Sarias was sweating. Well not sweating, sweating as some flesh wearers would be, but enough to show a thin sheen of something over her ectoplasmic skin. She was working. Working on something that had taken weeks of preparation, hours of bone grafting, blood spilling sacrifice. Her tears, her heart, her very soul was in this project as she pounded the work surface with an angry fist. Why was it taking so long! The minutes she has spent figuring out every last detail, everything that might go wrong, what might happen in case...in case...well, It didn't bare thinking about! It was going to work, this plan would solve everything! Soon Seiji would be everything she ever wanted him to be. Dead. Dead and out of her life forever...well in a sense. She tapped a nailed finger against the her chin as she thought on something that had just occurred to her. Did she want him gone forever? He had truly hurt her. Never before had someone been able to get beneath her skin, to tear at her emotions like he was able too. She didn't like it, couldn't handle it. She wanted to punish him. Of course a ghost couldn't die, but that was hardly going to stop Sarias. P. Blacksling...

"DING"

The mini-bake oven came to a stop before her, the light switching on to illuminate the spookies inside. That right, Sarias had made spookies. She wasn't hoping Seiji would choke to death on them, no not at all, she was far more prepared for that. Laced with every poisonousness plant she had found over the past 3 weeks she had spiked the baked goods to an inch of their life. It even smelt like death. Sickly and sweet and rolled into one mound of crumbling goodness. Sarias was tempted to feed one to her pets....maybe later, the hour was growing late and Seiji would be returning for the whore's dorm room any minute now. She needed to lay her trap and lay it fast.

***

The spookies sat untouched on the silver plate. The common room silent all around them as they lay on the table, a small note written in Sarias worst hand writing to put students off recognizing her. A simple message. "Seiji, Just for you! Love A*." Sarias had hopped Seiji would think the A* stood for Aislin, knowing of their friendship, how could he not? The first banshee to come to the school in her term, Sarias needed to know everything about her and what she found out displeased her greatly. She would have to meet this Aislin, but right now only Seiji was on her mind.

There was a smugness radiating from the hungry ghost as he made his way home from the monster dorms. A certain air of satisfaction that only seemed to come about when you've spent the majority of your morning tangled in the sheets with a pretty ghoul and not much else. There was a spring in boil's step as he walked, hands crammed into his pockets. Lips pursed as he whistled an upbeat little melody. It had been an exceptionally nice morning for the jikininki, and now he was on his way back to his dorm to change for a bit of a friendly sparing with Sharra over at the fitness club room.

Upon entering the ghost common room he didn't immediately notice the plate of cookies and actually walked right past them. Stopping only as the rich aroma reached him and pulled him around to stare curiously down at the carefully stacked spookies.

A quick glance around showed the large room was as empty as it usually was, so it wasn't immediately obvious how the treats had gotten there, but also explained why they were still there. Granted, not every ghost had an actual appetite. Seiji was one of the few that bothered with silly things like meals, but eating was a part of who and what he was. It was hot wired into his ectoplasm.

Sharp teeth clicking thoughtfully, he ventured back to the table and plucked up the note. Smiling fondly as he read it over. "You're too kind, Ash." Of course he'd fall for the simple trick. There was no reason for him to suspect anything was amiss, and it wasn't out the realm of possibilities for the banshee gal to leave him a little something just because.

Two of the spookies disappeared in a matter of seconds, and a third was sticking out of the boil's mouth as he tried the stack the remaining treats on a napkin so he could transport them back to his room for later consumption. They were tasty things. Even had a touch of something sickly sweet that reminded him decay.

Sarias watched with apt fascination as Seiji walked into the room. She had monitored his morning activities for weeks now, bribing the gnomes to keep tabs and updates if anything was to change, anything at all. Which might have been why there was an increase of dead gnomes stuffed in her wardrobe right about now. Some of them were pulling their weight....and never would do now. "Come onnn, eat the dam spookies you big handed idiot." The small amount of affection in her voice could have been misheard for anger and betrayal...which if anyone did hear that's what they would have taken away from her frantic mumblings. Plus the fact she was hiding behind the corner spying into the common room didn't help things.

