was the one who was stranded, would she send a note? There was no way of knowing. In a way, Aquarius was stranded, stuck spending most of her time looking for a solution. But she still had dinner with her brother every night, to present the illusion that life was going on as normal. These people didn't have that luxury. Then again, without them, she wouldn't be stranded. The civilians resented the Zodiacs, and the Zodiacs resented the civilians. It was a bad situation all around, even if everyone tried to act civil, and not everyone did.
There was something about the guy's desperation that made her drop her hands, and the businesslike manner along with it. "What's wrong? If there's anything I can do- within reason, you know- I'll try to help." She couldn't save any of them yet, but apparently there was something she could do to make things right.

Steven leaned forward and squinted at the... thing. "Maybe it's a dried... dehydrated... whatever they make Pinkberry smoothies out of?" He suggested, apparently unaware that the Pinkberry brand wasn't named after a mysterious, literal pink berry.
He nodded vigorously in reaction to every individual rule Aquarius sounded off, except the last one was cut short by another cringe. A letter to his family? Well, now his request seemed even dumber. He supposed he could send a letter to his parents, assuming they'd noticed he was missing. His boss would probably be the one to report him missing, if anyone did.
No, this was concerning the only one who depending on him being there on a daily basis and was probably in not-so-great shape as a result.
"Oh, no, it's not that, I just... well..." He realized he was trailing off and cleared his throat to get back on track. "I have a guinea pig," He said, finally spitting it out. "And my parents live out of town and I don't really have any family or really close friends that would know or care enough to feed him. I was kind of hoping... someone would be willing to bust in my place and take care of him," He finished, looking guilty. As important as Puffpuff's well being was to him, to an outsider, he was sure it sounded trivial and unimportant, especially in light of everything else currently happening.

Aquarius stared blankly at Steven, wondering if he was serious. Then she laughed and nodded. "I could see that! It'll be the biggest scoop: Pinkberry uses alien fruit!" She picked up another container containing strips of red stuff in a gooey liquid. "And maybe this is a Red Mango one? It's an inter-chain smoothie conspiracy of unknown proportions!"
It was fun to joke- though it was hard to tell how much she was kidding and how much she was wondering if this theory had any credence- but he was being serious, and she tried her best to act accordingly. "Yes, well. You wanted...?"
Was this another joke? It didn't seem like it. "A guinea pig?" she repeated, trying to make sure she had this straight. "A guinea pig." Multiple repetitions were never a good sign. And she sounded angry. Looked it too, the way she was folding her arms and trying to loom over someone both older and taller than she was.
"Why, if I may ask, are you only bringing this to my attention now?"
She was angry, but maybe not for the reason he would think.
