Has anyone heard of this Indian Weapon? It's a long whip sword made of flexible steel and it's used in a martial art that the name eludes me. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy these weapons? I've tried and I've found none. Go forth and discuss!

Do you have a picture? And what kind of Indian? American Indian or Eastern Indian? If its Eastern Indian, the art may be Kalaripayatt.

looks like a cool weapon, can't imagine how many times I'd hurt myself trying to learn to use it though.

Isn't this also called a chuttuval? I think it'll be very hard to find a shop outside of India. Aside the fact that kalaripayattu isn't very big, I'd bet my a** on it it's an illegal weapon in several countries.
I believe the Russians had a similar weapon, also worn around the belt...
Anyways, googling kalaripayattu I ran upon a site (www.hypnotictapes.com) which has sleephypnotism tapes for just about every martial art. Which is why I'll go start a thread on that now. biggrin

I couldn't find anything on the Russian version of this weapon. I heard it from this Russian scientist who's kid I used to hang out with. I remember it vividly because he claimed Russians made the best swords and how they were the best because they were flexible enough to wear around the waist like a belt.
I'll see if I can somehow contact him and get some info out of him. ^^