She almost squealed in delight as he stuffed one, two...three! cookies into that mouth of his, her mind running over the happy thought that he had not tasted the cyanide sprinkles. He was halfway through staking them up when she realised something was wrong. Seriously wrong. He should be on the floor by now, seizures and bleeding from every orifice.....why was he not bleeding from every orifice!!

"WHAT! Why aren't you dying you FREAK!" The blue hair ghoul stormed into the room, fists pounding the air as she came up to him, her eyes ablaze with fury.

"Your meant to be dead! DIE ALREADY!" It wasn't uncommon for Sarias to be crazy but this was just plain weird. She was after all talking to a ghost.

A familiar shriek drew Seiji's attention up from his little tower of spookies on the table. Dark eyes staring blankly back at the raging ghoul as she hollered at him. There was still a spookie half in his mouth, and he brought a hand up to grab the edge of it, breaking off that half of it so he could chew the remainder thoughtfully as he watched Sarias close in on him, white fists assaulting the air. Was she crazy? Ok, that was a stupid question, he knew Jack well she was crazy, but she seemed, if possible, crazier then was normal for her.

Swallowing, he wagged the uneaten half of the spookie at her vaguely. "What, did you finally go off the deep end completely? I am dead." His tone was incredibly flat and unamused. It matched the bored expression currently resting on his features perfectly.

Now that he really stopped to think about it, he hadn't seen Sarias since they'd had their fight. Not that he was complaining, frankly he'd expected her to do all in her power to make his and Junko's lives miserable from that day forward, but he hadn't heard a peep from the banshee. It struck him as odd, though if she had indeed finally gone bat s**t insane then that may very well have explained things.

"Just for curiosities sake," he ventured curiously, taking another bite of the spookie then continuing to talk despite his mouth being full. Rude, yes, but also highly infuriating. "Why am I meant to be dead?" It was obvious now that the treats he'd found had not been left by Aislin, but Sarias herself. He wanted to know what she'd done to them, not that it really mattered. The boil could eat pretty much anything without consequence.

Her face was twisted in anger as she sneered at him, her whole body coiled like a snake about to strike as she walked up to her. If he looked hard enough he was sure to see froth forming at the corners of her lips.

"IDIOT!"
she bellowed as her hand snatched out hitting the piled up cookies and scattering them everywhere. She didn't care that she had to wait 40 minutes with that stupid toy oven to cook them, or it had been three hard weeks of work to gather the ingredients. She didnt want to ever see them again, ever. But even now the evidence was still there, laughing at her. Tiny crumbs at the edge of Seiji's mouth mocked her as she stared up at him, her face a shocking blue as she became angrier and angrier.

"Your meant to be dead you FOOL! DEAD! Only you could consumed a level of poison that would destroy half the reaper race at school and still be here! Y-You, who has the nerve to carry on LIVING!! Stupid, stupid BOIL!"

She placed her head in her hands, if anyone was to walk in it would almost seem that the ghoul was crying in front of the boil. Yet the reaction of her wisps told another story as the cracked at the floor boards, her mood feeding them into a frenzy as she thought on the student before her.

"If I could crush your worthless windpipe i would! Yet even you have not the dignity to give me that!! And to think I seek forgiveness from something like you! Uhhh! STUPID FOOL!"

Yeeeeep, she'd gone certifiable. What the Jack, had his yelling at her triggered some sort of mental break? Couldn't have been losing him as a friend, she'd said herself he didn't mean a damn thing to her. Of course, this didn't look like the behavior of someone that didn't care. He frowned, taking a second to really look at her before screamed at him, knocking his cookies out of his hand. "Hey! What the Jack, Sarias?" He was gunna eat those, damnit! Well, he still could.. Them being on the floor didn't really mean a whole lot to the hungry ghost. He ate worst.

He wouldn't really get much of a chance to try to pick them up though as the ghoul exploded at him. Pale face actually going blue with her rage. It had red on black eyes going wide as he looked down at her. Ah, so the spookies were poisoned, that explained the sickly sweet taste, not so much why he should be dead. "I'm not a reaper, I'm a ghost." He pointed it out in such a way to remind the ghoul that that should have been obvious. "And a jikininki at that, I can eat almost anything. You know that."

Why in Jack's name did she want him dead in the first place? If he didn't mean anything to her then why was she wasting her time with plots of revenge? She was vindictive, he knew that, but even this seemed a little extreme.

He was actually a little thrown when she buried her face in her hands, hardened features softening just a touch as clawed fingers reached up as if he'd touch her. Trying to comfort her despite everything that'd gone on between them, her and Junko. He wasn't heartless after all. That hand dropped away though she started yelling again, and her words came as something of a slap in the face. Forgiveness? "What the Jack are you talking about, Sarias?" The last he knew she didn't want his forgiveness, and he didn't owe her any apologize. When exactly had that changed, and why wasn't he informed of it.

The remaining bit of spookie in his hand was discarded on the floor with the others, and he crossed his arms across his chest. Expression suitably puzzled by her behavior.

She pushed her hands from her face forcing her palms to follow the outline of her hair down to her neck. She looked tired. Now that Seiji could really look at her up close she looked...well, s**t. Bags of every dark colour possible laced her eyes, her fake skin looked taunt and blotchy, like she had been crying for days. She was not a happy bunny, and her tone of voice made sure the Jinkininki knew of it.

"Of course you would eat them, if s**t looked half appetising I could imagine you swallowing it down, pfft I guess you do with that stinking whore!" she barked as she threw a hand up in frustration her legs suddenly taking her on a frantic pacing of the room.

"And don't take me to be an imbecile like you! You wouldn't die, I know that. But the chemicals found in those poisons should have at least put you into one hell of nasty coma, but noooo, you can't even get that right can you Seiji!! You would be 'dead' to everyone else but not to me! I would then keep
you locked up in my room and then..." her words trailed off as spilled out her plan like it was nothing unusual, like people did this sort of thing day in and day out. Her eyes flashed back at him, she looked hurt, tired and hurt. Yes, this whole falling out had affected her. But she would be dammed if she had to admit it.

"I have never felt more inconsolable hate for a being than I do for you Seiji and yet I can't stop thinking of what I've lost not having you as a friend. I despise you..."

His puzzled expression slide right back into flatness as she spoke, but really, he couldn't argue with her logic. Well, most of it. He would eat just about anything without discretion if it sat still long enough, nature of the race. He should have known she couldn't have gone very long without bringing up Junko though, and he bristled when the other ghoul was mentioned, lips curling into a defensive sneer as his hands tightened on his own arms. "Watch it, Sarias." Did they really need a repeat of their last conversation?

Seemed as though she was far too keen on her ranting to really let his comments dissuade her. She was pacing as she spoke, rambling on and on about her attempts to poison him and the effects it should have had on him, his inability to get even that right and her wanting to lock him in her room- Wait.. Dark eyes narrowed on her as she finally trailed off and he blinked in surprise when she noticed her expression. She looked like s**t, but beneath the obvious physical signs of high stress and general insanity she looked.. hurt.

Just one minute though. What was that part about locking him in her room? "What do you mean locked up in your room?" She'd made it very clear she wasn't attracted to him, that he didn't mean anything to her, so why in Jack's name would she want him around. Except maybe to watch him suffer, now there was a reasonable explanation.

"Sarias, you don't care about me, remember? I'm an idiot, an absolute fool, and nothing but a waste of your time. Any of this ringing a bell? You told me I meant nothing, that our friendship meant nothing. So why are you.. What.." He cut off with a frustrated growl, human fingers coming up to smooth a few escaped strands of hair back from his face. "I don't get you."

She had stopped pacing while the ghost answered her back, she was facing away from him and quickly trying to brush the salt filled liquid from her eyes. Sarias didnt cry and if she did it was through laughing in delight at someone else's misfortune. She didnt feel like laughing right now, she didnt feel like anything. She was hallow and had been for so long and yet even now with Seiji standing there she felt a small part of her burn, like he had left something behind when they were friends. She didnt care for it. It was painful, too painful.

"I am glad you see yourself as I do! -"
She shouted as he picked out the key words from their last and current conversations. " - and I meant everyone of them!" She twisted round, eyes ablaze but blurry through tears. She couldnt stop them coming if she wanted too, they had a mind of their own! She would have to remember to teach them a lesson later, maybe tear out those worthless tear ducts.

"You! YOU and your stupid, idiotic, pathetic self! You are not worth the time it takes for me to ignore you!"
Her words came fast and thick as she screamed at him, her legs bringing her closer and closer as her wails became louder. Any second now their would be a full blown banshee scream to contend with.

"Yet you, YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO ME!"
She howled as she threw a balled up fist into his shoulder. It wasn't hard, it was almost like she didnt have the energy to make it worth while yet she hit him again with her other hand, meaningless attempts at making an impact.

"I-I cant stop t-thinking of you! You-ur so...so stupid and I hate you. I've never hated someone as much as I do you! But...but I can't.....I can't....Uhhh! Forget it! FORGET IT!" She stopped her pathetic excuse for a fight and dropped her hands from him, one palm lifting to cover her eyes as they pinched the tears away. This was as low as the ghost ghoul could get, well, at least to herself.

Chiseled features hardened further when she spoke again. Once more insulting, belittling him at every pass. It pulled at his lips until he was damn near sneering at the ghoul as she spun around to stare up at him. The sight that met him though when he met her eyes was enough to startle him. Tears? Why the Jack was she crying? It was enough to cool the hostility and replace it with puzzled apprehension. He was completely out of his depth here.

She started screaming at him, advancing on him with every rage filled exclamation, and Seiji had to resist the urge to back away from her. He wasn't scared of Sarias, he was strong then her, but she was not behaving normally. If anything, he was hoping to simply avoid setting her off even further, because as loud as she was, as emotional as she seemed, he knew there was another level. Banshees always had another level beyond the "human" norm, he knew that from experience.

The confusion deepened when she punched at his shoulder, dark brows creasing. "Sarias.." Done? What had he done to her? She hit him again, and there was no power to it.

One hand lifted as though he'd catch her wrist to lift her hand from his shoulder, but she dropped both fists before he could do it. One pale hand raising to cover her eyes. His voice was much softer now then it had been as he spoke to her, then hand he'd raised before now hovering uselessly near her shoulder. As if he would touch her but wasn't sure he should. "Sarias, what are you talking about?"

He'd believed her when she'd told him he'd meant nothing, that their friendship had meant nothing. There'd been no reason to to believe it, but now? Clearly she'd been lying, and brought back to mind their last encounter, the fight, and for the first time there was a flicker of guilt in the pit of his stomach for some of the things he'd said to her. The guilt didn't help him know what to say to her now though, and he stood quietly as he looked down at her. Watched the glitter of tears roll down her cheeks. He'd done this.. They both had really, but right that moment he felt awful.

"This is too hard."

She couldn't....she couldn't do this. Her hand dropped from her face and she looked back up at the jikininki full on, as if her eyes could tell him what her words could not. She didnt like this, this wasn't like her at all. But something, somewhere, inside...there was damage, she was no longer the Sarias that could do this. She cursed the island, her death, the death she had yet to be punished for. Her scars were caused by that second death, scars that would not heal, would not stop bleeding. They made her weak, they had made her hope.

"Seiji I...I..." Fresh tear erupted on to her cheeks as her lips fought to stop trembling, her hands pulling at one another as if trying to give them something to do, stopping them from doing what she wanted, what she really wanted...

"I never...I-I never meant to hurt you...I just....I'm just so sorry" The choking sobs caught in her throat as she tried to calm herself, her eyes forever searching into his, finding nothing, she never would. Not for her. Not ever. She gave a half hearted smile as if remembering something funny, the back of a blue hand coming up to brush the tears away.

"You know...your the first...first boil...after...Icky that I've apologised too...and meant it...really meant it. Heh..I have too...I have to stop doing that..."

It was easy to see she was fighting herself, fighting so dam hard not to show more weakness, more tears, more of her heart. But it was getting harder not to just...touch him. To just let her hands reach out and - "Uhhh! NO...NO, NO, NO!"

It would have taken a second for the boil to realise what Sarias was doing but in an instant it was over. The ghoul had only just started to pound the sides of her head, hitting the temple in a bid to stop her thoughts and then she was...she was gone. As if breaking a spell she turned heel and ran. Ran as fast as she could, as fast as she dam well could. Away from her thoughts, away from Seiji, away from everything. She wanted none of it and yet....

she wanted him...
